Little comic about an idea that has been stuck in my head since ch 267.... The gang goes to the movies!!

I really enjoy thinking about movie nerd Yuji and the 'Everything Everywhere All At Once ' parallel in ch 267 had me thinking about this....

Okay HEAR ME OUT--

In theory, if you imagine the gang as family members, it would work something like:

POMNI: gremlin sister/cousin, she's the one who starts all the fights and arguments;

JAX: that little known to whom relative who comes to visit once a year just to teach the kids swear ditties and tell an outrageous story at the communal family table. Your mom thinks he's the one "there's no harm in family."

KINGR: a venerable elderly uncle/grandfather, he may be a third cousin twice removed, but he is adored and respected by everyone, even if he is a little out of sorts at times from old age;

ZOOBLE: a strange relative who appears only once in your life and leaves behind incomprehensible sad memories;

RAGATHA: the universally adored auntie/grandmother/mom. The most understanding and gentle person who supports you in every situation. Probably amasses a beautiful collection of mugs and crocheted doilies;

CAINE: a kind uncle who appears in your life more often than any other relative, but looks sad at times, and because of the damage to your health from tobacco, your mom kicked him out of the house for six months at least;

GANGLE: the oldest of all the cousins/youngest auntie, tall as a bobblehead, emotional as a child. Loves to draw with you and mold plasticine, but don't need to upset her, or..;

BUBBLE: the fucking OUPPY

Hmmm, I'd say it's something more like:

Pomni - The seemingly careless and potty-mouthed relative who gets easily ticked off at the dinner table, but would actually sit down with you, have a genuine talk, and give you a pat on the back when you're feeling down in the dumps

Caine - The one comedic and caring relative who seems goofy ahh, but you when see him smoke outside and sigh so sadly to himself, you realize he's hiding so much baggage that you could never fathom, or will never know because he wants to keep it from everyone

Ragatha - The wine mom of the group, she's good at hiding it but she's actually a couple of threads away from snapping and thus needs some scheduled alone time to unwind (but you are right on the collection of mugs and crocheted dolls)

Jax - The stupid older relative who constantly bullies you and just says "It's just a prank bro" everytime he says something offensive or does a harmful prank because he doesn't know how to lower his masculinity and be vulnerable

Gangle - The talented relative, but was raised by a pretty bad household so now her self-esteem/confidence is at an all-time low and she's very anti-social. You'd have to interact with her first if you want ANY kind of socializing out of her

Z - The one distant but cool-looking relative that seems so apathetic and monotonous all the time, but then once you keep spending time with them and learn their interests, you'll actually find out that they're a bit of a geek about it

Kingr - That one constantly distracted relative who would constantly ramble about his interests, or help you up on the top of the shelf. When you ask questions about his past, he'll answer with quite possibly one of the worst things you've ever heard someone do, but there's a twinge of regret and sadness seeping through his tone.

They're a messy, imperfect and slightly dysfunctional found family, but still loving and caring for one another, just scarred by their pasts and needs healing from it.

... and Bubble is definitely the fucking dog.

And what WG episode with Tobecky is my favorite? Hmm...toughie. There's some episodes, obviously, that have Tobey in them, but I don't consider Tobecky moments immediately (example: Field Day Fun with Robo-Tobey).

If I were to ever choose my top ones and narrow it down, though, it would go (no order just naming):

-Department Store Tobey

-Trustworthy Tobey

-It's your party and I cry if I want to

-By Jove, you've wrecked my robot

-Have you seen the remote

-Guess Who's coming to Thanksgiving Dinner

-The Robot problem

And to narrow it down... Okay damn it's tough again. Because I love their banter in By Jove and the hint that he's been getting a crush on Becky, but they have more sillier softer moments in season 1 episodes like Department and Seen The Remote. But Robot Problem has them actually team up, and it's the first episode where I started to ship them. BUT--Its My Party has them actually get ice cream after years of build-up and Tobey coming to his senses moments. And of course, Thanksgiving Dinner with them actually smiling at each other for one, HOWEVER, Trustworthy Tobey with being his last focus episode where he's strictly not being the worst and maybe turning reasoble along with it being Becky and Tobey conflict and not him and Wordgirl (PLUS THE NOTE UGHH)--

But for the sake of answering this....I'll go with right now...AHHH, it's gonna go to Trustworthy Tobey. It's what I'm feeling right now. Mostly cause... I remember when I did my Wordgirl re-watch in late 2017 that got me into the fandom again and started this years long hyperfixation. I was dreading the last Tobey episode/last Tobecky moments we'll get. You see, I liked the season 7 and 8 Tobey episodes, but man, ever since season 1, it's been hard trying to justify this kid when he gets washed like every episode and so I was like "plss be good" or at least give me hope for his character cause I didn't want him to regress. And what do you know...hope! Sure, he's still an immature jerk that's still in character, but at least he wasn't extreme or not immediately dismissive. He actually kept up being truthful and Becky learned something, not to mention he doesn't get scott-free either and this time the most he does is just unleash a malfunctioning robot to a library and not like destroy buildings or attempt to kill people.

