delicate — geto suguru.
Suguru glared at Gojo. “I’m not concerned, I just—” “Uh–uhuh, keep talking.” “I’m just some friend—acquaintance. Worried.” Suguru narrowed his eyes. “Seriously, Satoru. I don’t know what you’re going on about. If I'm in love with them, shoot me.” Without missing a beat, Gojo grinned, “Bang.” He made a playful gun gesture with his hand and gave Suguru a wide grin. “Cupid’s bullets confirm!”

YOU WEREN’T LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. You were the it-girl, so sought after. The shining star. You were the girl everyone wanted to be—effortlessly beautiful, charming, and the center of attention at Jujutsu College. As a cheerleader, you had it all: the admiration of your peers, the envy of others, and the kind of popularity that opened every door.
Everywhere you went, eyes followed. Whispers trailed in your wake, a symphony of awe and envy that only fueled your rise to the top. You were untouchable, your smile a weapon, your presence a force. Parties, events, and the campus buzzed with your name. Everyone wanted to be near you, to bask in the glow of your effortless charisma. But all of that came crashing down when you chose to stand up for what you believed was right.
The whispers got worse the moment they took to the locker room. One of the newer cheerleaders, a girl named Emi, was their target—shy, awkward, and an easy mark for their cruelty. You watched it unfold for days, biting your tongue, hoping it would stop. They were the same, the seniors who already graduated. You let them do it then, because you hoped they’d stop like the seniors did. But they did not. Instead, it went too far.
You looked at them for a moment, trying not to be obvious. This was going too far. The girl was about to cry, maybe she’d even get even more hurt. This is enough. You cannot stay and just stay silent anymore. Maybe it was the memory of your own first days on the squad, when you weren’t yet the queen bee, when you still had something to prove. Or maybe it was just a sense of fairness that you couldn’t ignore. But you knew that this had to stop. This has to end.
"God, Emi, you can’t even get a basic cheer right. Why are you even here?" one of the girls sneered, her voice dripping with disdain.
Emi stood frozen, her eyes welling up with tears. The other cheerleaders laughed, egging each other on, pushing her closer to the edge. You bit your lip, closing your locker with a loud bang, causing everyone to look at you. You could feel Emi’s eyes on you too, shaking with fear as tears fell from her cheeks.
“Leave her alone, you freaks!” you said, your voice sharp as you stepped forward. “That is enough. She doesn’t deserve this. You’ve gone too far, even more than our seniors!”
They turned to you, surprise flickering across their faces before it morphed into mockery. You moved forward to the captain, eyes narrowed as you glared at her. You shook your head at her. “Just leave her alone. She’s a freshman. She doesn’t need your shit.”
“What, are you her knight in shining armor now?” one of the lackeys taunted, crossing her arms. “You’re supposed to be on our side, aren’t you? This is a tradition for us seniors.”
“I’m on the side that’s not full of bullies.” you shot back, your anger boiling over. “Being bullied doesn’t mean you should be one!”
“What’s your problem?” another girl snapped, stepping closer, her tone threatening. “She’s dead weight, and you know it.”
You clenched your fists, trying to keep your temper in check. “My problem is that you’re all acting like a bunch of jerks. If you can’t see that, then maybe you’re the dead weight.”
The tension in the room exploded like a storm that had been brewing for too long. You could feel it in the way the air seemed to thicken, in the way eyes narrowed and lips curled into sneers. It started with a harsh word—one of those sly, cutting remarks that slid under the skin like a blade. But this time, you couldn’t let it slide. Not when it was aimed at Emi, the quiet girl who had been on the receiving end of too many of those slights.
You were on your feet before you even realized it, the words spilling out of you in a rush of anger and defiance. “What’s your problem? Why do you always have to pick on someone who’s done nothing to you?”
Your voice cut through the chatter, silencing the room. The others stared at you, shocked that you—of all people—would dare to break ranks. The lead cheerleader, the queen bee, glared at you, her eyes narrowed into slits. “What, are you her bodyguard now? Don’t act like you’re better than us.”
It was the spark that lit the fire. The room erupted into chaos as insults were hurled back and forth. You didn’t back down, not when they turned their barbs on you, not when they sneered at Emi. It all escalated so fast—too fast. Suddenly, hands were shoving, nails were scratching, and before you knew it, you were in the middle of a full-blown fight.
You could barely make sense of it all. The adrenaline surged through you, drowning out the pain as someone’s fist connected with your cheek, leaving a nasty bruise that would bloom later. All you could think about was protecting Emi, keeping her out of the fray, even as the world around you descended into chaos.
The chaos only ended when the coaches rushed in, their voices booming as they waded into the mess of tangled limbs and flaring tempers. They pulled you all apart, demanding to know what had happened, their faces a mix of shock and anger.
But it was too late—the damage was done. You could see it in their eyes, the way they looked at you now, like you were the problem. The principal was called in, and you found yourself standing in his office, staring at the floor as he lectured you about school spirit and the responsibilities that came with your position.
Your words fell on deaf ears. They didn’t want to hear about the bullying, about how you were just trying to protect Emi. All they saw was the fight, the disruption, and the girl who had gone from golden to tarnished in a matter of minutes.
When you returned to the locker room, it was like a slap in the face. Your things had been removed from your team locker, stuffed unceremoniously into a bag and left on the floor. You were no longer welcome. The cheerleaders, the same girls who had once been your closest friends, looked at you with cold eyes and turned their backs.
You had wanted to protect Emi, and now you were left with a throbbing bruise, a reprimand from the principal, and a cold emptiness where your friends used to be. But even as you walked out of that locker room, head held high despite everything, you knew you’d do it all over again. Because some things were worth fighting for, even if it meant losing everything else.
The next day, you found yourself officially kicked off the squad. Well, Emi was also kicked out too, but you were glad that she wasn’t at all hurt. That was what mattered. The news spread like wildfire, and the people who once idolized you now whispered behind your back. Your world felt like it was crumbling, and you couldn’t help but wonder if you’d made the biggest mistake of your life.
Later that afternoon, you found yourself sitting alone outside, trying to process everything that had happened. Emi had repeatedly apologized to you today, but you kept waving her off and told her to stay safe around school. It wasn’t really her fault. Maybe if you had acted much earlier, maybe Emi wouldn’t have had to go through the worst. Perhaps this was your punishment. This was what happened because of your inaction. And you feel like you deserve this. You deserve to be punished like this. You could only sigh.
That’s when you heard someone approaching.
“You know, I always thought cheerleaders were supposed to be a tight-knit group.” a voice drawled.
You looked up to see Gojo Satoru standing there, hands in his pockets, a mischievous smile playing on his lips. “Guess I was wrong, huh?”
“Guess so.” you muttered, feeling the sting of his words even though they weren’t meant to hurt. “I’m sorry, have I met you before?”
“I don’t think so.” He says, removing his round sunglasses. “Have we met before too?”
“Don’t think so.” You admitted also, face scrunching in confusion. “I don’t meddle around with unpopular kids.”
“Hey, hey, I’m not unpopular.”
“Then why have I never heard of your name before?” You raised your brow.
“I don’t know, maybe you were too focused on being a cheerleader and me being a Digimon stan?”
“Oh, so you’re a nerd!” You clapped your hands together. “That makes sense why I haven’t heard about you.”
He sighed. “You cheerleaders are cut throats, aren’t you?”
“I’m an ex–cheerleader now. Not really much of a cheerleader anymore.” You snickered. “Those pom pom waving mean girls, goodbye them!”
He plopped down next to you, stretching out his long legs. “So, what’s the plan now? Are you gonna go all lone wolf, or are you open to a new company?”
You raised an eyebrow at him. “Why do you care?”
Gojo shrugged, his smile widening. “Because I’m curious about the girl who went from queen bee to outcast in one day. That takes guts.”
You couldn’t help but laugh, though it came out a little bitter. “Or stupidity.”
“Or both, you know?” he agreed easily. “But I like guts. So does Shoko. And Suguru. And Kento and Haibara. You’d fit right in with us.”
“Fit in?” you echoed, not sure if he was being serious. Your face reminded Satoru of how Kento reacted to him asking to be his friend.
“Yeah.” he said, leaning back on his hands, looking up at the sky. “We’re not exactly the most popular kids on campus, but we’re fun. And we don’t care about that petty stuff.”
Before you could respond, Shoko Ieiri appeared, hands stuffed in her lab coat pockets, a cigarette dangling from her lips. “You’re not bothering her, are you, Gojo?”
“Me? Bother someone? Never, Sho.” Gojo said, feigning innocence. “Just making a new friend.”
Shoko rolled her eyes and looked at you. “He’s right, though. You’re welcome to hang with us if you want.”
You hesitated, glancing between them. “I don’t know…”
“Don’t worry about it,” Shoko said with a lazy grin. “We don’t bite. Well, maybe Gojo does, but only if you ask nicely.”
You laughed again, this time more genuinely. “Okay… I guess I’ll give it a shot.”
As the days passed, you found yourself drifting away from the cheerleaders and into a new circle. It started subtly at first, with Gojo casually inviting you to sit with him and Shoko during lunch. Gojo’s easygoing nature made it hard to say no, and Shoko’s dry humor quickly drew you in.
They didn’t seem to care about the drama that had turned your life upside down. Gojo’s bright grin and carefree attitude were a stark contrast to the cold shoulders you’d been getting from your former friends. Shoko, with her sharp wit and laid-back demeanor, offered a kind of friendship that felt refreshing, real in a way that the cheerleading squad never had.
Soon, Geto Suguru and Nanami Kento joined in. Suguru had a quiet confidence about him, a steady presence that was both comforting and intriguing. He didn’t ask about the fight or why you weren’t with the cheerleaders anymore. Instead, he offered a warm smile and an understanding nod, as if he knew without needing to be told.
Nanami, on the other hand, was more reserved. He didn’t speak much at first, but his presence was reassuring. There was a steadiness to him, a sense of reliability that you hadn’t realized you craved. He welcomed you into their group with a subtle nod, a small but genuine gesture that told you he saw you for who you were now, not who you had been before.
Each of them, in their own way, made room for you. They didn’t treat you like the fallen star or the girl with the tarnished reputation. With them, you didn’t have to pretend. You could be yourself—no masks, no expectations.And slowly, you began to feel something you hadn’t felt in a long time: belonging.
That afternoon, all of you were sitting together under a tree on campus, watching the world go by. Geto Suguru was in the middle of explaining something, his voice calm and soothing, while Nanami listened quietly, offering his thoughts every now and then. Yu was more excited trying to make friends with you than before. You think it's interesting, how this ball of sunshine saw you as some sort of superhero for what you did, even if you didn’t.
Yu Haibara, ever the sunshine in human form, plopped down beside you with a grin. “Hey, I heard about what happened with the cheer squad. Pretty badass, if you ask me.”
You smiled, feeling the warmth of genuine friendship for the first time in what felt like forever. “Thanks. I wasn’t sure if it was the right thing, but…”
“It was! You’re so cool, you know?” Haibara said firmly. “Standing up for someone who needed it? That’s always the right thing.”
“Besides, it’s just what it is, you know?” Geto added, looking over at you. He was smoking his cigarette roll, one he made himself. “You don’t have to be what you aren’t.”
“Yeah.” Nanami agreed, his voice steady and reassuring. “You don’t have to pretend to be something you’re not with us.”
You looked around at them—this group of people who had taken you in without hesitation, who saw you for who you really were, not just the image you had projected for so long. And for the first time in a while, you felt like you were exactly where you were meant to be.
As the weeks went by, you found a surprising sense of belonging with Gojo, Shoko, Suguru, Nanami, and Yu. They had become your new circle of friends, and their acceptance gave you a fresh start that you didn’t know you needed. They were a new sort of fun, a different kind of excitement that was worlds apart from the polished, high-pressure life you’d known as the it-girl.
With them, your days became filled with spontaneous adventures. Gojo was always dragging everyone to the arcade, where his competitive streak made every game feel like a high-stakes challenge. Shoko would roll her eyes at his antics but still join in, her laughter adding to the cacophony of beeping machines and cheerful music. Suguru, ever the cool-headed one, had a knack for choosing the perfect music stores to visit, introducing you to tracks that soon became the soundtrack to this new chapter of your life.
Nanami and Suguru were more reserved, especially at first. You could tell they were still feeling you out, trying to figure out if you really fit into their group. But even in their uncertainty, they made an effort. Nanami, despite his serious demeanor, would show up at the burger joints Gojo loved, quietly indulging in the greasy food and ridiculous banter. Suguru, with his calm presence, would often give you a slight smile or a nod, a small but significant sign that you were being welcomed, even if it was cautiously.
Yu was the glue that held it all together, his infectious energy and boundless enthusiasm pulling everyone along. Satoru was as enthusiastic as he was, but unlike him — Yu was someone that tried to keep everyone in good peace together. And he was good. He had a way of making you feel included, whether it was by handing you a spare controller at the arcade or making sure you got the best seat at the burger joint.
That’s just how it was with them. You didn’t have to worry about the petty dramas or the constant pressure to be perfect. With this group, it was all about the moment—the thrill of a high score, the taste of a greasy burger, the discovery of a new song. And you liked it. You liked who you were becoming with them.
Gojo leaned back in his chair, tossing a sugar packet from one hand to the other. “You know, you fit in with us better than you did with that cheer squad.”
You shot him a playful glare. “Are you saying I was too good for them?”
Shoko rolled her eyes. “Stop teasing, Gojo. You’re ruining the vibe.”
“Hey, I’m not!” Gojo argues as his grin spreads, “Just that our new friend here is way cooler than they ever gave them credit for.”
You looked at Shoko, who was sipping her coffee with a look of amused tolerance, added, “He’s right. They were just too busy with their drama to see how awesome you are.”
Suguru, sitting across from you, offered a more thoughtful observation. He bit into his fries. “Sometimes, it takes getting knocked down to realize where you truly belong. You were always meant to be with people who appreciate you for who you are.”
Nanami, who had been quietly observing, nodded in agreement. “You’re a good blend with us, I think. We’ve had a lot of fun since you joined us.”
Yu Haibara, always the optimist, leaned in with a grin. “Yeah, and you’ve made things a lot more interesting around here. It’s not every day we get someone with your… spirit.”
You smiled, feeling a warm flush of gratitude. “Thanks, guys. I wasn’t sure where I’d fit in after everything that happened, but I really appreciate how welcoming you’ve all been.”
The conversation shifted to lighter topics, and you found yourself laughing more than you had in a long time. It was a refreshing change from the pressure and pretense of your previous life.
As the night wore on, Gojo suddenly stood up and stretched. “Hey, who’s up for a late-night walk? I heard there’s a new food truck downtown.”
Shoko raised an eyebrow. “You just want an excuse to get more snacks.”
“Guilty as charged.” Gojo admitted with a wink. “But you’re all welcome to join if you’re up for it.”
“Sounds good to me.” Suguru said, standing up and grabbing his coat.
You looked around at your friends, feeling a genuine sense of contentment. “I’m in.”
“You feeling cold?” Suguru asked as he saw you stand from the booth.
“A little—” He threw you his jacket, which you were barely able to catch.
“Put it on.”
“O–oh, okay.”
As you all walked together through the city streets, the cool night air filled with laughter and conversation, you realized how different this life felt from the one you had left behind. There were no superficial judgments, no hidden agendas—just a group of people who valued each other’s company and had each other’s backs.
Later, as you shared food and stories under the streetlights, you found yourself in a moment of quiet reflection. You had come so far from the popular girl who had been kicked out of the cheer squad. You were no longer defined by your past status or the mistakes you’d made. Instead, you were part of a new chapter, one where you were valued for who you truly were.
Gojo’s laughter broke through your thoughts as he tossed a piece of popcorn into the air, catching it with a grin. “See? This is what life’s about—good friends, good food, and not taking things too seriously.”
You laughed, feeling the weight of the past lift off your shoulders. “I couldn’t agree more.”
In that moment, you knew that despite everything you had been through, you had found something real and genuine. And as you walked beside your new friends, you felt a renewed sense of hope for the future, knowing that wherever life took you next, you would face it with people who truly cared about you.
But in that moment, Geto Suguru looked at you and thought to himself for a moment, just for that moment — how good happiness looks on you.
°❀⋆.ೃ࿔*:・🌌*ੈ𑁍༘⋆
IF HE WAS BEING HONEST, HE’S NOT ONE TO TRUST PEOPLE EASILY. But coming from a rough place in life, it was something that can’t be helped. So, in the beginning, Geto Suguru had his reservations about you. He’d heard the rumors about the cheerleader who had once been the queen of Jujutsu College, and he wasn’t impressed. To him, you seemed like just another snob who was used to getting their way and couldn’t be bothered with anyone outside her circle.
When Gojo tried to blend you into the group, Suguru’s attitude was guarded, and for a good reason. So, he kept his distance and even interacted with you, he tried to be casual, trying to not get too deep into it.
