Margaret is wrong but no one calls out all the abusive content in Shuake fandom that is normalized as "jokes". Every joke is about crazy killer Akechi trying to murder Akira in his sleep even if they're dating, it's not funny when intimate partner violence and murder is a serious issue, it's not different just because it's two boys and it's now "funny hatesex". People only have themselves to blame for Shuake being abusive now. Don't come for haters when that ship has the most r*pe fics.
there are definitely horrible headcanons and horrible people who ship shuake. there's no doubt about that. i knew a person who shipped shuake who turned out to be a vile human being.
however, the thing here is, people who don't play royal and haven't really had much experience with deeper aspects of character relationships label shuake as abusive and hateful and maybe that's their opinion, but shuake never hated each other. even if you didn't play royal or don't tend to look deeper into character dynamics, it's easy to see that. akechi himself is a hugely complex character. akira is the first person he could've considered a friend (hell, most of the PT were, and also kasumi/sumire). certain actions akechi has partaken in (like wakaba's death, okumura's death, etc) are definitely not something i would ever condone, but people fail to realize he's been under the control of a narcissistic father figure for a long time before he could learn what a healthy friendship (and relationship) is.
there would be no issue with margaret being against shuake IF she didn't actively seek out and stalk my friends' pages (mainly minors) and say countless homophobic, transphobic, ableist, and many other bigoted things simply because they ship shuake. i can understand disliking a fandom (in fact, i largely dislike the aot fandom), but there is a HARD limit to things that should be said to anybody in any fandom.
every fandom is toxic. that much is understood. what margaret fails to understand is that sending death threats to people and their PETS, and then saying "akechi said it, not me" is vile. she doesn't want an adult conversation. numerous adults and people who are 17+ have tried to be civil, until it got to an extent where there was no more being civil. she will go after anybody <17, and she's 21 years old, and will even tell minors not to interact with her when she actively attacks minors as young as 13.
you mentioned r^pe fics, and i get that. that's absolutely horrendous that anybody, ANYBODY would write them. but there are ALWAYS bad apples in terms of shippers. again, shitty people aren't a valid reason to be blatantly homophobic, and deny gay coding, towards a ship. it also doesn't give any validity to attacking people who are otherwise very civil people and have very healthy headcanons towards a ship.
honestly, unless you ship shutaba, akesumi, marushu, aketaba, and/or marusumi (plus any additional age gap + p5mc x adult confidant ship), there's no reason to be so hugely against people for having a ship. there's no reason to break several of twitter's community guidelines simply because you dislike a ship. margaret's original account (akecholic) on twitter got suspended because i reported her after she said that "if you ship shuake goro akechi will kill your pets" and twitter believed that that went against the comm. guidelines regarding abuse and harrassment. monty, margaret's friend, got suspended after telling me he hopes i get hit by a car, even though nobody reported him, which is evidence that he was already being monitored by twitter.
the bottom line is this: shuake isn't canon and that's on atlus. shuake is a ship. is atlus notoriously bigoted? absolutely! however, that doesn't deny inclusive coding within characters (ex: akechi being gay coded, ann being lesbian coded, futaba, yusuke, + ryuji being autism coded) because, no matter how atlus as a company is notorious for being homophobic and bigoted, that doesn't stop writers and artists and even voice actors from putting even the most subtle kinds of coding regarding a minority.
thank you for the ask though! i hope this was a bit insightful.

Sakura Futaba (For that detailed character meme)
A more detailed character meme! Send me a character and I’ll answer… | ACCEPTING
What I like about them
When it comes to Futaba, I like a lot of things when it comes to her character. From her wearing glasses to her role as a Phantom Thief - I love her original codename, Navi. I really like some of her confidant and Ultimate Persona, as well. We are also somewhat similar with our sarcasm and such, to keep that short :D
What I dislike about them
Most of her confidant, the undertones before the rank 9 romance option even happens…. are not my cup of tea. The head patting, for example, could have been saved for that rank 9 scene if you chose to romance her (I just didn’t really see anything ‘platonic’ there but I digress). I’m also very sad that her beta/concept design was scrapped, she looked pretty awesome, tbh. At least the art book showed them, that makes me happy ^^
Favourite moment
Hmmm, Futaba had some neat moments overall - and I’m not sure that these count - but I like the lines she says during battle, specifically against Shido and the final boss. For an actual moment, I guess it would have to be when she and Makoto scared each other after the Phantom Thieves went to look for her in the Sakura’s home.
