what if this happens on the eve of the fight with adam. charlie and vaggie really should've sent vox away at this point (he's not in a state where he can choose to die for them), but he kind of got overlooked in the chaos of preparing for war. when val and velvette catch wind that the hotel is about to go on a suicide mission against the exorcist army, they make one last, desperate attempt to contact him and convince him to flee the hotel– and for once, it works. he has an angelic weapon, he doesn't want to die tomorrow, and he's desperately trying to cling on to the fact that alastor does not have his best interests at heart.
and then the man himself enters the room
I can’t stop thinking about this idea I have of Vox suddenly remembering who he used to be and then Alastor coming to talk him down . And Vox is just trying to hard to clutch onto lucidity, threatening him even, but Alastor is just so good at getting into his head, he can’t help but give in .
In the specific scenario I imagine, Vox always has a gun (Probably one gifted to him by Val in case he needed to defend himself), and Alastor managing to talk him out of shooting him and then taking the gun from him , in a symbolic sort of fashion . I just think it’s fun when he’s fucked up and manipulative <3
"Come now Vox, there's no need for that. We're friends, aren't we?"
"I– Yes– No!– I don't– 'In 1965, NBC announced that its prime-time schedule would be almost entirely–' I want– You– We can be–"
"Yes, dear, that's very nice. Now, let me see that weapon of yours."
#alastor; *finishes his cute moment with niffty* welp time to go terrorize vox!#randomly accessed memories (RAM)#…what if alastor’s lowkey hoping that vox will die in the battle#he doesn’t want to kill vox himself#but what if the situation is out of his hands?#then he won't have to admit to himself (via murder) that he made a mistake doing this to him#and can just move on without having to think about him anymore