Plus, I find it extremely interesting the dialog and moments he has with Becky as Becky and not Wordgirl. Because call me silly but to me peak Tobecky is when he interacts with Becky as herself and not just Wordgirl--the ship name isn't Wordbey after all. Plus again the note YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH THAT SCREWED WITH ME WHEN I SAW IT. Because another factor to why I hold up this episode so highly...even though Robot Problem/Have you seen the Remote is what got me to officially ship them...this episode is what inspired me to make a lot of my Wordgirl and Tobecky content. Cause it filled my imagination in what their relationship and Tobey's character could go next and there was no new Tobey episode to contradict it tehe. It drove me to read fanfiction. Start drawing on my dingy phone with FlipaClip. Start drabbles that I never posted. Interact with others. It...kinda drove me crazy? Like it legit didn't make me okay, but hey it's why I consider it personally my favorite.

First off I'm very happy to know that I can be an inspiration to you, thank you so much!

As for growing on tumblr... ahh, I honestly don't know the "proper" answer to this haha. I love zosan/one piece, and I love drawing, so I just started drawing them and post my art here both because I want to share my creations and I love being part of the zosan/op community. When I first started I honestly was a bit scared of how people would react to my art, but turns out a lot of people liked them! So I just continue posting until now, and the number of people who like my art grows naturally. I may not say this all the time, but I really do love every interactions I get from my posts here. I'm happy to know that my art can bring joy to other people.

So I guess if there's any tips I want to give, is that if you have anything that you want to post -- be it art, fic, ideas, or anything -- then just post them! If sharing your art makes you happy, then do it! I'm sure it can feel intimidating at first, and there are times where I feel disheartened when I compare myself to other bigger, more popular artists. But from my experience, there will always be other people out there who will love and appreciate your art. Just take it easy, enjoy your time, and do things that make you happy 👍

Ahh thank you oh my god! I'm so touched you love those guys and Yuna & Kawachan. I really do want to do something with those kid detective characters and right now I have some vague ideas I'd need to flesh out more. The illustrations I'm doing right now are visual development stuff to get some ideas for interactions, backgrounds, etc. And if I'm able to pitch them to a comic publisher they'd be good key art for a pitch presentation!

I'm so happy you love Yuna and Kawachan. I haven't done anything concrete since because I tried pitching some comics right after the series ended (none went through but that's just how that is) and then I started working on a preschool series for Disney Jr that has become my full time job currently. When the show is finished and Im back to looking for work I'd love to pitch comics around again if I'm able. I'm incredibly happy that even tho producing Yuna & Kawachan was so stressful and time consuming, I never got to the point where I disliked the project. I just needed to recover afterwards because it was pretty mentally and physically taxing working the Webtoon workload. I've been worried to start a comic while working on Pupstruction (new episodes coming out on the 27th lol) because I really don't want to burn myself out before I ever really begin. So doing these illustrations and concept art stuff has been extremely fun and helpful at keeping me a little motivated. I hope the other illustrations turn out well!

I think I alr answered something similar to this question but it's not the full story so we're in for a ride.

So I actually knew about MO4 during 2020-2021(?) from Pinterest, at that time I still learning how to draw better so I just surfing Pin for some ref. I think it kinda painful to see MO4 fanart still got listed as a base btw, but at that time I just minding my own business so I don't paying much attention.

Now, fast forward to 2023, I gradually lost my interest in my other fandom, so I just search for something to spice my life up a bit. That when I actually care to search up information about MO4. At first I thought I will only look at some fanarts (dude MO4 fan artists is cracked) or originally my Twitter account was for ranting.

Hell no I fell right into the rabbit hole, I start getting addicted to the game, the fandom. I met soo many new permanent friends and peoples are so nice there 😭

The fandom was really quiet but friendly, and the interaction between fans are so fun! Such a drastic change to my other fandom - drama every single day 💀.

Yeah it's just that... I'm just really grateful for have joining this fandom, well ofcourse all fandom can't escape from toxicity, but at least it brings me peace and comfort.

I even play the whole game and engage deep in the lore! (even though it in full Japanese, luckily there are translation on YouTube)

I'll be honest, I'd found the relationship stuff alright so far. That said, it seemed almost out of nowhere for Julie-Su to be acting like her and Knuckles were a thing (unless the idea was that he was supposed to just know, which is stupid- fuckin' communicate), aside from that one kiss that clearly left Knuckles confused.

