still havent seen that many horror movies (ca 90 on letterboxd i think) but i think i can confidently say that

a) (post-)apocalypse movies are my least favourite horror genre (100% including zombie movies)

b) murder games, slashers and horror comedies are my favourite horror genre

aka i watched Kadaver and its an Extremely good movie but it also made me really really sad even though nothing That graphic or sad happened, at least compared to other horror movies so i Think its because apocalypse and zombie movies at least imply that literally everyone is getting this shit, not just a small group of people.

that also explains why Us is so far one if the very few horror movies that gave me nightmares like That Could Be Me lol

#its a mix of zombie (and ghost) stuff isnt confined to one fictional thing so they might as well be here #and the idea that if it Was happening here i wouldnt be safe #i Like being safe lol #thats also probably why i like ghost movies way more than zombie or apocalypse movies #ghosts also arent confined to one universe but at least they only haunt like one family or sth #and it doesnt imply that This Could Be You #i guess horror is often supposed to do that bc its often meant to scare u #but yea #also murder games include anything thats a game u need to survi e #aka saw but also escape room or cube or the circle or would you rather or even final destination i think counts too #also v much the alice in borderland show if u know that one #i dont think its an Actual genre but i like those kinds of movies a lot
