the Japanese version of the above tag! same function!

typically used for fanart of characters with Aruji/MC. the MC in question can be an aruji-oc, a persona—anything really. the MC and the character can be shown in a romantic (the most common one), platonic, familial or any other subtext. you can judge that by the nature the fanart portrays them in.

the only exception of fanarts under this tag that don’t potray MC with the characters are the ones that do a viewer’s perspective kinda thingy? i don’t really know how to describe them but you’ll know it when you see it!

(also! some depict the MC in a face-less manner with no particular distinguish able qualities as opposed to making an oc; this is for immersion purposes i think?)

Muu: "Ah! My lord! The Archery Team is training over there!

> "Really? Let's go take a look"

Nac: "Oh? Good afternoon, my lord. I see, you've come."

Ammon: "Hello, my lord."

Flure: "Good afternoon, my lord."

> “May I watch?"

Nac: "Yes. Of course, please do. Now then...! Since my lord is here, shall we start the training? The Archery Team consists of these three members. I, Nac Stein, have been entrusted with the leadership of the Archery Team. The members are Ammon and Flure. Let's work together."

Ammon: “Sigh... Why are you the only one you refer to with a full name?"

Flure: "Mr. Ammon, There's no end if you start nitpicking with Mr. Nac."

Ammon: "True…”

Nac: "Well then... Let's get started, shall we? Have both of you ever handled bows and arrows before?"

Ammon: "Nope..."

Flure: "I haven't either."

Nac: "I see... I see... Understood. I don't mean to brag, but I have experience with various kind of weapons. And of course! I'm also familiar with handling bows and arrows! So... first, let me explain the basics of handling a bow and arrow to both of you. Since Ammon and Flure are both very dexterous, I'm sure you'll master it in no time!"

Ammon: "Thank you, please guide us!"

Flure: "C-can I… do it…"

~ After a while ~.

Nac: "Now then... That's all for the method of shooting an arrow. Let's try aiming at that target 30 meters away!"

Ammon: "Hmm... aim carefully... ...Hup!"

Swoosh... thunk!

Ammon: "Tch, it was a bit to the right... Missed."

Nac: "No, no! For a first attempt, it's remarkably skillful! As expected! Ammon! You catch on quickly!”

Ammon: "Hehe... It feels great to be praised so much by Mr. Nac. I'm not usually praised like this, so it's a nice change!"

Nac: "I'm one to praise and help you improve!”

Ammon: "But usually, you're scolding Lamli a lot…”

Nac: "A-ahem...! That one is a special case. Now then...! Next is Flure!"

Flure: "U-Understood... Phew… (I-I feel somewhat nervous.) Aim carefully... Hup!"

Flure: "Woah!"

Flure: "Ouch... I fell over from the impact of releasing the arrow." (Sigh... I'm so clumsy...)

Nac: "Amazing! A direct hit on the target!”

Flure: "Eh? No way?”

Ammon: "Impressive. Almost dead center."

Flure: “M-Must be a coincidence.”

Nac: "Well, may I have you shoot a second arrow just in case?"

Flure: "Y-Yes... Aim carefully... Hup!"

Nac: “L-let's have it one more time.”

Also, this article isn't written in a properly ordered structure whatsoever 🙇

A traitor's presence has long been speculated within the aknk fandom; casting one of the butlers as the designated leaker of information to a third party.

So, the angels, not the nobles?

The most recent update sheds some light on two things: 1) who the possible traitor could be, and 2) to whom this traitor works for.

We've been given a lucid answer to the latter: the sentient/intelligent angels. It was revealed that 'the traitor' reports directly to Cherubim, whereupon the angel pointed out how it must have been tough for the traitor to have to 'climb up' every time they communicated, hinting heavily at the location of information exchange to be one of the ancient towers.

Too early to tell it seems. Who knows if this traitor works exclusively for one party? (Apart from the dev, obviously)

As for the traitor's identity itself... While nothing definitive has yet to be imparted, some people (whose posts made their way on my Twitter feed anyway) seem on the opinion that it's certain that the traitor won't be any of the butlers. The target of suspicion now moves on to the newly introduced character ゴート aka Goat, if you like. Although a thematically consistent name, it still gives us nothing deeper to dig at this point. He is introduced as a post office worker with loud, exuberant qualities while possessing massive, unconcealed admiration for the devil butlers (to the point of being a fan).

