You Can Run, but You Can’t Hide
Alpha!Natasha Romanoff x Omega!Reader
Natasha always knew the truth, but it wasn’t until a mission where she had you alone that she set her plan in motion. Come the end of the trip she planned to make your hers in the most natural way—claimed and bred. | WC: 1,440
Warnings: NC Themes (Discarding of hormone blockers) | Guns / Death (to Hydra)
Smut: Kotenok (R) | Penetration (P in V — Natasha has a penis) | Public (Over [a balcony railing]) | Choking | Breeding
Natasha watched the way you paced around the room, it'd been a weeks time since you'd arrived in this hotel. A mission that you were assigned on with Natasha, an Avenger first, Alpha second, but nonetheless an Alpha.
Which would be fine, since you were a beta, but with your medicine missing the truth was coming to light. The truth that the redhead was aware of from the second the lie left your lips, you were an omega; hers, waiting for what, she didn’t know, but she was over it.
———
That's why she took your stash of hormone blockers and poured them down the toilet on night one, at first she appreciated your concealment since she was busy. Missions were at an all time high last year when you joined Shield, but with the incoming fall of Hydra, as this mission is designed for such a thing, there was no longer a need for you to hide from predatory alpha's.
Natasha was here now, to make sure they all knew you were hers. Hers to claim, to wreck, to fill with her pups.
Her cock twitched when she got a whiff of your scent, it was dull from the prolonged use of drugs, but it was still clear enough for her to feel comforted by the soft swirls of cinnamon and vanilla. Then it soured as your body began to fight against the natural, debilitating heat that followed a sudden change, such as quitting your meds. Natasha was quick to croon from the other room, pumping out thick pheromones as she slowly entered the room. You looked up at her so pitifully.
"Oh kotenok," she coo'd, "You don't look too good, what's wrong beta? Are you going through a period?"
You whimpered, body trembling as your natural instincts made you throw yourself into her chest. "Alpha please." Natasha wrapped her arms around you, and held you close enough that you could feel her twitch through her pants. You cried and she smirked. “Oh, what a naughty girl, youre no beta after all…”
Judging by her teasing tone, you understood that she knew, and with the way she gripped you, it was even more clear what had happened to your supply. You should be angry, but you were actually relieved. A single alpha like Natasha was rare to find, she was kind, soft when off the clock, and gorgeous in all facets. You’d almost poured the pills down the drain yourself every time you caught her staring at you after an event.
“I’m sorry, but please don’t pull away, I-I need you.”
"Are you gonna tell me why you've been hiding?"
"I-I wasn't ready to give up my life just yet, but fuck, I swear I'm ready now, if it's with you alpha, please."
"We have a mission," she reminded you, her eyes cast outside the window to catch movement of the enemy.
"Please!" You gripped her biceps, body shivering at the chiseled muscles that flexed beneath your fingers, if you didn't need her before, you sure did now. "Shit."
Natasha kept your body from falling with the buckle of your knees, her free hand reached for her long rifle and she took the both of you outside onto the balcony.
"I'll fuck you," she gave in with ease, and you purred softly at the good news. Then you felt her slipping your pants off and softly shrieked, "We're outside Natasha, anyone can see us." She chuckled, "Good observation."
Natasha continued to strip you while her other hand set her gun up on its stand, a bit of a multitasker.
"I can wait," you tried to stop her, but not really as you arched your bare ass into her dicks imprint, your body having a mind of its own, your heat was too strong. "Well, I don't want to detka, I've waited far too long."
Though you’d guessed it, you were shocked at the way she confirmed it without an ounce of shame. “Y-you knew?" Natasha gripped your hip, and brought your dripping entrance to her thick tip. "Of course I did, you can't hide from a super soldier's senses," her nose nuzzled over your neck and you whimpered at the hopeful promise of her claiming you. No longer were you worried about anyone seeing you two, the rest of the world faded away as she slipped herself inside.
Her hips stayed still, allowing your slick walls a moment to catch up with the stretch before she was lifting you off the ground. "Na-Natasha, what are..."
The redhead grunted as she lifted your body onto the railing by her grip around the nape of your neck, and you cried out in both fear and pleasure. It was muffled as she alluringly slid her hand around to squeeze your throat. The tip of her cock had slammed into your cervix just as you stared down at the far away ground, full of tiny silhouettes to remind you it was day time.
The railing shook as Natasha picked up a brutal pace, her face never lost its smirk as she felt your legs wrap around her backside, your heels painfully dug into her covered back. "Alpha, I-I'm not sure about..."
"You wanted to be filled Y/N," she taunted, "I said we had a mission, that means you'll take your pleasure while I do all of the work. Be thankful, not bratty."
"Sorry Alpha," you whimpered, and held on tighter.
"There's the leader," she pointlessly alerted you, who couldn't see anything other than her demise if she slips over the railing. Your walls were clenching so hard, hoping to instigate her knot so that you'd have a more secure base, but it was fruitless. Natasha's stamina was unworldly, and you were completely at her mercy here.
You heard a muffled shot go off over the sound of the railing squeaking beneath your moving body, then the gun was going off again. "Partner is down, two to go."
Natasha picked up her pace, and was rewarded with your filthy moans that were once muffled by your fear, and she knew she wouldn't last much longer. Which was fortunate for the both of you since she already shot another member, and was left with the other who had caught sight of the both of you. He was stuck in place, unable to comprehend that he was going to die by the hands of the Black Widow, who was railing her omega.
Natasha smirked, and finally gave into your cries to be upright. She grunted as your back pressed to her front and your slick, from your first orgasm, ran down her legs. "Last one detka, keep him distracted for me."
Your eyes locked on the others, the mans mouth was agape as he watched you get railed, it distracted him from the red dot that illuminated his forehead. He was clearly unaware of his fate as his eyes lost their life but you were aware of yours as her knot locked in place and her potent stream of cum filled you with a future.
"You are going to look so beautiful full of my pups," Natasha hoarsely groaned against your neck, her teeth barely scraped over your sensitive gland and you mewled, your walls milked her cock even more and her knot subsequently deflated after a minute of your persistence . “Fuck, I need to fill you again kotenok.”
Her strong hands held you by your hips as she carried you back into the hotel room. She laid you flat on the mattress, and pulled out of you, just long enough to flip you over and thrust right back inside of you. It was loud as your arousals rushed out, only to be sloshed all over the place as her cock entered you mid disposal.
Your body then thrashed at the harsh fill up and her canines dug into your scent gland, leaving behind her unbreakable mark as your core fluttered around her as you came again without much work. "Keep squeezing me just like that detka and we'll never be apart again."
"Good," you sighed softly, happiness clear in your eyes, "I was getting tired of being apart to begin with."
Natasha chuckled, and leaned in to chastely kiss your lips, "It was your choice to hide detka, I was waiting."
"I'm glad you grew impatient," you mused, then you nervously pressed a kiss to her neck, wet lips grazed over her scent gland. "Can I claim you too, Alpha?"
"Wait," she whispered, voice raspy as she began to pump in and out of you, "Wait for my knot detka..."

“Marriage”
Pairings: Natasha x reader; Kate x reader (friends)
Genre: fluff
Warnings: little bit of angst if you squint; lots of fluff
Summary: feelings are revealed when you and Natasha are sent on a mission - as a married couple
a/n: literally wrote this at 1am so excuse any spelling mistakes or bad grammar. Love writing fluff fics, kinda want to write more Nat x reader on missions together.
“You’ll be acting as a married couple, spending a few days’ getaway, while you gather intel on this HYDRA cell. Early reports estimate there’s four men and two women. We need them alive,” Steve added, his gaze moving from you to Natasha.
“Relax, Cap. I know they’re the bad guys but I want them alive almost as much as you do.” She glanced over at you. “Ready to be my wife, baby?”
You gulped and nodded, making her smirk. “Uh, y-yes. Baby.”
After the mission briefing, you left hastily. You needed to find Kate and inform her of how deep you were in it this time. The raven-haired archer was your best friend from college and the two of you were delighted to be working together for SHIELD. While Kate grew her skills and reputation alongside Clint, you were training to be a stealth agent, like Natasha. Being on this op was your dream… apart from the tiny problem of your crush on Agent Romanoff.
You’d fangirled over her from afar, daydreaming about what it would be like to date her. You’d also infamously (Kate laughed about it every time it was mentioned) tripped over your own feet at your first meeting with Natasha, falling flat on your ass in front of her. While Kate had burst into peals of laughter, Natasha had reached down and pulled you to your feet with amusement written all over her face.
“...Y/n!” You jolted, Kate’s voice bringing you out of your daydream. “Are you still there?”
“Yeah, I’m here. Where are you? We need to talk, like, now.”
“I’m at our usual rendezvous.”
You met Kate on the roof. Her bow and quiver were lying by her side and she was in her training gear, sitting on the edge of the roof, one leg swinging over the side of the building and the other tucked up, her chin resting upon it.
“Hey.” You sat down beside her and groaned. “I’m in deep shit, Katie.”
“You landed yourself a mission with Natasha? Your crush, I might add. How’s that deep shit?”
“I have to play her wife,” you whimpered. “Her wife! What the hell do I do?”
She chuckled, but stopped when you glared at her. “Yeah. You’re in deep shit. Just make sure you’re focused on the mission when you’re supposed to be and not on her. I remember this one time with me and Clint, and I was all like, Clint, Hawkeye, he’s an Avenger, and I forgot that we were supposed to be tracking bad guys and I almost got an arrow in my…”
You put a hand over her mouth, stopping her ramble. “What do I do, Katie? I’m not going to do well on this mission. I’ve failed everyone.” You put your head in your hands.
“Hey. Hey,” she said gently, putting an arm around you. “You’re y/n. You were hand picked for this. I know you can do this. Now come on, let’s go look at the kit that you’re going to take with you. Focus on the mission and it’ll be over before you know it, ok?”
You headed off the roof, making your way back down through the levels of the compound until you were approaching the labs, which were a shortcut to the kit room. You pulled Kate back as she rounded a corner, noticing Natasha and Bruce in one of the rooms. The expression on Natasha’s face as she gazed at Bruce made your stomach twist. He put a hand on her arm and spoke, making her laugh and shake her head.
Peering round the corner to see a bit more, he glanced past the spy, noticing you watching. Your eyes widened as you made eye contact and you retreated quickly, heading off down the corridor. Kate didn’t say anything but watched you go, knowing you needed some space.
***
There was a tyre swing amongst the trees on the edge of the compound. It was built by Bucky for some of the SHIELD agents’ children. You sat down glumly on the tyre, too dejected to push yourself back and forth.
“Hey.” You looked up to see Natasha standing a few metres away. “Can we talk?” You shrugged and she approached slowly, pausing when she was right next to you. You stared at the ground until she reached out, putting a hand under your chin and tilting your head up to look at her.
“Y/n, talk to me. I know something’s wrong. You couldn’t wait to leave the briefing room this morning.” She hesitated. “Is it me? Did I do something?”
Yes, you thought, you were talking to Bruce and not me. “This mission’s going to be hard for you, isn’t it?” you said quietly.
“Why do you say that?”
“Because I’m not Bruce,” you whispered, your gaze falling to the ground again. “I’m just me.”
She was silent for a moment then crouched down next to you. “Y/n, you’re not just you. Please don’t say that about yourself. I don’t think of you that way. You’re so much more to me than that. And Bruce… he understands it’s not going to be him. He’s okay with it, and so am I. We’re just friends.” She bit her lip. “We’re close because we’ve both seen things… things that not many others have.”
“Natasha, I don’t think I can go on this mission with you.”
“Hey.” She waited until you looked at her. “I selected you for this mission. It wasn’t Steve, or even Fury, who asked for you. It was me. Do you know why?”
You shook your head. “No.”
“Because I know that you care about me. And I know that I can get extremely focused on missions, sometimes to a deteriorating point. And I need someone to bring me back to reality when I’m about to charge into a room full of HYDRA agents. That person, that someone, is you. I know that you’ll keep me grounded.” She leant closer. “It was only ever going to be you coming with me, y/n.”
“Right.”
“I care about you,” she whispered, and your head jerked up, staring at her with a wide, slightly confused gaze. “I care about you a lot.”
A small smile crept onto your face, making her smile. She leant in, her forehead touching yours, and reached out, winding her fingers through yours. It was a rare moment of vulnerability from both of you.
***
“Any updates?”
You looked away from the window to see Natasha sitting up against a bank of pillows, her laptop lying next to her. You narrowed your eyes and looked hard at her. “You’re supposed to be resting… my love.”
She smiled. “I am.”
“That means leaving the reports for later,” you said, going over to the bed and reaching over to grab her laptop. She pulled you down on top of her, making you squeal, and kissed you softly. “And there’s no update. They’re still in the room, talking.”
“This is the most boring op ever,” she groaned.
“Oh I’m sorry, am I not exciting enough?” You pretended to be affronted and moved back towards the window. You heard her get out of bed and pad over to stand behind you, one of the hotel’s dressing gowns wrapped around her. She leant her chin on your shoulder, peering through the binoculars as you raised them to her eye level.
“You’re plenty exciting, baby,” she whispered, making a shiver run down your spine. “I just wish they would be too. Otherwise Fury’s getting a two sentence report and he won’t be pleased about that.”
“Your mind is too much on this mission,” you chided softly. “You need to relax and let me take care of things. After all,” you raised the binoculars to your eyes again, “I’ve got it all under control.”

It's been five years since zombies first started walking the Earth, destroying anything and everything in their wake. Now, in this apocalyptic world, fighting for survival comes as naturally as breathing. Little did you know that helping them would lead you to Bucky - an angry, grumpy, distrusting member of the camp Shield. Bucky has zero interest in having you enter his life. He's been hurt before and lost too many people to risk experiencing that kind of pain again, and he knows that there are secrets you aren't telling the group. SERIES MASTERLIST
Beep. Beep. Beep.
Groaning, you opened your eyes to blindings lights.
“(Y/N)?”
You blinked several times, trying to adjust to consciousness.
“Where am I?” You croaked, your voice hoarse and scratchy.
“You’re in the med bay of the Avengers tower.”
You turned towards the voice, wincing at the pain that shot down your back.
“Wanda?” You moved to get up, but her hand on your arm stopped you.
“Don’t move,” she warned as she brought a straw to your mouth. “Here, drink some water.”
Too tired to protest, you took a few sips, the lukewarm water soothing your dry throat.
After placing the cup back on the side table, Wanda turned her attention back to you.
“You gave us quite a scare,” she whispered, gently brushing a loose strand of hair out of your face.
“What happened?”
“What do you remember?” Wanda asked.
You closed your eyes, trying to recall the events that landed you here.
“All I can remember is fighting off some HYDRA agents and then a bright flash of red,” you admitted.
“You saved me,” Wanda mumbled as she played with a loose thread on your blanket.
Wanda was too busy fighting off three HYDRA soldiers to notice the large canon-like weapon being aimed at her.
“Wanda!” She heard you scream, her eyes widening when you grabbed her by the waist.
Wanda watched in horror as your face morphed into a tortured scream and you dropped to the ground.
