As a game developer, I want to critiques the most famous Gacha games in the history.

Genshin impact:

I played this game since late 2020. Mondstadt, Liyue and Inazuma is a good update, to be honest. However, there is something lacking on that.

1. Storyline animation

The animation is bad and repetitive. The only unique one is the cutscenes.

2. Where's every update = got 20 pulls log in event in 7 days?

Like seriously? Star Rail doing it.

And then this is just my opinion. But as a straight tomboyish woman who likes male characters more that over sexualized female characters.

3. Too many woman and female in the game.

I understand because Hoyoverse makes Honkai Impact the 3rd first and there's a lot of WAIFUS. But they released woman for down bad man player. Don't get me wrong, I love Eula and Kujou Sara, but I'm getting tired of them releasing waifus. (Bouncing boobs, gyatt, etc)

And soo... After years, Sumeru is the worst update for me because I see the true colors of Hoyoverse developer.

4. Whitewashing Arabian/Egyptian, Indian and South East Asian characters. (Including African in Natlan)

That area is definitely the equator area, the area where the sun exactly cycling. No snow, just rain and sunny. So we asian are mostly have at least a little bit of a dark skin. However, Dori should have dark skin because SHE'S INDIAN! Al Haitham is also a bit too white. Layla, Faruzan, Kaveh, even Nilou and Nahida, the dendro god herself.

5. Bad design!

When Hoyoverse release Nahida, I was like "Wait... That's god of Dendro!?" She doesn't looks like trees or plants. Even her power, instead of making her burst like food covered, I would prefer if she looks up and then tree grow in front of her and the leaves is the shape of umberella. That makes 100% more sense! Also her design... Ugh!

She's supposed to be represented Earth, not MOON! She's not space Archon!

6. Dark skin = Meh gameplay

I've been waiting for Cyno after 2 years of playing and got him soon after he gets release. But... People said he's the worst five stars. Don't get me wrong. I can get big damage by using him, but...

Dehya and Xinyan are bad, Kaeya are mid (for anyone else. me? I still use him) and Sethos was forgotten.

After Sumeru update, there's Fontaine. I actually like that place, it gave me hope that Genshin learn from their mistake. Better storyline, building design ect.

And then, there's Natlan. Oh boy...

7. City of War? More like City of Entertainment

Hear me out! There's hotspring, the mountains are colorful, a lot of dancers and performance.

8. F2P (Force to Pay)

Sure, you can use a dragon to climb amd swim without spending stamina, but they cannot leave Natlan. You have to pull some of the characters like Kinichi, Mauvika and the others Natlan characters. I have Kinichi and I love him, but hell, no! I'm not going to pull the others.

9. WTF with the climbing system.

Aha! There's a bit edge between the area you climb. Yep! You stuck!

10. They won't listen

I don't think Hoyo will read this comment. They don't care about us Player.

11. Where are their money goes?

I heard that they made a nuclear power plant... WTF!? They should spend their money to improvise Genshin gameplay and map. But no!!! They spend money to make... Another game! I only accept Honkai Star Rail because, well... Honkai. But Zenless, and now I heard that they made a Pokemon liked game. Even no one care about their dating simulator game.

12. TCG

Ah yes... They updating more card, but WHO CARES!? I might be Cyno main, but please, enough! We already need to take story quest, Spiral Abyss, Exploring, now playing CARDS!? What about the Event quest or mini game!?

13. (My opinion) Bad story written, the good one is limited.

Too many yappers and not important quest. I want Susbedo, Hu Tao deadly experience... Too bad, that two quest is Event quest, but WHY IS THAT NOT PERMANENT STORY QUEST!?

14. RIP limited weapons...

I want Albedo's weapon, but again... That only exist in the EVENT!!! I used to have fish claymore and umbrella sword, but I got hacked and lost EVERYTHING!

I think that's all I want to critiques on Genshin impact. I didn't hate the game and I sometimes respect the gamedev of spending their free time to finish the game, but... Hoyoverse did not improved their game at all!

Waifu Wars #4: Homura Akemi from PMMM vs. Faye Valentine from Cowboy Bebop

hello hello time for an unexpected matchup <3 

Character #1: Homura Akemi from Puella Magi Madoka Magica

Synopsis of the show she’s in: The story follows a group of middle school girls, led by protagonist Madoka Kaname, who make supernatural contracts to become magical girls (mahō shōjo). In battling surreal enemies known as "witches", they learn of the anguish and peril associated with their new roles.

Character Design:

Homura Akemi is a young girl with long hair and a usually serious expression. Look at her. An absolute ICON plus of course the backstory episode where you see what she was like before as compared to when you first see her in the show...her look has always encompassed her personality  10/10

Life outside of the protagonist: she has none. Literally her whole driving force is Madoka Kaname. Feel that for her though. 0/5 

Interesting backstory: YES YES YES GIRL YOU HAVE SO MUCH GOING ON oh my god the actual EPISODE where we learn her backstory is my favorite thing to this day. I went into pmmm pretty much blind so I was absolutely thrown when it came up and it honestly recontextualizes everything she'd done in the show and is absolutely DEVASTATING when you realize what it means that she did all that she did. 10/10

Able to do adult tasks: yeah I'm sure she can probably. At the very least she knows how to shoot a gun and I will count that. 3/5

Character #2: Faye Valentine from Cowboy Bebop

Synopsis of the show she’s in: Set in 2071, in a post-apocalyptic world where Earth has become largely uninhabitable, the story follows a ragtag group of bounty hunters, known as cowboys, aboard the spaceship “Bebop.” As they traverse planets and moons in search of wanted fugitives, each cowboy contends with shadows from the past they can't outrun.

Character Design: 

 listen there is nothing that completely encapsulates 90s anime than Cowboy Bebop, and that includes Faye Valentine without question. She’s one of the most iconic female character designs of all time. Even if you don’t know who Faye Valentine is, I’m sure she is recognizable. 10/10 

Life Outside of the Protagonist: Though she isn’t the main character herself, (that honor goes to Spike Spiegel) she’s definitely a core member of the bounty hunting team. She also has a lot of her own things going on, she is her own person. 5/5 

Interesting Backstory: LOL WHAT BACKSTORY WOULDN’T SHE LIKE TO KNOW jk that’s an amnesiac joke but yeah she gets a solid 10/10 for that too. It puts a lot of what she does into perspective and gives her even more intrigue than before tbh. 10/10.

 Able to do Adult Tasks: I think so? Probably? Hard to say, I don’t remember.  3/5

I feel like I have to say I do absolutely adore Homura Akemi, all of my friends are very aware of my feelings but based on my own criteria she is the currently lowest scoring girl on the list. Tbh the only reason she was even on here in the first place was because I wanted to talk about her. I love her so much. The winner of course though by a landslide is Faye Valentine.
