Aizawa believing himself too weak to save a kitten, only to go on to comfort the symbol of peace always gets me.

But he was always strong enough. He was always a caring and protective person.

He was and is a hero, always lifting others to greater heights.

He just never truly understood and believed it until Midoriya said it.

There is so much going on with this setup and it says quite a few things about Aizawa more than anything.

Bakugou is being coddled immensely for instance. The only person with a room next to Bakugou is his favorite pet rock. The only other person in that hallway is one of the calmest people in their year, Shouji. The girls on the other hallway on that floor are friends with Bakugou (Mina) or at a minimum someone Bakugou respects (Ochako).

The only snag is that Bakugou is directly below Shouto and in theory he could walk around his room like he has a personal grudge on the person living downstairs. But in reality considering the house Shouto grew up in it's likely he steps very softly...

Except Satou, all of the students on the fifth floor are people that could easily get down from large heights without injury. But Satou is also someone who could carry multiple people in a pinch.

The second floor - the one closest to the ground - is clearly full of the students Aizawa sees as the most problematic and/or understands the least. No girls are on that floor because of Mineta obviously. The two most volatile quirks - Izuku's and Tokoyami's - are on the floor closest to the ground. Aoyama, who produces light (to potentially neutralize Dark Shadow) and is not quick to engage in fights, is placed between both of them.

This conversation makes it obvious the traitor was a student. This idea also comes up in the scene immediately after Aoyama's interference with the kidnapping.

Present Mic comes across as rash and aggressive here. UA was on the backfoot and still had a missing student. That isn't the time when they should be starting a witch hunt. Fanon tends to make him the good cop to Aizawa's bad cop routine, but in canon Present Mic comes across as more hardline. Like, the dorms were Nedzu's compromise. What measures was Present Mic willing to put in place on the hero course to root out the traitor?