“(Y/N)!” She screamed, fear building up in her body. Her terror was quickly replaced with anger when she noticed more HYDRA soldiers advancing towards them.
Mustering up the energy she could, Wanda released an immense shock of red energy, sending the soldiers flying in the air. Once she saw the area was clear, she rushed to your side, not bothering to wipe the tears flooding her eyes.
“(Y/N)?” Wanda gingerly cupped your face, resting your head in her lap.
“(Y/N)!” Natasha came sprinting from behind and immediately fell to her knees.
In your state of delirium, you mistook Natasha for your sister. “Sofya?”
Natasha choked back her tears at the name as Wanda’s eyes remained focused on you.
“Nat,” the young witch whispered. “Her back.”
Natasha moved to get a glimpse of your injuries and cringed when she saw. Your back was completely charred, the weapon burning your flesh and leaving a huge open wound in its wake.
“We have to get her to the quinjet.” Natasha cleared her throat, going back into Avenger-mode. “Wanda, you need to move her with your powers. We can’t risk carrying her ourselves and infecting the wound.”
“Okay,” Wanda sniffled and wiped her eyes. The two women ran to the quinjet as quickly as they could with Wanda floating you into the ship.
“What the hell happened?” Steve yelled when he saw your state.
“There,” Wanda hiccuped as she and Natasha cleared a table to put you on. “There was a blast a-and (Y/N) shielded me.”
Sam started the jet and they were soon on their way out of Russia’s winter.
As you faded in and out of consciousness, Wanda set by your side, Natasha hovering close by.
“I’m so cold,” you stuttered weakly. Wanda’s heart clenched, as she knew how warm you ran.
“Shhh,” she cooed, taking your hand in hers. “Save your energy.”
You watched Wanda carefully as she recounted watching you fall to your knees—your back an entirely different color—the painfully quiet quinjet ride, and waiting for you to come out of surgery. Scanning her face, you could tell the other woman had been crying.
After a brief moment of silence, as you soaked in all the information, Wanda whispered, “Why did you save me?”
You frowned at her question. “Did you expect me to just watch you die?”
At that, Wanda had no answer.
“We’re a team, Wanda.” You took her silence as an opportunity to continue. “I knew I would survive the blast. My body handles heat and energy differently. You on the other hand…”
You trailed off as your throat tightened, not wanting to even voice the possibility of what could have happened.
“Plus, I couldn’t let you die without beating you once in sparring,” you huffed in an attempt to lighten the mood, but Wanda’s face remained solemn.
Another moment of stillness passed between the two of you, Wanda examining your face, the fresh stitches across your forehead reminding her of your actions.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” Her raspy voice broke the silence.
“Tell you what?” You frowned, confused as to what she could be talking about.
“About your sister.”
“Who’s Sofya?” Wanda asked her mentor as the two of them waited for you to come out of surgery.
Natasha let out a large sigh, lifting her head from between her knees as she sat upright. “Sofya was (Y/N)’s sister.”
Wanda didn’t miss the way Natasha referred to the girl in the past tense with a twinge of sadness.
“Was?”
Natasha gulped down the knot in her throat. “She died,” she said, clearing her throat. “The Red Room. They killed her.”
Wanda felt her heart ache as she remembered how she snapped at you for bringing up Pietro. You were only trying to help. Thinking back to all her interactions with her, Wanda winced at the way she treated you. Now, as you fought for your life after saving hers, Wanda feared she would never get to apologize or tell you how she truly felt.
“I know you recently lost your brother,” you mumbled tiredly. “I didn’t want to remind you of him if you weren’t ready to talk about it.”
Wanda was quiet for a moment. She took a deep breath and extended the olive branch.
“Does it ever go away?” She asked. “This pain?”
You lifted your hand and gently placed it on top of Wanda’s, which rested on the edge of the bed.
“No, it doesn’t,” you admitted truthfully, causing Wanda’s eyes to widen. “There will always be an ache of grief within you, reminding you what you’ve lost and what could’ve been.”
You paused with a fond smile, the images of your sister flashing before your mind.
“But that grief is just all the love you carry with you, because what is grief is not love persevering.”
Wanda smiled, tears glossing her eyes.
“I’m sorry, (Y/N),” she said.
“For what?” You frowned as you circled your thumb on the back of her hand.
“For making you think I hated you. For being so cold with you,” she muttered and looked down at your interlaced hands.
“Good thing I’m warm enough to deal with a little chill.” You tried to joke, mustering just enough energy to warm your hand and hers.
“(Y/N), I’m serious,” Wanda scolded, though she couldn’t stop the corners of her mouth from twitching up. “There’s no excuse for the way I treated you. You were always so kind and trying to reach out to me and I just shut you out.
“I was just dealing with a lot of change. First, losing Pietro and joining a team of superheroes in a completely new country. And then just as I was starting to get used to the team, you showed up and it was a lot for me.
“I’m sorry.” She moved her other hand so she was now clasping your hand between hers.
You smiled softly, pulling your hand out of Wanda’s grasp to wipe a stray tear off her cheek. “I’ve already forgiven you.”
Wanda leaned into your touch, an incredulous glint in her eye. “Why?” She croaked.
Your heart broke hearing the despair and disbelief in Wanda’s voice. Forgiveness was so clearly foreign to the witch that the idea of her being worthy of such redemption was one she couldn’t fathom.
“Because I understand being angry with the world and with change. We should not be defined by what has happened to us, and we are all humans who react,” you said. “You are worth of forgiveness, Wanda. And of friendship.”
Wanda searched your eyes, a wave of realization washing over her. “What about love?” She whispered so quietly you barely heard her over the faint buzz of the medical wing.
You furrowed your brows, not understanding her question, as the drugs and injuries clouded your mind. Before you could process what was happening, Wanda was leaning forward and tentatively pressing her lips against yours. You sighed into the contact, Wanda flooding your senses completely. You knew fire and flames but this was a different warmth entirely.
Before either of you could deepen the kiss, a familiar laugh caused the two of you to separate.
“Well, well, well,” Natasha teased as she moved into the room, fast food takeout bags in hand. “What do we have here?”
“Shut up, Romanoff,” you cursed your friend in your mother tongue, rolling your eyes. Wanda quickly sat back in the chair, her cheeks flushed with a rosy tint.
“You two lovebirds finally figure it out?” Natasha plopped down in the other chair across from Wanda.
“Was it that obvious?” Wanda asked sheepishly.
“Please,” Bruce scoffed, interjecting himself into the conversation as he checked your vitals. “You could cut the tension between you two with a knife.”
You went to protest with a snarky quip but before you could, Steve entered the room, a concerned look on his face. “How are you feeling, (Y/N)?”
“Better now,” you answered with a dopey grin, sneaking a glance at Wanda, her face warming as the three other Avengers glanced between the two of you.
Steve’s worry turned into amusement as he realized what was going on. “About time, ladies.”
“Shove it, Steve,” you said without any real bite, your energy starting to drain. “Natasha told me how it took you—,”
“Okay,” Natasha quickly interrupted, saving Steve (and herself) from any embarrassment. “I think it’s time to let (Y/N/N) get some rest.”
“But…” You pouted, turning to Wanda with your best puppy eyes. You wanted to spend more time with the other girl—maybe even talk about what that kiss meant—but your eyes had another idea as they began to droop.
“Rest, malyshka.” Wanda stood up and pressed a kiss to your forehead. “I’ll be here when you wake up.”
You hummed contently and let sleep take you, unafraid of the darkness, knowing you were safe.

A request where tony stark has a shy gf reader (who has a power of water) who got affected by a sex pollen. shy gf reader wants tony to really take her virginity and cure her sex pollen
Pollen
I changed the reader to Tony’s fiancée instead of gf.
1.3k words
Your heart rate was increasing and you didn’t know why. Everything was going according to plan, after all you had successfully found the location of the files you needed to retrieve.
Some hydra scientist had information in their new projects and SHIELD had asked you to investigate. Slipping into their compound was easy enough so you were on edge. Things were just too easy.
You crept through the dark hallway pearling into rooms to make sure no one was following. You clutched the hard drive into your hand leaving a slight mark. Eventually you found the room with their master computer.
You slipped inside and carefully entered the hard drive. After doing some light waiting you took the hard drive and stuffed it into your pocket. Thanks to SHIELD experts you didn’t have to worry about hacking into the system.
You made your way out back to the hallway and tried to slip out. Unfortunately you heard footsteps coming around the corner. You ran into the first room you came across and quickly shut the door.
You let out a sigh of relief as you heard the footsteps fade away. Your hand went to open the door but your body froze. You smelled something simply wonderful and felt your head become fuzzy.
You turned around and saw the most beautiful flower imaginable. It was about a foot high and had a huge blossom on top. Gold pollen seemed to float off of it and you saw some stick to your hands. Each place the pollen touched you felt warmth. Your body started to flush as you saw your skin become rosy with a glow. Your eyes started to feel heavy as you felt your knees start to buckle.
You had to get out.
You quickly dialed Clint as you made your way out of the building to the roof. He saw you stumble around and had a concerned look in his eyes. As soon as you got inside the plane he had you lay down and you quickly fell asleep.
When you woke up you were laying in yours and Tony’s bed. He looked down at you concerned and you suddenly became self conscious over now much sweat was gathering on your back.
“Baby, are you okay?”
You went to nod your head but then something changed inside you. You felt a huge wave of arousal fall down your body to your core. And suddenly you felt super wet. Your nipples hardened as you looked at your fiancé.
“Are you sure because Bruce did some test and it seems you’ve gotten some sex pollen in your system.”
You shrugged as you traced a hand around your breast giving a tight squeeze. You moaned and licked your lips.
Tony looked at you with confusion as you pushed your blanket off and crawled on over to him. You bit your lip as crawled onto his lap. You pushed him onto his back and grinded your hips down into his. Tony let out a moan as he threw his head back. He loved when you got feisty but usually you stopped at just making out. Instead you went to pull your shirt off and your breast fell forward.
Tony saw your nipples through your bralette and he felt himself stir downstairs. He pushed you away briefly, “baby I don’t want you to do anything you’ll regret.”
You quickly silenced him with a kiss, “Baby, I’ve been wanting this for a long time. I think the increased libido has just given me the courage to pursue it before the wedding.”
Tony nodded slowly as you slowly undid your bralette letting it fall to the bed. Tony’s eyes widened with surprise. He smiled big as he looked you up and down.
“Tony, I’ve wanted this for so long, but you know I don’t have any experience. I didn’t want you to be disappointed and leave me.” Your voice quieted at the end as you stopped your hips from moving. Tony just looked up at you and brought your head down to his and gave you a steamy kiss.
He pushed his tongue into your mouth. He made contact with your tongue and threaded his hands into your hair. He pulled away and flipped you over so you were on your back. You let out a soft groan as Tony trailed kisses down your neck.
“Darling, I love you so much. You never have to worry about your experience. I love you.” Between each word he placed a kiss on your body.
He moved to your breasts and sucked lightly on the flesh. He bit lightly making you squeal. He smirked against your skin as he moved to your nipples. He sucked one into his mouth as you moaned. He grazed his teeth over it before swirling his tongue. His other hand met your other nipple as he pinched it in his hand.
Your core started to throb as Tony continued to play with your breast. He switched to sucking your other nipple. His other hand playing with your wet tit.
You squirmed under him as a warm sensation built up in your stomach. Your core pulsed as you threw your head back. Your eyes rolled back as you felt your orgasm come over you. You moaned loudly making Tony chuckle.
“I told you I’d take care of you. Let it all out, enjoy yourself.”
He smirked as he went to remove your pants. In one swift motion your entire body was bare. He looked up at you as you nodded. He smiled as he pressed a kiss to your wet core. He licked up your juices as you squirmed underneath him. Your hands met his hair pulling his face closer to your pussy.
Tony smirked against the lips of your pussy as he swiped his nose against your puffy clit. He thrusted his tongue deep inside your eager hole as his hand made figure eights on your sensitive bud. Another orgasm was fast approaching as Tony continued to lap up your juices.
You screamed out in ecstasy as Tony stood up to remove his boxers. His cock sprang free and his entire tip looked painfully swollen.
Tony stroked himself a few times before reaching for a condom. You went to go sit on your knees and went to grab his length but Tony tutted. He rolled the condom onto his dick as he spit into his hand.
He stroked himself a few more times and motioned for you to lay on your back. You obliged as Tony lined up with your entrance.
“As much as I would like for you to suck me off, that’s as activity for another time.”
You went to nod but your motions freezes when Tony pushed into your swollen pussy. Your toes curled as he took care of you.
He thrusted sloppily as you moaned. Your hands scratched down Tony’s back edging him on either further. He quickened his pace as he leaned forward to kiss you. His tongue swirled around in your mouth as his dick reached the spongy spot inside you.
You went numb under him as felt your third orgasm approach. Tony continued kiss you. He continued to thrust into you as he started to go even deeper into your insides.
You screamed out in ecstasy as you fell limp under Tony. He pulled out of you, his face covered in sweat. He peeled the condom off and you saw he was still rock hard.
You came down from your high as you cocked your head to the side. Tony smirked as he motioned for you to kneel in front of him. He stroked himself as he pressed an open mouth kiss to your tits. He pulled away as he ejaculated on your tits.
You moaned as your hands went up to gather his cum on your fingers. You stuck your fingers in your mouth and moaned contently as you fell back on your back.
“Tony, I love you.”
He just chuckled “I love you too darling. Now get some sleep. Well wait till the pollen wears all the way off.”

I’ll always be your shield | Wanda Maximoff x fem!reader
Wanda Maximoff x fem!reader
Summary: You cared about Wanda and you decided to protect her forever.
Warnings: fight scene, oneshot, really short one, fluff, kinda comfort.
Note: English is not my first language so i’m sorry for all mistakes. I hope you’ll like it tho.
𓏲 ࣪₊♡𓂃
You and Wanda have been friends since she joined the Avengers. From the beginning, you defended the shy girl from Tony or Steve's rude comments. Wanda began to open up and talk about herself only when she was with you. It wasn’t a secret that you cared about her, but you never said how you really felt. You didn't tell her that you saw her as more than just a friend.
When the Avengers were sent on another mission which sounded like easy in and out, it turned out to be a trap. In the abandoned part of the city, you all were attacked by HYDRA agents. Snipers hidden in nearby buildings were trying to shoot you down, while agents around were throwing grenades and using lighter weapons as regular guns. The rest of the team moved forward and hid in one of buildings to avoid getting hurt while you and Wanda stayed behind. You ran as fast as you could, but the agents had a significant advantage in members and weapons.
“Y/N!” Wanda screamed as she stumbled after one of the snipers almost shoot her.
You stopped abruptly to help her, you grabbed her hand and pulled her forward. You kept running, but after the grenade exploded, fragments of the building's walls started falling on you. You pulled Wanda close to you so that she fell on her knees next to you. You covered her with your body so that none of the fragments of the wall would hit her.
You held her hand as she squeezed her eyes shut. Her body was shaking with fear. She moved closer to you hiding in your chest.
