the heartbreak prince | part 1/5: it’s been a long time coming.
“Do you think we could learn to love each other?” Will asks, and that question feels like something intimate and afraid and vulnerable and hopeful all at once.
Neither one of them looks at each other. If they did, Mike thinks, then this question might become an answer neither one of them is ready to give. A confession that this – this might just be something real.
“Yeah,” Mike breathes, and his heart beats so loudly, so nervously, in time with Will’s own. “Yeah, I think so.”
Or:
In the aftermath of a nearly thirty-year long war between their kingdoms, Prince Michael of Corazzia’s hand is offered in marriage to Prince William of Luzios—otherwise known as the Shadow Prince. Together, the two of them must learn to reconcile their own differences to forge a new path to peace and restore their two kingdoms left broken apart by war.

Comicgayt
I think I’ve actually made a fairly solid connection between byler and one of the most iconic gay couples in marvel history, and I know I’m not the first person to make connections between Will and Billy Kaplan but this is a bit more in depth + some other interesting parallels and a little bit of memes……potential major plot spoilers for s5 if I’m right ahead tho
So I was checking some fan wikis to refresh my knowledge on Billy Kaplan because I am very confident that Will takes at least some inspiration from him (gay nerd with reality warping powers and a heavy association with magic+ it takes a while for people to realize just how fucking powerful he actually is) and the scarlet witch and I randomly had the idea that I should look into Teddy Altman (aka Hulkling aka Billy’s husband) to see if there were any significant parallels between him and Mike because I thought it would be interesting……and while there are a few other parallels that are pretty likely to just be coincidental…..there is a much bigger one that could be plausible as an intentional reference. I need to establish the direction I think Will’s story could go in season five first and then we can talk about the stuff that involves both pairs.
So Will is going to be targeted by Henry in some way, that much is obvious. It’s also a pretty reasonable assumption that Will can control/warp the upside down to some extent (although Will has no idea he can) and that’s why it is still stuck on the day Will vanished as a result of Will being unable to move past what happened to him. I brought up the scarlet witch earlier because she’s Billy’s mom but also because of the House of M storyline (aka literary what wandavision is based off of) from the comics. This involves someone (Wanda) with the ability to warp reality to create a perfect world for themselves to live in as a result of a breakdown and rewrites reality and the memories of everyone else around them to prevent people from destroying this new world.
While I don’t necessarily think Will is going to create a new reality on his own I do think he will be stuck in some version of a perfect world where he is either not responsible for its creation and thus is the only one who knows this illusion is an illusion, or is the one responsible and doesn’t know it which would mean another main character (Mike or El probably) to realize something is wrong and fix it, or Will consciously chooses to stay in the fake world and needs convincing to leave. This ties in with Billy as when it was discovered that his powers could reshape reality there was a conflict where multiple characters were unsure if Teddy was warped into being the ideal boyfriend or was straight up completely fabricated by Billy’s powers. Will’s idea of a perfect world would need to address him being in love with Mike, likely by him and Mike being together or having mutual feelings in the perfect world.
So that’s where I think the story could be going with Will next season, so now we can circle back around and talk about The big parallel: King Arthur and Merlin references. On the comic book side of things we have two boys (both of whom are gay) who are both massive nerds, one of which is secretly an alien prince that is basically destined to one day be king and pulls a special sword out of a stone on the request of a group of alien knights and is deemed by the knights to not be currently able to lead them because he is too loyal to his friends on earth to leave them behind or he wouldn’t be worthy of the sword. The other boy is a magician that unknowingly had reality warping powers (and is also a twin but that’s not super relevant here) a heavy association with wizards and is literally both married to the other boy and was also given the title of court magician a la Merlin by his husband. (Additionally Billy has been turned evil and in that state is referred to as demiurge which is a form of evil god responsible for the creation of the material world and a specific interpretation of this force is basically just what vecna is in canon)
In stranger things we also have two nerdy boys, one of which is Mike who is heavily compared to a paladin and a leader but is depicted wielding a sword and shield in the painting, and the shield literally has a crown symbol on it and has some other evidence suggesting he gets a sword in s5. He also is way too self sacrificing and protective of his friend to the point he literally would rather throw himself off a cliff then living with the guilt of being the reason his friends got hurt. The other boy is Will who is gay and in love with his best friend, has a load of twin imagery with El, is very likely to have been the reason the upside down is mirroring Hawkins and is frozen in time, and has heavy wizard theming with an emphasis on him and Mike being a team and who has been literally possessed by Vecna.