He remembers what he said then — “I’m not really into the whole ‘cheerleader’ thing,” he’d said with a shrug. “Not my style. So they're still not my style either.”
You had sensed his cold demeanor but tried not to let it bother you. Instead, you focused on being yourself—friendly, outgoing, and always ready to lend a hand. You wanted to prove that you weren’t just the image people had of you. Even though you could still be rough in the edges with your personality, it didn’t stop people from enjoying your company.
And over time, Geto Suguru began to see a different side of you. You didn’t just laugh at his jokes or offer superficial compliments, nor were you as stuck up as people make you out to be; you were genuinely kind and considerate. You had a really good way of making others feel comfortable, and it wasn’t long before he found himself intrigued by the real you, the one who went out of their way to help others despite their own struggles.
One evening, as the group hung out at a quiet park, you were sitting on the grass, talking animatedly about a new project you were excited about. If he was being honest, excitement was a beautiful color on you. And he thinks that he wants to see more of that in you. He could only sigh as he thought about how much you’ve occupied his mind. He shakes his head. Suguru looks above the sky, trying to distract himself while Satoru spoke to everyone about his new date.
“You know, Suguru.” you said, glancing over at him, snapping him back to reality. “I really appreciate how you’ve been around lately. And how not awkward it is between us now. It means a lot to me.”
Suguru raised an eyebrow. “I’m just here because Gojo dragged me along. Don’t get any ideas.”
You laughed, unfazed. “Yeah, yeah. But seriously, you’re not as bad as I thought you’d be. I guess we’re not so different after all.”
He sighed, running a hand through his hair. “Maybe. But don’t get the wrong idea. I’m not here to make friends. I’m here because I have to be.”
Despite his words, you noticed subtle changes in his behavior. He was more engaged in conversations around you, his smiles more frequent, and he’d even started teasing you back. You found yourself drawn to him more and more, your feelings shifting from admiration to something deeper. The way he would look at you, even with his usual aloofness, made your heart race.
After a particularly lively conversation about your favorite books, Suguru caught you off guard with a rare moment of vulnerability. He looked at you with an intensity that made your breath hitch.
“You’re really persistent, you know that?” he said, a hint of a smile tugging at his lips. “I didn’t think I’d be saying this, but you’ve managed to get under my skin.”
You grinned, feeling a rush of hope. “Is that a good thing?”
Suguru looked away, his expression turning more serious. “I’m not sure. I told myself I’d just tolerate you, but… the more I hang around, the harder it is to keep my distance.”
He was fighting it, trying to convince himself that his growing feelings for you were nothing more than an annoyance. “I don’t know what you’re trying to do.” he continued, frustration evident in his voice. “But I’m not someone who easily changes his mind. So don’t expect too much.”
Despite his words, there was a softness in his eyes when he looked at you, a clear sign that he was fighting a losing battle. The more you interacted, the more he found himself charmed by your genuine warmth and infectious enthusiasm. And he didn’t know what to feel about that. He doesn’t know how to react to you.
You were infatuated with him, and it became clear that you wanted his attention—more than just casual conversation, more than friendly banter. You wanted to be the one who made him smile, the one he thought about when he was alone.
And though Suguru tried to keep his distance, you could see the cracks in his resolve. His stoic exterior was melting away, little by little, with every shared laugh, every meaningful conversation. He couldn’t deny the way he felt any longer, no matter how much he tried to convince himself otherwise.
In moments of quiet, when it was just the two of you, Geto Suguru’s demeanor softened. He would catch himself gazing at you with an expression that betrayed his irritation with his own feelings. He was torn between his desire to remain aloof and the undeniable pull he felt towards you. As you continued to be your bubbly, charming self, Suguru found himself drawn to you more and more, fighting a battle he wasn’t sure he wanted to win.
The house party was in full swing by the time you and your friends arrived. The sorority house was buzzing with energy, and the crowd was a mix of familiar faces and new ones. You were excited to be there, especially because you had a date with you—Mark, a guy you had been seeing for a few weeks.
Suguru Geto, always the reserved observer, was there too, though he seemed more detached from the festivities. He had taken a spot near the snack table, his gaze scanning the room. When he noticed you with Mark, he gave a curt nod but didn’t say much.
As the night progressed, Suguru found himself cornered by Mark, who was chatting animatedly with a group of people. You had gone off to mingle with others, leaving Mark to his own devices. Suguru, being the stand-up guy he was, decided to introduce himself.
“Hey, I’m Suguru.” he said, offering a polite smile. “So, what’s your story, bro?”
Mark took a swig of his drink and grinned. “Oh, I’m just here to have a good time, mess around, party hard. You know how it is.”
Suguru nodded, trying to make conversation. “Yeah, I get it. So, how long have you and my friend been seeing each other?”
Mark’s smile faltered slightly. “A few weeks. But, honestly, they're kind of a handful.”
Suguru’s eyes narrowed slightly, but he kept his tone neutral. “Oh? How so?”
Mark shrugged, looking around to make sure no one else was listening. “They’re always so cheerful and in-your-face. It gets old pretty fast. And don’t get me started on their mood swings. Sometimes they’re all sunshine and other times, they’re just… exhausting.”
Suguru’s smile faltered, and he could feel a simmering anger rising. “I wouldn’t say that. They’re actually really kind and caring. Maybe they’re just passionate around you.”
Mark snorted. “Passionate? More like over–dramatic. You must be used to it, though, considering you hang out with them.”
Suguru’s jaw tightened. “I think you should stop talking about them like that.”
Mark raised an eyebrow, clearly enjoying the reaction he was getting. “Why? It’s the truth. You know, they could be a lot better if they just… toned it down a bit.”
Suguru’s eyes darkened as he took a deep breath. “Seriously, stop it.”
Mark continued, oblivious to Suguru’s mounting frustration. “They’re always making everything about themselves, always trying to be the center of attention. I don’t get why you’d even bother with them. They’re literally like….a bitch..”
Without warning, Suguru’s hand tightened around his beer bottle. He took a step forward, his voice low and dangerous. “I said, stop.”
The tension in the room was thick, a simmering undercurrent that everyone felt but no one acknowledged—until Mark pushed too far. He had been needling Suguru all night, his criticisms growing more pointed, more personal with each passing minute. The rest of you tried to steer the conversation away, but Mark wouldn’t let it go, his words becoming sharper, crueler.
Suguru had been holding back, his calm facade cracking only slightly as he tried to keep his temper in check. But when Mark ignored him and continued with his relentless criticisms, something inside Suguru snapped.
In an instant, he moved. With a swift, fluid motion, Suguru swung his beer bottle, the action so smooth it was almost graceful. The bottle connected with Mark’s face with a sharp crack. The impact was immediate and satisfying, sending Mark stumbling backward as beer splashed across the floor, the bottle shattering in Suguru’s hand.
The room fell into stunned silence.
“Goddamn it, Suguru!” Shoko’s voice was the first to break the quiet, a mix of shock and exasperation. She stepped forward, ready to pull Suguru back if needed, though there was a slight smirk playing at the corners of her mouth. “Couldn’t you have at least waited until he finished his drink?”
Nanami, who had been lounging in the corner, raised an eyebrow but didn’t move from his spot. “Well, that escalated quickly.”
Shoko sighed deeply, looking around. “I’ll call someone to clean this up. And maybe get some ice for Mark.”
Mark, clutching his face where Suguru had punched him, looked up in stunned disbelief. “What the hell, man? You’re crazy!”
Suguru’s eyes were cold as he glared down at him. “No. I’m done listening to your crap. You should’ve known when to shut up.”
“You all are a bunch of crazy freaks! Especially that bitch!”
“You don’t get to talk about them like that!” Suguru said, his voice steady but filled with a cold edge. “Not on my watch.”
Mark looked up at him, a mix of pain and surprise in his eyes. He didn’t say anything, just backed away slowly, still holding his nose. Yu came between them. “Hey, hey. Let’s all calm down, okay?”
Suguru turned on his heel and walked away, heading outside to cool down. He needed some fresh air and space to collect his thoughts. You, having witnessed the altercation from a distance, rushed over to Suguru, concern etched on your face.
You spotted Suguru standing alone in the hallway, his gaze distant as he tried to calm down from the confrontation. Determined to get some answers, you made a beeline for him, your concern and curiosity palpable.
“Suguru, what happened back there?” you asked, trying to piece together the events of the night. “Why did you hit Mark?”
Suguru glanced at you, his expression a mix of embarrassment and frustration. “It was nothing. He just… he crossed a line.”
“No,” you said, putting the pieces together with a sudden burst of realization. “He called me a bitch, didn’t he? That’s why you hit him. You hit him for me!”
Suguru looked away, his cheeks tinged with a hint of pink. “No, that’s not—”
“Yes, it is!” you interrupted, your excitement and relief bubbling over. “I know I can be a lot sometimes, and I am a bitch! But you actually care about me. You love me, don’t you?”
Suguru’s face turned a deeper shade of red, and he mumbled, “No…I didn’t…”
Suguru’s thoughts were still a whirlwind, his mind racing to process the events of the night and the emotions that came with them. He needed to clear his head, and talking to Gojo seemed like the quickest way to do that. He excused himself and quickly went back inside. As he entered the kitchen, the room was a stark contrast to the chaos outside—bright, warm, and filled with the comforting aroma of Gojo Satoru’s sandwich-making.
Gojo stood by the counter, casually assembling a towering sandwich with practiced ease. His movements were relaxed and carefree, a stark contrast to the tension that Suguru was radiating. He glanced up, taking in the scene with a curious, slightly amused expression.
“What’s going on, man?” Gojo asked, his tone light as he continued to layer on the ingredients. “I heard there was a bit of a commotion.”
Suguru tried to compose himself, but the frustration was evident in his voice. “Mark was being a complete jerk. He was bad-mouthing them, and I… I lost my temper.”
Gojo raised an eyebrow, his interest piqued. “He was talking about them? What did he say?”
Suguru’s jaw clenched as he recounted the encounter. “He kept going on about how they are a handful and how they’re exhausting. He was just being really disrespectful. Even called them a bitch, mind you!”
Gojo’s eyebrows knitted together in surprise. “And you punched him for it?”
Suguru nodded, his gaze intense. “Yeah, I did. He wouldn’t stop, and I just couldn’t let him keep talking like that.”
Gojo’s expression shifted from amusement to genuine concern. “Are they okay?”
Suguru’s frustration softened a bit as he considered your well-being. “They’re fine. I mean, they did seem surprised, maybe in some way upset, I don’t know. But they’re okay. It’s just… I don’t like seeing them being talked about like that.”
Gojo’s eyes sparkled with a mix of mischief and understanding. “So, you’re defending them, huh?”
Suguru’s face flushed slightly, and he rubbed the back of his neck. “It’s not just about defending them. It’s just—”
Gojo looked up from his sandwich-making with a raised eyebrow. “Yeah, but is your lover okay?”
Suguru froze, caught off guard. “They are not my lover, Gojo.” he snapped, defensively. “They are just—”
Gojo’s eyes sparkled with mischief. “Oh? Then why’d you hit him? Seems like you’re more concerned than you’re letting on.”
Suguru glared at Gojo. “I’m not concerned, I just—”
“Uh–uhuh, keep talking.”
“I’m just some friend—acquaintance. Worried.” Suguru narrowed his eyes. “Seriously, Satoru. I don’t know what you’re going on about. If I'm in love with them, shoot me.”
Without missing a beat, Gojo grinned, “Bang.” He made a playful gun gesture with his hand and gave Suguru a wide grin. “Cupid’s bullets confirm!”
Suguru stared at him, dumbfounded. “Are you serious? This is not—”
Gojo laughed, clearly enjoying the confusion. “Just kidding, Suguru. You know I’m just messing with you.”
Suguru sighed heavily, his frustration giving way to a reluctant chuckle. “You’re impossible, you know that?”
Gojo shrugged, still grinning. “Just having a bit of fun. But seriously, if you need to talk or if something’s going on, I’m here. Just don’t let things like this get you too worked up.”
Suguru nodded, a mix of relief and embarrassment on his face. “Thanks, Gojo. I guess I needed that.”
With a final, reassuring pat on Suguru’s shoulder, Gojo returned to his sandwich-making. He took a deep breath and went back outside. You were talking with Shoko when you noticed Suguru come back outside towards your way. You were about to speak when Suguru turned back to you. There was a softer, more earnest look in his eyes as he met your gaze.
He looked at you with a determination, his voice steady but kind. “Take your coat, doll.” he said, offering it to you. “We’re getting out of here.”
You raised an eyebrow, surprised by his sudden decision but relieved by the prospect of escaping the party. Without protest, you slipped on your coat and followed him out into the cool night air. The contrast between the cold outside and the warmth of the party was a welcome change, the crisp air a refreshing balm against your senses.
As you walked to the parking lot, Suguru’s silence was a comforting presence. His demeanor was calm and purposeful, a stark contrast to the turbulence of the evening. He led you to his car, and you both got in, the engine’s hum a soothing sound against the backdrop of the night.
Soon enough, you found yourselves parked in the lot of a nearby fast-food chain. The neon lights of the restaurant flickered against the dark sky, casting an almost surreal glow over the scene. It felt like a world away from the party, a simple, unpretentious refuge.
Suguru ordered a handful of burgers and fries, his movements deliberate and focused. You followed suit, choosing your favorites with a sense of familiarity. As you both settled on the hood of the car, the comfort of the fast food and the tranquility of the night began to ease the tension.
You took a bite of your burger, the flavors surprisingly comforting. Despite the simplicity of the setting, there was something deeply satisfying about the moment. “This is the best date ever.” you said with a grin, the warmth of the food and Suguru’s presence making the night feel a little brighter.
Suguru looked at you, a bemused expression on his face. “We haven’t talked in half an hour.”
“That doesn’t matter,” you said, shaking your head. “It’s nice just being with you, even if this doesn’t seem like much.”
Suguru looked away, a soft smile tugging at his lips. “It’s not as bad as going bowling.”
You blinked, puzzled. “Bowling? I didn’t know you liked bowling.”
He shrugged, leaning back against the car. “I do. It’s something I enjoy, and being with you is kind of like that—enjoyable and relaxing, even if it’s not always fancy.”
You tilted your head, contemplating his words. Then, feeling bold, you leaned in and pressed a gentle kiss to his lips. Suguru’s eyes widened slightly, but he responded, kissing you back with a tenderness that melted away any remaining tension.
When you finally parted, you looked up at him, a soft smile on your lips. “Not too bad?”
Suguru’s gaze softened as he met your eyes, a genuine smile spreading across his face. “Not too bad.” he agreed, his voice warm.
You both shared a comfortable silence, the world outside the fast-food restaurant feeling a million miles away. As you finished your burgers and settled back into a peaceful quiet, you knew that despite everything, moments like these were what mattered most.
You and Suguru remained on the car hood, finishing off the last of your burgers. The night was crisp and clear, the occasional hum of passing cars providing a steady backdrop to your conversation.
“So, what’s your favorite part about bowling?” you asked, genuinely curious and trying to keep the mood light.
Suguru chuckled, a soft sound that warmed the chilly air. “It’s the combination of skill and luck, I guess. Plus, it’s fun to just throw the ball and watch it knock down the pins. It’s simple, but satisfying.”
You smiled, enjoying his enthusiasm. “Maybe we should go bowling sometime. It sounds like it could be a lot of fun.”
Suguru’s eyes twinkled as he looked at you. “I’d like that. I think you’d be pretty good at it. You’ve got a good arm from throwing those frisbees around at the park.”
You laughed, leaning into him. “You think so? I’ll hold you to that.”
Suguru wrapped an arm around you, pulling you closer. “It’s a promise.”
The warmth of his embrace was comforting, and you snuggled closer, resting your head on his shoulder. The night was quiet, and for a while, you just enjoyed the peacefulness of the moment.
Suguru glanced at you, his expression softening even further. “You know, despite everything that happened tonight, I’m really glad we ended up here. I like these moments with you. They remind me of why I care so much.”
You tilted your head up to look at him, your eyes reflecting the soft glow of the streetlights. “Me too, Suguru. It’s the simple things, like eating burgers and talking about bowling, that make me realize how much I enjoy being with you.”
Suguru gave a small, affectionate smile, his fingers gently brushing against your cheek. “Sometimes, it’s the simple things that mean the most.”
You sighed contentedly, feeling a deep sense of connection. “I guess that’s true. And, even though tonight didn’t go as planned, it ended up being pretty perfect in its own way.”
Suguru chuckled softly, his gaze fixed on you. “Yeah, it did.”
You both sat there for a while longer, sharing soft kisses and quiet laughter, savoring the simplicity of the moment. The night air was cool, but the warmth between you made it feel like the coziest place in the world.
Eventually, Suguru shifted slightly, pulling you closer as he gave you a tender kiss on the forehead. “Let’s head back. I think we’ve had enough excitement for one night.”
You nodded, standing up and stretching as Suguru helped you off the car hood. “Sounds good. But we definitely need to plan that bowling trip soon.”
Suguru laughed, offering you his hand. “It’s a date.”
As you walked back to the car, hand in hand, the night seemed a little brighter, and the world a little warmer. The small, spontaneous moments were what made your time together truly special, and you both knew that, no matter what, you’d always find a way to cherish them.