“Shhh- it’s okey Wanda, we’ll be okey.” you whispered in pain, your back was already bleeding and covered with purple marks.
When you realized that the pieces of the walls were no longer falling on your back, you grabbed Wanda's wrist and started running further. Tony then appeared, shielding you as you ran to the quinjet. Everyone managed to escape and went to the Avengers tower. As soon as you sat down and leaned your back against the backrest, you felt terrible pain. Holding back tears, you waited until you got there to tend to your wounds.
When you were clumsily trying to look at your wounds in the bathroom, Wanda entered your room. As soon as she saw you standing there without a shirt, she blushed.
“Sorry, I knocked but didn't open the door” she said shyly “I wanted to thank you for covering me with your body and I wanted to see your back.”
“I’ll be okey” you said still trying to take care of your wounds.
“Can I?” She asked, coming over, hoping that she would be able to repay you by helping you bandage the bleeding places.
You just nodded, leaning on the sink. Her nimble fingers applied the gauze and taped it quickly and almost painlessly. She was very focused on not hurting you anymore and instinctively, after finishing, she gently stroked your back and shoulders. Staring at you without a shirt on, her hands on your skin, she quietly muttered something under her breath, quiet question "why?".
“Why did you do that?” she asked louder.
“Because i care about you” you answered as you put on your shirt. “and i’ll always protect you.”
Wanda was looking in your eyes, she was clearly thinking about something, she wanted to say something important.
“What’s on your mind?”
“I like you” she whispered “i like you but more then just like a friend”
You were standing there in complete shock. In that moment you wanted to kiss her and never let go.
“I like you too” you smiled and softly kiss her lips “so much”

Makes You Unsteady
Bucky Barnes x agent!Reader
Warnings: fem!reader; anxious Bucky; soft Bucky; not canon compliant at all
A/N: oh boy, first time posting a Bucky Barnes ff. I've been scribbling these little interactions of Bucky loving a SHIELD agent, and finally decided dammit I'm going to post them.
He paused at the end of the hall. This was stupid. You were asleep by this time. What had he planned on doing, knocking on your door and disturbing you? You probably wouldn’t appreciate that.
Before James could turn back towards the elevator, he heard a click and the motion sensing hall light around the corner came on. Peering past the corner, he was surprised to see the very woman who had been occupying his mind, very much not asleep as he had presumed. You leaned against your doorframe, loitering for a bit.
What were you doing up?
You finally turned, your steps would take you further from him. He knew Darren’s room was a couple of doors down from you.
Your name escaped his lips before he could think properly about the consequences. You turned, squinted at him with tired eyes.
“James?”
“Where you headed?” He strode towards you, as if it was normal to be making rounds in these private quarters.
You rubbed your eyes. As he drew closer he could tell you were growing more alert, though still adorably dazed from a lack of sleep.
“Oh, just over to Darren’s.” Your best friend was always the default destination when you didn’t want to be alone.
“Is something the matter?” He didn’t usually try to pry. But he couldn’t just stand still and let you walk away, couldn’t bear to watch you seek comfort in someone else when he was physically in your reach and ready to give comfort himself. Maybe he was tired out of his mind too, to disregard his usual inhibitions, let alone the chance of you asking him why he was wandering the building barely an hour after getting back from a mission.
“You just got back. You’re early.” Your eyes climbed down his body and up again. “Are you hurt?”
“No, I’m not.” Was it selfish that his heart glowed warmly to see you so concerned over his well-being? “Is something the matter? How come you’re up?” he asked gently again. Locks of bed-swept hair framed you face. His fingers twitched with the instinct to sweep them back and trace down you braid.
“I couldn’t sleep.”
“I could sit with you.” God what was he saying? “If you want, that is.”
“Yeah.”
James held his breath as you replied.
“I’d like that,” you said.
In your room, you both settled on your two seater sofa.
“Has it been like this for a while? Not being able to fall asleep?”
You shrugged. “It’s not so bad. I had a nightmare,” said, almost amused. “I don’t usually dream vividly, but tonight…”
He waited, hoping he wasn’t invading your privacy.
“It was the plane crash. The one my parents were in.” You had not been there for it, but your mind conjured images for you anyway. “As if I had been there too, like I had made my mom give up the window seat and then snuggled up to her side. I…was such a baby with her.” A breathy laugh left you. “Can’t even have the decency to be traumatized by something I actually went through. Like the burning building, or the explosion at the compound.” You didn’t catch his frown.
James swung his legs up, sitting criss-cross to face you. “Can I share something?”
You nodded.
“Sometimes in my sleep I feel like I’m falling and I can’t stop. It creeps me out and I can’t wait to wake up and stop falling.”
“The train,” you whispered.
He nodded. “But worse than that, worse than the nightmares about shooting on command, or the war battles that I don’t remember…I dream about my mom and sisters being killed. My mind convincing me that Hydra found them and shot each of them in the street, or that they drowned, or that they just…stopped breathing in their sleep.” He shook his head. “None of those things happened but I wake up and I want to throw up. I want to go back in time and hunt every Hydra piece of shit and kill them a hundred times over. I want…”
You stopped him with a hand over his metal one. “Don’t. Please.”
He was about to say he wanted to not wake up from his sleep either, and he could tell you had somehow heard those thoughts. He was pathetic, to break in front of you. He had no right to manifest such darkness in front of you. But your pleading eyes left him more breathless than the shame.
“Please?”
Anything, he would do anything you asked.
-*-*-*-*
He woke alone in your bed. Lifting his head towards the door separating your bedroom from the living room, covered with a navy blue patterned cloth. He made out your voice and footsteps on the other side. He really couldn’t be blamed for being able to hear you talking on your cellphone, especially when his name was brought up.
“- totally forgot to text you and then James and I both fell asleep. I’m sorry. Don’t be mad?”
A tinny laugh reached his ears. If he strained a bit he could hear the person on the other end of the phone. Probably Darren.
“I’m not. Just glad you didn’t try to ride it out alone. I was wondering when Barnes would finally make his move.”
You sighed, glancing at the door to your bedroom and stepping away, lowering your voice just short of a whisper. “He wasn’t – there was no move.”
Your friend uttered your name, exasperated. This wasn’t the first time he teased you about being in denial of love knocking on your doorstep.
“Hon, you deserve to love and be loved.”
“It’s not that.” You hesitated.
“Then what?”
You tugged at your hair. “Just…for someone who’s had so much taken from him, and who’s given up so much. I can’t…can’t ask that of him. I can’t be another burden for him.”
Darren was not happy with you. “You’ve gotta be kidding me. First of all, that’s not what you are. Second of all, it’s his choice to want you. Just like it’s yours to want him. Don’t even try to deny it.”
“I’m not denying it,” you said firmly. “But that’s all. Just a want. I…I can’t.”
You heard your name and whipped around to find James standing in the middle of the living room. You swallowed hard, trying to keep your breaths measured.
“Darren, I’ll see you later.” You ended the call.
James felt each pulse of his blood in his veins as he tried processing what he’d heard. He knew his hearing couldn’t be mistaken. The way you looked at him, with a quiet honesty, urged hope to bloom inside his chest.
“James.” You paused, and he swore the world slowed on its axis. “I…”
“You want me?”
You felt helpless under his full attention. His eyes searched you, so vulnerable and earnest. You refused to lie to him.
“Yes.”
Despite what you said to Darren, now, oh, your single word of confirmation sounded so clear and sweet to him.
“You think you’re a burden to me?”
He had quietly closed the distance between you.
You lowered you gaze. “I’m trying not to become that to you.”
He dared to touch his finger to you chin, encouraging you to look at him.
“Let’s agree right now, that you won’t refer to yourself like that again.” His palm curved around your cheek. He wanted to touch every inch of you.
He held you through the night. Not sleeping, and not tired; just relishing in the contact of your skin on his, your warmth bleeding into his.

Oracle!Reader Part 8
Masterlist - Part 1, Part 7, Part 9
Gonna be honest, Y/N is not nice in this chapter. Not like abusive but just wanted to warn ya'll. My au is supposed to be dark and cruel in a way. This is yandere imposter sagau after all.
A storm brewed above the ship as the two hydra heads roared toward the sky. Shielding your face with your arms you tried to gaze up at the towering dark blue bodies. The teal markings on its armor-like heads let you know who exactly was attacking you.
Beisht, Avenger of the Vortex. AKA Osial's wife who not only has a grudge against Liyue but Beidou specifically due to her warning Ningguang about Beisht's attack.
The Crux has probably gone hundreds of times to Inazuma peacefully but the one time you go is when they get attacked by a sea monster.
Just
Your
Fucking
Luck
Beidou's laugh rings out as the ship sways from the currents and the crewmembers start running to their weapons and positions. Not missing a beat Xinyan ends her song as she uses her vision to blast fire at Beisht.
Holy fuck, this wasn't an accident. This was planned. Beidou planned this shit and went through with it even though you, a guest, are on this crazy ship.
Anger swells up in you like a tornado and you ignore the blasts of water that try to hit the jumping form of Beidou. You look around in blind anger for one of the ballistae on the ship.
The thought of shooting either Beidou or Beisht with it was making your blood pump faster. And even if you did hit Beidou, you could always lie that you were aiming at Beisht.
You spot the closest one and start running towards it. Firm hands wrap around your waist and lift you off the ground.
"I apologize for the urgency, but this isn't a safe spot for you."
Kazuha's calm voice in your ear has a soothing effect on your temperament. Forcibly relaxing your body, you let Kazuha carry you down the stairs and he sets you down quickly in a room.
"Stay here while we take care of the sea monster. I don't want you getting hurt, it will not have mercy on you."
You clench your hands as your body trembles in anger. It's Kazuha's worried and sad eyes that make you unclench your fists.
"I know it's scary so please heed my words."
Burying your head into your knees a muffled sound of confirmation slips out. If he wants to think you're scared, let him. Some time alone might even be good for you.
Kazuha leaves and it's then that you can hear the sound of the fighting as the boat rocks. Xiangling and Xinyan's pyro make the air sticky as Kazuha swirling the water makes it humid too.
The crackling of thunder no doubt from Beidou makes you grind your teeth. You were right to be afraid of going with the Crux, she may be popular but she's far too dangerous.
That was definitely Beisht, you think back to her boss fight and remember her attacks. Shooting water, slamming her head and neck, water missiles, and wait wasn't there a third head?-
A loud bang echoes as the ship starts tilting dangerously. Yelping you shield your head from the items that start falling onto you. Another deafening thud and you're being thrown onto the opposite wall.
As more heavier items crash onto you, the wall makes a cracking sound. You couldn't be sure that it was the boat breaking but you couldn't risk it.
If you stayed here, you'll either be crushed to death or drown if that wall breaks. The Alcor keeps rocking left to right as you struggle to stand and leave the room. Closing the door shut, you know you have a few more bruises than you came in with.
The hallway is even worse than the room. Harpoons and other weapons are dangerously close to falling and you rush up the stairs to avoid that disaster.
The main deck is a chaotic mess of crewmembers running back and forth. Xiangling is continually setting wooden spears and stakes aflame before different crewmembers shoot it.
Xinyan, Kazuha, and Beidou all work together to attack Beisht's heads whenever she gets close to attack. Keeping a death grip on the railing you watch the incredible yet infuriating display of power.
Finally remembering that you'll need to defend yourself too, you go back down the stairs. Swiftly you dodge the dropping objects and get to your room. Shoving your hand into your bag and selecting the sickle, you pull it out.
The fear of dying is remedied by the weight of the weapon. Sprinting with more confidence you get back to the main deck. Both sides of the deck have one of her heads low and close ready to shoot the powerful jet of water.
Something about the way she looks is... off. Your mind wanders back to the game cutscenes and automatically compares it to what you see now.
What were once toothless jaws were now filled with layers of sharp teeth. The underbelly of her bodies looked less watery and sleeker. The fins on her back looked firmer and seemed to be in a more organized row.
Beisht shoots the water from her mouths, and you can feel how hot the water is. Xinyan is quick to dodge by climbing the stairs while Kazuha leaps using the wind. Beidou uses her skill to defend herself and rack up energy.
As the scalding water gets closer you hold the sickle to your chest and try to back away. You may be crazy but not stupid enough to try what Beidou is doing.
Surprisingly she stops only inches away from you, lifting her heads she shoots the brunt of the attack toward the sky. Hot droplets rain down on the ship as the attack dies down.
Her heads regroup and her third one appears behind the first two. All her heads roar and they slam onto the deck. Instead of slamming onto you as you expected, she boxes you in the middle of the deck instead.
As two heads serve as the walls, her third head opens its mouth. The sight of the teal muscles with holes in them makes you shudder. Would dying to a sea monster be better or worse than dying accused as an imposter?
Probably better, at least this way you would be remembered fondly and missed. Even if it's only for a short while.
"Glorious creator, it is my greatest honor to have lived long enough to meet you."
What the fuck.
The sounds of everyone else attacking Beisht's other heads are drowned out as you look up at her in shock.
"Although my husband could not meet you, he was a devoted believer. These puny mortals are having you travel in such conditions with such little glory. Do these pirates not know your greatness?!"
Her tone gets louder as she speaks about the Crux. How could she recognize you as the creator? Were you right in guessing that the creatures of Teyvat could recognize you? But she's more on the god side so how could she realize but not Ei?
"Beisht, how have you heard of me?" If sea monsters gods could smile then that's exactly what Beisht was doing.
"Your blood, your grace. They bleached your gold blood. They hurt you with violent intentions. Just as the scriptures said, the offenders will pay for hurting you. Teyvat is calling upon your true worshippers to deliver justice."
This doesn't make complete sense. Beishts own arrogance and hatred for Liyue is having an impact on her words. What does seem to be true is that Teyvat was alerted when you got hurt and is drawing strong creatures that it can connect with to you.
"Then this is something we should be talking with less distractions." Choosing your words carefully, you note how everyone has been listening to your conversation with Beisht.
It's a good thing they can't understand her. Whether she's intentionally not letting them understand her or not isn't important.
You motion Beisht to back away with a flick of your wrist. Beisht is expecting you to act like the creator, you need to play your part. This whole situation is a golden opportunity.
Beisht obeys your silent command and moves her heads off the boat. Beidou is the first to run up to you with how close she is. The battle comes to a silent pause as everyone watches your seemingly unharmed form with relief.
"Are you okay?!" The urge to scoff and give a snarky response is strong but you push it down. With a solemn expression, you speak clearly.
"I've been granted a rare opportunity to talk with Beisht according to the creator's will. I have messages to relay to her but I cannot do so with everyone here."
A rare confused expression crosses Beidou's face at your words as you step away from her and move closer to Beisht. With a tight grip on your sickle, you speak calmly to Beisht.
"Come closer so we can speak somewhere with more privacy. The matter of the divine isn't one to always be so open about."
Beisht seems to pick up on the identity you have in the eyes of the Crux and lowers her main head onto the boat. With confident strides, you walk to her head and climb on.
Fear and worry rise within you as you grip the middle feeler on her head and look at the Crux with a smile.
