So yesterday I became the first Air Cadet in the UK to fly in the BAE Systems Hawk TMk2 with IV(R) Squadron at RAF Valley! And it was an experience of a lifetime!

Nothing is going to stop me becoming a fast jet pilot now.

My passion for Aviation and wanting to fly and become an RAF Pilot, started early, when I joined The Air Cadets. This is me in my Uniform, but the Cadets offered my so many life changing opportunities. Be it with Cadet Camps, Duke of Edinburgh Awards, AEF Flying and an opportunity to mix with like minded people. I had a wonderful career, but it started with the Cadet Organisation. What did you do last weekend?

An unbelievable weekend at RAF St. Mawgan in Cornwall with Devon & Somerset Wing and Plymouth & Cornwall Wing ATC! Blank firing Military Skills exercise, first time for me in my 6 years of being a cadet!

We all had L98A2's (Semi-automatic variant of the L85A2) and a large number of blank 5.56x45mm rounds. 

3rd picture is of myself 'bombing up' my 2 blank magazine before our final exercise in which both sections were given 1000 rounds to use. Neither section used all the ammunition, turns out we're not trigger happy. Who knew?

15 Cadets experienced something that should be done much more often and hopefully there will be more next year!
