After a ton of trial and error as well as a bit of self-taught music theory, I was finally able to work out the chords and get something out :D

I never hear anyone talk about them and there is nothing in their tag (that I can see) so this is a PSA:
Listen to A Great Big Pile of Leaves. They're an amazing band and they need a lot more exposure so they can keep doing what they're doing. Please check them out.

Besides making me want to play a ridiculous amount of stardew valley, agbpol has a talent of making me, what’s the word... happy? It’s madness. (Been binge listening to the fiery works I & II lately, falling in love with music all over again.) These guys are aural medicine, better than any pill or drink or dose of any synthetic anything. (Definitely got me through last year.)

Today’s playlist courtesy of my good friend, Nashville-based manager and publicist Nick Yacovazzi. Enjoy!
So when Ellie asked me to make this playlist, I was completely at a loss of what to put on it. “Should I go the fancy tastemaker route and seem like a music snob?” I asked myself, but then I realized what makes the playlists she and others make special, is that they are a peek into the moods, minds and attitudes of their authors. So MELTT Fans, and the people who saw this tweeted out because it had one of their favorite bands attached to it, these are the artists that inspire me, some of which I work with, but more importantly, these are the songs that evoke every emotion in my spectrum, and cause me to resonate with those who wrote them, and who they were written for.
“New Design” by Ross Livermore - Starting off with one of my favorite rising Nashville acts, Ross Livermore. Fresh from his 2017 EP, This Is Not Forever, “New Design” explores the frustrations of the modern political world and the unspoken class warfare going on amongst us. “New Design” urges us to break free from society’s downfalls and create ourselves anew. The perfect song for the winds of change.
“Alligator Bop”  A Great Big Pile Of Leaves - One of the best kept secrets in Emo. “Alligator Bop” opens AGBPOL’s album Have You Seen My Prefrontal Cortex? With literally a fuckin’ bop
“Cumberland Gap” by Jason Isbell  - Who says Americana can’t be emo? A client of my team at All Eyes Media (shameless plug). Cumberland Gap is Isbell’s “I don’t need you, or this town” swan song and is absolutely heart-wrenching, yet driven to have you scream your lungs out.
“Virtute The Cat Explains Her Departure” by The Weakerthans - Do you, or have you ever owned a pet? If (most likely) so, this song will fuck you up beyond repair. A track documenting the world through the eyes of a stray Cat. “Virtute…” brings forth the moment the cat met her owner, to the day she left this world, reflecting the emotional intimacy that humans not only have with their pets, but pets with their owners as well.
“Borne On The FM Waves” by Against Me! - A beautiful track from one of Against Me!’s best, yet highly criticized albums. Featuring Tegan Quin from Tegan and Sara. Borne on The FM Waves is a long-lost punk ballad that is a gem amongst the band’s impressive vault.
“Hang It Low” - *Repeat Repeat - FUCK OFF SURF PUNK. No seriously, this band is incredible, and  Bringing that candy-surf pop to Nashville. *Repeat Repeat reminds me between a cross of Wavves and the B-52’s on acid. Check out their album Floral Canyon, you won’t regret it.
“Nothing To Prove” by Frances & The Foundation - No, this band is not Florence, and the machine. Channeling her inner Dolores O’Riordan, singer Samantha Frances & the band pay tribute to 90’s alt-rock with the perfect pop twist.
“Dog” by Lemuria - LIIIIIIIIIIIKE A GODDAMN DOG. I can’t tell you how many time’s I’ve yelled that at the top of my lungs driving in the car. An album juxtaposed between emotionally intimate tracks and hard-riffed bangers. “Dog” stands above all of Lemuria’s tracks for me.
“You Can’t Say Kingston Doesn’t Love You” by Title Fight - Honestly, this track isn’t even the best one on Shed, but the guitar chorus gets me every time. It’s also homage to the time I got my nose busted in during their This Is Hardcore 2012 set. Good times.
“Callin’ It Quits” by  Carverton - I’ve been working with Carverton for quite some time now, and every time I hear this song I can’t help but be proud. An exploration into the sound they’ve set forth, Callin’ It Quits is the pop hit you need for your summer playlists. Check them out at www.carverton.com
“Polly” by Whitney - For the longest time my pinned tweet was “The Soundtrack to my life is just emo music with really great horn production” and it was inspired by this track. A cathartic track of getting over the bad blood of a relationship, Polly is tender, beautiful and will make you soul swell.
Thank you, Nick!!! see y’all tomorrow.