"I'll be back soon, so don't stop sailing. I'll catch up before you know it."
Your grip on the feeler becomes tight as Beisht's head suddenly drops into the water. A scream instinctively leaves your throat from the sudden gesture.
The last thing you saw before the ocean engulfed you was the various expressions of horror and fear on everyones faces. A small part of you smirks at the guilt that paints Beidou's face.
You shut your mouth and eyes expecting the salty water to drown you. Yet not even a drop of water touches you and the sight of the vast ocean surrounds you.
In awe you watch the air bubble around you supplying you with oxygen and shielding you from the water. Fish swim past as Beisht continues to descend into the depths.
Soon enough the only light around is the teal markings on her body. It reminds you of just how frightening the ocean can be. That at any moment Beisht could think that you're an imposter too and let you drown here...
Tightening your grip on her, you push those thoughts away. They will only hinder you, being nervous will make everything worse. You've made it this far, haven't you?
As a distraction, you think about how exactly this air bubble is being made. Was it Beisht, Teyvat, or did you unconsciously do it? Considering that you can only control elements that you accessed from the Statue of the Sevens then it can't be you.
Beisht was connected to the vortex and water. This air bubble wasn't just reusing your oxygen, it was supplying fresh oxygen. She can't control oxygen so that only leaves Teyvat. Then how could Teyvat protect you from drowning but let the electro from Ei hurt you?
Beisht finally stops and you can vaguely see the outline of her main body due to the glowing teal marks. It keeps reminding you of a certain god masquerading as a bard.
"Your grace, I see the false identity you hold in front of them. Yet I do not hold the same wisdom you hold, please enlighten me on why you hide yourself."
Her vocabulary is naturally arrogant but the tone she says it all in, sounds like she's imploring. It's good, you can utilize this and her natural dislike for humans.
"Coming back from that other world has left me very weak. I have little memories of when I was the creator and this body is weak. They see my unmasked face and assume I'm an imposter. Ei was the main culprit. Just a mask would solve that but my mere presence shows my divinity. Quite a few of my acolytes barely believe my words as an oracle, I would be a fool to publically reveal myself as the creator."
Your words are spoken with a sense of coldness as if you're completely detached from the situation. The water around you seems to raise a few degrees. Taking a risk you speak lowly with a mix of sadness and condescension.
"Humans and Archons are not that different. They cannot accept the truth if it's different than what they expect or desire. Greed and pride have always been the downfall of humans."
"Your grace, they do not deserve your attention or words. The Electro Archon will pay for harming you. They will all pay for hurting you. Thank you for teaching me, I will do your bidding. I will make sure that you'll never need to worry about me acting as foolish as those Archons."
Perfect, it's exactly what you wanted.
"We will take over and subdue Teyvat for harming you. We'll lay the Archons, humans, and anything else that dares defy you at your feet. We will make them atone for their sins. That pirate crew will be the first to pay! Not only have I lost my husband and child to them, they even harmed you!"
What child? They had a kid??? Wait that can come later, Beisht going out of control would harm the reputation you've built up, this has to stop!
"Silence." Your command is swift and your gaze is cold as you stare down Beisht. The quiet that comes makes you smile inwardly. Playing hot and cold towards someone who idolizes you tends to make them more attached. More desperate to keep your wavering love and affection.
"Now, now don't get too worked up. Going off and doing whatever you wish in my name is contradictory to what you said earlier."
"I beg for your forgiveness, your grace." Beisht lowers her heads in shame. A kind smile crosses your face and you reach through the bubble to pet her heads.
"I forgive you Beisht, mistakes are part of the learning process. You've already done so well in recognizing me. Why don't you start by answering my questions first? What happened to your child?"
Beisht closes her eyes and bubbles float up as her heads sigh in content over your touch.
"My child, born from Osial and I, fought for days against that pirate ship. In the end, they killed my child and his murderer gained a vision from it. Celestia truly mocks the defeated from the Archon War."
Sea monster, 'that' pirate ship, and a vision from his death.
Haishan is her child.
No wonder she hates Beidou so much. She basically killed her whole family!
"Haishan has lived in my name and with his death, he returned to me too. I can tell your anger is as great as your sorrow. Take comfort in my words and let your anger fuel your devotion to me."
Loneliness is a manipulator's best friend. Beisht is terribly lonely and will cling to you and your words as her only lifeline. And in your situation, a dog like this will be needed.
"I will your grace, someday I too will return to your loving embrace through death."
Gently she nuzzles your hands with her heads. Tracing the glowing marks that adorn her head you ask in a soothing voice.
"Tell me how you came to find me."
"After the battle with Liyue and the human-adepti I retreated to the depths of the ocean to heal myself. I was dormant when Teyvat called us. It spoke about harm coming to you, at how your gold blood had been bleached."
"Who is 'us'? You also referred to yourself as 'we' earlier too."
"I was not the only one stirred by Teyvat. The water has become more lively with strong elemental currents. I do not doubt that there are even more beings awakening on land. We are all being called to defend you and pay back your liquid gold blood. After so long without you, we are regaining our reason for living."
So if many other elemental monsters are being 'stirred' then that means you could get more allies. Guoba didn't even know he used to be a god until he was told so was it in character or not that he knew you were the creator? You'll need to find more evidence on land but this was leading to a favorable situation.
But Beisht's fixation on your blood being gold was not good. You'll have to address that now. If you wait too long and it reveals outside of your control she'll believe that you were lying to her. God knows what she would do to you then.
"On the topic of my blood, there is something I must clear up. My blood is not gold, it is red."
An eery stillness takes over the atmosphere and you seemingly look down at the 3-headed hydra. The feeling of her scales seems to heat up a little, gritting your teeth you continue.
"I sincerely hope that you are not doubting me. The scriptures never said that my blood itself was gold. The true meaning of that text is that my blood is as precious as gold."
Your blank expression and sharp eyes don't leave her. In one hand you hold your sickle above and electro-coats it with a dangerous crackle.
The looming threat of death washes over you as the sickle crackles with more ferocity. Teyvat heeds your silent wishes and hydro starts rapidly spinning around you. Swiftly you thrust it into the water and it hits Beisht as she thrashes from the pain.
"Forgive me! Forgive me! Forgive this arrogant and foolish follower!"
She roars and begs, your heart is as tight as your grip on her but the sickle still crackles in the water. She's a sea monster and that's the only reason she hasn't died yet.
It's only the sight of toasted pieces of sleek flesh on her that you pull the sickle out of the water and back into the air bubble. The electro fizzles out and Beisht's sad wails echo around you.
She's whimpering and begging with near-silent pleas for forgiveness. Your hand is gentle and warm on the head that she is carrying you on.
"Hush now Beisht, this punishment was something you brought onto yourself. Never doubt my words, my teaching is law. Do you see how futile suspecting and denying me of my divinity is? Crimson or gold, my blood is not what matters most, it is I that exist above you."
Beisht's body seems to curl around the air bubble you stand in as you continue petting and soothing her. Your pleasant humming is a sharp contrast to your rapid heartbeat.
You were either going to die to Beisht or die to your electro. But this turned out better than you originally thought. Even though it hurt you to cause the one powerful ally you have pain, it was necessary. You can never let her entertain the idea of betraying you.
If you must play the role of oracle in front of the others then you must play the role of creator in front of the rest. Y/N was the oracle, the creator, and most importantly a liar.
"The fact that you could sense my presence on that boat intrigues me. How could you sense me while Ei could not? The same goes for the other Archons, surely they would have felt Teyvat's call too."
"The Archons accepted Celestia's power which drew them away from you. They worship you the mortal or human method more often than the way elemental beings do. Changing their style of worship may have connected them to other mortals better but it also muddled their sense of hearing Teyvat"
Her voice is hoarse and low, humbled after her punishment. Your smile was kind and your touch tender, but the sly part of your heart reveled in it.
"Tell me the difference between the two."
"Elemental beings worship by sacrificing parts of themselves to you. Some offer up energy, blood, lifeforce, and others give limbs. Only their own, offering up anyone else's would be sacrilegious. As elemental beings, we will always heal and reform. Celestia has possibly blinded them to the consequences of forsaking our worship to keep them away from you."
Now that was one of the most useful pieces of information you've gained thus far. What would happen if you convinced one of the Archons, not counting Ei, to try this style of worship? Would it enhance your position as the oracle, make you more suspicious, or give them the idea that you might be the creator?
Your thoughtfulness seems to make Beisht anxious, that's understandable seeing as you've proven to be volatile in her eyes. With a nearly patronizing pat on her head, you speak with a happy tone.
"As the creator, I require both elemental and human worship. I have many plans and it includes you Beisht. With each nation I visit and interactions with the Statues of the Seven, I gain more power. I will need you to spread the truth of my arrival to those who Teyvat awoke. Can I trust you with that?"
"It is a privilege to serve you, beloved creator. I will travel through the ocean and fulfill your command." She's clearly enthusiastic and grateful. You have her right where you want her.
"Stay quiet and careful, avoid fighting in general. I have much of the world to explore on my own and see to tell who deserves my forgiveness when everything is revealed. No rushing, I have a long life to live. The other elemental creatures will have the information I need too."
"I understand your grace. At this point and time, your main attention is to investigate the mortal's faith. I will stay unnoticed after this point so that I do not hinder your plan."
You had no plan on revealing your status as the creator. These words were only said to keep Beisht calm and peaceful. Beisht has such a terrible reputation as a villain that if she told the truth, it would only make them all think worse of you.
The little pieces of evidence you have acquired, proving your title might be enough if you were in regular Genshin Impact. But in this world with obsession, death, and violence, you could not claim that so easily. Beisht better be prepared to wait a long time, if not your whole life span which might not be long considering your luck.
"Can I really trust your words Beisht? You think lowly of the mortals for harming me but you have hurt me as well. And it's not when you doubted me, I'm talking about how you hurt me physically."
Your words are like a bucket of cold water. The suspicious gaze she receives from you makes her stutter.
"W-What do you mean your grace? The moment I spotted you, I drew away."
'Pathetic' that's what your expression told her. That's exactly what you thought of her. Her lie specifically.
"Never try to lie to me. This is your only warning. When you rose from the water, you spotted me first but you let yourself be distracted by the sight of Beidou. So caught up in the fight, it wasn't until I got banged up by everything that you finally spotted me and remembered your original task."
The words seem to hit the nail on the head as Beisht lowers herself to you. With an ominous air, you swing the sickle back and forth.
"I will not deny my sins. I lied to you and tried to hide it. Whatever punishment you choose is one I will accept wholeheartedly." Her voice wavers and cracks. She's scared and your smile makes her tremble beneath you.
But it seems to wash away as you rest your upper body on her head closest to you. Ignoring the lingering water droplets you pet her softly.
"It's okay Beisht, I know you were emotional after seeing Beidou. The pain and wrath were hard to fight wasn't it?" The forgiving voice you used was almost like a mask as you traced her scales using the sickle at the same time.
Unnerved, confused, grateful, and scared Beisht sounds like she's near tears.
"Thank y-you, your grace. The mercy you have on your creations is not something we deserve yet you give it anyway."
"I've been hurt so many times Beisht. So you'll prove yourself worthy of my trust right?" The sickle gets stuck at the brightest teal scale on her main head's forehead.
"Take this scale off and give it to me. This will be proof of your devotion to me." You whisper the command disguised as a request.
Without hesitation, Beisht's second head comes closer and you move away just in time to see her tug the scale off with her mouth. It's placed at your feet and it glimmers as you pick it up.
"It's beautiful Beisht. I will accept this as proof of your faith in me. It's time for me to be returned to the ship, do not forget what I have told you."
"Yes, your holiness." The attitude she has is much more subdued than the one she held when you first went down with her. You can now safely trust that in a worst-case scenario, you'll go to the ocean and have her bring you somewhere safe.
Fish and other sea creatures swim past you as Beisht brings you back to the boat. It's a lot further than when you left but that's no problem for the leviathan.
The Alcor is above you and Beisht only raises her head that has you on her above water. The air bubble dissolves and the sun shines down on you. The heat of it is welcomed after staying in the freezing deep for so long.
Yet it's the bright flash of electro that you are greeted with as Beidou jumps toward Beisht.
Thoughts bombard your mind on what to do, what to say. Electro, hydro, claymore, Beidou, Beisht, sickle, and defend!
With adrenaline and fear coursing through your veins, you bring your sickle up as a defense. Electro meets electro as the force of the blow keeps you both locked in place.
Planting your feet steady on Beisht's head, you grit your teeth and push harder against Beidou. In mere seconds your electro overpowers hers and Beidou is struck back to the boat with a pained yell.
The crew, Xinyan, and Xiangling rush to where Beidou was thrown. A sense of deja vu fills you as Kazuha jumps to you and quickly carries you away from Beisht.
After smoothly landing and setting you behind him, Kazuha brandishes his sword in Beisht's direction. The multiple cuts and bruises on his body show just how injured he got in the earlier battle.
A small part of you can't help but feel touched by his protection. Even though it's entirely unnecessary. Why didn't he immediately go check on Beidou? They are very close after all...
Letting that thought fade away, you place your hand on Kazuha's shoulder and smile reassuringly at him. Beidou grunts as she's helped out of the mess of broken wood.
A brief sense of vindication enters you at the sight of the multiple wounds on her, mostly likely from the previous battle. Splinters and new scrapes cover her exposed skin and a particularly big one went through her left palm.
The blood mixes with the wood chips as it drips off her palm. She's grabbing her weapon again and tries to head toward Beisht. Quickly you move to stand in front of her.
"It's alright Beidou, Beisht isn't going to attack anymore." Beidou's eyes widen as she takes in the sight of you. Not a single scrap or drop of blood is on you.
Turning back to Beisht, you motion her to leave with a hand gesture. Obediantly Beisht dives back into the water and disappears.
The waves start to calm and the clouds slowly disperse. You think of the electro you used against Beisht and Beidou. The control you have over it has been growing, despite how dangerous it is, you'll need more power.
Eyes widening in surprise you're spun around by Beidou as she checks your body throughly.
"I was so sure you died, I never meant to hit you with my claymore. I'm beyond grateful that the creator protected you." Your earlier spiteful joy at her injuries melts into guilt at the caring way she was handling you.
Smiling sheepishly you pat her uninjured shoulder.
"If the creator wanted me to die by Beisht then I would accept that wholeheartedly. I'm sorry for worrying you and everyone else."
That small petty part of you wanted to bring up how this all could have been avoided by just not provoking Beisht since they didn't know she was looking for you. But maybe you'll do that when everyone isn't injured.
"I'm not sure whether to applaud you or scold you for doing something so reckless but I think that would be counterproductive at this point."
Beidou shakes her head as she speaks before sighing. Turning back to her crew and friends her voice rises above the murmur of everyone else's conversation.
"Listen up everyone! Beisht has fled this area, but we can always be attacked at a later date. Get inside, rest up, and prepare to arrive at Liyue tomorrow morning!"
Multiple "Yes, Captain!" can be heard directly after her words before they scatter to various activities. You still need to talk to Beidou but she beats you to it.