Vector being kinda a shit head and "wantin' to hit on babes" and the like "without ever gettin' weighed down by a ball and chain [Marriage]" fits well enough with the character they established for him at least, and frankly, I was fine seeing that plot play out- hopefully ending with the whole thing as a lesson to Vector to be less of a sexist dick or something, IDK- character growth, or maybe some karma.

Now, this comic is NOT new to relationship drama- that's why Geoffrey was first introduced, and I've been variably tolerant of it. But ultimately, the best relationship elements of the story, in my opinion, have been those built around genuine care between characters, and how they communicate their care and navigate their relationships with each other.

Like, Geoffrey and Sonic fighting over Sally fuckin' sucks (for SO many reasons, but let's ignore the accidental pedophilia issues in this case- still so many problems). Meanwhile, having Sonic get a bit insecure over Knuckles and Sally, ending in him asking Sally a question that leaves them both thinking "Ahh, haha, he/she cares :3" is great. The first is plagued by inconsistent writing (it seems like half the writers want Sally and Sonic to be very loosely a thing, while the other half want them committed to each other), Geoffrey never seemingly having respect for anyone EXCEPT the girl he wants to bone (coincidentally the princess), and there never being a proper scene of Geoffrey really respecting Sally beyond a surface level it feels like. Meanwhile, we have been learning the history (slowly) of Knuckles and Sally, and we see a clear respect they have for each other- meanwhile, Sonic and Sally bounce off each other constantly, having genuine issues and some fights between them, but also often resolving them one way or another; we have scenes where they just talk, where Sally confides in Sonic and he supports her; Sally mourns the death of Sonic AND Knuckles when they get nuked in Robotopolis, and Sonic is horrified to see a roboticized Sally- hell, the BEST scene that ever happened involving the Geoffrey/Sonic/Sally love triangle was when Sally was "dead" and Geoffrey and Sonic screamed at each other "You killed the woman I loved" "You only love yourself, I'm the one who loved her" because it was all built on genuine heart and emotion.

I don't know. I'm not a romance person- romcoms and love stories and (generally) romantic will they/wont they sitcom type shit just doesn't do it for me. I love The Night Circus (go read it, the love story is generic but the fantastical imagery IS SO GOOD!!!!!!!), and I can bear a romantic subplot just fine enough- The Seven Realms is a series with romance and some love triangle esq stuff at it's core, and I still love those books (the dance and proposal in book 4 is SO good- but I have personal reasons to love that).

Still, I'm not an active fan of this space of tropes. I just... want genuine affection and character insight and to see what happens when two characters are put together- some ships are fun in the same way a car crash can be, just watching as two characters interact like water and oil under the heat of romance, while other times these stories are great because of how they humanize the characters and help draw out deep down pieces of them.

All this ranting... the reason I started typing this is: I absolutely hate the trope their setting up in the included panel, I hate it so much, whyyyy?????????? I was having a decent time...

To my understanding, this isn't the end of relationship drama in the comic, it might get worse, and... oh boy. I know there's bad art we've yet to see, and quite likely some stories that'll be worse than what came before. To be honest, I've found most of the comic to be, at worst, low quality and/or convoluted; plenty of it has been enjoyable, with some fantastic art, some really cool and wild ideas, and some great character stuff and all around good execution- not all of it certainly, it started off as nothing Loony Toons bits and even later hasn't been consistently good at all, but more and more it's been getting better in my eyes.

But I worry that, what's to come, might be the bad stuff people attribute to Penders. It feels like everyone makes fun of or complains about Knuckles The Jesus and how convoluted everything is and Geoffrey St. Pedo, as well as the art, but I've yet to see that horrible Vector dancing image, or stick-thin-limb Sonic in need of a haircut, and I worry that the genuinely bad quality writing is yet to come...

Ahh, lying about your age to avoid callout posts was something I did, too. Mostly because it happened to me before when writing/drawing creepy pastas. It wasn't smut, just dark content people didn't like me writing. So, for the LIS blog, I just lied and said I was like 19? If I remember correctly, just to post, like vaguely steamy content. About a super-powered punk serial killer and super-powered depressed hipster.

We wince looking back, but those past little nuggets helped us press forward.

As much as we can make fun of them, we can't deny that without these old accounts and stories, then we wouldn't be here today.

It's because we can look at where we started and how far we've evolved and changed that we can have the confidence to write and post more, to be more indulgence with our art.

All those beloved cringy stories helped shape our skills, we had to start somewhere, and no one aims to learn better than a person at a humble start. So much of my current euphemism and dictionary is in thanks to those years I spent writing stories and getting unsatisfied with my choice of words so much that I went searching for guides and reading writing and thesaurus books.