Least favourite moment
I think everyone knows what my least favorite moments with Futaba would be - from the main game, at least - so I will talk about P5D, instead. Slight spoilers ahead if you are avoiding them. Despite what she says in the main game, I really don’t like her involvement in the Last Surprise music video - she’s 15 and was never officially a high school student (to my knowledge) so… it’s just meh, to me? She’s just starting to appear in the anime so I have no favorite or least favorite moments with her there, yet XD
A situation with this character that I want to see explored more
Probably her initial awakening - I understand why it was the way it was (P4-style and all) but I would have loved to see her calmly rip off her mask - somehow? - and awaken in the same way the rest of them (assuming with Goro, since we didn’t get to see his initial awakening at any point) did. It would have been so badass but oh well :/
An interesting AU for this character
Fool/Protagonist!Futaba was always a personal favorite of mine. I also like the AU where she and Goro are half-siblings. And anything with Kosei!Futaba is also amazing ^^
A crossover
Her talking with Fuuka or Rise. Possibly characters like Ken and Yukari too since they would understand how she felt after losing her mother. To keep this short XD
OTP (or OT3+ etc…. just… favourite ship)
None, used to be yutaba but I don’t have one anymore.
Other ships?
None.
BROTP
Futaba and Ren, to probably no one’s surprise. They compliment each other well! I generally love her with the other Phantom Thieves, so I have a lot of BROTPs when it comes to Futaba ^_^
NOTP
shutaba, aketaba etc.
An assortment of headcanons!
Futaba adores peach juice, pasta and pizza (but not with olives)
While she was still living with her mother, she used to own two pets - a dog and a parrot. Both of whom she personally named and loved dearly. She would also spend time with them when her mother was too busy with work.
She dislikes harsh sunlight and warm weather, preferring Fall/Autumn and Winter.
Futaba has a nickname for everyone she knows and cares about - from her childhood pets to the Phantom Thieves. She takes to using Ryuji’s nickname for Ren (RenRen) nearly right away, thinking it fits him to the T.
Her mother is the reason why she began to show interest in Neo Featherman/Featherman, having brought her first manga and figurine. For a while after Wakaba’s death, Futaba couldn’t look at her figurines and other Featherman stuff without being reminded of her mother - following a short while after the protagonist’s arrival and living arrangements in Leblanc, she brought them out of the box in which she put them away and then placed them on her shelf. Futaba isn’t too sure on why she did that at first but Sojiro saw it as a good sign, especially once she started to get better starting in August.

Summary: Futaba gets more than what she bargained for when she proposes Akechi is gay. Futaba/Goro
Disclaimer: I don’t Persona 5
————-
“He’s gotta be gay.”
The other phantom thieves looked towards their youngest member curiously, blinking several times, not quite getting her statement.
“What?” Akira asked her. Futaba rolled her eyes.
“Akechi—he’s gotta be gay.” Futaba repeated. Everyone blinked at her before Ryuji starting snickering into his coffee, trying in vain to hold in his laughter.
“That’s… interesting.” Makoto was able to voice out.
“How do you know?” Ann asked. Futaba scoffed.
“Come on! Don’t tell me you guys haven’t realized it! He’s always coming in here to flirt with Akira! I’ve been watching them dance around each other and I’m waiting for my OTP to become canon!”
Akira dropped the mug he was cleaning while Ryuji spat out his coffee, laughing obnoxiously. Even the rest of the Phantom Thieves looked amused.
“F-Flirt?” Akira parroted. Futaba wagged a finger, grinning.
“Come onnnnn. He’s never once ogled Makoto, Haru, or Ann! And don’t deny it boys! I know you guys done it!” Here Yusuke, Ryuji, and Akira spluttered, faces turning red. The three mentioned girls blushed prettily at the thought of Akira ogling them.
“I-I would never degrade myself with something so improper!” Yusuke exclaimed. Futaba gave him a deadpan look.
“Says the guy who has entire drawing collections of these three.” She voiced. Now it was Makoto, Haru, and Ann turn to splutter, turning their glares onto Yusuke. He shrunk down in the booth, sweating at the women eyeing him.