BAD NEWS | CHAPTER INDEX/PROLOGUE (Part 1-64)
-just when you thought you were over your humongous crush on your older brother’s best friend, geto suguru, you couldn’t be more dead wrong, and maybe there isn’t really anything holding you back from acting on it now that you’re all grown up…except satoru doesn’t like suguru for you because he knows his kind all too well: a huge ass playboy who breaks hearts like he changes socks. but you think. MAYBE you’ll be the exception...maybe not.

GENRE: full-length smau + prose | band au, tats, piercings, the whole shebang | college au | stupid pining | aged-up characters | friends to lovers (?) | this is gonna have smutty stuff because why not?
TW/CW: strong/mature language | adult content so mdni on some parts; just skip them. you’re not missing much | mentions of alcohol, drugs | mentions of cheating, promiscuity, mild dubcon (consent >>>), etc. | again, god-awful pet names i’d cringe at if a 3d person says it | toxic behavior | will add more if something arises
AKI’S NOTES: I would like to express my sincerest thanks to everyone who loved and supported “Thawing Ice Queen” as well as those who participated in the poll on which smau I’m going to write next. So, this is what won in said poll, and I hope it gets as much as love as TIQ if not more. Reblogs and likes are very much appreciated, and I actively respond to comments as well as Asks. Also, if you’re interested, I will include you in the tag list. Just message me through whatever avenue you’re most comfortable with. Happy reading!
ADDITIONAL NOTES: i will be using pics and other media which would fit situations and make the smau-ness of this piece a little more realistic and entertaining when i believe it’s appropriate/fitting to the plot (as i've done with TIQ). having said that, with regard to inclusivity, i just want to put it out there that they will not necessarily be aimed as the exact descriptions to fit a supposedly generic reader nor will they be representative of a specific race or color (even if you’re/the reader is gojo’s sister here). it’s all for the simple fact of media availability, for funsies and the fact that i don’t exclusively write in consideration of those aspects when using reader-insert characters unless i specify it. thank you for understanding.