So given that it’s possible Will and Mike draw inspiration from both Billy and Teddy and also Arthur and Merlin this makes a specific poster very interesting in my opinion:
So we’ve all lost our minds over this image, and if we look at some comic covers of Billy and Teddy…….
This is a really fun coincidence but I just think it’s neat and I wanted to share it with you!
Ps: These two also had romantic subtext that fans picked up on way sooner then it was revealed in story as well…..it’s almost like byler might be romantic y’all/s

HBO Max New Releases: November 2020
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
There are only two months left to go in this truly hellish year and relatively new streaming service HBO Max is trying to make the best of them. While most other streamers recover from Halloween and get prepared for Christmas, HBO Max is using November 2020 to fill out its servers.
Things are pretty light not the new original series front this month with only Industry (Nov. 9) and His Dark Materials season 2 (Nov. 16) making a splash. But the streamer has a couple of notable original films to complement them. Between the World and Me, based on the book by Ta-Nehisi Coates, arrives on Nov. 21 and Melissa McCarthy comedy Superintelligence arrives on Nov. 26. That’s not even to mention two intriguing projects that don’t have dates yet: The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Reunion Special and The Mystery of DB Cooper.
Thankfully, the real appeal in November 2020 is all the fresh library content making its way to HBO Max. Nov. 1 sees the arrival of The Dark Knight, The Hobbit Trilogy, all the Lego Movies, and even the first episode of Rick and Morty season 4 (with more presumably to follow). Those offerings will be augmented later on by the always-entertaining Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Nov. 7.
Here is everything else coming to HBO Max in November 2020.

Sorry, this is very, very, rough, but i started writing it in the tags and it kinda got away from me, and I don’t know that I have the focus necessary to turn it into a real story, so...
what if
high fantasy au
Mike and Max are prince and princess of their respective nations
Lucas is Mike's most loyal knight
of course
Max and Mike are to be married for political reasons
though they've never actually met before
Lucas is escorting Mike to Max's kingdom for the wedding
(they're going alone because there's a decoy group traveling more conspicuously)
(because there might be bandits who want to attack Mike and ruin the wedding!)
but the bandits find them anyway
Mike is kidnapped and Lucas is incapacitated
next day Max's kingdom sends out a search party
finds Lucas
brings him back to the castle and patches him up
Lucas: thanks for patching me up; I have to go save Mike because I love him uh I mean because he's my prince
Max: he's my fiancé I’ll help you rescue him
Lucas: uh you're a princess should you be running off on potentially deadly adventures
Max: you don't know the area, you need my help. also: try to stop me
on the way
they have hijinks
and develop feelings for each other
meanwhile, it turns out that the bandits work for a rival, evil kingdom
the evil kingdom has captured Mike in the hopes of forcing him to marry their princess instead
so that Mike’s kingdom gets absorbed by the evil kingdom and then the evil kingdom is bigger and has more power to do more evil
so Max and Lucas break into the castle somehow
and they make it to Mike and they’re like “we’re here to rescue you!”
and Mike’s like “great! But we have to bring the princess of this kingdom with us!”
because the evil kingdom is the lab and El is the princess and she’s not evil she’s just horribly abused because she was born with magic and her “papa” emotionally abused her to keep her subservient
(and it didn’t completely work; she’s still a little spitfire, but it worked enough)
And Max and Lucas are like “oh, of course we’ll save her too”
But also Lucas is a little jealous bc Mike seems to really care about this girl
And Mike is a little jealous because Lucas and Max have inside jokes and stuff from their arduous journey to save him; And what if Lucas loves Max and Mike still has to marry her and Mike breaks Lucas’ heart by marrying his girlfriend
And Max kinda has a thing for Lucas at this point and she’s known Mike for .5 seconds so she doesn’t see what’s so great about him, especially since Lucas is SO LOYAL and Mike has (apparently) moved on to care about El instead
And El just got her first friend ever and already he’s being taken away by better friends who know things about the outside world and seem suspicious of her
So they’re escaping but they’re also bickering and they get attacked by the monsters that that patrol outside the castle (aka demogorgons/demodogs)
And Mike gets injured!