[On a related note, the event 郵便局の贈り物/Yuubinkyoku no Okurimono is the one where Goat's superior plays a central role... it seems. I haven't read the story yet so I can't talk in length about it 😅]

Anyway, here's a quick list of what might be points of interest:

The traitor, whose existence having been confirmed, having to climb up (Cherubim made a passing remark : 'if only you could fly, you would easily make it to the top where we are' with the top part put on an emphasis in-game). The traitor speaks to Cherubim using polite speech.

The appearance of Goat, a post man who'll be in charge of delivery to the Devil's Palace. High in spirit, showing a favourable attitude towards demon butlers.

The rumoured assassin of the underworld, objective/identity: unclear. Finlay passes the information to Lucas.

Spoiler; on a related note with the point above, Nac was born into a family of professional assassins and trained from a very young age to be one. Hanamaru, as pointed out by Nac, was a former bounty hunter. I've done some translation on both, feel free to rummage around my aknk tag. Another point of interest on Nac and Hanamaru's relationship lies on the 6th chapter of event 水流の唄/Song of the Water Dragon.

While suspicion on the butlers is being temporarily cast aside, there's this interesting scene where Nac, while on night patrol duty with Shiro, senses someone's presence only to stumble upon Hanamaru, who claims he's there because he sees the grave look on Nac and Shiro's faces on the way back from the kitchen (might be wrong, but that's how I recall the scene goes for now). Nac makes a comment on how good Hanamaru is in erasing his presence (as expected of a bounty hunter), to which Hanamaru replies it might be courtesy of him doing that to avoid day-to-day work. The question is, why isn't Hanamaru sensing the presence of the intruder when Nac does? Is it simply because he arrives later on the scene? Or could it be that Hanamaru is...? (No, not likely)

Nac is noted to go on a long period of absence from the manor, exactly like the Twitter post's preview hinted, to look into the matter of this so-called assassin of the underworld. When asked if there are some letters of correspondence from Nac, Goat says, no, there isn't. If Goat isn't a target of suspicion, that'll be all there is to that scene. Otherwise, might he be an interceptor of correspondence? Let's see where the next update will take us...

Like others, I think the possibility of a butler being a traitor has been greatly diminished with this most recent update. Even so, I'm not completely taking it out of the realm of possibilities yet. At the same time, I'm not even sure if I'd like the prospect of having my heart torn apart at the impending angst if one of them does turn out to be a backstabber. I can think of several routes in which the direction of the story may unfold; they're not pretty 😭

uGHHHH tumblr is quite glitchy today and i'll resend this ask

anyWAY i remember i saw aknk official posted something a few days ago(?) and announced that episode 3 is almost completed JAJZJANS i'm so ready for the upcoming angst + drama and possible butler being demonized again but ofc i'll be hurt again AAAAAA i remember the pain and worry when haures got captured then it WAS A CLIFFHANGER leaving me quite emotional for a few days waiting for the last update for episode 2 🤣 also im really curious amd want to know more about the butlers' past especially berrien and fennesz 💖

to be honest, berrien is so mysterious and kind of suspicious you dont even know if his actions are really genuine or... not hMMMMMMM 👁👁

OH AND- i saw a jp theory a long time ago, it was a comparison between haures holding his hand out to master and berrien holding out his left hand and aND apparently, it has a meaning!

when someone is holding out their right hand to you, it means the person liked you or comfortable with you

however if someone is holding out their left hand to you..... it means they dislike you or distaste.

guess who's holding out their left hand? BERRRIIEIEIEIEENNNNNAJJSWJAJJA the way my heart broke when i saw that theory lol 🤣

There's a whole lot to unpack in this ask, so I'm putting the 'aknk' and 'akuneko' tag in this in case someone else also want to give their two cents.

