New specific works for a specific exhibition ' Arising African Perspectives' happening 5 May 2017 at @lkbgallery Hamburg. This is the first work made for the show, under the theme ' memoirs through Pokua's window'. 44 in x 75 in. The artists works in memory of the artist's late grandmother and old home in Ghana. He creates a crumpled collage of old family album pictures with imagery refrencing menial jobs that his family partook in: salon posters, barbershop signs, sign writing posters, buying and selling, labels and host of others. And features an assemblage of old Ghanaian relics from the 90's which makes up a local home. ( but is not shown in this picture). The project makes a commentary on the constant neglect of old vintage Ghanaian relics for supposed modernised items in the contemporary Ghanaian society, which are influences from cultural imperialism. From the artist's perspective, the societal historical memories embedded within the relics presented in his project merits documentation and collecting.
