The only thing that sucks about being part of niche fandoms is the lack of official merch. However, the cool part of being an artist is being able to make your own merch of your favorite characters! Moomin does have merch but it’s super hard to come by in America. These are some Moomin figurines I made out of clay in 2023. I have other Moomin stuff I have made that I will eventually share on here as well!

¹ i have mentioned this before but to recap: we have buried a lot of our pets in our backyard but they only have wooden signs with faded paint designating them lol So i want to use my clay to give them gravestones where i would engrave their information, use flower language to represent each pet, and also portray the pet itself. these would be flat slabs (aside from the sculptures if i go that route)

🩵 I’ll be selling my debut clay eyeglass collection and other clay pieces at a local art market, and my goal is to raise funds to send to Besan!

I have treasured each conversation I have with her, and much of the art and clay I have been making is from her inspiration. 💐

Waiting for the rest of my stuff to dry and I made a cute little flower. :)

I'll probably make it into a barrette or something.

I honestly really like working with foam clay. It's quick to sculpt with and takes a lot less coaxing and conditioning than something like polymer clay, so I feel a bit less precious about it. I don't think I can make something as complex and nice as I can with polymer clay (at least not without a lot more practice because I've seen people make some crazy stuff with foam clay), but it's very fun to play with and you get quite a lot for your money.
