he paces around the apartment like a tiger in a cage, his skin on fire, his mind racing and furious, every nerve in his body awake and vibrating. he doesn't care about the blood spray on his clothes, doesn't bother to change. he wants to come off as unnerving as possible, because he doesn't want to be comfortable. he can't focus on anything else anymore, it all has to happen tonight, and it tears at him, rips at his chest and gnaws at the broken pieces of him. he doesn't want to do this, he doesn't want to have this conversation. but the burning must stop.

he's already let it eat him up inside, already to the breaking point of just caving in on himself until he's a particle of no mass, only weight and heartache. it's gotten so bad, to the point he almost just fucked up a job he'd been assigned to, putting way too much lead into his target. it was supposed to be a long-distance kill, but jiyong had let his emotions over his girlfriend ruin his calm, so he ambushed his prey and put seven bullets point-blank into the stranger's chest. it's a fucking miracle he's not in jail at the moment, that he will get away with it. he'll get into trouble with his boss probably, and they might dock a bit of his pay, but he won't be in chains.

except the chains he's in right now. that all happened less than an hour ago, and he's been messaging bora, texting her, calling her, waiting for her to get home like a madman, grinding his teeth and hissing in breaths as though the air itself burned him. he feels like a bull, ready to go on a rampage.

the problem is that a few days ago, a long-held but never-spoken suspicion he's had about his beautiful, soft, dreamlike girlfriend became confirmed, out of the snide remarks from the lips of a low-life thug jiyong couldn't have cared less about. he didn't hesitate, however, to pull a gun out and shoot the man in both legs before he could finish talking about the price of go bora's pussy, but he didn't act on those words just yet. jiyong let them fester inside his mind, let them take bites of him every time bora leaned in and kissed his lips, every time she smiled at him, every time she came home late for no discernible reason.

he can't stop thinking about every conversation they've ever had, trying to piece together why this is happening and what he should say. when she opens the door, finally finally finally, he sucks in a breath and holds it for a long moment, his head tilted downwards, staring at her with a low brow. he doesn't know if he looks as angry as he feels, but his neck strains as he tells her, "we need to talk."