“It’s purely for artistic purposes I swear!” Yusuke cried as they proceed to wail on him.
“Ha! Serves you right, Yusuke! You know our ladies are fierce!” Ryuji was dying with how much he was laughing. Futaba’s grin grew even wider.
“So I guess those pictures I found on your phone are just for art as well, Ryuji?” Futaba sang sung and the three angry women turned their attention to the blonde next. He waved his hands in front of him rapidly.
“She’s lying! I respect each and every one of you!” now it was Ryuji’s turn to fight off the girls trying to get his phone. Meanwhile Futaba busied herself with stealing Ryuji and Yusuke’s curry as Akira sighed, sliding into their empty spots. He gave her a stern look.
“You just love to tease everyone, don’t you?” he scolded, but Futaba knew he wasn’t really mad. He could never be mad at her. Futaba grinned maniacally, rubbing her hands together.
“It’s more fun that way! Life’s too short to not torment one’s friends.” Futaba answered gleefully. Akira eyed her in disapproval.
“One day it’s going to bite you in the butt, you know.” Akira remarked. Futaba shrugged.
“Oh hush, no one can out-tease me! Now, back to the matter at hand, Akira, when are you and Akechi gonna tie the knot? Do you think he’s going to confess to you? Ohhh won’t it be cute if you do some cheesy stuff like kiss in the rain?” Futaba snickered. Suddenly, Akira smirked, seeing something behind her.
“I don’t know. Why don’t you ask Akechi yourself?” Akira grinned. Futaba stopped laughing, blinking and turned to see Goro Akechi, the one and only detective prince giving her a stern look. She paled, wondering why Akechi suddenly seemed scary.
Akechi then smiled his usual polite smile, but Futaba still felt wary. There was something about Akechi that seemed off. She hoped he was just annoyed with work and not because he heard her.
“I’m sorry, what was that you were saying about me and Akira kissing, Sakura?” Akechi asked nicely, but Futaba felt warning bells go off into her head. So much for not hearing her…
“Errr… ummm…” Futaba unintelligently replied. Akechi moved closer to her, and Akira smirked.
“I’ll leave this gremlin to you Akechi. Hey guys, let’s go up to my room.” Akira called to the others. They saw Akechi looking down at Futaba, and they knew the navigator was finally caught. Not arguing, they dragged Ryuji and Yusuke’s unconscious bodies upstairs. When the door clicked, signifying she was on her own, Futaba nervously laughed.
“I-I was just joking Akechi! I always tease everybody.” Futaba tried to show no offense, but what scared her is that Akechi smirked, eyeing her darkly. Futaba gulped, backing up into the booth. Akechi came closer, kneeling into the booth.
“So my sexuality is interesting to you?” he said smoothly, looking sadistically delighted at her squirming. Futaba blushed.
“W-well! I mean! You never look at Makoto, Ann, or Haru so I just assumed…”
Here his eyes turned hungry and his smile was predatory, making her heart race. Why did he look like he wanted to eat her up?
“Perhaps someone else suits my tastes better? Did that occur to you?” he asked her, still with that smooth voice of his. Futaba felt the effects from his maxed-out charm intensely. Akechi crawled closer to her, lifting a gloved hand to finger her cheek. Futaba gulped as Akechi smirked wider.
“O-oh? W-w-who?” Futaba stuttered out. Akechi inched his face closer, his lips so close to hers, but before Futaba could freak out, he turned his lips towards her ear, one of his hands snaking up to her neck where he cradled her head and the other on her hip, drawing circles into her flesh under her shirt. Futaba blushed brighter.
“Oh, you know, she’s pretty mischievous. She likes to tease others, but it seems when it’s her turn, she turns into a shy mouse.” His tongue darted out and it licked her earlobe. Futaba gasped as Akechi started placing open mouthed kiss on her throat, biting and sucking lightly.
“I-I’m not a mouse!” Futaba protested, her breath hitching when Akechi found a sensitive spot to suck on. He chuckled, sucking the spot even harder. Futaba was sure all the blood vessels in her face were going to burst soon. “A-A-Akechi! That’s going to leave a mark!” she cried.
“Good.” He told her bluntly. His hand at her waist went under her shirt, caressing more of her skin, teasing just below her chest. Futaba gasped. “Then people will know you’re mine.”