Just some thoughts on the observable pairs we see - satosugu and itafushi. Not really an analysis or anything - just sharing my observations. Blabbing as usual. I’m sure I’ll miss something, so feel free to comment or reblog!
Word vomit under cut (please be warned: I did say I wanted to blab ;_;)
I shared a more concise version on X but I guess I wanted to elaborate in a stream of consciousness style.
So here I am. Here you are. Feel free to click away if you’re get bored 🤓
There are parallels between Gojo & Geto and Yuji & Megumi; however, they’re inherently different people. I came across some tweets rethinking the last words in jjk 0, saying things like: this is how stsg should’ve done it, etc.
Yeah, I do get it... just... I just think they’re different people within a different set of circumstances. Could it have been different? Sure. But if they could have a chance to re-do something - at what point would one pick? How would that even guarantee the best outcome? No Toji? Haibara doesn’t die? Gojo admits he is lonely? Or Geto admitting he is lonely?
Mind you, they learnt about love through their separation... How would those lessons have been learnt? There would be no guarantees of Teacher AU being a reality. It would be nice, but that would be straying from the story that has been masterfully - albeit painfully littered with ANGST - written by Gege Akutami.
It is enough for me that Gojo and Geto reconciled at the end of their lives. Salvation. Being together for what could be eternity (for as long as they chose to stay) in 236 is, for me, already a beautiful bittersweet love story. Especially after all they’d been through. Anyway. My point is... context matters. I don’t really enjoy discourse over who did it better. They had what they had. They made the most of what they had. And the tragedy is what is relatable and is beautiful too. So once again, they’re unique characters within a setting that is different.
Their bonds are therefore, by extension, also very different, although there are similarities. I don’t want to engage in debates over which is superior - that’s not my point, intention or interest. They’re different and appreciable within their own uniqueness.
Friendship is friendship, and love is love, after all. But even within the expression of affection and love, our individual needs and/or methods of expressing such emotions will differ.
I think to consider themes and what insights we can gain from these two… We have to look at their situations in its entirety. Gojo, Nanami, and others from that generation learned about the necessity to protect the youth.
So I think: compared to what Yuji and Megumi had, it seems as if what Gojo and Geto had (in terms of emotional safety and intimacy) were with each other - and it was somewhat lacking due to their own individual limitations. They had no other significant persons to speak of - at least, for certain, for Gojo. Since we don’t know Geto’s history aside from how he had human parents and he was scouted <- But more on this later.
What Yuji and Megumi had was by no means adequate, I don’t think, but at least from what we can infer from Gojo and Geto, it was more than what they had. Not only because the adults within the sorcery world like Yaga, Nanami, Gojo, Shoko (perhaps?), and Ino were more involved than whoever else were teachers during Gojo & Geto’s time - but Yuji had gramps and Megumi had Tsumiki who offered the a glimpse of what familial love is.
They had some form of a secure bond in another person to offer a sense of security and inherent worth. Megumi lesser than Yuji, but this is also why we see him as an avoidant-ambivalent kind of person who is also much like his father who grew up emotionally deprived and rejected. His sense of worth came from being independent and aloof despite being emotionally and psychologically deep (and parched for compassionate & authentic human connection).
The school itself seemed to have more teachers and fellow students. Possibly fewer curses due to Geto’s active efforts for 10 years to amass 6k for the Night Parade. Furthermore, more sorcerers may mean fewer student casualties (fewer deaths like Haibara’s) and improved manpower to counter curses. And when it came to Yuji’s time, not only was he personally rather resilient, he had companionship with Nobara, Megumi, Todo, Choso... that bordered on familial love and likely assisted with maintaining his sanity when faced with the gruesome cruelties he witnessed & endured.
And circling back to Geto: We don’t know what Geto had growing up, but for him to be that emotionally attached to Gojo, and that way inclined to immediately rise to fury (at the abuse of the girls + having been asked to kill them) and seek to avenge, protect and become a parent in his teens - can can assume he was somewhat parentified himself. Meaning, he likely learned the need to play this role during his formative years - likely him childhood.
He felt highly responsible for everyone and his personality was as such where he took things very seriously & earnestly. The parallel was drawn between him and Yuta - the original “parallel pairing” from jjk 0. The world he was shown was far too cruel; especially for someone who felt the weight of the world on his shoulders and didn’t know how to share it with someone who he probably saw Gojo as shouldering it in his own way. The perfectionist that was Geto who tried to live sincerely and be a role model ended up falling through a gap, leaving him with no choice but to force himself to keep living towards some kind of a redemptive goal, within a punishing life consuming vile curse after curse (his only source of stress), to either succeed a crazy dream, or die trying to Gojo’s hand. But he remained true to himself - Geto lived for others. He was only ever shown to be selfish with one thing: Gojo. (Don’t follow me: It won’t be bad to die by your hand. I’m envious.)
They had no capacity - knowledge, experience, or language to reconcile their differences. It wasn’t as if anyone showed them how to share the burden. Right? Throughout HI - did anyone offer comfort to Geto? That man was so very much like a “mum” who mops up shit and vomit without complaining. The emotional and mental burden. I wrote about this before - Gojo is masculine-coded (Yang energy). Geto is Yin. This is another parallel with Megumi and Yuji. Shadows - Yin. Yuji is kind of dazzling isn’t he? Light, heat, strength. Yang.
And Gojo? The “sheltered but forced to grow up too quickly” boy probably never knew what being nurturing love or unconditional love meant until Geto came along. Probably never thought he needed it. When touched by someone’s love and compassion like this - isn’t it natural to just react to it? To lean into it like a monkey separated from its mother, with only a warm furry surrogate to cling onto? Never thought he needed it until it was no longer there. Why? It would be enough to inflict some kind of an identity crisis for someone like Gojo Satoru. How could someone NOT want him for his strength?! For the first time Gojo Satoru probably felt a vulnerability he could not bring himself to eliminate.
With a background like theirs: It’s no wonder what they developed was a form of codependency. They complemented one another in so many ways - it was effortless and natural. Both strong, both intrigued by each other, could keep up with conversations, engage in mischievous cheekiness, etc.
They almost/probably(?) completed one another - but of course, what fulfils a person cannot just be one other person alone. Especially as a monster like Gojo Satoru with a thirst for fulfilment of his powers and someone like Geto Suguru who needed to have a deep meaning and purpose in life.
Think about a sportsperson and a philanthropist, respectively. Neither should be expected to concede to the other and be forced to be satisfied with the other alone. It doesn’t and shouldn’t work that way.
The respect and love they had for each other was profound. It was beyond themselves. So they did their best to support each other without an open conversation in the 10 years - just like a quiet love. Apart from each other. Despite the time and distance, their selfishness and possessiveness for each other was also telling of their twisted love - it’s crazy exclusivity. Geto calling Yuta a womaniser simply for healing/having a friend in Maki and then processing his love for Rika? That still makes me chuckle. As much as Gojo liking dogs (source GIGA character book) because Geto was once mistaken for Takeru the dog. 😂 unbelievable. Other examples: I’ll die to your hand. If you were there I’d be satisfied. Hm. Yeah. Crazy exclusivity. Almost at the expense of themselves...
Anyway. In terms of bonds: The codependency between Gojo & Geto is both a positive & negative. Maybe a byproduct of their generation & lack of emotional support within that time. The title as the strongest was a burden to Gojo & Geto (together and individually) that was different to that of what Yuji and Megumi carry respectively. So the context, era, setting, etc. would’ve shaped them differently too.
It’s also worth remembering that Megumi’s level of self importance, like Yuji, is not like that of Gojo or Geto who carried the weight of huge responsibility from a young age. Their bond was also therefore a little bit more twisted comparative to what Yuji and Megumi have.
And despite the short time together, we do see a the beginnings of preciousness between them with Yuji being determined to at least reach Megumi with a conversation in his fight with Sukuna - despite the insane power difference.
It’s absolutely mind-blowing when I think about this teenager going head to head with this old fart who is on the level of a calamity and has taken countless lives. And earlier on, soulful yet apprehensive Megumi not wanting someone compassionate like Yuji to die. Even making a request with Gojo to do something about it. Like a sense of inner knowing that the other was someone special and worth protecting. Yin is also associated with intuition.
They also underwent transformation where “if you die I’ll kill you” is now replaced by a different dialogue spurred on by Megumi’s honest narrative of the simple pleasures of living… and the devastation of his very down to earth/humble dreams being dashed and Yuji’s heartfelt response that showed acceptance and love beyond himself for Megumi’s plight. It was really moving. The power of such a love and the capacity of Yuji to grow as he did. Perhaps it was also because he was given the ingredients (love, faith, friendship, belief, resolve, etc.) to nourish him whenever he faced adversity. I mean, resilience is about growing from “trauma” and overcoming the tendency to hide which can result in becoming brittle (therefore weak).
Anyway. They’re like Gojo & Geto on a speedrun. But that is not the only difference… The forcible nature of having their bodies & wills violated - taken over as vessels for Sukuna- used to commit crimes against their desires - is something they share. A point of reference that can lend itself to relating to one another. It stimulates protectiveness. Compassion & connection.
Surely a common enemy changes things? Gojo & Geto could not see eye to eye when it came to it. Timing wasn’t on their side. Almost as it lateness was a theme. It was difficult to be vulnerable to one another. It almost mimics real life generational differences. They existed in a different world. When a common enemy is present, it is normal to rally together. Once again, their roles were different. Stronger than their sensei. Their expectations will be different as a result. Tengen requested their assistance.
Were the younger generation shielded from such burdens? I’d say so. Those on the frontlines within the school probably also changed (a little) after Geto defected, especially with Gojo using his influence to save and protect his students. We saw how Yaga reflected on his regrets as a teacher, relating to Gojo who opted to be a teacher too.
I think it was horrendous how nobody really noticed or anticipated that Geto would struggle the way he did. It was left to a peer (Gojo) we had no personal resources to support Geto in his own youth. It didn’t make sense. There was a lot lacking, as we know. It was a different time with someone to shield the young sorcerers to some degree. There was already a “strongest” (Gojo) when they were born.
Further, Gojo did his best to offer the kids something different - with Megumi having a different option to the Zenin & Nanami’s involvement with Yuji.
Their loneliness have subtle differences, so Gojo wasn’t lonely (in 236) with the companionship of others after being taught how to connect with people by Geto, but he still needed Geto to feel fully satisfied.
I think that’s why Geto said he was envious, because he assumed after hearing those words that Gojo was fully satisfied - eventhough his last words to Geto must have implied that Geto was important to him. Geto had a void that only Gojo could fill but he was, as ever, conceding enough in his love for Gojo to say “as long as you’re satisfied I’m relieved for you.”
Gojo corrected him by telling him he still needed him to feel fully satisfied. Implying it was something only Geto could fulfil. Gojo’s heart grew to accommodate his students and everyone but the shape in his heart of Geto was for Geto to fill.
Similarly for Geto, when he defected, he also wore the Gojo kesa like a lingering connection (longing/codependency). He did not feel he could smile as sincerely as he once could after he committed the crime and had to leave his best friend’s side to pursue the only option left.
Their love was somewhat twisted in nature, as it blessed/saved & cursed them equally. They needed other things to fulfil them but their bond was irreplaceable.
I’ll say it again: a partner’s place isn’t replaceable by students, children, friends, etc. Especially if it was someone you truly love. You can grow around the grief but the shape left behind by that person is still the same shape of that person.
Another way I conceptualise it is how they feel that the other completes them. On their own they feel incomplete. Lacking. Therefore to Gojo, Geto was a part of him. So he would feel incomplete (as a person) without Geto - within this kind of codependent bond.
It was noticed by others like Shoko who pictured them as a pair who seemed like nothing could come between them. A pair who she could never fall in love with individually, or offer to one what the other offered... (love, of course) but she was there. Shoko was never one to shoulder the burden of strength and the involvement it entails, but shouldered the entirety of having to witness passively (helplessly) from the sidelines. This was symbolic of their roles. Fighter versus medic. Gojo & Geto in a world of their own. They were the strongest. Somehow this role mattered to them. What a burden of responsibility that could erode their human nature. Don’t you think?
Back to parallels: With Yuji & Megumi, their relationship is younger. Despite the year between them the apprehensive Megumi already trusted Yuji so much that he considered him a brother on the same level as his sister. He’s a good judge of character. I always enjoyed how perceptive Megumi was.
With the loss of Tsumiki, I’m sure the bond will change / deepen as he realises his value as a person (not just observer standing behind Yuji & Tsumiki) with a new reason to live/fight. Adopting the same purpose as Yuji, perhaps, for each other. We do not know how much they rely on the other for fulfilment, but I’m encouraged that their bond will be unique and rich after these life experiences. How could it not be? How could Megumi not respond to such a kind & heartfelt expression of sincerity? Because Yuji isnt asking anything of Megumi : he was very simply saying: I’ll accept you, Megumi. What a demonstration of unconditional love and compassion. Incredible. It reminded me of how Gojo found the words to say to Geto to save his soul at the end of jjk 0. But once again, lateness seems to be a theme for the older generation.
As it stands, Megumi wished to see Tsumiki with Yuji and he observed from behind. Once again his level of self importance wasn’t high. Neither was Yuji who felt he was a cog in the wheel, a sacrificial vessel, etc. until recently. Gojo and Geto grew with the notion that had set roles to fulfil as the strongest. This was true of the time. And when we think of who they had around them… each other. Gojo and Geto were very codependent so they’d imagine themselves walking together. But in the end I can see how Geto felt like he was watching Gojo from behind. And Gojo felt he watched Geto leave - twice over; the final time to his own hand. Thank goodness for 236.
So I think the relationships have parallels but they are different… I don’t think this can translate into the last words in 0. Gojo admitting he will miss Geto or that he would be lonely - would sound too much like a curse. Thematically the only thing that fits is “I love you”. But the unsaid implications for the feelings (will we meet again, loneliness, my best friend, I love you, etc.) were all hinted at.
The similarities between them as individuals are many, for example : Geto and Yuji consume curses, and I think the intimate knowledge of this helped them have empathy. Geto and Megumi manipulate shadows/curses/creatures. Gojo and Yuji are strong in constitution and cope with adversity with resilience. Further, Gojo and Yuji suffered loss of someone important and witnessed their suffering, allowing them to let go out of compassionate mercy, despite the loneliness it created for themselves. Gojo and Megumi were blessed with historically revered Cursed Techniques. Being vessels also became a parallel: Yuji and Megumi to Sukuna & Geto to Kenjaku and Gojo to Kenjaku’s technique via Yuta. In this sense, Yuji and Gojo both became vessels upon their own volition.
For someone like Gojo he may not have struggled with the loss of comrades in the past and in the future. Geto did and this was also what broke him without the support to maintain his emotional wellbeing. Yuji saw far too much tragedy within a short space of time and the difference is not only in his personality but the availability of people around him who regarded him as family - Todo, Choso, etc. Megumi is like Geto in that sense where they were selective in who they wished to save, knowing their limitations maybe, or the wickedness within their flawed humanity. But the loss of the important ones also broke them. So I think in that way they respected and admired those who could remain objective like Yuji and Gojo.
Loneliness was a given. Gojo could not ask Geto to live, & at the end of 0 Geto must have thought that someone (strong & objective) like Gojo who raised such students & could cope with the deaths of others better than he, should be allowed to keep living on a righteous path after all - so he could die with a peaceful heart knowing he was loved by Gojo even after “leaving him behind” and urged to live righteously on a different path. He also didn’t kill any sorcerers which was the group he chose to protect.
They were both lonely in life, needed each other to feel complete (codependency), so in 236 they reunited as a form of salvation. As many others have said... 236 was also like a comfort for satosugu fans because without it, 261 would’ve been even more painful.
With just 5 chapters until the end... I’m not really ready for the series to end, but I’m so grateful Gege sees that he can can finish it as he envisions. Hopefully we get a satisfying conclusion to Yuji & Megumi (and end up getting some bonus side stories or backstories).
Ah I’ve rambled far too much. All this is just my opinion / observations of course. Parallels are parallels but they don’t necessarily overlap. I’m looking forward to seeing how the relationships of the new generation will unfold.
…and not forgetting about the fate of Yuta & Rika 😣 since they go back into 0 & have similar parallels with the pairs.
Hopefully curses can save people’s souls too...