"Y/N, I need to speak to you about the situation with Beisht. I'll get cleaned up in the medical bay and meet you at the head of the ship."
You nod and head to where she was pointing. Kazuha, Xiangling, and Xinyan follow Beidou to the medical bay. Would they be a part of whatever conversation Beidou wants to have with you?
Swinging your legs as you sit on the edge of the boat, the calm waves draw your gaze. What will Beidou tell you? What lies will you spin to protect yourself?
It's the thumps of footsteps behind you that alert you to Beidou's arrival. With a friendly smile directed at her, you suppress the urge to laugh at the feeling of eyes on you.
Xiangling is most likely in the kitchen as Guoba is nowhere to be seen. Kazuha and Xinyan on the other hand may have been instructed to watch or listen while hiding.
You already knew your stunt may have bad consequences if you aren't careful but you didn't think Beidou would make your job so easy. After all, the more people that hear this conversation, the farther your reputation will spread.
"Hope you didn't wait too long Y/N," Beidou speaks amiably as she strolls over to sit next to you. Her mood is hard to read with the way she smiles but you can still guess accurately.
"I'm all good, I would even say that the break was appreciated with how tired I was."
"Then let's not waste any more time. I'm not here to interrogate you as much as I'm here to explain myself. I put the Crux and you into a life-threatening situation and although everyone else knows exactly what can happen, you did not. I'm sorry about that."
Your feet hit the boat at a slow pace as you think about her words. Now that the anger and chaos of that situation has calmed down, you aren't nearly as annoyed. Not up to talking just yet, you simply nod.
Taking it in stride Beidou starts explaining.
"For the past few days, monsters and leylines have been unusual. The leylines are spawning in new areas with stronger enemies than usual. The behavior of the monsters is strange too. They wander around as if looking for something and the boss monsters have become less violent. It's worrying and on our way to Inazuma, I saw the ocean change. That's why I had Xinyan perform to draw attention."
Seems Beisht was right to guess that other monsters were becoming aware. Hilichurls may respawn but you aren't sure if another monster species that canonically don't regenerate will still be alive. You need to speak with the enemies most likely to recognize you.
"Seeing Beisht listen to you was shocking. I mean she has always been hostile towards people. I don't wanna push you to speak but I would like to know what happened."
"When I was forced onto the main deck to avoid being crushed by the boxes I saw a part of the battle. That's when I realized that I could understand Beisht and the creator ordered me to speak with her privately. Who am I to disobey? The conversation was enlightening, to say the least, and what you just told me has confirmed it."
Your dramatic and cryptic words confuse your listeners. Standing up and balancing on the edge of the boat you continue speaking.
"I have been granted a prophecy! Well more like a revelation of the current and future events. The creatures of Teyvat are exhibiting new behaviors due to the creator's will. Of course that doesn't mean we'll stop defeating them, just don't take it as some grand evil rising."
The nearly childlike joy you speak with only confuses Beidou further. She stands up and tries to hold your shoulder but you twirl away from the edge.
"When was the last time we saw sudden differences in behavior?" Your words are spoken with a carefree smile as you continue dancing away.
"That would be when the traveler arrived on Teyvat and leading to the awakening of acolytes of course!"
You playfully tug the white ahoge that sticks out from Kazuha's hiding spot. He doesn't even seem glum at being found so quickly.
"And why did that all start happening?"
The feeling of eyes watching you faded as Beidou moves closer to the spot you stood with spread arms. Xinyan wasn't here but that's fine, the story you've spun will be spread either way.
"Because the creator's return was starting to approach! It may be worrisome because the creatures may harm people more than they did before but that doesn't mean we can't celebrate that the creator is a step closer to coming back."
In reality, you just wanted more allies. Paraphrasing everything to fit the narrative that you desire was easy in this situation. Very few people could tell if you were lying or not after all. In fact, some would even-
"Agreed. At the same time this all has been happening, the wind had gotten stronger. It's crisp and clear, it has become more active in communication too."
Between your celebratory smile and Kazuha's serene expression, Beidou had nothing to refute with. Instead, a wide grin crosses her face and you stumble as she drags you and Kazuha down to the main deck.
"Then what are we waiting for?" Everyone's eyes are drawn to Beidou as she yells. "The creator is a step closer to coming back to Teyvat and we all witnessed it! So let's celebrate like we mean it!"
It's impressive how nearly all of them already grabbed a glass of beer and raised it at her words. Cheers were heard all around as they raised the glasses and drank cheerfully.
Beidou had already released you and Kazuha to grab her drinks. Your eyes linger on the bloodied bandage wrapped around her palm. It was still bleeding heavily.
A familiar tug on your clothes brings your attention down to Guoba.
"Lala? Lalala!"
You don't fight the caramel-colored panda as he drags you toward the kitchen. It also doesn't let you notice how Kazuha was reaching out to you before being dragged into a conversation.
Xiangling runs around the kitchen with a tired but bright smile as you are pulled in.
"Thank you Guoba for bringing Y/N here! You can have this spicy cornbread as a treat."
She's quick to place a plate of food on the table and return to cooking. The sight of Guoba's food reminds you of your last conversation with Xiangling.
Yeah, you aren't forgetting that for a long time.
"Sorry for calling you here after so much went on, I just had another favor to ask you. I was curious if you can bless food the same way the creator can."
Wasn't she the one who fought a leviathan, is still somewhat injured, and went straight to cooking??
"I've never tried to bless food before but I would be happy to try! What food exactly do you want me to bless?"
Blessing food the same way the creator does sounds a lot like how you would feed the characters in the game. The most likely method would be cooking the food yourself and seeing if it had any effects.
The only other way you could think of blessing food would be by putting some part of your body into it. Which would be disgusting and a pain to do so, so hopefully you just need to cook it.
"I want it for Beidou to heal her hand. It's bleeding pretty heavily and she needs it to use her weapon. I was thinking something easy like sticky honey roast."
"Then just leave it to me Xiangling, do you have the recipe?"
"Yep! Right here." She hands you a slightly charred paper before scurrying over to a pot that's almost boiling over. Would you need to cook this manually or just use a pot like in the game?
The recipe consisted of 3 meat, 2 carrots, and 2 sugar. Nothing else was written on it... How were you supposed to cook with only this?!
Sighing you take the ingrains as the young chef runs around the kitchen. With a lingering sense of unease, you drop the ingredients into the pot and light the fire.
You turn around to grab something to stir it and look back to see it cooked.
Standing there stunned, you look at the perfect sticky honey roast sitting innocently in the pot. Deciding to count your blessings, you serve it on a plate and confidently call it blessed food as you hand it to Beidou.
It works surprisingly well, the bandage is unwrapped to see the skin sewn back together and most likely repaired. Beidou whistles as she examines her hand.
"Gotta hand it to you kid, this is pretty impressive. I usually have to wait for the creater to come and heal me up or wait ages for it to get healed properly."
"This was all Xianglings idea, she deserves the praise. I'll be sure to tell her the good news." You leave as Beidou begins drinking faster with her healed hand.
So you basically never need to cook again, what luck! Would giving someone a fried egg, bring someone back to life? Or would it wake someone up from a concussion or coma? That would all depend on whether characters are dead or just passed out when their HP reaches 0.
Walking into the kitchen, Xiangling is busy putting the final touches on the feast she prepared.
"Got good news for you Xiangling. The blessed food worked and Beidou's hand doesn't even have a scar."
"That's great to hear! I was pretty worried she would have permanent damage or something. She always brushes her wounds off if they aren't life-threatening."
Xiangling pouts at the memory of Beidou's recklessness as you take the initiative to help her. The silence is nice but your thoughts keep wandering back to the human remains.
"Hey Xiangling, I've got a question for you but this might be the wrong time to ask." The look she sends you is one full of curiosity.
"What happened to the families of those you killed and made into food? Did they not get a burial, casket, or at least an urn?"
The expression she wears is a mixture of guilt and disgust.
"Blasphemous people like them do not deserve a funeral. They die and everyone will scorn them for betraying the creator. Most families disown that person or act like they were never part of their family."
She stays kneeling by the cart of food and Guoba trods over to her with his usual carefree attitude. She holds him close and speaks sadly.
"They do deserve punishment for what they did but I want to believe the creator would want them to perish with some good blooming from it. At least by cooking them, that person can help another life grow, and my cooking skill improve."
Each time you ask something like this whether it's Inazuma or Liyue, the situations are always so much worse than you thought. To think what you thought Xiangling did from some sick sense of worship, which isn't entirely false, was mostly born from her signature kindness.
Do you condemn her, comfort her, or encourage her?
"We may never know exactly what the creator thinks, all we can do is keep moving forward. For what it's worth, I don't think you're in the wrong. Your intentions are pure and it's not like your actions can make the situation any worse than it already is."
You bend down and place your hands on her shoulders. She looks up at you and smiles happier at your caring expression.
"Enough about that. Let's go bring these dishes out so we and everyone else can enjoy them. We should be celebrating after all!"
The prep she usually has comes back and she's pushing the cart as you follow behind her. Everyone cheers as Xiangling hands out food and people sit down.
Picking a plate of F/F, you sit on a crate next to Xinyan and Kazuha. Beidou seemed to disappear somewhere with Xiangling again.
The taste and texture are like nothing you've tasted before. Whatever she did to make your favorite food taste even better needed to be shared with you.
"Real happy with that dish aren't ya?" Xinyan comments as you basically inhaled everything but the plate.
"If this dish was meant to be savored then she shouldn't have made it taste this good."
Xinyan laughs at your words before continuing to eat the spicy food she has on her plate. By the overload of spices you can smell, it must be one of Xiangling's creations that Xinyan is so happy to try.
"Now that things have calmed down, I wanted to tell you that I loved your music! It was a bit worrisome with all the fire but I understand that you needed it for the battle."
"Aw, that's real nice to hear! Most of my performances tend to burn down the stage but rock 'n' roll is all about that kind of fire."
"Must have taken you a long time to learn how to use your instrument and vision without burning down everything."
Your comment is casual as you start eating one of the desserts Xiangling brought out. Alcohol is starting to be passed around, you aren't sure if you should drink or not.
"I practiced loads with people as the 'audience'. They all died during the test runs but it's fine since they were already known for being sacrilegious. Burning them to death as a sacrifice was the best thing they could hope for."
The dessert gets stuck in your throat at her words. Coughing a little, you keep your head down to avoid showing your face. Kazuha rubs your back trying to help you.
Was it a trend for pyro-vision women to tell you horrible things with complete ease?! First Xiangling with the cannabilism to Xinyan sacrificing people...
"That was legal, right? Do you still sacrifice people like that?" You struggle not to stutter and Kazuha is still watching you with that same worried expression.
"It is legal in Liyue with the right certifications. Not long ago you had that private concert with the burning of a few treasure hoarders if I remember correctly."
Xinyan nods in agreement at Kazuha's words.
Maybe you should stop being surprised and just expect everyone to have committed crimes like this. What's next? Brainwashing?
Kazuha and Xinyan continue to chat about whatever burning they may or may not have participated in as Xiangling comes over with some alcohol.
"Sorry to interrupt but I was wondering if any of you guys wanted some beer, rum, or grog. Grog is the lightest since it's just water and alcohol. I might just drink that since I just became old enough to drink."
"I'll just have a glass of beer, I have another concert tomorrow and the last thing I want is a hangover." Xinyan is quick to take a swing of the beer.
"I'll pass on the alcohol today, I drank enough yesterday." Kazuha glances at you as he speaks with a slightly nervous tone, no doubt remembering his behavior when he first met you.
"Could I have some rum? I wanna celebrate a lot after completing the first major mission from the creator." Discarding your previous thought of avoiding alcohol, you decided to drink to congratulate yourself for surviving this long.
Definitely not because you wanted a distraction from what you just heard from Xinyan. Nor of the idea that Liyue may be even harder to live in due to their dependency on Rex Lapis. That may or may not have also pushed them to be even more fanatic for the 'creator'.
The rum was sweet but it burned as it traveled down your throat. The strong liquor made your head spin for a split second. You're quickly coming to regret it.
"Hey, Kazuha? Can you watch over me as I drink? This rum is stronger than the drinks I'm used to."
You ask Kazuha with a flushed face as you rest on his shoulder. The lights shine down on you as everyone else is up enjoying themselves. As sweet as always, Kazuha smiles down at you and nods.
"I promise to watch over you. No harm will come to you especially as I don't plan on drinking a single drop."
Feeling reassured you thank him and continue drinking. The party is getting louder and messier with each drink given around.
Xinyan is singing and strumming her guitar as a good chunk of the crew sings along with her. Xiangling was passed out on a crate as her tolerance for it was still low. Beidou was the only one you couldn't see from your spot on Kazuha's shoulder.
"You're the work hard, play hard type huh?"
You sway a little as you jump in surprise at the voice so close to your ear. Kazuha peers around you at Beidou who was standing firmly despite the amount of liquor she already drank.
A feeling nags you that Beidou is still as sharp as ever. Someone who drinks as much as she does must have a high tolerance. The smell of alcohol is strong as she speaks.
"You didn't strike me like the type to drink rum, I would have thought you would go for a beer or just a single glass."
You follow her gaze to the multiple glasses next to you. It seems you drank a lot more than you initially planned.
"Don't look so disappointed Y/N! It's normal to want to relax with a good drink after such a long day. This is a celebration too. Let all your worries melt away."
She speaks with a cheer and your hazy mind makes you smile up at her. Your worries, anxiety, and general distrust of everything are the farthest thing in your mind.
The sharp smile Beidou sends Kazuha as he tightens his grip around your waist goes unnoticed. The weird tension that occurs is gone just as fast as it came and the liquor seems to hit you full force.
"I think I need to sleep, it's really hitting me now." Your head keeps falling onto his shoulder as you struggle to keep your eyes open.
"I'll escort you to your room Y/N-" "And I'll join you two with Xiangling, poor girl couldn't even handle the grog."
Kazuha's face is frozen in a smile as you drunkenly nod at Beidou. Xinyan who is still pretty sober waves at you all and you wave enthusiastically back.
Giggling as the room spins you let your body rest on Kazuha as he helps you down the stairs. Xiangling is thrown over Beidous shoulder as she follows you both down the stairs.
"If I ever let myself drink after this, I wanna drink with you next time Kazuha. Wouldn't it be fun?"
"That does sound nice, I'm sure the wind will have us meet again after this trip." Kazuha's voice can be barely heard through the fog in your mind. A crooked smile is on your face as you nod sleepily.
Fears of the future seem far away at this moment. The fear of coming across a statue of the seven and Zhongli appearing is like a distant memory. The mental image of saying the wrong thing, getting caught with the wrong group, and getting a torturous death is comparable to a dream.
As the urge to close your eyes gets stronger and harder to resist, you instinctively adjust your mask.
Your fragile and most important defense against a repeat of the Ei situation. Terror squeezes your heart as you realize just how dangerous this situation is.
All it takes is for Kazuha to remove the mask during your drunkenness. Whether it be out of curiosity of your face or kindness thinking it would be uncomfortable to sleep with it on.