“I didn’t agree to this!” Futaba whined, but it was cut short by a moan escaping her as Akechi towered over her, tilting her head so their mouths could meet. He ravished her mouth, tongue caressing hers possessively. Futaba squeaked.
Yup. Those blood vessels must’ve burst by now.
Futaba didn’t know what to do. She’s never kissed anyone. Akechi dominated her, aggressively wrestling her tongue with his. Video games did not prepare her for this! She shyly stroked his tongue back as her adrenaline went into overload while Akechi continue to pet her. He growled appreciatively at her response. He ripped off one of his gloves roughly, his bare hand now caressing under her breasts, skin on skin. Futaba felt hot all over, as his other hand clutched at her hair.
‘Dating sims did not prepare me for this. Dating sims did not prepare me for this. Datingsimsdidnotpreparemeforthis!!!’
“Wrap your arms around me, little mouse.” Akechi took his hand out from under her shirt and grasped one of her wrists. Futaba numbly followed, her brain pretty much short circuited already, wrapping her arms around his neck, playing with his hair a little. Akechi smirked down at her flushed face. His usual princely smile came upon his face then, laughing at her softly. “You’re so cute.”
“T-Then I can go?” Futaba asked in a daze. Akechi’s eyes darkened and Futaba knew her answer. He inched his face closer to hers, frowning.
“Now, little mouse, I have to teach you a lesson first. Not noticing my affection? I can forgive that. You’re too sheltered after all. But to outright say I’m after Joker needs to get itself out of your head as fast as possible. And the only way to do that is to stake my claim on you.” Akechi told her menacingly. Futaba gulped, feeling dizzy from his personality changes.
“Don’t I get a say in this?!” Futaba exclaimed.
“Considering you haven’t pushed me away once already tells me your answer.” Akechi smirked. Futaba spluttered.
“B-but! You maxed out your charm! It feels too good! You must have a cheat code!” Futaba cried, pointing at him. Akechi looked downright amused.
“I maxed out my charm, huh? Is it stronger than Joker’s?” Akechi teased, but Futaba could see if she picked the wrong one, there would be consequences. Futaba face was practically glowing. How have her blood vessels not burst yet???
“I-I’m not the best judge here.” Futaba tried to weasel out of the question, and her answer made Akechi’s face darken again. Futaba cursed herself. Akechi pinned her down on the booth again, biting harder on the sensitive spot on her neck.
“It seems I need to do more convincing for my little mouse to give me the correct answer.” He bit down and Futaba winced, knowing there would definitely be a bruise there. He licked the spot gently, soothing her. She slid her hands over his chest and Akechi gave a growl of approval, using a hand to cup her ass and pull her closer to him. Futaba felt every muscle he had as they rubbed against each other, and it did nothing to stop the harsh beating of her heart. On the contrary, it only served to make her more hot and bothered.
Akechi rejoining their lips didn’t help her sensory overlord either. She could smell only him. She could feel only him. She could taste only him. Her senses, her very being, was dominated by Goro Akechi and it felt so good that she felt she was going to explode, and she wasn’t sure if any revival spell could bring her back.
She snaked her hands up shyly, playing with his hair softly, an attempt to stay grounded, but even touching the skin on the back of his neck with her hands electrified her as well as him. His hand tightened on her ass as they rubbed against each other. Was she affecting him in the way he was her? Did she make his entire being ignite like an inferno with every brush of friction like he was doing to her?
As if sensing her dazed state, Akechi parted from her, staring down at her curiously. Futaba stared back, sure she was in another world, because there was no way these feelings were of this world.
Her hands reached up, cupping his cheeks, surprising Akechi before Futaba smashed their lips together clumsily, her inexperience clear. However, it didn’t matter to Akechi, who groaned in pleasure and leaned her back against the booth softly. His gloveless hand came up, caressing her neck and cheek tenderly, before slowly parting from her mouth the final time. They stared at each other, panting, unsure of what to do now.
After a few moments, Akechi seemed to have decided she had enough torment, and separated from her painstakingly slow. He stood up, replacing his glove on his hand, never taking his eyes away from Futaba, laying there, blushing prettily just for him. Not Joker.
The beast inside him was sated for now, but he knew he’d come back for her, and make her fully his. He was too greedy—too selfish—to let her out of his clutches now that he’s gotten a taste. She shouldn’t have kissed him like that. She shouldn’t have given affection.