It was when I first had readers to interact with, when I first began understanding where to establish my boundaries and the times I let people cross them and got uncomfortable. It's also when I first realised how important marketing is for wrtiers, sadly, how if your account and story don't look pretty, then a lot of people won't give it a chance.

I liked the doodles and pretty headers but I hated the advertising and marketing aspect. Making a story look appealing and having to tag with the trending fandom related stuff. It felt ingenuine but I knew no one would find it otherwise.

And omfg, a super-powered punk serial killer and a super-powered depressed hipster sound literally so cool, how dare you rob the world of that.

Yes, those moments were fundamental. They're the clumsily carved bricks that make the foundation in our own story. They're the reason the bricks at the top are so alligned and well-cut.

Our minds can be unforgiving when it comes to our own mistakes, current, and past. So it's good to take a step back and see the whole picture. Where we started and where we're headed to. I was never happy with my writing before, not truly. But these days, I am. I take pride in what I make, and that's all that matters.

Hey! So sorry for the late reply, I went on holiday for a week with my friends and the signal was so bad with barely any wifi, and then I came home and had to go back to work instantly!

I definitely need to update my page haha, I haven't done circus since i was like 21 (i'm 26 now) but it was a huge part of my life, I did it from the ages of like 12 - 21 and even moved to Tasmania at one point to work at a circus over there. Nowadays, I still sing a lot but haven't filmed any singing vids forever, I mostly just write fanfic as my main hobby at the moment haha, I have 3 jobs so it's kinda hard to find time for hobbies outside of consuming kpop content!

I thought call me baby was my first era but I literally just realised yesterday that I also became an exo-l in 2016 so monster was my first era with them too! I was like obsessed with exo from the moment i saw them for the first time haha

I love Yixing so so much, I miss his interactions with exo so much all the time, he's the sweetest lil bean! Omg i love that you were able to stick with Junmyeon, he's the best! I pretty much never stick with the same bias that i have when i first discover a group, like i'll be bias wrecked and then the person who bias wrecked me will stay as my bias for good, like with seventeen i thought i was Joshua biased when i discovered seventeen and then Jihoon just whisked me away haha. OMG Kyungsoo at the moment needs to just stop, I can't handle it haha.

I got into seventeen after exo and was definitely more seventeen focused for a bit but I always came back to Exo! Jihoon is very introverted which I really relate to so I think that's what made me gravitate towards him, plus he's just really cute and soft whilst simultaneously being a huge grump and i just love those vibes haha. He's also super talented, like his singing voice is gorgeous and hes basically produced like all of seventeen's songs! I get that haha, I find that watching their reality showing going seventeen really helped with getting to know them! My favourite seventeen song is actually a song by just 3 of the members and ailee called Q&A, it's so good, i highly recommend checking it out! I love like so many exo songs but Unfair always seems to stick as my fave, i just love the vibe of it so much!

ahh yes, this fucker (affectionate)

only math smart, (with the exception of learning languages because he's a multilingual baddie) like he never had time to study history, science is dumb, and if you asked him to analyze a poem he'd probably commit violent crimes

chaos enabler his sophomore year, since he has none of the stress of the Ravens, and he's only the vice captain, he causes problems among the upperclassmen and monsters

however, he DOES become friends with Kaitlyn, originally of some sort of pity but he likes her way more than Aaron.

after graduation, he makes sure to keep in touch with all of the foxes, even when they all don't remember to call each other. he often gets a "why the fuck hasn't Minyard called/texted/answered me?"

You and Mitsuba were just walking down the corridor having a conversation when something hit him on the head that sent him flying towards the janitors closet

"M-MITSUBA-KUN?!" You hurried over to the janitors closet, but before you could open it smoke started coming out the gaps of the door

What the hell was going on? You swung the door open and a big surprise was awaiting inside

He turned into a toddler?!? about 2 or 3ish

BUT HE WAS SOOO CUTE

look at him and his chubby cheeks you just wanted to squeeze him—

He was crying, From the tight and dark space of the janitors closet "I-I'm Scared.." Running towards you and hugging your leg

The supernatural apologized bowing its head over and over and told you and hanako that she'll turn back by the end of the day and Hanako finally let it go

"Nene wants to do a tea party with us!" You said pinching her cheeks "Ehhh, i don't know its not my, CUP OF TEA" Both you and Yashiro deadpanned at him while he laughs his ass off on his own joke

You forced him anyways—

She made you and hanako to wear cute little hats

Had loads of fun making play dough cake and drinking chocolate milk 💗

You two would glare at hanako and his tea jokes..

But it was funny either way fufu

Yashiro would give Hanako a playdough donut and him thinking it was really a donut and ended up eating it

She would make all sorts of goodies with play dough it was adorable

Played dressup later on and turned hanako into a girl AHA

But the end of the day was nearing and Yashiro had to go back 😞
