Tried my hand at watercolours after a while, here's Ahmesankh with their trusty velocipede! Directly "inspired" (read: basically copied) from a Harper's Bazaar illustration straight out of 1894!

Found it while searching for a more androgynous silhouette in victorian clothing, there's so much cool stuff beyond the more well-know designs!

It's based on canon ocs relationships + headcanons + some inside jokes, it started as a reference for the group chat to keep up with our own drama

One more dramatic coat! This time I got inspired by this wonderful 1838 fashion plate, and tried my best at recreating the light effect of flashy red velvet fabric. To complete the look, a classic tasseled sword-cane stands by my side - a proper dandy ought to never leave the house without it!

BEHOLD, MY MASTERPIECE

So @esteemed-excellency , @that-fella-snipsnop and I went out together for boba tea last week and started doodling, so of course our Fallen London characters simply had to do the same and my gods I can't express how much Ahmes is SHOCKED, DEVASTATED, FLABBERGASTED by hearing that Hiram does the spirifier??!!! You can't just go around taking other people’s Ka!!! You're gonna upset the whole balance of the underworld!! 😱😱😱

And then there’s @that-fella-snipsnop just chilling next to us with his crab friend ^ , ^✨

"A sudden flow of warmth enraptures you and the soft embracing glow locks your eyes in place, as the mellow sensation seeps down into your chest and grasp your heart. A sweet tingle rises from the back of your eyes, now filled by warm light and no longer able to shy away from the sinuous figure of mysterious and indistinct gender approaching you.

For a moment, your ears ring with the rush of fresh water. Your skin can feel the touch of the gentle wind that flows through the green palm leaves above and caresses the lush carpet of lotus flowers filling your view, all gracefully suspended on the great river sprawling before you, the waters glittering in the light of the shining golden disk nestled in the open sky...

The Sun...

"A pleasure to meet you" the clear, smiling voice and the tingling of jewels snaps you back into focus. A bejeweled, bandaged hand now stands held out towards you, awaiting your response."

And here they are, Ahmesankh as the Darling of the Ambassador's Ball! I like to think they lengthened their linen skirt so much as to touch the floor in order to mimic the long and voluminous victorian ball gowns! Complete with jewels, an ushek collar, their faience Ankh pendant, kohl eye paint (which is actually painted on the bandages) and a curly black wig topped by a perfume cone!

And yes, their eyes are actually shining cosmogone! Advert your eyes or else, get eldritch'd by them! That's also why they would usually wear glasses, unless they want to be extraordinarily radiant :3

My very own first drawing of my Fallen London character! Here’s Ahmesankh in their morning outfit, sporting a Bundle of Glad Rags, which is literally just a worn coat over which they stitched part of their funerary set, a Pair of Cutpurse’s Mittens for those days in the Flit, and a Modish Bonnet to top it all. So scandalous!

And here’s my character in their fancy evening outfit! Ready for a charming nights out spent in the company of glittering high society, attending consicence-expanding shows at Mahogany Hall, and for showing up at their next assassination attempt with the usual utmost class, of course.

“Greetings, my fellow Fallen Londoner...

My name is Ahmesankh, but you may call me Andante, as this delightful name is what the modern folk of the city have begun to know me by. Oh yes, for I was born many, many moons ago in a land most far away, in glorious Egypt which rests in the fertile cradle of the great river Nile.

There I lived, and with my own very eyes I saw the splendour of the prosperous cities, holy temples and bountiful fields, all made so by the strong arms and sharp minds of my people. But, as all has to pass someday, I passed too, and placed I was in my sacred tomb within these bandages.

And yet, I rose… When the city Fell, I woke up as I would have on any other day, healthy and alive, as you see me now! Plus the bandages, of course, but we won’t talk about that for the time being. Alive again! And Life, Life I wanted more than anything! To see the world into which I have awaken once more, and taste its delights and wonders by myself!

The guards and curators of the Museum where I found myself awake seemed to have other ideas about this, with all of their “You can’t just walk out! You’re a priceless museum piece!” and “AAAAH THE MUMMY’S ALIVE!” But never mind them! I quickly escaped and made them loose my tracks, eager to venture out into the world as I was! 

And now I’m here, tasting the joys that Life has to offer right here next to you, my gracious friend! Will you take my hand and join me in delicious company?”