Heyy so I've readed your fanfic A Typical Family and I can't stop re reading it because, well, let's just say that the manga is not at it's finest (Prettysureyouknowwhatimean.) and your fanfic is doing a great job helping me with my mental stability caused by Gege Akutami 😀 so thank you!
I love everything, I sure as hell needed that fluff. But one of the things I like the most is actually y/n's past, I like that you didn't went into details about what happened to her and it was just mentioned like two or three times. I like that a lot because it makes the character more intriguing and you give the reader the posibility of being as creative as possible when it comes to her past, I atleast came up with a few ideas of how she used to live.
But after Chapter 29 I couldn't help myself but wonder what really happened to y/n with her family during her youth. In details. Because I felt that there was A LOT going on-
So yeah, that's why I searched for you in tumblr, fell in love with you after scrolling down your account for a bit (which means hours) and decided to ask you if you could specify more about her past? What happened to her? How was her daily life living in a place where she was missunderstood by her own parents? How did her parents treated her? Did she always felt lonely? Is that why she's so insecure when she became a mother? I REALLY am intrigued.
Thanks again for everything and let's hope to find that annoying cat's hideout 😄🔪
(idoindeedunderstandexactlywhatyoumean)
ah. my dear reader.
she started as just an archetype of sorts, i suppose. like a person in my head but not enough of a person to interfere with the story in any particular way
the focus was abandonment issues so that satoru/suguru leaving could actually have some purpose.
but as i’m sure everyone is well aware—i don’t do simplicity, and i wholeheartedly believe that each and every character (in any media) should be a little… messed up? hurt? battling their own demons??
i think about things in the ways that it’ll improve or harm a story. and satoru leaving reader after being left by everyone else—that’s what i latched on to originally
(actually originally originally it was just a one-shot of megumi calling reader mom and being upset about it… ah how things change)
so i continued with that idea and im not sure when exactly i decided that her parents were awful, but they were. it made it easier for her to avoid talking to satoru about any issues, and easier to understand why she would care so much about these kids and them growing up with (no offense to gojo) a child for a father.
and at the beginning you can tell (or maybe only i can idk) that she is less self conscious about herself, and more worried about the kids. how are they going to react to this? how can a recently graduated person become a mother in under an hour? so it’s not that she’s insecure because she didn’t have a good childhood—that’s just how she is. too thoughtful, a bit anxious.
(mostly just to tie in satoru and readers relationship because i figured they’d need some balancing somewhere)
but then as the characters become more of their own, i needed more from her character. why does she care about these kids so much beyond just having morals? why do they trust her almost immediately?
and this began in the part where she’s consoling tsumiki—because i wanted to give baby a moment sorry not sorry. suddenly she missed her estranged parents and understood how sad miki felt. how much losing your mother matters.
but i’ve always made it fairly clear that tsumiki is just trusting. so easy one there.
but with megumi—reader is more worried that satoru is going to raise him under his wing. and obviously, that’s a horrible decision. satoru is barely a normal teenager to reader so… yeah she doesn’t trust him with megumi. who is obviously impressionable and easy to persuade.
plus the boy is rough for a six year old—needs a gentler hand than some people (ahem, satoru) can give him.
but unlike tsumiki, megumi was going to take time. so instead of a moment they have lots of little things—like the fact that she can read his emotions even when he’s trying to close them off, or that she watches him interact with both tsumiki and satoru very differently.
their trust is built on silence—but once megumi can depend on someone there’s really no going back.
and none of this has anything to do with reader necessarily—but her foundation is made from the two children, and satoru.
and then i had to push some more on the two of them. because—they are in love (they don’t say it ever, but it’s obvious), but they need a reason to hide it.
for satoru it’s because he has been raised to be the most important thing, and to not really trust anyone. and when suguru leaves he realizes that no matter what no one will understand him—he’ll always be a level ahead, a step too high.
so for reader it has to be different. some echoes of pain. and as soon as i realized how scared she was for megumi—i had to give her a reason to be scared. i imagine that she’s always been terrified of jujutsu, not because it’s difficult or because there was some nasty curses, but because it essentially ruined her life.
i imagine her parents to be average, run of the mill people. i think she depended on them when she was very young, and was naturally trusting (like tsumiki) as a child. she’s the type to believe that her parents are the best people in the world.
but once a little girl begins to see things that aren’t there—to scream and hide in closets, or cry while being dragged into the kitchen—things shift.
i don’t think it was bad at first, but when her cursed technique manifested, her parents understood that she was something other.
outwardly, they provided everything a child needs. food, home, clothes, education. but they refused to listen to her when something was wrong, they would leave the room when she entered—because she carried that negative presence with her.
so, i think to reader, they treated her like she was the curse.
and when yaga shows up, rattling about jujutsu high and these strange things that only the two of them would be able to understand, there was no returning back into the child her parents had loved.
she was different. too different for them to understand—or want to even try to.
i doubt they gave her a choice in going to school. if they could get her out of their house, get her curse out of there—they were going to.
(not to mention that there’s no reason for her to stay at home—not with two people who couldn’t care less about her).
so she was essentially sent away at fifteen and (like reader says) they were gone not too long after that.
(i think both the first and second years found out about this because yaga was trying to be nice and tell them not to push and accidentally revealed too much information. also he’s a gossip oops).
with the type of childhood she had—bad but not awful, nothing to run from—it makes it hard for her to connect with other people. and reader truly does believe she is the curse because that’s all she’s been taught.
but everyone at jujutsu high can understand, even if it’s the smallest amount. going there changes her life, simply put.
with at least five other people there to understand the things that she does—the burden is divided equally among all of them. she doesn’t have to hold it all alone.
so she connects with suguru, begins to realize she was just a child and not a problem. she learns how to control her cursed technique and is no longer scared that she’s doomed to forever push people away.
and she makes friends. friends make all the difference in the world, obviously.
plus, there’s satoru and he’s a burden of his own.
but at least she gets to choose it this time, no matter how difficult he makes it.
#this was in the drafts and i thought#ah what the hell#(get it? i’m funny)#literally just me going on about my half developed character#so many head canons for this world you wouldn’t believe it#a typical family

I think i’m so frustrated because at the end of the day I cannot even summarise Gojo’s character arc nor can I define him as a person.
Don’t get me wrong: I love that he’s a complexe character full of contradictions. That’s what makes him compelling but it all feels so incomplete.
The only thing I can say with Absolutely no doubt is that he loved Suguru more than life and death. It’s beautiful and poetic and romantic but It’s not enough for me.
The last chapter makes it seem IMO like he didn’t really care about his students but I know It’s much more complicated than that. I love morally grey characters but when their arc is concluded like this it just seems like they’ll forever be in Schrodinger’s box.
Half of the fanbase thinks it was completely in character for him to do like that, the other half doesn’t agree. And i’m part of the latter. How do you die peacefully when you couldn’t even bury Geto’s body. A body that was violated because of your own mistake????? Akutami, please.
I really need to rewatch the first season and analyse him better. Maybe i’m missing something important but he can’t be THAT selfish and detached. Selfish and detached yes but not to that extent.

I almost couldn't 🫠 but thank God I was busy at work today, and it managed to take this off my mind. now I feel better, and I learn to accept it as the day is ending soon. 😭
how is jjk left with one more chapter, I do not understand how Gege is gonna end all these shit with one unless he is planning for a sequel. 😪
holy shit, while I am typing this, my country is suddenly experiencing another squall. another thing to take this off my mind 😂👍🏽
I hope you’re having a better day and week!! 💕
For me, it hits twice as hard because the 236 leaks came out on the 15th anniversary of my grandmother’s death. It’s rough every year, but last year was especially awful for so many reasons. Probably didn’t help that my ex-husband was the opposite of supportive and usually belittled the fact that I missed her so much… but I digress. There are many reasons he’s my ex-husband now. 😬
Idk how I feel about it finally ending except relieved. I get the sense that Akutami isn’t thrilled with how quickly things need to wrap up, but after all the breaks he’s taken for his health, I think he just wants it to end so he can have a longer break.
I’m gonna be honest and say I really hope he doesn’t set up a sequel.
Oopsie Kiko ranted a bit so it’s below the cut 🙃
Dude has needed so many breaks due to his health over the past year, and this ending feels a bit rushed but I think it’s because of his health. I hope he just takes some much needed time to rest and then he makes something completely different and is able to create without the crazy pressure he’s had with JJK. He’s in his early thirties and is already well on his way to joining the likes of Kubo and Togashi with his bad health.
Mangakas are put under an insane amount of pressure, so I hope JJK’s success will help alleviate some of that with whatever Akutami works on next. Gotta remember that this is his first big series and it blew up. His manga is being called one of the big three of shonen, and he’s still so young. Hopefully he has even more incredible successes and we can also get the time to emotionally recover so we can prepare for him to hurt us again 😂
Anyway, thank you for checking in and letting me know how you’re doing! I hope things only get better for you 💕💕💕 (and that you’re safe in the midst of your country’s chaos!!)

