I like doing traditional stuff sometimes but ctrl z doesn't live there- so I don't visit often.

Air dancing is a fictional profession within the world of Mortal Centre (@studio-boo) where denizens train from a young age to be able to balance their body weight on their tails. Their tails are hidden in braids and jewellery to give the illusion that the dancers are defying gravity.

Being an air dancer means abandoning gender and personhood in favour of being a ✨ pretty ✨ thing ✨.

Both those things can be reclaimed when you leave the profession through marrying (which offers incredible upwards mobility as an air dancers' social class before their career is ignored).

Top ranking air dancers can be found performing at the parties of the upper class or at the palace. They can also be employed to stand places and be pretty. Or to eat dinner with you and be pretty. Or to pretend to agree with you on everything and be pretty.

Air dancers can be identified by their:

Small, flat horns (which tied down from a young age to keep a youthful appearance)

Long 'braids' (To hide their tails)

Clasped hands (when not dancing to hide claws and show passivity)

Smiles (They are expected to smile and go along with anything said to them)

Flowing clothes and jewellery to emphasise just how much they are breaking the rules of gravity

Tango street dancers, La Boca Buenos Aires, Argentina: La Boca is a neighborhood in Buenos Aires historically linked to the Italian city of Genoa. It is located in the southern part of town near the old port. La Boca is famous for its colorful houses made of wood and tin and also for its pedestrian streets. The most famous street is Caminito where there are many souvenir shops and performances of tango dancers.