Nothing you think, worry, fear, or do will matter after that. Despite the dismay, your eyes close as the urge to sleep overtakes you. With your consciousness drifting away and your body in the ronin's mercy.
I was really excited to post this chapter. Everyone's reaction to Xiangling's cooking was super funny. (Fixed it up on mobile so forgive the mistakes.) On the topic of Beisht, I have to say that my original plan was to have it be a oc. Haishan's ancestor from the Archon War. But after everyone was guessing Beisht, I started thinking if it could work. And surprisingly it did! All the main points I had with the oc worked with Beisht. Plus Haishan was still able to stay as a kid cause a visionless Beidou defeating a whole sea monster god just doesn't make a lot of sense unless he wasn't full-grown. And I honestly don't want to create an oc if I don't have to. I don't trust myself that much. Xiangling's cannibalism was supposed to be just a one-time thing. But a certain person mentioned Hu Tao and I realized I forgot to incorporate the rest of the world into it. So that's what inspired me to think deeper on it. I'm quite happy with how it turned out! It confirms Xianglings kindness, and the cruelty of the cult, and can help excuse any future plot holes I may accidentally create. So thank you certain person that I will not name in case that's uncomfy. I also wanted to ask ya'll a question. Do you guys expect certain sagau tropes from this series? Like I incorporated popular stuff like healing foods, mentions of gold blood, etc. But the only thing that I've really made set in stone in my sagau is the cult au and imposter au (without a true imposter masquerading as Y/N). I'm asking since I don't want people expecting something like a character to recognize us (like Fatui or acolytes from Khanriah -kaeya for example). Then get disappointed when I don't ever do that. Not saying I won't have interactions with those characters! I just don't want to lead anyone on. If you read this far then thank you <3. I really appreciate ya'll support. Just seeing a notification that I got a heart, comment, reblog or message makes my day. What are some of your favorite Stevebucky moments in the MCU?
Thanks for the ask!
There are so few (relative to run time) Steve-Bucky moments in the MCU, and all of them are so meaningful to their relationship so it is really hard to choose!
While Bucky’s raspy “Steve?” when Steve came to rescue him would always make my heart clench, the honour goes to the tavern scene for CATFA. The dingy lighting, the smoky backdrop, the low intimate tone of their exchange, the averted gaze and the playful smirks and the fleeting glances…the UST in that scene is just unparalleled 🫢
CATWS is full of iconic moments for the two of them, whether it’s Bucky catching Steve’s shield on the rooftop after Fury’s assassination, or the Greatest Fight of All Time on the causeway, or Bucky’s reveal.
I think my favourite sequence is after Steve says “then finish it, cos I’m with you to the end of the line”…and then Bucky’s expression switching from fierce and determined to so lost and shaken. Then the Helicarrier exploding mutely, the entirety of Hydra’s lies — including their control over Bucky — collapsing in mid-air as Steve falls to the river below…then as both the scene and the music fade, we see the blurry outline of a hand reaching through the water….
Look, I’m just saying even back when I didn’t ship them, this was one of the most cinematically poetic sequences out of the MCU. It’s full of poignant sadness but also hope, and was such a beautiful expression of the genuine tragedy in both Steve’s and Bucky’s lives.
Civil War was sadly deficient in a lot of their content, but that’s not to discount the UST in their Bucharest apartment conversation, or Steve pulling helicopter out of thin air. Or even the sheer joy of seeing them fight in such perfect unison against Tony.
Out of the whole movie, this little split second is such a dynamic defining picture for them 😌 Bucky towering over Steve who immediately spins around to shield Bucky, but Bucky’s got his arm clenched tight around Steve’s shoulder. They need to protect each other at all costs, your honour.
Finally, a special mention to their reunion in Wakanda. Please 🙈

i miss who i used to be
Summary: In the aftermath of Ultron, two Sokovians find themselves contemplating their pasts and their loneliness in the present. When their paths cross again, they might just find comfort in one another's company.
Word Count: 1379 Pairing: Wanda Maximoff x Reader Warnings: grief/loneliness/a lot of reflection on topics of that nature A/N: First part of a short series of sorts? Childhood friends to lovers kinda vibe which maybe could have been a one shot but I wanted to try something different! I have the next part written but after that, let me know what you'd like to see happen between Wanda and R (any interactions/conversations to be had/etc.) and it might influence where this story goes 👀
Part 1 of 'half of my hometown' series masterlist next part ->
»»————- ★ ————-««
If there’s one thing she knows, it’s grief.
Wanda Maximoff was born and raised in a war-torn country; she’s borne witness to a lifetime of destruction, endured suffering, and experienced the slow death of dreams. It seemed like there could be no worse feeling since she’d already experienced it all, but life seemed determined to prove her wrong.
After all that, it took her brother.
If her life were to be likened to the myth of Pandora’s Box, then Pietro Maximoff would have been her hope – the one bright light in her life that she believed could never fade, that would never leave her. From the second she was born, and for 26 years thereafter, Pietro had always been by her side; no matter what happened, they went through it together, reacted together, and emerged alive on the other side together. For all their disagreements, Wanda couldn’t think of a single experience she hadn’t shared with Pietro. Which makes this new feeling – the painful, unenviable knot of loneliness in her heart – all the more terrifying.
Pietro will never share it.
Months continue to pass, with Wanda taking notice of nothing but herself becoming more withdrawn, avoiding Stark's parties and spending more time in her room, where she can let the loneliness consume her. She really did try when the Avengers first brought her to America, but Pietro had always been the social twin, and the conversations only made his absence more pronounced.
Wanda's mood worsens as her loneliness grows, but only she can see the change in herself. The team hardly noticed the difference -- they hadn't even known her before her grief, so how could they see what it had caused in her?
Lingering on the thought, Wanda realises there is no one left who remembers the girl she used to be before the pain and grief and suffering. She used to believe that her childhood friendships would last forever, but those friends are likely gone, she thinks, lost to the rubble just as her family were. Wanda Maximoff is the last person alive who could ever remember her true personality, but now, even she isn’t so sure.
»»————- ★ ————-««
On that same night, in that same building, you suffer from the same line of thought. Brought from Sokovia to America in your early teens, joining SHIELD was your way of doing good in a world you knew firsthand needed help. You hadn’t expected it to be your own teammates and colleagues who had been causing the troubles in the first place; some went under with HYDRA’s exposition, but many remained, passing test after test because, despite the presence of their names on documents approving the bombing of your birth city, they truly had no allegiance to HYDRA. They are SHIELD agents throughout, but that doesn’t make them ‘good’.
Your sense of hope is naive, really. It’s a remnant of the lingering childhood sentiment that you would make the most of your escape to America, to make real change and bring peace to the friends you left behind. By now, you’ve seen the worst of SHIELD, endured mockery for your opinions, watched the organisation fall and then rise again only somewhat cleansed to assist the Avengers, yet you still work for them. Perhaps it’s fear that keeps you here, perhaps it’s delusion, but either way, you find your workarounds and do your best to progress.
That’s the situation that leads you to now, patrolling the halls of the Avengers Compound at 2am, pondering what you are even working for now that the only evidence left of your country’s capital city is a crater full of rubble.
Loneliness takes centre stage when you work night shifts – an unfortunate coincidence considering loneliness is what caused you to take the time slot in the first place. You don’t want to work with your colleagues, always feeling like you’re on the sidelines of the group, never quite as close to them as they are to each other – now exacerbated by the seed of doubt that any one of them may have seen your country as a necessary sacrifice, an inevitable fatality in a world of war.
It’s easier to work alone, you tell yourself again, but you begin to doubt it.
With no country to return to, no relatives, and no friends at work, you wonder how else you can change yourself before you finally fit in. Maybe then you wouldn’t have to be alone.
»»————- ★ ————-««
Those thoughts are interrupted by whirring machinery, and you suddenly snap to attention and creep towards the Avengers’ gym. An intruder wouldn’t settle down for a quick training session, you imagine, and lower your guard marginally, but still ready yourself for a confrontation – there shouldn’t be anyone around at 2 am.
You walk in, only to stall immediately when you see a familiar brunette on the treadmill. She’s not one of the Avengers you’ve met before, nor one of the ones you’ve only seen on TV despite living in the same building – she’s new then, you conclude, or an intruder, but that doesn’t explain why you feel like you’ve seen her face before.
She looks up and her eyes widen when she sees you, before she shuts the treadmill off and quickly ducks her head. You don’t know what to say.
“I’m sorry,” she mutters while she hurriedly gathers her things, “I didn’t think anyone would come in here.”
You know why you recognise her now, the accent giving it all away.
“You’re Sokovian.” The woman clearly wants to leave; her belongings are bundled in her arm and she’s taken several quick paces aiming to pass you to get to the door, but she pauses at your statement and finally raises her head to meet your gaze.
“You’re not.”
“I am,” you reply, somewhat indignantly.
“You don’t sound it.”
Your natural accent had slipped over the years, it was true, a mix of natural evolution and forced acclimatisation on your behalf as an attempt to better fit in had led to the accent you now had. Not good enough to fool your American-born colleagues, but enough, it seems, to fool your fellow Sokovian. You think carefully, the new accent is so well practised that you struggle to separate what comes naturally and which parts you condition yourself to speak with. Eventually though, you speak and let the traces of your Sokovian past shine through.
“It’s been a while,” you tell her, “13 years since I last saw Novi Grad. I thought I’d return one day but… I guess not.”
Her eyes narrow as she tilts her head ever so slightly, the action once again striking you with a sense of familiarity. She seems to shake herself out of it eventually. She tightens her grip on her belongings and finally inches past you, not speaking again until her hand is on the door handle.
“I suppose neither of us can ever return home… your accent is rusty, Y/N, but it’s nice to see someone else survived.”
You jolt suddenly at her use of your name, but she’s gone before you can even turn around and acknowledge that she recognises you too; all that remains of her is the door slamming shut in her wake.
Memories crash back to you of the first half of your life, it's enough that you need to take a seat before allowing yourself to reminisce. It's been thirteen years since you last saw Wanda, but you'd never forgotten the shy brunette you used to run to and from school with; the girl whose apartment you would visit whenever the power went out, to huddle together and make up stories to entertain yourselves.
You wonder briefly why she left the gym so suddenly, rather than staying and catching up, but you realise that even you need a moment to process the fact that one of your friends, a memory from your past, is not only still alive, but also living in the same building as you. It seems likely that you'll see her again, and you hope it's something that she wants too.
You're already planning to give her time, but no matter how the night started, the encounter plants a seed of hope in you that the future might just be a little less lonely.

Pursuit
Pairing: Nomad!Steve x Agent!Reader
Word Count: 1.7K
Summary: Requested by anon - "Don't go where I can't follow, I thought I lost you"/"Honey, you're exhausted, go back to sleep."
Warnings: it's angsty, reader curses, but that's about it.
A/N: I promise I'm working on getting through these requests, life is just insane rn and i've been trying to get into some digital art, so i'm a little busy rn.
Masterpost
The second Steve stepped through the door of their latest safehouse, he knew something was off. The hair on the back of his neck stood at attention and he honed in all of his senses to focus on his surroundings. The others were still on their way, they'd all taken different routes here to at least try not to bring attention here, though it seemed like that didn't matter in the end.
If the house was compromised, they'd need to make a swift exit, hopefully without killing anyone. But that also meant they had one last place they could safely hide from SHIELD.
He steeled himself before taking cautious steps through the front room, back to the kitchen where he would check the dining room before heading up the stairs to clear the bedrooms. But there was something that caught his attention in the dining room.
It looked like someone was seated there at the table in the dark. He clenched his fist, bracing himself for whatever was coming, and turned the light on.
He thought he'd been found, that sitting at the table was an agent, waiting to bring him in. Or maybe even a Hydra agent, ready to kill him. For a second, he thought Nat could've been there - she did like to scare the crap out of him every now and then.
But when that light turned on, it was worse than any of those outcomes. It was a sight that had his heart aching in his chest.
You were seated at the table, staring at him with a gaze of steel, your hands folded over a gun on the table.
He took a breath to steady himself from the shock of seeing you before taking a tentative step into the room. He didn't think he'd ever see you again if he was being honest with himself, not after he left SHIELD.
"You were harder to track down than I thought you'd be," Your voice filled the room and he barely kept himself from flinching. You never spoke to him like this, cold and emotionless, he'd heard it in interrogations that you lead, but it was never aimed at him. "I suppose Nat's to thank for that."
"What are you doing here?" He asked, trying to take a subtle glance around the room to see if you'd bought anyone with you.
"It's just us, you can stop being paranoid."
He glanced back to you, only letting his shoulders drop slightly before he gripped the back of the chair in front of him. "Why are you here?"
You scoffed, rolling your eyes, "Not even a 'hey baby, i missed you' huh?" You leaned back in your chair, folding your arms across your chest, "No, 'sorry I left you behind when we went on the run'?"
He sighed, hanging his head. "I didn't want to leave you there." He muttered.
"Bull shit," You snapped, "You know I would've dropped everything for you."
He nodded at his feet, "I know. I'm sorry."
"Sorry isn't gonna cut it this time, Steve."
He lifted his head to look at you when your voice broke over his name, the tension in his shoulders from the day falling, replaced by a new stress. The way you were looking at him was devastating. Your jaw was clenched as you fought the wobble in your lips. The bags under your eyes were more prominent than he'd ever seen before, and your chest was heaving in uneven breaths as you kept yourself together.
"I know," He started, "I know an apology isn't enough. But I am sorry." Slowly, he rounded the table until he stood three from you, his eyes glancing down to your shaking hands as you gripped your arms. "I wanted to come get you, but I didn't know if your department had been compromised or not. I also didn't want to force you to become federally wanted by the government, and there definitely wasn't enough time to talk about it."
You were silent, watching him out of the corner of your eye as he pulled out the chair next to you, taking a seat and leaning his elbows on his knees.
"The plan was to contact you when things calmed down," He explained, "It's just taken a lot longer than I thought it would."
You let out a wet scoff, your voice tight as you said, "You're Captain America, Steven, on the run. What did you think? That they'd forget about you after a few days?"
The attitude, the sass you gave him warmed his heart a bit - it meant you weren't so mad at him that it wasn't fixable, so he let out a small breath.
"I don't know," He muttered, "With everything going on, I guess I didn't really think about it."
"No shit." Your voice broke and he watched the first tear break through your lashes. He reached up, brushing it away with his knuckles before cupping your face, his heart aching in his chest like it was trying to reach for yours. They'd been off the grid for weeks now - weeks that he hadn't been able to hold you, to kiss you, to just be with you.
"I'm so sorry, baby," He whispered, leaning so far forward that he slid out of his chair, gently landing on his knees in front of you.
"Did you really think I wouldn't come for you?" You asked and he shook head.
"I wasn't sure," he muttered, "I didn't know how tight of a leash they'd have on you because of who you are to me." His brows pulled together in thought and his paranoia began to creep back up the back of his neck. "How did you get out?"
You smirked down at him, not bothering to wipe at the tears he was catching with his knuckles, "Don't you remember who trained me?"