WHAT IS A HAPPY ENDING?
Is it the happy? Or is it the ending?
Every story must come to an end. It could be happy or not. Satisfying or not. If you had read as many stories as I had, you probably met good and bad endings. And probably noticed that a bad ending mostly destroys the rest of the story. It leaves a feeling that it wasn’t enough, something was missing.
Through out this journey of a reader, I had seen many people displeased only because there was no happy at the ending. And, honestly, that is a poor literary review. Of course I like happy endings, that’s why I read light novels. Because the happy is certain. But what I truly like is an end that is faithful to its own story. Happy or not.
Akutami Sensei is proving me right.
Since the beginning of Jujutsu Kaisen, the mangaka has been saying that the world of a jujutsu is nothing but pain. A sorcerer is someone who’s going to be killed metaphorically and eventually literally. Even better, the author is asking us, the readers, if we are ready to move on, not Itadori Yuji. Itadori was always ready. That said, that could never be a happy ending.
Also, when Akutami presented Sukuna to us, the author made it clear how powerful and destructive he was. More than that, Akutami built this image of him through out the whole series. So, it couldn’t have been different than it is now: a catastrophe.
To remain faithful to the monster Akutami created as Sukuna, he couldn’t been defeated just like that. It would involve sacrifices. But not one or two. But sacrifices for them all. The death of Gojo Satoru was only the tip of the iceberg and the humanity of Jujutsu’s most human character, Okkotsu Yuta, was the base of it.
Also, the line is so well structured. Have you noticed how at any time they were talking about a difficult situation or a big amount of power, Okkotsu were always mentioned? If you haven’t, read again. It was always hinted that Okkotsu was going to be the big triumph of the story.
No, I didn’t read Jujutsu Kaisen without sharing a tear. Actually, I cried and still cry a a huge amount. But I can’t ignore the wonderful work of an author. An author that has the ability to make you love or hate the characters created. An author that takes advantage of this ability to destroy those characters before your eyes. And an author that is faithful to the story. Gege Akutami doesn’t deserve the words of hate, nor the childish threats. If anything, Gege Akutami deserves our applause.

Too Flawless (Gojo Satoru Playlist)
I made a Gojo playlist not to long ago... and then more playlists for other characters too. Lol. Anyway, thought I’d share it now. → [Spotify Link]

6. Trust Issues - Emei I mean, Gojo has this whole grand ambition to change all of jujutsu society because he doesn't trust the ones who do control it. (For good reason.)
Calling them incompetent 'cause I might need control Recovering perfectionist, I'm learning to let go
7. Teeth - 5 Seconds of Summer POV: The singer talking about Gojo. Reminded of that one comment Akutami made about how he can't imagine Gojo being sincere to a woman specially.

I got that Blindfold Swag, that limitless energy, I'm a menace to society, woah
19. My Ordinary Life - The Living Tombstone So many of the lyrics are so on point I'm left baffled.
They tell me that I'm special, I smile and shake my head I'll give them stories to tell friends about the things I said They tell me I'm so humble, I say, "I'm turning red" They let me lie to them and don't feel like they've been misled They give so much to me, I'm losing touch, get me? Served on a silver platter, ask for seconds, they just let me
///
They tell me I'm a god, I'm lost in the facade Six-feet off the ground at all times, I think I'm feeling odd No matter what I make, they never see mistakes Makin' so much bread, I don't care that they're just being fake They tell me they're below me, I act like I'm above The people blend together but I would be lost without their love
///
Can you heal me? Have I gained too much? When you become untouchable, you're unable to touch Is there a real me? Pop the champagne It hurts me just to think and I don't do pain
19. Shame On Me - Avicii Closing out with the second song chosen by Akutami. Pretty sure he's trying to tell something to those who love Gojo. lmao
I'm baptized and born again Imma raise hell to the bitter end I'm a crazy little bitch in the first degree Shame on you for loving me

Misogyny within New Supernatural Shonen
There's a thread on Twitter that everyone is rightfully dunking on that compares Jujutsu Kaisen and Bleach. And one of its ways of doing that is a statement that "Women don’t get oversexualized and actually serve a purpose in the story other than just being fap material" in JJK.
While there's some obvious "telling-on-yourself-there" involved in that statement, I wanted to use this as a jumping-off point to talk about two Bleach-inspired manga and their treatment of girls and women: Demon Slayer by Koyoharu Gotouge and Jujutsu Kaisen by Gege Akutami.
This is coming from the perspective of someone who is completely caught up with the JJK manga as it is right now (chapter 233) and has read the entire Demon Slayer manga. Spoilers will be below.
Quick note: both are referred to using gender-neutral terms and Gotouge reportedly is incredibly uncomfortable using feminine terms to refer to themself. People often base using she/her pronouns for Gotouge off a supposed leak of a Shonen Jump staffer, but I am going to respect how both present themselves and refer to both using they/them pronouns.
Gege has stated that a reason there is not a lot of fanservice is that their parents read the manga. It could be them joking to make it seem more palatable (apparently SJ editors push fanservice a lot), but either way. It's how they chose to present their choice.
First, more generally, less sexualization =/ respect or even tolerance for women. Look at Naruto, which had less sexualization than Bleach but definitely hated its female characters.
Secondly, both of these series publish(ed) in Shonen Jump, which has a uniquely notorious reputation around its treatment of female characters. Even more so than most shonen magazines.
Jujutsu Kaisen
As of the now, the following female characters are either dead or missing and presumed dead by their surrounding events:
Mai (Maki’s twin sister, killed to power her up)
Nobara (not confirmed, but she received a massive head injury from Mahito as shock value for Itadori. Even if she's alive, she's been out of action for a very very long time)
Yuki (not confirmed, but. Uh. She definitely is dead unless some weird shit happens. Her tag-team partner is alive)
As of now, two of the introduced new female characters are both motivated by the love of a major character.
One majorly powerful character joins because she has a crush on Megumi.
The person who took control of Megumi’s sister is obsessed with Sukuna.
Romantic love is never stated as a primary motivation for any of the male characters.
Lastly, I want to point out that there ARE some sexualized characters. There’s Uro, a newer character who is naked and uses her cursed technique to cover herself. And there’s Mei Mei. Who sleeps with her baby (and by baby I mean he is a literal child) brother naked.
A lot of people have talked about how it’s super weird that the main female character is basically treated like a pet who can also fight but doesn’t get to talk until later in the manga. Like, this is a foundational problem. She is the most prominent female character.
Quick aside: A lot of the “no sexualization” thoughts come from people who seem to conflate intentional choices with art style. I noticed this with Chainsaw Man. Sorry, it’s still an active choice to have that character in her underwear. And the author probably knew what the choice implied. Just because the art isn’t typical sexy art doesn’t mean it’s not doing something.
Demon Slayer
Jumping over to Demon Slayer. Demon Slayer has a problem. Its problem I’d argue is worse than JJK. And that problem starts with Nezuko.
Shinobu is notably weaker physically. Which can be realistic – and I’ll discuss that in a minute. Mitsuru is the opposite. She’s super strong. But… was given a ribbon sword? For some reason? And given an excuse not to be muscular.
There’s also Daki, the one female Upper Rank. And she’s portrayed as childish and overly emotional.
These are all real things women can be, but when you have so few significant female characters that follow what are pretty typical stereotypes and trends, that’s a pattern. If you want to write these characters, write other ones to contrast them.
The lack of more female characters, when there are tons of men and boys who get different personalities and characterization, is the problem.
In Conclusion
So, Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen have problems regarding girls and women. Just because another series is worse in your opinion doesn't mean they don't exist. Misogyny can be pretty bad in shonen, especially in Shonen Jump published manga.
There are probably more aspects that I missed about these two, but I think it's important for fans to be cognizant of these biases where they occur. Not just in series that you're personally mad it. But also in ones you like and enjoy.

Jujutsu Kaisen - Gege Akutami Vol. 0-8: A not quite nice commentary. Anime spoilers. (*If you’re sensitive about the franchise, don’t read this. I have a complicated relationship with it, which boils down to “I want to like it, but I’m just not feeling it, waahh.”)
-Yuta’s eyes looking like he hasn’t slept in fifty years always catches my attention.
-I really like the composition of the panels.
-Me, thinking that Rika is a cute, innocent girl. That manga extra: “She’s manipulative of adults, dislikes everyone but Yuta, and her grandmother believed she killed both of her parents.”
-Imagine having a random guy that you don’t recognize as Gojo-sensei coming in clapping after your big fight and announcing the end of Rika’s curse. You’d feel like you’re in a reality show.
-Megumi really saw Yuji and said, “I simp.”
-Like, is Yuji okay? Emotionally? His non-responsiveness to his grandfather’s death?
-I also had this issue with the anime, I often feel like I’m missing chunks of connective thoughts.
-I’m sorry, but the manga is visually much cooler than the anime.
-That’s the thing, they keep spewing ~deep lines, and it’s like, cool but what do you mean??? What does that have to do with anything?? It’s being cryptic for the flashy effect of being cryptic rather than a character being naturally, genuinely mysterious, and it bugs me.
-I genuinely think the anime didn’t do enough justice to the manga, I’m hoping s2 will be a step up (not the movie, the movie was great).
-Usually I like the mangakas’ notes, but here I’m like, please Akutami-sensei, wdym you didn’t know that women could be fit
-I don’t like the goodwill event arc, it’s all over the place, but I knew I wouldn’t like it already from the anime. But the art? The art slaps.
-Nanami younger than Gojo :O
-My issue with Yuji is, I don’t find him a convincing moral-high-ground protagonist. He says the things he should, does the things he should, but they don’t feel tethered to anything, it feels like “this is what should happen now.”
-Yesss, Akutami-sensei agrees that Mechamaru looks like Shishio, teehee!
-Megumi simps for Yuji so hard.
-”To suffer defeat or experience victory - we grow regardless. Results are important because they exist as results.” Hey, I like that.
-The manga is funny, the anime doesn’t make it justice :(
-So many explanations .-.
-Yayyy, I’m on non-anime story time, finally.
-Wth happened to Geto, going from this to that?
-Akutami-sensei is not particularly fond of Yuji? The lead? Huh.
-I understand Gojo is popular as is, but I’m on team “let your hair down, darling.”
-Ooh, nice! I didn’t expect a Gojo stab! Oh. It had no consequences, nvm.
-Akutami-sensei, “I don’t really understand what you’re sayin’” on cursed techniques more than half the time, but I’m working with it, don’t worry about it.