Now he can’t let her go.
Masking his feelings, he gave her a polite grin, holding out a hand to her to help her up.
“I think you’ve kept Akira and the others waiting long enough, Sakura. I just wanted to stop by, but I’ll be heading out now.” He told her in his usual princely attitude. Futaba took his hand shakily, not easily recovered from his passion like he was. He was careful to not pull her to him again. If he got his arms around her, he’d steal her away forever.
“T-Thanks.” Futaba said, the aftereffects of their kisses leaving her body humming. She watched Akechi go before wobbling up the steps towards Akira’s room. She opened the door to see her comrades.
The Phantom Thieves took one look at her, registering the pretty blush, the multiple love bites on her neck, the dazed expression, and couldn’t help but grin.
“So… Futaba.” Akira started, grinning teasingly. “Is Akechi gay?”
Futaba just fainted.

Spellbound (Futaba/Goro)
Summary: AU modern witchcraft. Futaba witch AU. A witch for hire, Futaba crafts a love potion not realizing it was meant for her friend Goro Akechi. Welp. Desperate times call for desperate measures.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Persona 5
-----------
Futaba panted heavily, practically gasping for breath, as she raced to Leblanc. She had to make it there before Goro would drink her potion!
In hindsight, perhaps taking a commission for a love potion wasn’t good judgement on her part, but Futaba had been eyeing a very old potions book from the bookstore for a while, and her greed won out her morality.
Now she was cursing her selfishness.
She should’ve asked sooner who exactly the love potion was for—that should’ve been her first question, but NOPE—that potions book was too deliciously distracting, and now Futaba was left with nothing but to haul her ass to Leblanc where her client would be dropping the love potion into Goro’s coffee.
‘I swear if I make it in time, I take any punishment!’ Futaba begged.
Her legs and lungs burned by the time she got to Leblanc. She could see all her friends there while her most recent client was batting her eyelashes at Goro, who appeared to want to back away but was too polite to do so. Her violet eyes zeroed in on the coffee he was about to sip, and she swore all of the Gods gave her strength in that moment to rush towards him.
“Goro! Wait!” Futaba called, but Goro didn’t seem to hear her so Futaba did the logical thing.
She leaped on top of him and smashed their lips together.
Futaba heard the distinct sound of the coffee cup dropping to the floor while Goro’s eyes widened as well as Ryuji’s shout of “What the hell?!” but her mind focused on the fact that her and Goro were currently lip-locking. Futaba sighed in relief, about to pull away, but was surprised when Goro closed his eyes and wrapped his arms around her, pulling her flush against him, and roughly biting on her lip to let his tongue into her mouth. Futaba gasped as Goro’s tongue traced hers.
She didn’t expect this to happen…
Someone cleared their throat and Futaba and Goro separated, both panting heavily, staring at each other in wonder. Futaba blinked, her attention slowly snapping to her now angry client.
“I’d like a refund please.” The girl demanded. Futaba shoved the money into the girl’s chest.
“Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.” Futaba glared. She was protective of her friends, and she was so grateful she was able to spare Goro from ill effects of a Love Potion. The girl huffed, slamming the door on her way out. Futaba stuck her tongue out at the closed door.
“Futaba, what the fuck man?!” Ryuji cried. Futaba turned to see her friends with varying expressions. Ryuji and Yusuke were gaping while Akira and Haru were trying not to laugh and Ann and Makoto were smirking deviously. Futaba’s face erupted into a bright blush.
“I-It’s not what it looks like! She was going to drug him!” she felt Goro’s chest vibrating with snickers, reaching up and cupping her face to turn her to face him. She blushed harder when she caught his smirk and heated gaze.
“So you thought that kissing me was the best solution instead of taking the cup?” Goro quirked an eyebrow and Futaba squeaked. The others were chuckling.
“We’ll let you handle this one, Goro.” Akira said.
“Yeah, just make sure to keep it PG though. Futaba is still innocent.” Ann teased.
“W-Wait! What do you guys mean?! W-What’s going on?” Futaba spluttered turning to them. Goro chuckled, drawing her attention back to him. His eyes glinted in amusement.
“You have no idea how cute you are right now.” Goro smirked. He leaned closer to her. “It makes me want to have you all to myself.”
