rereading agggtm so I can watch the show without being clueless, and it just dawned on me that Pip is doing all of this for her EPQ (?!?!?) I didn't put half as much effort into my NEA and that actually counted towards a final grade. THIS WAS EXTRA WORK SHE WAS GIVING HERSELF and she still passed her A Levels? I changed my mind. This book is fantasy cause what the fuck holly

watched the first two agggtm episodes with my mum today, and here are some of her observations as someone who never read the books

thought the murder squad were dressed "very cool"

kept dissing pips less than stellar decoy skills during the shop scene

was also not impressed with the bribery muffins. i told her about pipravis meeting in the books and she thought bringing the muffins after ravi knew what pip wanted from him was much more sensible

thought that sal and naomi were sleeping together and that was sals alibi that naomi mentioned to pip

clocked pipravi a mile away. ravi said "thats what we need to find out" and she just said "oooh now theyre gonna team up to solve the case and fall in love"

initially thought it was ravi in the woods before the note got placed under pips pillow during the camping scene?? idk why she thought this

then when the note got revealed she pivoted to cara and said shes sketchy

immediately figured out andie was sleeping with dan, but also thinks secret older guy could be max hastings dad?

I'll post more of these as we watch more episodes, but shes enjoying the show so far which is good cause i've been pestering her to watch it with me for weeks. also this is my first time watching the show as well so i might get things wrong in my posts since im going off of the books and ik the show isnt 100% accurate

just finished ep 1 and this show is really fun!! not an exact adaptation but they've kept the vibes

i quite like emma's portrayal of pip, she's not exactly how i pictured her in the book but im not mad about it

ok ok some thoughts on the aggtm adaptation nobody wants!!

emma myers isn’t how i imagined pip but i could see where they’re going and it’s great, but zain iqbal on the other hand, i need a bittt more convincing. i don’t know anything about the guy, but he looks older than i imagine him to be to be honest. i feel like ravi singh gives off this boyish energy and he.. didn’t really give off that energy? AGAIN i know nothing about him (especially his acting, which is the most important thing), i’ve only seen him in that one picture, and i’m ready to stand corrected. i am obviously excited about it, and absolutely am still (mentally because i am too tired to do it physically) jumping off joy that one of my favorite books will be turned into a show!! anyways, bye. it’s almost midnight here <3

Wanted to share the bingo cards i made to watch AGGGTM with my friend and family tomorrow. They're a bit flawed so you can lmk if you can think of any good things to add

You can use these however ofc but i wanted to list some clarifications

Cool outfit is subjective, basically a free spot

"Erm actually", "I'm going to stop talking now" and "I feel ridiculous" while getting ready for party count with variations like just "actually" or "I've been talking for too long"

Exposition of the school system is any dialogue about school that only benefits the audience

Gaming has to happen on screen, not just be mentioned

Haha relatable dad is also subjective (I'm basically thinking like the part in the book where Pip's dad is showing off his dance moves)

Too traumatised for school is when they are very sad and traumatised and probably should take a mental health day but don't

Funeral can happen in a flashback

Good cop, bad cop has to be explicitly acknowledged like "Drop the bad cop bit"

Old music is also subjective

Music suddenly stopping while speculating about the case is basically any record scratch moment while doing detective things (actual record scratch not necessary)

I would love to know if you end up using this also if you have any issues pls be nice I'm literally a minor :)