He huffed a laugh at that. Nat had trained you when you first joined SHIELD - before he was even brought out of the ice. And you two were like peas in a pod. But when you started dating Steve, the higher ups moved you to a different department, to avoid internal conflict and possible distraction in the field.
He had no doubt that you didn't leave a trail here - hell, you could've even faked your death to get out from under their thumb. But as he stared up at you, at those tears still falling and the exhaustion swimming in your eyes, he decided that was a talk for tomorrow. Maybe even the day after.
You reached up to grip his wrists tight, your smirk falling, "Don't you ever go where I can't follow," your voice cracked as you struggled to keep it even. Immediately he understood you were talking about how they vanished into Wakanda to drop off Bucky. Even if you had been tailing them, which you probably were by then, you wouldn't have gotten in without T'Challa's approval. "I thought I lost you."
All the breath was forced from his lungs as his chest caved. He pulled your head into the crook of his neck, keeping one hand to the back of your head and the other wrapping around to grip at the back of your kevlar suit. Your arms wound around him, holding him so tight, like you were scared he'd vanish again.
"I won't," He promised the words into the kevlar covering your neck, "I promise."
He held you like that until his knees went numb, pins and needles starting in his calves and feet, and he pulled away from you, standing again. He pulled you from your chair, taking you upstairs to one of the bedrooms with an adjoining bathroom.
He showered with you, your eyes barely able to stay open as he peeled off your kevlar for you and washed the dirt and oils and who knew what else from your hair before soaping up the rest of you. Once he had the both of you clean and dry, he tucked you into the bed, curling around behind you, clinging to you.
He'd been trying so hard not to think about how much he missed you these past few weeks. Focusing so much on keeping those who ran with him hidden and alive that having you here like this, asleep in his hold again, he realized just how much his heart ached for you. How much his soul itself had been crying out for you.
And now you were here, in his arms as he finally let the fear of never seeing you again go. The fear that you'd been corrupted by the system. That you'd been compromised, or worse.
He let it all go, savoring the time he had with you before there was a small knock on the door. The pattern of knocks told him it was Nat.
Trying not to wake you as he got up was a fruitless effort as you turned to face his retreating form and you sat up.
"Steve?" He turned back to you, "Where are you going?"
Your voice was so small, so tired but so nervous as you asked, the question hitting him in the chest. He walked back to you, cupping your cheeks and placing a kiss on the top of your head.
"I'm just going to talk to Nat, I'll be right back," He gave you a small smile, "I promise."
"I want to see her," You tried to get free of his hold to get out of bed but he stopped you.
"You're exhausted honey," He said, softly pushing you to lie back down, "Go back to sleep. She'll be here in the morning, I'll make sure of it."
"Okay," You sighed, submitting to the fatigue in your body as you easily slipped back to sleep. He pulled the blankets over you, tucking you back in before heading for the door again.
His hand gripped the handle, and he turned back to look at you peacefully sleeping, smiling to himself before preparing to hear what the others had been through on their way here.
Being on the run was going to be rough, and people would be pushed to their limits, but you were with him. And that's all he cared about now.

ignite your bones
After the fall of General Dreykov, and the remnants of the Red Room still at large, Natasha first year at SHIELD is anything but healing. Labeled a traitor and a turncoat, Natasha tries to find her footing in a strange new world.
Whumptober 2024: Day 6 - unhealthy coping mechanisms
Warnings: guns/dissociation/vomiting
Word Count: 2.6k (another long one) (gif not mine)
Summary: Clint leaves Natasha with Maria but trust is not yet won on either side, resulting in some unhealthy coping mechanisms.
As always, comments/likes/reblogs are like crack <3
Maria walks Natasha to therapy, their steps in stride, neither talking and both annoyed.
The second day of their routine had gone just about as well as the first.
With Natasha getting angry in the debrief, unwilling to impart information on Odessa. She stalls the second day as well.
Maria feels frustration at the woman, who promised to give all the information she had in exchange for protection and if warranted, a part in taking down the organisations that brought her up.
Going from debrief to therapy, seemed cruel to Natasha, who was already spent from trying to defend herself in not talking about things that she would prefer only Clint be privy to.
It apparently wasn’t a good enough excuse and she knew it was Maria’s way of lowering her defenses and making her talk.
It had been the threat yesterday and she was following through with it today.
Both women were clearly not budging.
Olivia opens her door to find Natasha’s handcuffs slightly too tight and frowns on both of the women’s faces.
Natasha’s seems more covert, but she has come to know the spy’s tells.
Maria was obvious in her emotions.
“How long?” she asks, not unkindly, looking at her watch.
“Ninety minutes,” Olivia responds, looking up at the time. “Is this time change permanent?”
Maria looks to Natasha. “If she tells us about Odessa, it won’t be.”
Olivia bristles.
Maria can’t quite read the look on her face, but maybe if she were to guess, she’d say it was somewhere between anger and pity.
Maria leaves them, hearing the unmistakable click of handcuffs being removed and wonders if she should stay.
Maria knows she shouldn’t use therapy as a threat, but she felt like she was failing where Clint had succeeded.
The information Natasha had given previously filled in so many gaps in their knowledge, about different FSB projects, even linking them to Hydra and other players in the East.
She didn’t think Natasha even knew her value.
When Clint and Coulson had sent through the information from the new grad, Sharon, she knew Natasha had been in trouble, but she just thought it was low level; nothing life threatening.
She knew now it was.
They now have live feeds of the journey to and from the dungeons. If anyone were to get past the guards, she or Sharon would be alerted and lockdowns issued.
When Coulson and Clint returned they’d be added, and alongside Fury and Thompson, they were the only ones who knew.
It was a lot for someone who was so fresh, but the woman’s truthfulness and fortitude had impressed them, and even Natasha seemed to trust her.
They’d wondered at other protocols, and before Clint had left he’d requested that she’d have a weapon. It was denied, of course, but the option to attend the gun range had held.
Natasha also got to keep the handcuffs, once removed. And though she hadn’t been able to ask Clint before he’d left, she’d also noticed his watch in Natasha’s room, and then on the cameras had noticed Natasha marking time.
Maria sighs.
She doesn’t like being this intimately in charge of someone else.
It wasn’t that she disliked her, she just didn’t trust her.
She needed something to lower her defenses, and Clint had always said that Natasha looked weary after therapy.
The files were sealed of course, of whatever was spoken about, but Olivia was mandated to give over a report on Natasha weekly.
Maria read them with interest.
Clint wouldn’t touch them.
Huffing in annoyance, she leaves the therapist’s office and makes for the cafeteria, realising both she and Natasha have missed lunch.
Clint had said packaged foods were what she preferred, so she picked up two sandwiches and a couple of mandarins.
She eats hers on her way back to her office, then finishes some paperwork before making her way back to the psychiatrist's office.
She waits for Natasha to be released, wondering what her next play will be and just how to make Natasha talk about Odessa, before she has to talk to Fury about it. It’s a puzzle she wants to figure out herself.
The door opens, and Natasha walks out, hands cuffed and face straight.
Maria thinks she should take her back to debrief, but there’s a feeling she can’t place as she looks at the woman.
“Maria,” Olivia asks, “can I talk to you?”
Maria steps into the office, keeping Natasha in eyesight, though sure she won’t go anywhere.
Olivia keeps her voice low.
“Don’t weaponise therapy. It’s not fair to her, it’s not in the nature of what we are trying to do here and should not be used as a threat.”
The disapproval that oozes from the woman’s voice only makes Maria regret her choice minimally.
If it works, she’ll take the woman’s ire, and win.
“It’s not her fault. If you want to know about Odessa, then wait. She will tell you, but it’s not something easy to talk about.”
Maria knows Olivia is just doing her job, but she feels defensive.
She nods, straight faced, and doesn’t respond.
She glances towards Natasha and lets herself out, more determined now to return her to debrief.
Leading the way, she sets the stride long and leads her back to the cells.
Natasha is quiet as she always is.
Maria wonders if she should say something, but annoyance at the situation is overriding.
She almost misses the shake in Natasha’s hands as she uncurls the handcuffs and passes them across.
“We have debrief in two hours,” she tells her, “I’ll be back then.”
Natasha nods.
The door closes over and Maria leaves, returning to her office where she opens Natasha’s cameras.
Surprised to not find her in the small room, Maria turns on the audio and hears vomiting in the bathroom.
Feelings of guilt surprise her.
She realises that she didn’t actually give Natasha any food and wonders if she pushed too hard.
.
Natasha glances at the time
Expecting Maria at any minute, she ignores the hunger that bites and the reoccurring thoughts.
She finds it hard to concentrate and glances at the time again.
Natasha knows they want the details of Odessa.
She just can’t.
She doesn’t trust them with the information.
Not when it intimately affects her.
Dinner arrives but Natasha doesn’t feel hungry.
Maria doesn’t come.
Three hours pass and still no one comes to collect her. It’s past the time Maria said she’d return.
She places herself on the bed, wishing that Clint was back and hating the uncertainty of being here.
Natasha closes her eyes.
If she tells them about Odessa, then they’ll know about the other girls. If they know about the other girls, then likely they’ll go looking. If they go looking before the Red Room subsidiaries are all shut down, the girls will all die.
She knows they’ll fight to the death.
She would have.
She needs more time. She doesn’t trust Maria to hold the intel until other things have cleared.
Maria just wants to know for her own information and because it’s a missing piece of the puzzle.
Natasha swallows bile as memories of her time in Odessa surface.
She remembers stripping in front of Madam.
Shaking her head, she attempts to erase it, feeling nauseous all over again.
Olivia had talked about choices in therapy, letting Natasha just listen.
Natasha knows that she had been irate at Maria’s comment and had lowered expectations.
Olivia asked her about her thoughts on Maria, and Natasha hadn’t been able to answer.
“She doesn’t like me,” Natasha had decided.
The night feels cold, and glancing at the watch, Natasha thinks Maria won’t be coming back.
But she doesn’t want to settle into the bed yet, just in case.
She eyes the handcuffs.
If there was any night for it, it would be this night.
Her defenses feel so low, and she feels so sorry for herself that she grabs them and attaches them to her wrist and the bed.
She pulls tight and lets the images invade her mind.
.
Maria wants to go home.
Yawning, she glances at the time, and realises it’s past the two hours time she had told Natasha.
She opens the program to check on her and when she finds her handcuffed to the end of the bed, she doesn’t know what to make of it.
She seems safe enough.
Deciding to leave it, she packs up the laptop and leaves for her apartment off base.
.
Natasha screams.
Trying desperately to cover it as her surroundings of the glass prison become clear, she swears softly, feeling nauseous.
Images of Odessa plague her and she wants nothing more than to purge them.
Uncuffing herself she stumbles to the bathroom and washes her face.
She can’t shake the nightmare.
She can feel it in her bones.
Natasha finds Clint’s watch, 5am.
She knows the day will be a repeat of the last, and if it’s anything like that she needs more sleep, But the fear of heading into another nightmare gives her pause.
She wishes she had a book or something to do, as she sighs and closes her eyes.
.
Maria stares at the camera.
Natasha screams.
The muted video shows her distress, as she’s pulled from sleep, eyes wide and chest heaving.
She watches as Natasha centers herself, puts herself back into the same position and tries for sleep again.
It seems to take some time.
She fast forwards the video.
Natasha screams.
The handcuffs bite in as she strains against them.
Maria doesn’t understand the handcuffs and she can’t ask Clint, but it feels voyeuristic watching the woman’s distress.
She knows when someone isn’t okay, and Natasha is not okay.
She’s fucked up.
She’s pushed too hard and made a mess of things.
Maria is sure Clint would have told her, would have addressed what to do if he’d noticed any of this, but since he had n’, she has to think the problem was her.
She’s not only increased therapy and put the woman off food, she’s given her unhealthy coping mechanisms and left them in the room with her.
She should have returned and said the debrief wouldn’t go ahead, or let someone tell Natasha on Maria’s behalf.
“Fuck,” she whispers.
She has a brief idea; one which may backfire.
But it’s the only idea she has.
.
Natasha leaves the handcuffs on the bed and glances at the time.
Wrists raw, she breathes intentionally in and out, feeling memories of being handcuffed float over her.
She tries not to let them stay.
Any minute now, she thinks Maria will come for debrief.
She knows she’ll ask about Odessa.
She plans her admittance in her head.
If she can tell her some of the worst things first, maybe, just maybe, they’ll let her go and not ask any more until Clint’s returned.
Natasha rubs her wrists.
She hears the familiar unlocking of the doors and the lights turn on down the hallway.
Natasha stands and waits, watch in her pocket and handcuffs in her hands.
If it’s not Maria, she has a plan, not a great one but at least she can protect herself a little better in this space with hard surfaces and handcuffs.
She waits and hears Maria’s footsteps round the corner.
The glass door opens, and she finds Maria standing in casual clothing.
Natasha doesn’t say anything, her heart beating faster.
“Leave those on the bed, and come with me,” Maria tells her.
It’s the first time Natasha has left the cell without handcuffs and she finds she doesn’t really know what to do with her hands.
She finds herself following Maria into part of the compound she’s never been before, and it feels like a trap.
They head to the left, the doors leading outside and for the first time in months, Natasha breathes fresh air.
The sights and smells and temperature difference so marked that she stops and takes the biggest breath she can.
Maria waits for her, still not talking.
It takes a moment but Natasha moves forward, following her into the unknown.
It’s the sniper range.
“You’ve been cleared,” Maria tells her, and sets them both up with targets and guns.
The process takes time but Natasha revels in the fresh air and quiet of the morning.
“Here.”
The gun lays ready.
“Wind is at 3 degrees.”
Maria takes up her own gun, setting up the sight, and positioning herself for the shot.
Natasha copies her movement.
With the gun in hand, she feels more at ease and the images from the night before begin to disappear.
All that becomes relevant is her breathing and the target in front of her.
She breathes in and out and lines the shot.
Accounting for the wind, she adjusts her angle.
In between breaths, she shoots.
Pausing, she hears Maria do the same.
Looking down her scope, she finds that she’s hit the target, a little to the left but still close enough for a kill shot.
Maria’s shot is almost mirrored.
Natasha is impressed. She’d taken Maria as pencil pusher who had no real world value. She’d assumed she’d been trained by the agency but hadn’t thought her ready for a fight.
“There are 15 shots and we have an hour,” Maria tells her, feeling her gaze.
“We have to be back by then.”
Natasha nods, lining up the next shot, taking her time to get it just right. But Maria is first to hit it.
Natasha suppresses a smile.
This feels like the competition of the Red Room, she thinks to herself.
The hour passes quickly, time only punctuated by the sound of the long range shots.
.
Maria walks Natasha back a different way, wanting to avoid as many people as possible.
The route to the cells feels long, but she thinks Natasha doesn’t mind.
Breakfast is waiting for her when they arrive and Maria waits for Natasha to step through before talking.
“No debrief today. Or therapy,” she announces.
If Natasha is surprised, there’s no change to her facial expression. The general quietness of the woman, except in debrief, is absolute.
