whooo!!! Akemi ramble!!!!
so leadership in the clan is passed down to the eldest, she was the middle child, so while she did her best to abide by all the rules and mirror her brother, who she idolized, she never got the full weight of expectations, but her brother passes away unexpectedly (just recently killed him off, idk what happens exactly uhhhhh), so she´s up for being leader now! yay!
she doubles down on that perfect child act, which absolutely clashes with the youngest, who while understandably being a mess is being more healthy abt this, akemi snaps at her, the argument gets bad and Akemi makes the final descition to leave, go as far as she can from this place.
As her sister gets close, she (akemi) ends up shooting her in the face with an energy gun. now this isnt even slightly deadly, but the thing about energy guns and the general worldbuilding is that they might mess with the energy flow, and eyes (where she got hit (just 1)) are core parts of that energy manipulation. Akemi is understandably horrified at this and disappears as quickly as she can.
(she´s a space guardian ((kinda)), so teleportation :3👍) (with her energy disrupted like this, her sister couldnt follow, even though she would´ve done it in a heartbeat)
So now the eldest is dead, the middle missing, and the youngest has an injured eye.
two things happen from this, first: Akemi makes it to space and meets Viktor and Caelios. this leads to a whole lot of "spiting the government" shenanigans, theyre prooobably chaotic good? they make a whole lot of enemies and end up making their way back to earth (which is considered a banned planet bc it 1. almost imploded 2. has a void problem 3. has no active solari guarding it) (this is what the story Stardust would cover)
but anyways, Akemi and Caelios get married and have Akira and Naomi, thyre considerably more chill by then, they join a project meant to set the foundations for a school and city safe for active guardians, so they, yk, dont get hunted down by Voids.
Caelios is regarded as a threat by a lot of people however, since he tecnically *does* have a kill count, and is half Solari, so theres a plot to take him out of the picture, a bunch of backstabbings, and they end up succeeding. With him out of the way and 2 kids to also watch out for, it isnt that hard to put akemi in a hard spot. This is where The Quake happens (<- minor but notable story event), it got ugly and citizens got caught in the crossfire, Akira (age 9-ish?)was supposed to be with Viktor but he (bless his soul) decided to cast a sield around the biggest area he could, he avoided a lot of this incident´s death count but got trapped in the rubble himself. Akira gets separated from everyone and just sorta wanders around for *years* having a bad time. Akemi gets captured along with Naomi and placed into "the labyrinth", which is actually the core of the school project they had supported, that Caelios was meant to supply energy for. Instead Naomi works as an energy source for it, effectively trapping both of them inside.
What Akemi didnt know is this setup was actually her sister´s best shot at having her in house arrest, instead of any other worse consequence. Said sister also slowly lures Akira to West Coast and makes sure he´s okay. Akira´s presence in West coast is actually what gives them the win in the final arc.
2. As for her sister (who i REALLY have to name!!!!!), she spends a *while* in the care of the Lavender clan, who are healers, eventually meeting her best friend *future husband*cough* *cough*, this is totally against Ensata clan policy, which literally only bans from marrying into strong time guardian heritage (space´s equal) or into other clans (because combined, their energy signiature would be different and thus, unpredictable). She of course thinks this is hella stupid and marries him anyways. Her eldest turns out to take after his father and does his studies in the Lavender clan as opposed to the Ensata. by now grandpa ensata (i have not named him lmao) is still disapproving, but much softer on his grandson.
So she takes over surveillance on the West Coast area, which allows the diamonds to get away with *a lot* more than they should´ve (magic- related shenanigans are kiiinda hush hush) , so the group at west coast is strong enough by the time the tipping point rolls around and this timeline! finally doesnt collapse!!!!!
another part of the butterfly effect of getting shot in the face, is her kids, Hana and Kaoru become friends with the Spectrum gang, and are pretty integral to taking out the starting point for another Void incident (like Kaye´s possesion). this, if left to fester, would´ve been enough to overpower the just-barely-enough-to-make-it combined gang in west coast and north mount
also bonus bit: Akira, Akemi´s son, is actually very similar to her late brother in terms of personality and mannerisms, it´s very bittersweet for the sisters :´) . part of those stem from his inherent personality, but others stem from watching out for himself, and others, much like their brother who felt the responsibility to be their pillar.
