I have literally never considered lance adopting silver but now that you’ve said it I literally am obsessed!!!!! It’s perfect! Like I really think lance would try his absolute best and silver would just be a huge brat about literally everything but he would deep down be so touched and moved but not really know what to do about finally getting attention that’s not negative and has no stipulations attached to it. Like now you’ve got me hooked!!!!!

The best part is that you can find Silver in the Dragon's Den after you beat the Elite 4 in HG/SS! It's basically canon! :D

Seriously though, their dynamic is really really sweet. Silver finally finds an adult who shows him genuine care, concern, and eventually affection. Lance is happy to help this misguided and mistreated kid grow as a person and find a home. Silver 100% Does Not Know How To Handle This, so it's a process of learning and growth and love!! And, as an extra special bonus, you get bratty older sister/wine aunt Clair. What's not to love?

So glad I was able to introduce you to the idea ^-^

When he arrives to the Kaiba residence, he’s surprised to find a humble abode.

Yuugi enters the receiving room, kneels, and closes the door with a quiet thud. One wall is decorated with a banner and on it an embroidered circle, half of it with the waves of the sea, the other half with a head of a horse.

His fiancé has his back turned to him. His black haori bore the embroidered with the same waves and horse on the wall. It must be the family crest. Yuugi is to be married into this family, should his fiancé not be rid of him in three days’ time.

He bows his head in greeting. “Pleased to meet you. My name is Mutou Yuugi,”

The master of the house doesn’t answer or turn to him, so he keeps his head down. Yuugi’s used to being ignored. He has never been outside of the Mutou estate since he was five. It’s best if he keeps his manners and bring no shame to the family or embarrass himself when meeting someone for the first time. Time and time again, it’s been ingrained into him that a servant like him must know his place.

The master keeps on reading his papers, flips a page after the other.

The bamboo fountain outside is a testament to how long Yuugi has his head down, waiting for the response and relieve him from his bow.

The master sighs, turns around and sees the boy still in a bow. “How long do you intend to stay like that?”

Yuugi keeps his head down. “Moushiwake arimasen.” My deepest apologies.

“I’m not asking for an apology. Raise your head,”

Yuugi obeys, but he doesn’t expect to see that his husband to be, might be the most beautiful thing he’s ever laid eyes own. Fair, porcelain skin, long, dark tea brown hair, and pale blue eyes framed by blunt bangs. His delicate features aren’t what is expected from a man of his status and a clan of power.

His breath is caught in his chest. Yuugi knows that the Kaiba family is an esteemed and wealthy clan, but is his fiancé of blue blood?

However, he mustn’t let himself be swept away by his fiancé’s appearance. He knows about the many brides this groom has chased away. Yuugi no longer has a home to go back to. Being sent to the Kaiba family head to be given away in marriage is the same thing as throwing him out to the streets.

No matter how difficult this marriage may turn out to be, he’ll have to endure it.

but i'm not sure i can continue with the my happy marriage thing for rivalshipping, because i'm already doing it for another fandom.

i tried to write it for rivalshipping, i truly did. but i found it difficult to assign characters to abuse yuugi, even though there are a lot of very unsavory characters in ygo. i also didn't want yami to stand in like an evil stepbrother or whatever. i haven't written for ygo in a long time, nor have i had the opportunity to watch it again.