jjk chapter 253 spoilers under the cut !!
WAHHHHHHHHHHHHH THIS CHAPTER…….. 😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫 one of my favs in a while i think IT WAS SO SO GOODDDDDD
FIRST OF ALL. GOJO CRUMBS 😭😭😭😭🥺🥺🥺😞😞😞😞😞😭😭😭😭🥺🥺🥺😞😞😞😞😞😭😭😭😭🥺🥺🥺😞😞😞😞😞😭😭😭😭🥺🥺🥺😞😞😞😞😞 I CRIED I SOBBED I STARTED WRITHING ON THE FLOOR IN AGONY……. OUR SWEETIE………
HE’S SOOOO CUTE…. :(((( blindfolded gojo is my favorite ever he’s SO baby…….. i miss him sm it hurts i almost teared up seeing this panel that isn’t normal human behavior 😔😔 ”don’tcha think?” SIR PLS STOPPP…….. :((((( silly little goose…… i need to kiss him all over his pretty face just to hear him giggle (doctors surround me w syringes from all sides)
ok but gojo aside (come home baby the cats miss u 💔) MAKI????????? MY GODDESS?? i ADORE the fight between her and sukuna …. she looks completely feral i’m so enamored <333 wild raccoon coded <3333
and also…… the dynamic between these two……. 😵💫😵💫 maki being the only one since gojo who sukuna seems to be taking seriously/having genuine fun with???? (all the parallels between maki and gojo have been KILLING me i’m so glad akutami agrees w me that she’s his daughter ever <3) LIKE THAT’S SOOO SICK??? maki nation getting fed silly rn
”at its core, sorcery is all skin and flesh (…) that body of yours is all marrow and bone” BANGER ASS LINE EXCUSE ME??????????? AKUTAMI??????
but it’s also soooooo interesting isn’t it….. sukuna has always had a very specific view of sorcery and how it should be, and maki’s very existence completely goes against that ideal while simultaneously acting as a genuine threat to him… i think it’s so . insanely cool that he essentially views her as an alternative to sorcery?? and it forces him to revert back to the sorcery that he favours, just to prove that it’s superior (which is why he uses black flash for the first time!! at least that’s my read of it rn)…. IT’S JUST SO GOODDDD I’M EATING IT UP‼️‼️‼️
also sidenote kinda but but but . the sukuna theories…. abt him eating his twin……… if those are true then the sukuna/maki parallels are even MORE insane bc she had to sacrifice her own twin for the sake of survival/power but would undoubtedly choose mai over her newfound strenght every single time :(( while sukuna willingly chose strenght over companionship….. yeahhhh they make me ill
what else is there to say ……. kusakabe was there. PHDJDHDJF NO BUT WDYMMMM HE’S THE STRONGEST GRADE 1 SORCERER…… SINCE WHEN 😭😭😭 ??????
jokes aside i think it makes sense considering kusakabe just so happens to Know abt a bunch of stuff he shouldn’t know abt + somehow keeps surviving ???? but i still think it’s so funny how everyone is hyping him up while he’s like . I Am Not The Strongest 💀💀 he’s so funny actually…..
….. this is smth my fuckass brother said that unfortunately made a lot of sense + made me go completely insane but. maybe the reason kusakabe keeps trying to run away is bc he wants to stay alive for his sister….. :((( bc he needs to take care of her/doesn’t want to die and leave her alone the way her son did. sob. T_T that would be kind of a genius move on akutami’s part bc it changes his comedic moments to very heartwarming ones…. i’m actually rlly excited to see where this fight goes wahhhh
anyway back to gojo .
HE’S LITERALLY SOOOO BABY I CAN’T STAND HIM …. 🥺🥺🥺🥺 i don’t think akutami will ever truly understand how perfect this design is . like. there isn’t a single other character who perfectly manages to strike the balance between cute and handsome the way blindfolded gojo does . i’m sorry but it’s true. this is what the ideal male form looks like
#anyway that’s all!! PHEWWWW feels nice to get the post chapter euphoria off my chest ….#THIS CHAPTER SLAPPEDDD it reminded me a bit of older shibuya chapters actually :3#w the interview scene in the beginning and all too !!!#i think i mentally tapped out when yuuta was fighting (sorry yuuta nation 💔💔 unfortunately he killed my wife) but now i’m back ‼️‼️#i hope maki comes back into the battle tho…. she deserves a lot more than just one chapter smh#forever cradling this gojo panel to my chest#ari noises ✩#jjk leaks#jjk manga spoilers#jjk 253

gonna put this under a cut. some of this is just my opinion on what i would’ve liked to see/thought logically made sense/had tried to predict earlier on in the story just based on like past foreshadowing.
okay. these may not be in exact order + i will probably think of more things and add to this but out the gate:
nobara returns. she gets her huge power up moment.
we learn if he has/what yuuji’s cursed technique is + what is going on with the false memories people seem to have with him
hana should’ve been in the story more and fleshed out enough so that later, when she’s fighting, we care about what happens to her. her little backstory with megumi was a good start but ultimately falls flat when we don’t get to experience much of her in the story. i think she should’ve been a central player in the culling games instead of the third year or other side characters that came in. i feel like culling games would’ve benefited following hana, yuuji, megumi, and yuuta and their plans to change the rules + get gojo + tsumiki, etc. the whole way. i feel like there was A LOT (too many) chapters without those characters during that arc lol.
kenjaku and sukuna history/flash back. i don’t need a ton. i just feel like this was a missed opportunity to continue to explore themes previously established. would also love to know how sukuna became such a powerful curse.
gojo fights kenjaku. defeats him and can ultimately put getou’s body to rest + finally completes their arc and story.
toji returns one final time somehow, either in memory or what have you. rule of 3s and all that. megumi learns that gojo was the one to kill his father this time.
sukuna takes over yuuji and w his new technique is even more powerful. battle ensues with megumi, nobara, maki, yuuta, etc.
gojo enters the battle. he can defeat sukuna but it will kill yuuji. his students disagree and want to find a way to separate yuuji and sukuna. this probably has something to do with nobara’s technique and how she can touch a soul (maybe can attack sukuna separate from yuuji’s?) gojo doesn’t want to make the same mistake he made with getou and must stop sukuna/yuuji. megumi revolts first against gojo to protect yuuji. the others follow.
bittersweet fight. gojo realizes his students really could surpass him. megumi is the one to defeat him and ultimately kill him. but it’s more like megumi releases him. he can finally rest knowing those more powerful than him will change jujutsu society for the better. and that they’re not alone, but have each other. now he can actually die without regrets.
other fun things i would’ve just enjoyed personally:
i think getou’s girls (nanako and mimiko) were a missed opportunity to set up against megumi, yuuji, and nobara at some point in the story/i think it would’ve been fun to draw parallels, etc.
nobara being more embedded in the story’s lore the way yuuji is a creation of kenjaku and megumi is the son of toji/gojo’s ward. maybe if she’s distantly related to someone? maybe kenjaku or getou? so that there’s suspicion around her being the mole? i just wish her background was more solidly in the lore like the other main characters or even maki’s.
actual dad gojo to megumi and tsumiki. making that one hurt a lil more.
tsumiki fleshed out more and in the story more—i think it’s fun to later use her to be possessed but we like. hardly knew her. and then she was killed. 🙄🙄 akutami you’re never ever beating the sexist allegations now.
i would’ve enjoyed nobara dying in shibuya if she got to Come Back Wrong as a curse or something. and yuuji and megumi now have this feral curse nobara they try to work with. kinda this idea that bonds and love can transcend—i may be drawing too much inspiration from power from csm. but i like the idea of the boys getting nobara as a new curse to remember them, sorta like power’s “when you find the next blood fiend, make them remember you” line.
basically if you can’t tell i wish nobara had gotten more LMAO. i just think she had such potential
honestly the whole story had such potential. it’s a shame how it’s turned out. i’ll probably come back and add more to this list bc i feel like i could talk endlessly about what COULDVE happened in jjk to continue bolstering the themes of like. love as a curse or not. being unable to let go and move on from the past. individual vs the community. being in a surveillance state. hell, even the environmentalism that gets so so so briefly touched on. could’ve been one of those really cool stories where there’s several big worldly themes that then tie into smaller character themes to create a working, full piece. but alas.
does anyone wanna hear my list of things that should’ve happened in jjk before what recently happened
#once more these are just Thoughts and Opinions i’ve had on this series for a long time#i’m sorry if you really love jjk or disagree!! to each their own!!#i’ve just been disappointed with it honestly since we hit the culling games and yuuji finished his battle w the lawyer#am i still gonna write for it and love the characters?? yes#one thing ab me i’m always gonna critique even the things i love okay#anyways#let me know your thoughts!!#am i crazy?? (likely)#do you guys have things you would’ve liked to see??#cielo rambles!#jjk spoilers#jjk leaks

I’m so happy tht ended the way it did
#akutami never missing as per usual#I think the reason I enjoy jjk is Bc of how it somewhat has tropes from past shounen animes ive watched but how they portray them better#like with Naruto (&don’t get me wrong Bc I fucking love Naruto but I have many problems with the show) they would have Naruto fight#a villain and would have him say a speech or something tht would have them convinced to think about their actions and to basically bow down#to him (ahem zabuza/nagato/obito) but with jjk they don’t do tht#Yuuji didn’t need to give a speech or say anything to convince higuruma tht he was a good person and deserved to be heard#his actions did tht he knew he could argue against the guilty verdict Bc he truly was not responsible for the murders at shibuya#but Bc he’s a genuinely good person he accepted responsibility Bc he believes if he had been stronger it would’ve never happened#but I’m like yuuji…. if you weren’t strong you wouldn’t be able to house 15 fingers of sukuna while remaining in complete control and not#being affected by him (mostly - he doesn’t pop out anymore so I’m thinking it’s to do with yuuji or maybe sukuna just doesn’t feel like it#who knows - he might pop back out when hajime finally gets to yuuji since he knows him) Idk#but like yeah yuuji effortlessly houses and holds sukuna all the time like he is strong I wish he didn’t hold all this guilt but it’s to be#expected but anyway like I enjoyed how the fight went#like yuuji really is tht dude he had his cursed energy suppressed and he was still able to send higuruma flying with a single punch like his#natural physical strength is insane and I love tht for him#but I also love tht gege realized tht higuruma was an extremely likable character and instead of having yuuji defeat him he’s having him#(hopefully) join his side I think the chat they’re gonna have next chapter is gonna be very therapeutic for the both of them#like yes megumi told yuuji it wasn’t his fault but I think he needs the perspective from someone he doesn’t know and who doesn’t have a#reason to try to give him comfort on the matter#when yuuji said he has killed someone purposely I’m not gonna lie I was confused Bc like who did he kill#but then I remembered he killed his half brother when he teamed up with nobara#the fact tht he feels guilt over tht too makes me sad Bc like… they attacked them first wtf was he meant to do#can you believe tht in the manga yuujis entire world changed in 6 months??#he swallowed sukunas finger in June of 2018 in the manga and now it’s November 2018 he’s literally been through so much :-/#he deserves better thts why I’m scared of the ending Bc I truly feel like gege is gonna kill him :-/#jjk 166#jujutsu kaisen manga#jjk manga spoilers