“Annnnddddd that’s where we leave. See ya!” Ryuji bid them farewell as their friends all went upstairs to hang out. Futaba reached out for them.
“Wait! Don’t leave me!” Futaba cried, wanting to follow them, but Goro seemed to want her to suffer for he gripped her tighter, captivated by her.
“Don’t worry, Futaba. I don’t bite—much.” Goro’s grin was practically wolfish, and Futaba knew this guy was going to devour her whole.
“I suppose you’re not going to agree to forget this ever happened, are you?” Futaba groaned.
“Not happening. Sorry.” Goro told her, nuzzling into her neck. “You’re mine now. You’re going to have to deal.”
And Goro showed her exactly how she was his. Futaba wouldn’t ever admit to anyone else though it was enjoyable.

Hope you guys enjoyed this short oneshot!

Accidentally In Love (Futaba/Goro)
Summary: AU—no personas. Futaba Sakura is the most introverted girl you’d come by at Shujin. She’s also the best person to commission for love letters. Too bad Goro’s not easy to fool. Futaba/Goro
Disclaimer: I don’t own Persona 5
-----------------
“Thanks, Futaba! This letter should do the trick!” Ryuji grinned, looking it over. Futaba gave a grin.
“No problem. Maybe this one will be the one to finally ensnare the ice prince! Send my regards to our client.” Futaba bid him farewell as he hurried off while she pocketed the money, grinning excitedly. Soon she’d be able to buy that new computer she wanted!
If anyone were to ask about Futaba Sakura, they’d say the first-year student was very shy and kept to herself. She never really spoke in class and would often squeak if she was called on. No one paid her any mind—she didn’t really have any friends, and that was okay.
She was also the most poetic and romantic student at Shujin.
Now, it was an accident when Ryuji Sakamoto, her senpai a year above her, found her scraps of poetry, but apparently her scraps were so perfect he begged her to let him use them to confess to the girl he liked. He even offered to pay her. Futaba, shy and anxious as she was, just nodded rapidly and collected the money.
When Ann Takamaki squealed out a yes to him, apparently that spurned others to consult him on also helping them to get their crushes to like them. Ryuji secretly approached her again, proposing the idea they make a business out of it. Ryuji would be the decoy while no one really knew it was Futaba writing love letters for clients instead. Not even his now girlfriend, Ann, knew. That suited Futaba fine—she didn’t want people bothering her—Ryuji was the better one at handling people. Ryuji got recognition by their clients and Futaba got money—it was a win-win arrangement.
Without anyone realizing it, she was actually the one responsible for most, if not all, of the Shujin couples getting together. Makoto Niijima and Akira Kurusu were the school’s golden couple while Yusuke Kitagawa and Haru Okumura were praised as the school’s cutest couple and Yuuki Mishima and Shiho Suzui were the athletic couple—the list goes on really.
However, most of her customers consisted of girls vying for the most popular boy in their school, the Ice Prince Goro Akechi. So far no one’s been able to ensnare him, and Futaba grew frustrated as she composed letter after letter to make him fall, but alas, nothing could crack that exterior. It was maddening.
‘Oh well, at least his continuing single status is earning me a steady income.’ Futaba snorted. Only Ryuji and her shared their secret, and no one was the wiser it was actually introverted Futaba Sakura who was capable of composing such beautiful poems and love letters. Not surprisingly, all the success of her writings has given her a bit of an ego boost, and she knew once the Ice Prince fell for someone eventually, she could bask in success at her writing skills for years to come. Maybe she had a future in writing? It was a nice thought to Futaba.
Futaba continued to muse, cackling internally at her possible ego boost if this letter was a success, sweeping her empty classroom. Today it was her turn to clean the classroom and she wanted it done quick because tonight was curry night at the Sakura house with her mother Wakaba and her father Sojirou. She could hardly wait.
So immersed in her thoughts, she didn’t notice the classroom door slide open and a student slipping inside.
“I’m surprised. You really put your all into this one.” A smooth voice cut in. Futaba felt her heart jump and she whirled around to see Goro Akechi surveying a note he was holding, eyeing her out of the corner of his eye.