And they get away thanks to El’s magic, but it’s a near miss, and everyone is fighting over whose fault it is
And Mike is injured and distressed and hallucinating from the pain
And El says she might know someone who can help
And Max and Lucas are just like “I thought you didn’t have any friends???” and are extra suspicious – she’s the princess of the evil castle and if she hadn’t been with them maybe Mike wouldn’t be injured
And El is like “I Will provide exposition if you Will carry him, Lucas, we have to get a move on!”
And anyway it turns out when El was a kid she had a sister, Kali, who eventually ran away rather than live in the Evil Castle anymore
And Kali only managed to get one message to El after she left
But she mentioned that when she ran away she stayed overnight nearby with a mother and her sons, and the youngest son is the only person known to have survived the demogorgon/demodogs
So maybe they can find this cabin and the mother and sons and maybe they’ll have a cure
So they head into the forest
And they meet Joyce and Jonathan and will
and it turns out there’s a cave nearby where Jonathan and Will used to play
and when Will was injured/sick
he asked to be taken there one last time
and there’s a lake in the cave
and when Jonathan was carrying Will into the cave, he tripped and dropped him into the lake
then he and Joyce dove in after him
and the lake doesn’t normally glow
but with Jonathan and Joyce, holding sick will, loving him with all their hearts and wanting nothing other than for him to be well
it glowed
it’s a magic lake
will was healed by the magic of the lake and Joyce and Jonathan’s love
and El is like “well, I’ve only known Mike for like two weeks but he’s pretty great”
and Lucas is like “pretty great??? Let me list all the things about Mike wheeler that are loveable”
and Mike is only kind of lucid atm, but he’s like “you love me???”
Lucas: yeah, man… uh… you’re my best friend!
Mike: :) but also :(
Max: facepalm
So it’s going to be Lucas and El who take Mike into the cave into the lake
But then!
The evil king has found them!
So El, who has magic, and Will, who has magic from being struck with Demogorgon sickness, have to stay to fight
Max helps Lucas carry Mike into the cave, then into the lake
And it glows a little
But it’s not enough
And Mike’s like “it’s okay, I know you love me like a bff but you are clearly in romantic love with Max, which is more magically powerful than platonic love and it’s okay, don’t worry about me”
Lucas: what the fuck? For someone so smart, you’re such an idiot! Yes, I’ve been torturing myself for days because I don’t know what to do about the fact that I think I might be developing romantic feelings for Max –
Mike: well, yeah, because I’m supposed to marry her
Lucas: no, because I’ve been in love with you since we were like 13, you idiot!
Mike: :o
Lucas: And I don’t know what we’re supposed to do about that after we get out of here, but we ARE getting out of her, because I love you, I am in love with you, and this magic water better get with the program so that you can get better and I can spend the rest of my life by your side
And the truth of the confession makes the water glow even brighter and Mike is healed
and Lucas pulls Mike to him and kisses him deeply and passionately
and Mike is just like :o :o :o <3<3<3
and Max is like, welp, glad you guys got that sorted
and Mike grabs her by the hand ad she tries to leave
Mike: listen. I don’t know you very well at this point, and you don’t know me, but… idk something something I trust Lucas and I’m going to marry you as soon as we get back to your kingdom, so we can probably work SOMETHING out because I love him and he loves me and he likes you and love just saved my life so maybe let’s give it a chance
and Max is so used to being left behind and the unfavorite and it’s all very touching
and they leave the lake and leave the cave and find El and Will have stopped the monsters and killed the evil king
looks like it’s El’s kingdom now!