LOVE TO TEASE (Nanami Kento x F!Reader) (One-Shot)
Summary: Everyone knows Nanami Kento is a DILF, and he knows it~ >:) And you are very happily (and very luckily) married to him, with children, and the times he gets to pick up his darling kid from school, and attend the special school events, he’d always be the eye candy as the other mothers would eye him especially dreamily~
Pairing: Nanami Kento x Reader/Nanami Kento x Original Character/Reader-Insert
Rating: No warning, just general fluff
DISCLAIMER: I do not own "Jujutsu Kaisen", it's all works of Akutami Gege.
A/N.: I also publish under:- Wattpad (KilljoysQueen), Quotev (KilljoysQueen) and AO3 (QKCBBVIP)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nanami Kento considers himself very lucky, with you as his very beautiful and loving wife, and who has given him the family he has always wanted, in the forms of two adorable children, and a third along the way still ‘baking in the oven’, while juggling a very successful career as one of Japan’s top CEOs, earning a very comfortable and luxurious living for himself and the family. The feeling of lucky is mutual; you also feel incredibly lucky to be married to this successful, handsome and sexy man, who just happens to be your high-school sweetheart, the love of your life, and you really appreciate it that he is as fiercely loyal and doting to you and the kids as ever.
It is also well-known that, in spite of the fact that he is one of the country’s most successful CEOs, running an international business empire, he is also an incredible dedicated family man; if he’s not on business trips, he will definitely makes time to either drop off his child to school and/or pick themup from school, and he will certainly makes time for PTA meetings and special school events. It hasn’t escaped both your notice that, within the school community, Kento has earned the title of the “ultimate DILF” from the teachers and parents, and that you are the envy of many women within the school PTA union, and you both have laughed at this ‘situation’, Kento doesn’t necessarily feel ‘disgusted’ by the title, he just thinks it’s amusing, and he has teased you on occasionsthat you should feel proud for being married to the DILF.
Today, Kento is planning to surprise both you and your kids; he had been away on a months-long overseas business trip, and he hasn’t told you that he’s coming back early, and he decides to surprise you all by picking up your oldest child- Ayaka from middle school, without telling you. He had arrived a little earlier before the school gates are due to open, and he is leaning against his Maserati, his blond hair slicked back, his shades on and muscular arms crossed, looking very cool and very handsome as he waits. He’s not the only parent waiting early, there are also other mothers waiting as well, and he chuckles to himself; it didn’t escape his notice that, the mothers areall staring at him, some in different gossiping groups, blushing and giggling as they gawk and stare at him, the very sexy and very wealthy father. He rolls his eyes though, he has never been interested in the other mothers, since he only has eyes for you, his loving and loyal wife, he does get hit on when you are not around, but he would always make excuses or straight-out brush them off with a dry smile, and most explicitly states his marital status.
The school bell finally rings, signaling the end of school and the school gates open, and kids begin to rush out. The 13 years-old Ayaka was walking and talking to her classmates when she notices her father, and her eyes widen in surprise, and a grin comes upon her face, she waves her classmates good-bye and runs towards Kento.
“Dad? Daddy, you are back!” Ayaka greets excitedly and happily as she runs into Kento’s wide welcoming arms.
Kento laughs and hugs his first-born child tight, and kisses her on the cheek, “Oh, my darling baby girl, I’ve missed you so much!”
Ayaka looks at her father happily, “Does mom know?”
Kento shakes his head with a chuckle, “I haven’t told your mom, I plan to surprise her too.”
“Hm...mom is probably picking up Hideki from nursery right now,” Ayaka suggests thoughtfully. “Shall we wait for them here?”
“I cannot wait to see your mom and your little brother again,” Kento nods in agreement.
“Daddy, mommy’s pregnant belly has gotten a lot bigger now!” Ayaka informs with a grin.
Kento grins, “I can’t wait to see mommy’s baby belly too!”
And there they are chatting and catching up happily as they decide to wait for you and your son; your daughter has guessed correctly, you are currently picking up your little boy from nursery, and then you will go round the corner to the middle school to pick up her up. Just then, one of the other mothers, decide to go and try a hit on the ultimate DILF, fluffing her own hair, she is almost-strutting over, totally clueless that she’s actually making a fool of herself, she coughs to gain Kento’s and Ayaka’s attention, and they turn to her.
The woman pastes on a saccharine smile, “Hello, Nanami-kun, I haven’t seen you here a while.”
Kento smiles politely, “Yes, I have been away overseas on business, I just got back today.”
“Aw...and you immediately came over to pick up Ayaka-chan?” the woman fawns. “You must have missed your daughter so much. Aren’t you tired?”
Kento continues to smile politely, “Of course I have missed my family so much, my wife and kids. And I had enough rest on the flight back.”, putting emphasis on the words ‘my wife and kids’.
“Mr. Nanami, are you aware that in two weeks’…” the woman starts with a far-too-sweet smile.
“It’s Sports Day, I remember, Mrs…?” Kento smiles dryly, he already knows this woman is trying to hit him up.
“Oh, I’m Mrs. Kimura,” the flirty woman says with a cloying smile. “Will you be there? On Sports Day?”
“Yes, of course,” Kento replies with a polite smile. “My wife and I will be there to support our Ayaka.”
Ayaka, in her father’s arms, frowns; she already knows what this pretentious lady is up to, and she narrows her eyes in disapproval, “My mom will be here soon.”
Kento chuckles at Ayaka’s warning, and he peaks her on the cheek adoringly. Speaking of the devil, you finally come around the corner just then, with your son- Hideki holding your hand, and you are immediately surprised to see your husband there with your daughter.
“Kento, honey?” you ask, surprised.
“Mommy! Daddy’s back!” Ayaka announces excitedly, and that flirty Mrs. Kimura slinks away with a blushing, embarrassed face at the same time.
Kento grins at you, “Hi, baby, I’m back!”
Your toddler boy- Hideki is just as excited to see his father, he laughs and starts pulling you along, eager to get to Kento quickly, who laughs as he lets Ayaka back down on her feet, and welcomes his second child in his welcoming arms.
Kento kisses Hideki on his pudgy cheek, “I miss you so much, buddy.”
Then, he turns to you, smiling at you with total, utter adoration in his eyes, “Hi, Mrs. Nanami, I’ve missed you so much!”
He kisses you lovingly on the lips, “I love you so much, my dear wife.”
Then he turns to your 6-months baby bump, he leans down to kiss it, “I love you so much too, kiddo, I can’t wait to meet you!”
“I can’t believe you came back earlier, without telling me, Kento!” you pout.
Kento chuckles, “I wanted to surprise you and the kids, babe.”
You grin and kiss him, “It is a very wonderful surprise.”
“Come on, let’s get home,” Kento says.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
[Time skip]
It’s Ayaka’s school Sports Day, your eldest has inherited athletic genes from Kento, so naturally been drafted into participate in some of the events like relay and jumping events, and you are all going to be there to support her, and you have packed a picnic basket for the day. Both you and Kento dress casual for the day, and since there will be a ‘Dads' Race’ event later, Kento is wearing a black tee and tracksuit bottoms, totally not-hiding his muscular arms and bod, you are sure that there will be a lot of ogling and staring today.
You and your family are already the center of attention when you all arrive at Ayaka’s school, Kento looks every part the Super-Dad as he held the picnic basket in one hand and held Hideki in his other arm, while you and Ayaka walk alongside him, heading towards the sports fields. You and your husband exchange greetings with the teachers and other parents, and you notice the different sorts of looks and stares being directed at you two; Kento’s rippling muscles and well-defined body garnered envious looks from some of the other fathers and male teachers, his physique and handsome face amassed heart eyes from the mothers and female teachers, and you being his significant other earned envious looks from the women around you.
You can’t help but chuckle, and Kento turns to you with an inquisitive smile, “What’s so funny, babe?”
“Do you want to bet how many women will bicker and fight to get a seat closest to you?” you respond with a smirk.
Kento rolls his eyes, you are nearing the sports fields, where the school has already set out tents, outdoor furniture and chairs for the parents and families, you and your brood pick a spot to sit down, setting down the picnic basket, and Kento wraps an arm around your baby bump protectively as Hideki sits in between his legs, waiting for the races to start.
“Mom, dad, I need to go get ready,” Ayaka says.
“Okay, baby girl, good luck today,” Kento says with a grin.
Ayaka hugs both you and her father, and little brother, before heading off for roll-call.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Indeed, much to your amusement, even though the other mothers aren’t particularly loud, you can still hear them bickering with one another, for the seats next to you and your husband. Kento hears it too, and he rolls his eyes in annoyance.
“I am sitting there, near Nanami-kun.”
“No, I am.”
“Why do you get to sit close to him?”
“You are not the only one, lady!”
“We are talking about the ultimate DILF here! I am sitting there!”
“See? I told you so, hon,” you whisper to Kento with a chuckle.
Kento sighs, “Christ! We are not in high school anymore.”
“But it doesn’t change the fact you are a hunk, with them thirsting after you,” you respond, lips quirking.
Kento kisses you on the head tenderly, “I love you, and only you, baby.”
“I know, and I love you and just you,” you respond with a grin.
You ignore the desperate housewives, you don’t know how long or how they sorted it out among themselves, but it turns out it’s Mrs. Saito who got the lucky space beside Kento, whose daughter is Ayaka’s upperclassman, and despite her own husband is sitting beside her, she still occasionally sends heart eyes to Kento, and your husband only smiles back politely. You honestly find it hilarious, you know he is getting irritated by the flirty looks Mrs. Saito is sending him, yet you leave him alone to ‘defend’ himself, and you giggle.
“This is not funny, Y/N!” Kento grits. “Help me out here!”
“I thought you like being the DILF?” you tease, wriggling your eyebrows.
Kento narrows his eyes, “It was only fun when I first learned of it.”
You pout jokingly, “Aw...but I love feeling ever so lucky to have the one man everyone else want.”
Kento rolls his eyes, “You are having fun teasing the other ladies, huh?”
You shrug and giggle as you lean your head against his sturdy shoulder, “Maybe…”
“What am I going to do with you?” Kento sighs jokingly.
It’s not just Mrs. Saito, the other women (both single and married) would occasionally stop by to try to offer their own homemade food (and at the same time gawk and stare at Kento), almost as if the other husbands aren’t here as well. Every time, your husband would smile politely and kindly refuse, while feeling very annoyed on the inside you can tell, but you just watch on in amusement as you are snuggled up against his broad chest. You have lost count of how many ‘admirers’ your husband had to bat away, and you are snickering, and your husband frowns at you.
“Seriously, this is not funny, Y/N,” Kento sighs. “It’s very annoying.”
You pat him on the chest, and grin, “Oh, just take them as compliments, honey, everyone thinks you are hot and sexy.”
Kento stares at you helplessly, but seeing you looking at him ever so dotingly, then he just chuckles and rolls his eyes.
“Sorry, honey, I can’t help it,” you admit with a grin. “I have the most desirable man as my husband, how can I not flaunt?”
Kento laughs at your confession, then leans in to peak you on the lips lovingly, “Maybe I can even crank it up a little.”
You are confused, “Huh?”
Your husband only winks at you, it’s now time for the Dads’ Race, and he leaves you puzzled as he gets ready for the fun race, and after he walks off, you are straightaway surrounded by the other mothers and female teachers, all gushing to you about Kento.
“Oh, you are so lucky, Y/N!” one of the other mothers say dreamily. “We are all so envious of you!”
“I am, indeed, very lucky,” you grin in return. “Thank you.”
“He’s such an amazing, doting father,” another mother praises. “You rarely miss him at our PTA meetings and school events!”
“And we all can tell, he loves you, his family so much,” one of the female teachers comments in awe. “Such kind of man is a very rare breed!”
“Not to demean my own husband, but if he’s half the man Nanami-kun is...I’d be so happy!” one of the wives fawns.
“And he’s so easy on the eyes!” another one gushes.
“Hush, Mrs. Imai! Don’t say things like that,” one of the mothers admonishes. “We are talking to Mrs. Nanami!”
You laugh and wave it off, “It’s fine, Mrs. Mori, it’s okay, I know that my husband is very handsome and attractive. Kento being very good-looking is certainly a massive bonus.”
You are all eyeing the men getting ready at the starting point for the Dads’ Race, somehow the challenge has been upped from one lap to five laps around the 3 acres football field, their kids already at the sidelines for a front row seat to this fun race, including Ayaka who has won three gold medals in her competitions. A whistle is blown, and the men set off, and the children erupt into loud cheering and claps, as they cheer on their fathers.
“You know what, Y/N, I really love your love story with Kento-kun,” one of the women sighs. “The fact that he’s your high-school sweetheart.”
“What? You already met Kento-kun in high-school?” another housewife asks, surprised.
You nod with a grin, “Yes, I have known him since high school, and we have been together since.”
And then, you are dragged back into chit-chatting with the ladies, as they gossip and occasionally gush at your relationship with Kento.
[Time skip]
One of the women in the group gasps out loud, causing you all to turn to her; amid all the gushing and chatting, the dads have already finished their race, and she is staring at a sight which is generally only privy to you and your kids.
“Ho...ho...holy crap! Y/N, I’m so freaking jealous of you!” she gushes while fanning herself. “I’d do anything to just be you for one day!”
“What are you talking about?” another inquire.
She points, and you all look to where her finger is pointing at, and a collective gasp come from you and the other women; among all the fathers, there is your Kento, with Ayaka hooking an arm around his arm, but that’s not it...Kento has brazenly taken off his top, completely parading his muscular arms, chest and six-packs to the thirsty eyes of all the females around him, not excluding the housewives gathering close to you at the moment, and the sweat drops rolling down his muscled chest and arms only add to his sexiness. He is smirking as he is walking over to you and the women, he knows very well what he’s doing; every female he walks past, they always stare and gawk after him and his ass, some fan themselves and some lick and bite their own lips as they witness the glorious sight of Kento top-half naked.
“Oh, so this is what he meant by cranking it up,” you realize, and chuckle.
“Hello, ladies,” Kento grins and winks as he approaches you.
You stare up at him with a knowing smile, as the entire PTA union looks at him all starry-eyed and mouths agape, some even blushed in crushing on him.
“Mom, dad won the race!” Ayaka announces excitedly as she runs to hug you.
You smile, though totally not surprised, “Oh wow, well-done, Mr. Nanami.”
Kento grins down at you, and leans down to kiss you lovingly on the lips, “Thank you, Mrs. Nanami.”
Kento pulls you up from your seat and hugs you close, and let you wipe the sweat off his fine-toned chest with his t-shirt, as the women stare at you two with envy.
“So, I see how you took it up a notch, honey,” you say with a chuckle. “You are totally teasing the hell out of all the women here.”
Kento laughs, “Technically, I’m helping you to show-off and tease, babe.”
You roll your eyes, “I didn’t ask you to strip! If any, you are the one exhibiting your body, and seems to be enjoying it, and enjoying teasing us.”
Kento grins, “But you love it, babe!”
BONUS: Ayaka who overhears your conversation, she rolls her eyes, and complains, “Mom, dad! Please can you tone it down? And dad, please put your top back on, I am ‘traumatized’ enough as it is that my teachers and classmates think you very attractive and sexy…” -_-
