Sneak And Destroy! . . . Mixmedia Art piece done for a traveling art exhibition titled 'Can I Sneak it?' A group exhibition celebrating the love for sneaker culture. Each artist expressed their love to the scene in wonderful styles. Done first at the @freshpaintgallery popup space for the Underpressure international graffiti festival in Montreal 2019 @up_mtl . . For this exhibition I decided to draw my all time favorite shoe from the late 80's and early 90's the Airwalk 540, from my favorite skater shoe company Airwalk @airwalk. I can't tell you enough how much I was and still am obsessed with this shoe. I could sleep in them, never wanted to take them off, my feet were sticky for years because of them! No wonder I only had skater friends back then. Since the mid 80's Airwalk connected skaters and built a massive underground community. They were out there before many brands that today run the sneaker buisness. Open any skate mag from that era and you will see wicked skaters ripping them shoes hard! Masters such as Mike V @mikevallely , Tony Hawk @tonyhawk , Jason Lee to name a few, good times! Go check some history and learn a little about those times to know how we got to where we are. Airwalk is celebrating 30 years in the buis and I truly respect that, it's no picking running a sneaker company! Give me a call @airwalk I would love to work with you 😁. I called the piece sneak and destroy, playing on the famous Skate and destroy title from my favorite skate mag Thrasher magazine @thrashemag . . . The art piece was hand drawn with black ink on paper then colored digitally.