“A-ah! Akechi-senpai! Didn’t see you there. S-Sorry!” Futaba’s face flushed, her anxiety coming at full force. She was only ever comfortable with Ryuji these days. She bowed her head, avoiding looking at him. “I-Is there something you wanted?”
“Yes, actually.” Akechi told her smirking, pocketing the letter. He walked towards her and Futaba gulped, backing up into the wall. Akechi towered over her, his arms on either side of her head, trapping her. “Please stop writing love letters for my fans to give to me. It’s awkward turning down girls when you know the letter is from someone more sincere.” He stated seriously.
“W-What?!” Futaba’s eyes bugged out. How did he know?! Her and Ryuji were always careful with their secret business, yet, Akechi still figured it out!
Well there goes that ego boost she promised herself…
“It was easy to figure out there was a pattern in each of the letters. It only made sense they came from one person.” Akechi elaborated. Futaba gaped.
“B-But how did you know it was me and not Ryuji?!” here Akechi appeared insulted.
“Do you honestly think I’d believe Sakamoto, the guy who forgets his anniversary and doesn’t even know who Shakespeare is, is a Casanova with writing romantic poems?” Akechi quirked an eyebrow at her in challenge. Futaba looked away, cursing. He had a point… “All I had to do was see who Sakamoto hangs out with and it was a no brainer to connect the dots that him and all his friends used the same person to get their crushes to like them. Plus, he’s the only person who talks to you and vice versa.”
As Akechi continued stating his findings, Futaba felt an arrow shoot through her at every piece of information, her soul leaving her body. When he put it like that, it really sounds like they haven’t been trying to hide it at all…
“Okay! So I wrote all those letters! What’s your point?!” Futaba exclaimed, mortified he knew her greatest secret. “Are you going to laugh at me?!” her entire face was flushed, but she wouldn’t give him the satisfaction of making her cry in embarrassment. Akechi blinked.
“No, I actually wanted to ask you out.” Akechi simply stated bluntly. Now it was Futaba’s turn to blink, flabbergasted. She repeated his words in her mind over and over and it still didn’t click.
“P-Pardon?” Futaba spluttered. Akechi’s eyes darkened and he brought his hand up to grasp her chin in his fingers.
“I want you.” Akechi told her seriously, his heated gaze made Futaba’s stomach erupt in butterflies.
“Wait—what?!” Futaba gaped. Akechi chuckled, his face giving off his usual princely smile, releasing her.
“You’re so adorable, you know that?” Akechi grinned. Futaba huffed.
“Never mind that!” Futaba tried to control her blush from his words, but it wasn’t working well. “Why do you want me?! We never even spoken!” she protested.
“Technically you’ve spoken to me through your notes. Even if they were made for others to give me, your words were sincere. You see me, even if you don’t realize it.” Akechi said smiling softly. Futaba blinked. “As sappy as it sounds, I fell for you deeper and deeper with every word you wrote to me, and I decided if I didn’t make a move, you’d never approach me and keep composing notes for other girls to give to me while never figuring out why I kept rejecting them.”
“Errr well…” he was right. She would’ve never connected the dots that the reason he was rejecting her indirectly was because he wanted to be with her directly. The whole situation seemed so bizarre when she kept thinking about it.
“So, will you?” Akechi brought her out of her musings.
“Errr will I what?” Futaba questioned. Akechi clutched her chin once more, bringing their faces closer. Futaba could feel his breath fanning her face, and it made her heart pound erratically.
“Will you be mine, Futaba?” he intimately addressed her by her given name. Futaba’s blush flared up to the point her cheeks were practically glowing. What does one say when they manage to max out their stats to ensnare the most popular boy in the dating sim?
“If you keep looking at me like that, I’ll be anything you want.” Futaba blurted dazed from his intense gaze and then slapped a hand over her mouth, squeaking. She waved a hand in front of her to wave what she said away. “Sorry! Forget I said that! I wasn’t thinking!”
Meanwhile, Akechi was watching her, eyes glinting, and smirk wide. Futaba continued to babble and he grinned, placing a chaste kiss on her lips to stop her rambling. Futaba froze as Akechi separated from her, eyes bright with affection.
“I’ll keep that in mind. Can I walk you home?” he asked politely. Futaba clamped her mouth shut, afraid she’ll say something dumb again, and nodded. He grinned in delight, taking her hand in his and intertwining their fingers as they left the classroom together.