(Also, it turns out Kali went to live with a woodsman named Hopper, and when she comes back he comes with her and he and Joyce hit it off and Joyce and Will and Jonathan kinda half-move into the castle, so that Will and El can study magic together with Kali and Hopper and Joyce can flirt)
So Mike and Max marry
And Lucas, being basically their bodyguard, sleeps in adjoining quarters “for their protection” aka so that he can sleep in their bed at night
Then Max’s dad, the king, dies and now Max is the heir to the throne
(I neither know nor care where Billy is in this AU. If this were a real, fleshed out story, I would say he comes back in the sequel to try to demand his rightful place on the throne, but. Again. I don’t really care.)
And it may not be her first act as queen, but pretty soon after her coronation Max changes the laws so that she, Mike, and Lucas can all marry each other
And they all lived
Happily
Ever
After
i emerge screaming from the bushes, covered in mud, handing you this photo. “ain, what is this?” you ask. “is there, like, context? a story behind it? why a cave? why is it glowing? is max wearing a really long dress that you can’t even see under the water? what’s up with that?” i climb a tree to weep.
#madwheelclair#not!fic#stranger things#art#fanart#lucas sinclair x max mayfield x mike wheeler#that's it#time to retreat into my hole again#also I'm very bad at social media so if it was rude to post this under your picture i can delete it

How 'Suits' Said Goodbye to Meghan Markle and Patrick J. Adams
Warning: Spoiler alert! Do not proceed if you have not watched Wednesday's two-hour season finale of Suits. If you have, read our exclusive interview with star Gabriel Macht on what's to come.
Bon voyage, Meghan Markle and Patrick J. Adams.
The longtime Suits stars bid farewell to the USA Network legal drama after seven seasons in Wednesday's two-hour season seven finale, which culminated in Rachel Zane and Mike Ross' long-awaited wedding. But how did Markle and Adams -- whose exits were made official in November and January, respectively -- get written off the show?
Over the last several episodes, hints had been sprinkled throughout at possible ways their characters could leave Suits. There was the clue that Rachel and Mike were ready to work together professionally on a much more regular basis. Then there was the option of the couple moving out of New York City altogether, either abroad (Iceland) or to the West Coast (Portland, Oregon). Both ended up being true, but with a Suits twist. We'll explain.
During the final season seven installment, Mike was presented with a job offer to relocate to Seattle, Washington, and open up a legal clinic with financial backing with the intention of helping the people who needed it the most with their cases. At first, Mike thought the offer was a ruse, but after Rachel did some digging, everything checked out. Suddenly, the possibility of moving to Seattle and helping people became a very real option. The kicker? If they agreed to lead the clinic, they'd have to leave the Big Apple sooner rather than later.
USA Network
The decision wasn't difficult for Mike and Rachel to make. The couple decide to take the leap during a bedroom conversation about the unexpected career (and life) opportunity that has landed on their laps. "We're young. We don't have any kids yet. If we're ever going to do something like this in our lives, now's the time," Rachel argues, presenting a strong argument to Mike for them to start a new chapter in their lives. "If we do this, we'd have to leave within days," Mike says, the reality of such a drastic move beginning to settle in. "I know," Rachel replies.
Then, the issue of their upcoming nuptials becomes the topic of conversation. Would it really make sense for them to fly back to New York City in six weeks for the wedding if they moved out West? What if they delayed it? "I don't want to delay it," Mike says, suggesting that they move up the ceremony. "Whoever can make it, makes it, whoever can't, can't." And so they magically pull off a simplistic yet glam wedding, thanks to the "miracle worker" that is Donna.
"From the first second I met you, I knew I wanted to be here with you someday, walking down the aisle arm in arm. I've learned one thing, it's that we never know what the future holds and that could be a scary thing. But I know that that there is nothing that I can't handle when I have you by my side," Mike says during his vows.
"I know that I fought it at first, but now, Mike, I can't imagine living alongside anyone else for the rest of my life. You are the strongest man I have ever met and you make me stronger. You're the husband I've always wanted and I can't wait to begin our adventure together," Rachel says during her vows, before the pair say their "I dos" in front of Rachel's parents, Louis, Sheila, Donna and Harvey.
