More French Air Force ‘Patrouille De France’ at Mather For the first time in 31 years, Patrouille de France is doing USA tour from March 17 until May 6. This USA tour is to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the United States entry into World War I and to reaffirm the historic ties between France and the United States. This operation in North America will mobilize more than 70 airmen, pilots, mechanics, support staff, 10 Alphajet, 1 Airbus A400M Atlas and 25 tons of equipment, demonstrating French Air Force reach capabilities. One of my grandfather's RAF issue watches. This was issued to him in February 1942 after his prior issue watch was damaged during bailing out of his MkVb Spitfire DU - U R6833 over Lampeter Wales (Feb 22nd 1942) he struck the tail fin. The Royal Air Force has confirmed that the 2020 RAF Cosford Airshow has been officially cancelled.

The organisers originally postponed the event hoping to run the airshow later in 2020 but say they are now clear that the precautions necessary to safely run the airshow under guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19 will be impossible to implement.

The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has confirmed that the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team (RAFAT) The Red Arrows will move to RAF Waddington in 2022.

The team and famous Red Hawks are currently based at RAF Scampton but the base is due to close and sold off in cost-cutting measures announced by the RAF in 2018.

A move to Waddington will see the Red Arrows stay in Lincolnshire.

The Wales National Airshow 2020 has been officially cancelled by organisers Swansea Council as a result of the Coronavirus Pandemic.

The free event is held annually in Swansea Bay and attracts tens of thousands to the local area providing a welcome boost to the economy each year but the 2020 event will not go ahead as the council has called off all of its events until the end of August 2020.