❗⚠ [Spoiler alert, read with caution] ⚠❗

Putting aside Berrien, it'll be such a plot twist if Fennesz get demonized next because everyone (mostly) is predicting butler from either the 3rd floor or the basement to be the center in the next episode's stage 👀 If I remember correctly, Fennesz is currently the one who notices Berrien's different 'aura' when he asked about Haures' demonisation at the end of episode 2...? It would be great if he could play an important role in the future, episode 3 or not, because of that 🤔

I take it this is the announcement you mentioned, right?

I'm so excited about the next episode too. It's going to be distributed throughout the entirety of the year 2023, it seems? I certainly can't wait to be emotionally devastated once again. Episode 2 was really, really great, wasn't it? 😊

Since we're still in the topic of official announcement... I'd like to go off tangent a bit and talk about the third bullet point. It said, if my understanding is correct, the implementation of full voice acting in episode 2 and and episode 2.5 will be the last ones that come free. From there onwards, they will come into two parts, free and paid ones. Seems like we'll need to pay an additional fee if we want to unlock the voice...? I'm not entirely sure about this one actually. Anyone with a better grasp of Japanese feel free to correct.

I mean, I'm happy if Akuneko's doing well financially and the people who contribute to it, illustrators and voice actors alike, are getting paid well. On the other hand, as a money-wise poor af person, I'm anxious I won't be able to buy it... 😭 I doubt it will come cheaply after all

Moving on to Berrien, this is the tweet that speculated the right/left hand gesture, isn't it? I'm putting a link a there just in case someone either hasn't seen it/wants some context.

I think we all will cry if Berrien hates us 😂 but it's such a delicious theory, an unprecedented move from a joseimuke game should it ever come true. I mean, the most loving, kind-looking male cast that genuinely hates and/or betrays the players at a certain point??? If Akuneko does that, hats off for the bravery. I don't know if they will be able to pull such move though, given the risk of losing players is too big.

And, oh, I'll cry with you too, that's for sure 😭 I also love Berrien too muchー if anything , he is the reason I play Akuneko. But then again I live off the angst and the drama... Well, don't we all, though 😂

Was this wrong? There were many answers to that certain question. You were just completely worried with the situation. A few moments ago you were having a nice gathering with the butlers and now this. You were worried, too worried with how Haures was writhing in pain. How did this all began? You couldn’t think straight, all you could focus on was the man right in front of you.

“You…can drink my blood.”

At this point, Haures was about to die. He needed the blood, he really did. If he doesn’t drink someone’s blood, it’s going to result in a terrible death and you didn’t want that. If the only way to avoid his death was for him to drink your blood, you would take every means to make that happen. But to your surprise, Haures limped to the ground, declining your offer. “Me? Drinking your blood? There’s no way I’m taking the blood from someone who is of high ranks.” You clenched your fists and kneeled right in front of him, holding his hands once you were on the ground.

Haures lowered his head to avoid your gaze, he didn’t want to hurt you, even damaging your image would be much worse than he could ever imagine. “I don’t want to hurt you…” You could sense the sadness in his voice, the silent cries of not wanting to harm you in every way possible, but this was the only way and it seemed like he knew it too. You held his hand tighter, bringing your other hand to his chin to move his head to look at you in the eye, you were surprised that he didn’t retaliate against your gesture but you didn’t mind it. “It’s okay, I may not look like it but I’m actually strong!” Soft chuckles followed after your sentence as your lips curved into a gentle smile.

Haures looked at you with awe, he always thought that you were beautiful, he always wanted to get closer to you but in a rather different way but the only thing that blocked him from doing that was social ranks. It saddened him every time he thought about being right next to you, holding hands. Oh how he wished that everything was normal, including him. He was a butler and even an immortal being. If he ever revealed himself to the public, he would be sentenced to execution. The sorrow he had to deal with every day while you were in the mansion, if everyone had ever found out about his feelings for you, great punishment would be due the next few days.

The never ending cycle of pain made his heart crumble every time he saw you, but now, he gets to have you in all of his glory. He knew that this was wrong but he was desperate to drink blood and the only person who had caught his eyes was you. If this was the only time that he would get closer to you, he would take it without a second thought or even a single drop of remorse.

He brought his hand up to your face, gently caressing it with his thumb. You took this as acceptance and got even closer to him. Haures rested his chin on your shoulder, asking you a single question knowing that you would say yes to.

“Are you sure about this?”
