like i've gone and OC-ified all the agents, sure, but

i think the one headcanon you can rip from my cold dead tentacles is "captain 3 is a wheelchair user after Octo Expansion".

given how sanitization affects the brain and the whole body, there's no way that partial sanitization doesn't mess with your nervous system. with how much of the stuff gets on 3's face, there's no knowing how much got into their body proper! they have the eyes and the ink and the compromised sense of self, that's a lot of checkboxes marked off for sanitization!

like... i can imagine acht being at least somewhat okay, physically, after waking up. to our knowledge, their sanitization wasn't complicated or messy. (hey, it could've been, who knows.) i think they still have a plethora of health problems due to just... what sanitization does, but differently than captain 3's.

captain 3 not only got that shit in their eyes, in their bloodstream presumably, but there's also no way it was a "clean" job. this was hasty and hostile and the behavioral effects wear off when the ooze is removed, so this was 100% incomplete or botched. just something to get 8 out of the picture, it doesn't have to be perfect.

and it's.... idk, man. a complicated and incomplete sanitization job seems like it'd mess you up bigtime. you're not supposed to just be exposed to tons of goop like that, that won't ease your body into accepting the toxins! i don't want to imagine what happens to your nervous system and immune system in the process!!

but yeah tl;dr captain 3 can and should be a wheelchair user because of what sanitization does to people + because i love good disability rep.

give that squid some wheels.
