He didn't often get sent out on errands at His Majesty's whim -- after all, he was a soldier, a colonel, and he had far more important duties to attend to. But when one is faced with the choice of either traversing the streets of Grand Chokmah on an errand of-sorts, or having to listen to the Emperor of said city prattle on about his "precious rappings" (mostly about the one that shares your name) --

Well, nine times out of ten, one chooses the first option.

At least, they did in Jade's case. And it was that choice that led him to find himself here; in the center of the sunny city, face-to-face with a redhead that he could not mistake for anyone else if he tried. No-doubt the other had stopped once they'd seen the Colonel himself -- but whether that was because he was glad or dreading this encounter had not yet been revealed.

Red eyes squint as they look the swordsman over, and lips purse in an amused manner. "This is quite the surprise; I can't say I was expecting you to 'drop by' at any point."  The amused air around him only grows as he continues on, one hand raising to push his glasses up. "Or was that your intention? Coming all this way to see me, so as to get some sort of reaction --."

His expression never changes, never wavers. "I'm torn between being flattered, and telling you that you could have done better, Luke. Truly."