Later, at the reception, Harvey admits to Mike that he was wrong about him not being ready to take that next step in the Specter Litt corporate ladder, telling Mike that he was ready to be senior partner at the firm after all. But Mike cuts Harvey off -- and that's when he breaks the news that he and Rachel aren't coming back to the firm. "We're not coming back, Harvey," Mike says to a stunned Harvey. "Rachel and I were offered a chance to run a firm in Seattle. It's a place that only takes class-action cases against Fortune 500 companies. We decided to go for it." Harvey attempts to persuade Mike to stay, telling him that he could do more pro bono cases -- a last-ditch effort to get his right-hand man to remain under his wing, knowing full well Mike wasn't going to go for it. The Seattle job, after all, ia the perfect opportunity.
"This is who I am. It's who I've always been," Mike says, rejecting Harvey's proposal. "It's time, Harvey. It's time," pulling his mentor into a hug. And with that, the Harvey and Mike era is officially over.
Tonight my last episode of #Suits ever is airing. Weird. Hope it doesn't disappoint. Thank you to everyone who turned an audition into 7 surreal years of my life. Hope you enjoy it. I know I have. Peace.
— Patrick J Adams (@halfadams) April 25, 2018
While Markle's real-life royal wedding to Prince Harry is only weeks away, her TV nuptials still had an air of glamour to them. For the ceremony, the 36-year-old actress -- opting for simplicity with pin-straight hair -- wore a romantic, princess-line Versailles wedding gown accentuated by a full floor-length tulle skirt by Anne Barge.
“We are truly honored to have such a radiant and empowering woman like Meghan Markle wear our Versailles wedding gown in the season seven finale of Suits and wish her every happiness as she prepares to marry her dashing prince," Shawne Jacobs, creative director and president of Anne Barge, said in a statement to ET.

The wedding dress should look quite familiar to fans of Suits, as it is is a modified version of what Markle wore in season five, when her character was left at the altar by Mike. The only differences to the gown for the season seven finale is the new see-through back and a thin black belt for an added boost of color. See Markle in the original Anne Barge design from season five of Suits in the Instagram below.
Tonight Season 6 of @suits_usa begins. #ThrowbackThursday to the Season 5 finale of #RachelZane (aka. @meghanmarkle) in the Versailles wedding gown!

Earlier this month, Adams spoke to ET's Keltie Knight about filming Mike and Rachel's wedding ceremony, calling the whole experience "surreal."
“I know it was one of the most surreal days ever," Adams said of the nuptials. "Meghan and I have been so close from the beginning of the show, so to finally get to that moment was really great. And to have the rest of the cast there and supporting, and I think we shot -- I think the only tease is that we were shooting it until about seven in the morning. So if you see some bleary-eyed people, that’s probably why.”
Suits returns for season eight this July on USA Network.

HBO Max New Releases: August 2020
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
It’s August 2020 and that can only mean one thing: HBO Max is about to enter Lovecraft Country.
Over the years HBO (and by the transitive property its new HBO Max streaming offshoot) has grown accustomed to debuting a buzzworthy new TV show or limited series every couple of months. For August 2020 that will almost certainly be Southern Gothic horror series Lovecraft Country. The J.J. Abrams and Jordan Peele-produced thriller arrives on August 14 on HBO and HBO Max.
Other strong HBO Max originals arriving in August include the documentary Class Action Park (release date TBD), Seth Rogen-starring comedy An American Pickle (Aug. 6), and finales for I’ll Be Gone in the Dark, Doom Patrol, and Perry Mason.
Of course, HBO Max is designed to house much of WarnerMedia’s content across many mediums. That means some recent movies on note like Jojo Rabbit (Aug. 1), Richard Jewell (Aug. 8), and Birds of Prey (Aug. 15) will all make their debut this month. The Dark Knight also arrives on August 1 to expand the streamer’s Batman collection.
Despite all the fun additions, however, August could prove to be pretty traumatic for Potter-heads. All eight Harry Potter films leave HBO Max on August 25. Hopefully New Scamander can help you get through the rest of the summer.
Here is everything else arriving on HBO Max this month.