She didn’t expect Natasha to talk but sometimes she’d like a response.
She’s sure if she asked for one, like a robot she would give it.
Maria looks her over.
“Can I, uh, can I eat breakfast with you?”
She asks the question without really thinking about it, and it’s only then that surprise forms on Natasha's face. It appears in an instant, then it’s gone in a flash.
Natasha moves to the left, allowing Maria in.
Maria wonders idly if she’s allowing it because she doesn’t feel comfortable saying no.
She steps through the door, allowing it to stay open.
The breakfast tray only holds enough food for Natasha, but she shares anyway, offering the apple and the granola bar.
Maria takes the apple and they sit in a somewhat uncomfortable silence.
Tallying all the things she needs to do for the day, she looks around the room finding nothing.
“Do you want a book?” she asks, wondering how Natasha occupies her time.
She finds that when she’s left with her thoughts the world feels harder. Natasha has had two months of it.
Natasha looks up.
“A book,” Maria repeats. “Do you want one?”
Natasha shrugs and nods.
“Fiction or nonfiction?”
There’s no response. Not that Maria expected one.
“I’ll see what I can find.”
Standing Maria, takes the tray and the rubbish and leaves the rest of the food.
“I’ll see you later,” she says, thinking of her list and leaving Natasha to her own thoughts.

It has been two weeks since the attack on the Capital. Two weeks since the Avengers got their friend back.
Y/n was taken straight to the Raft, for her own protection incase Hydra came for her. None of the team was happy about it especially Bucky who fought against the medical staff, trying to stop the SHIELD agents from taking her.
“It’s for her own safety” Fury explained, he still couldn’t believe she was alive, he didn’t believe the agent who had informed him that she was was on the street and was now working for Hydra.
“Okay well why all the guns being pointed at her?” Tony said with his arms crossed.
“For everyone’s safety”
“You’ve got a collar around her neck, two handcuffs on her wrist and cuffs on her ankles. I don’t think she’s going to get very far, do you?”
“It’s okay Tony-it’s fine I promise” Y/n spoke, Fury had to admit he hated doing this to her but he had no other option.
In them two weeks, they fought tirelessly to get her back to the tower, fought to get her pardoned - it should of been easy as they couldn’t connect her to any crimes committed by Hydra, but the government wanted her locked up as a traitor.
Ross allowed the team including Fury to go and question her at the Raft, on one condition - there be armed guards in the room.
They were led into a huge room with tiny windows, a small table and three chairs. There was armed guards lining against the wall. They had been there for 10 minutes before three locks sounded from the metal door, just as the door came open the guards stance changed, ready to shoot kind of stance.
They saw the man in charge walking in front of someone who they assumed was Y/n, who was then being flanked by three guards on either side. When they got closer the man moved aside, they all sucked in a breath at the sight of their friend handcuffed, a collar around her neck, but the worst part was the bruises littering her face and a busted lip that they could tell were fresh.
Fury reached out to her before a voice stopped him “No touching the traitor”
“She’s not a traitor” Fury snapped back.
“That’s not what her file says” Turning his head to Y/n “Sit and don’t move”
“Don’t talk to her like that” Bucky’s anger started to get the better of him.
“Oh I’m sorry, do you want to have this visit or not?”
“It’s fine. You can leave now” Fury replied.
“Remember no touching her and don’t try and pass her anything or she’ll be shot, enjoy” the man walked off chuckling to himself.
“Are you alright?” Questioned Bucky.
“I’m so sorry for what I did to yo-“
“Hey it’s fine, I’m okay, look. Now answer my question”
“I’m fine”
“What happened? Because they’re fresh bruises Birdie”
“It’s nothing”
“It’s not nothing Y/n! Who did it?” Tony says from next to Steve.
“Nothing I don’t deserve” Shifting more comfortably she sighs “Ask the questions you want to ask and you can leave”.
“You don’t deserve this Y/n!”
“Ask or I’ll get them to take me back”
Fury finally speaks after a few minutes of silence. “Okay, do you remember what happened the day we lost you?”
“I remember we was on a mission in Russia and I remember being shot and then falling and hearing voices, thinking it was you lot I-I saw faces and felt something pinching me and then waking up at Hydra’s base.”
“T-that can’t happen, Y/n we found your body and you was dead. We took you back home…”
“It wasn’t me. Hydra used a woman who could shape shift, they showed me”
“What else do you remember?” Tony asks.
“They tortured me, questioned me about my genes, t-they showed me my funeral. Then they gave me the serum and after a few months they started training me”
“Do-do you remember any missions you went on?”
“No. They always wiped my memory after I came back”
“Has any memories come back?”
“Yes”. Her head bowed and her eyes closed “I was the one that killed all those SHIELD agents”
All of them sighed in defeat. At her confession, she could be tried as a traitor, it didn’t matter if she was brainwashed or not. She had just admitted that she killed over 60 agents.
“I don’t remember any other missions. I’m sorry. I hear that you’re trying to get me freed, don’t. I belong in here”
“No you don’t! None of this is your fault!” Bucky’s voice broke.
Not listening to him, she looked directly at Fury “Lloyd was a member of Hydra, there’s many agents at the FBI that work for them and The Reapers didn’t exist because it was Hydra - the whole thing was a set up to get me. Rumlow told me that there was a deal in place between Hydra and The Facility, but when Logan got me out it pissed them off because they didn’t have me and the deal was off” Sighing, she moves the handcuffs to more of a comfortable position.
“Theres something else you need to know, the base they kept me at is in Romania. There’s children there, they’ve been injecting them with my blood. Innocent children are being killed because of me. I’m so sorry.” Looking at the guards “I’m ready to go now”.
“No no Y/n we’re not done yet” Fury stands and tries to stop her from standing.
“I’m done. Take me back”
“She’s not safe in there Fury!” Tony exclaimed as he paced back and forth in the briefing room.
“We don’t know who did it yet” Fury replied.
“Well it’s obviously the guards, we need to get her out of there” Tony’s voice rose with each word.
Shaking his head at the billionaire, “It’s safer for her in there Tony”
“No it isn’t and you know it!”
“We need to find this base and see if there are any children like Y/n said, couldn’t that help with getting her out?” Wanda ever the voice of reason.
“About that, the main reason I came here is because there is a base in Romania just like she said, you guys need to go there and check it out, I’ve already sent the coordinates to the pilot”
“When?” Steve asks.
“Pilots are ready whenever you are”.
Five hours later they were inside the base, the whole building had paperwork littering the floors, blood smeared on the walls, the horrible stench of death lingered in the air.
They searched the whole building from top to bottom for any signs of life, coming up empty until Bucky and Sam opened a door on the far end of the corridor, inside the darken room they saw seven small children huddled together in the left corner.
“It’s okay, we’re not going to hurt you” Sam says as he put his gun down. The children’s faces all contorted in confusion making Bucky repeat what Sam had said but in Romanian.
“unde este femeia?” A young boy spoke from the front.
“Oms?”
“Y/n”
“Y/n?”
“Da, ea este prietena noastră“
“ea este cu noi, acum ești în siguranță” Bucky and Sam watched as the children took careful steps towards them, Sam spoke through his comms to let the team know that they were coming out with kids.
After getting the kids on the quinjet they both made their way back into the base.
“I found a file called Little Bird, all the crimes Y/n’s ever committed for them is on here” Nat says as she opens up another link, surveillance footage after footage showing Y/n, committing crime and crime, more worse than the previous.
“Download everything to do with Y/n and we’ll show Fury, Buck Sam said something about the kids knowing Y/-Buck?” Sam laughs at Steve’s facial expression when he realises that Bucky’s not in the room with them.
“Left corridor, right at the end”
“She carved her name into the wall just so she wouldn’t forget” Bucky says without looking to see who was behind him. “She also wrote how many days she was here, she probably lost count after day 327” Turning to face his oldest friend with tears rolling down his face. “Steve, day 327 I lit a candle in her room to keep it smelling the way it always did. For 327 days we cried and mourned her whe-when she was here all along, alone and terrified. I should of done more Stevie, I shou-should of known she was still alive”
“Buck it’s not your fault! It’s not our fault either, we all watched her die. We couldn’t of known Buck so stop trying to blame yourself”
“I need to tell you something”
“Anything pal, you know this”
“17 years ago when I was still under Hydra’s control…I was sent on a mission to kill this girl, I get to her location bu-but I couldn’t go through with it. I remember her smile as clear as day, she was with an older man - laughing about who knows what but her smile Stevie” For the first time in over two weeks Steve watches his friend smile at a memory he wishes he could see. “I left and was punished for not completing the mission. It was Y/n, she was the girl. The exact same smile when I first met her-“
“Buck…”
“I never told her. I just couldn’t you know? And the worst part is Steve, if I could go back in time and do it over again, I wouldn’t. For my own selfish needs I wouldn’t stop the pain she would have to go through for six years. I would let her go through all the pain and suffering because I’m selfish!”
“You’re not selfish Bucky! You love her, you always have and you always will. I’m glad you didn’t do it 17 years ago either because I wouldn’t have met her, I wouldn’t have had a great friend, she’s the only person who ever treat me as Steve and not America’s puppet. It’s okay to be selfish sometimes Buck”
“We agree, with Steve I mean” Both men turn to face the team who were standing in the doorway.
“It’s not your fault tin-Bucky, none of this is” Tony corrects himself.
“I’m pretty sure she’d do it all ove-“.
Wanda gets cut off by Fury’s voice through their comms “You need to get back to the Tower now”
“What’s goin-“
“Now!”
They are looked equally confused by Fury’s tone and demand, but complied nonetheless.
After the children were taken away by the medical staff, FRIDAY let them know to go straight into the briefing room - where Fury, Maria, Ross sat waiting.
“What’s going on?” Steve asks, looking at all three people.
“Y/n’s been attacked in the Raft” Fury speaks solemnly.
“W-what? Who by? When?”
“Late last night”
“And you’re only telling us this now?”
“We only found out an hour before I told you to get back!”
“Where is she?” Tony questioned.
“Still there…” Ross speaks up from the end of the table.
“You’ve got to be joking right? She gets attacked and she’s still there?”
“We have to wait for the President to sign the paperwork agreeing to have her moved to a hospital, a lot of armed guards are going to be needed”
“Who attacked her?” Bucky asks.
“We don’t know”
“How bad is it?”
“We don’t know, but bad enough for the prick in charge to let us know about it happening”
Just as Bucky was about to open his mouth an agent came running in “Sir, this is straight from the President” Handing over a piece of paper to Ross, who then squeezes his eyes shut.
“What does it say Ross?”
“He’s not allowing her to be moved”.
Chaos. Chaos is the best way to describe what happened next. Everyone shouting, Tony even picked up a chair and threw it through one of the windows.
“He can’t do this!” Fury shouted.
“He’s the President of the United States Fury! He also believes she’s a traitor. He’s also not allowing her to have any more visitors”
“She’s going to die in there Ross!”
“I know, I know. Now if everyone calmly collects themselves and follow me I have a plan.”
She had managed to find a more comfortable position to finally fall asleep, which wasn’t easy to do on cold concrete flooring. Now matter which way she turned the collar dug in her neck causing her to wince at the pain. The handcuffs weren’t helping either.
Hearing the now familiar locks clicking on her door, she sat up and scooted into the corner.
“You’ve got special visitors” One of the guards said “Get up traitor”
Standing up on shaky legs, she waited for her next instructions, which didn’t come as the guard gripped the cuff link and pulled her roughly. Bare feet digging slightly into the metal grates of the walkway as she tried to keep up with the guards.
“Get in there” His rough voice echoed through the empty corridor, her heart pounded in her chest as this wasn’t the same place she was taken to when Fury and the team had been to see her.
“Whe-“ She gets cut off as she gets pushed into the room.
In the windowless room there was no chairs or table, there was nothing other than 8 men standing there.
“You’ve got two hours boys. Make sure you don’t kill her or the warden will be pissed plus she’s got more special visitors tomorrow” The guard chuckled before he closed the door.
“The most respected agent of SHIELD you was, hell I even looked up to you. And now you’re a murderer and a traitor!” A tall man with dark hair, whose eyes burned with hatred.
“So here’s what we’re going to do, each one of us is going to take a turn beating the shit out of you and your gonna be a good little girl and take it, understand?” The only blonde man spoke.
“Understand?” The first one spoke again.
Nodding her head, she watched them move around each other and waited for the first blow to come.
The punches and kicks just wouldn’t stop, she couldn’t even fight back due to the collar and handcuffs. Despite her whole entire body screaming and throbbing in pain she refused to let one sound slip from her now busted and swollen lips. All she repeated in her head like a mantra was that ‘she deserved this and more’, everyone was right, she was a traitor and no not because she wanted to but because she didn’t end her life before Hydra had a chance to turn her into a monster. She betrayed every single thing she stood for, everything she believed in, she betrayed herself and SHIELD. But most importantly she betrayed The Avengers, her family.
Knowing that they watched her ‘die’ broke her heart, when she watched her funeral, - Rumlow using it to break her - she put a shaky hand to theirs faces on the small grainy tv screen, trying to send them comfort despite where she was and what she was going through. She didn’t mean to hurt them, of course she didn’t want to but it wasn’t something that she had no control over.
If laying on the cold, dingy floor taking punch after punch, kick after kick was to make up for the pain she caused her family to go through, she’ll happily do it until her last breath.
“Times up fellas” The guard came into the room “I gave you an extra 15 minu- you did a right number on her, didn’t you lads” He chuckled at the sight of her.
“Just give me one more minute with her, I just need to say one last thing”
“Sure thing just make it quick”
As the men walked out they spat on her one by one, and when the door closed the last man picked her up by her hair. “That was for all the agents you killed, my brother was one of them! I had to tell our parents that he wasn’t coming home anymore. I promised my ma I would get the person who did this, best 300 bucks I’ve ever spent - oh sweetheart, didn’t you know that the wardens charging people to have their way with you, you’re not big and scary now are you?” He chuckled just before he spat right in her face and dropping her.
The guard comes back in and takes her back to her cell. “Sweet dreams Little Bird” is what he says to her before locking the door.
After the third day, her face was unrecognisable. Her prayers for death weren’t being answered.

I saw a lot of spider!Ellie lately but what about captain america!Abby? (only based on cap movies because fuck everything else)
Abby who was a sick weak child with so many diagnoses she had a book with her medical records
Abby who grew up with a father who was helping people during 2 wars already, and wanting to go and be a nurse on the front lines because she couldn't stand suffering
Abby whose father created a serum to improve his daughter's health and it caught hydra's attention
Abby whose father was killed by nazis just after his serum turned her into 6ft beefcake (we will leave Joel's death for tony stark!Ellie i said what I said)
Abby who instead of going to be a nurse goes over everyone's heads until she is put into army training and eventually sent to fight the war
Abby who proves to be an excellent soldier and a strategist
Abby who drives the plane into the ice to save the world, sacrificing herself
Modern!Cap Abby slowly adjusting to the new world but still having her 1940s manners and incredibly dark sense of humor
Modern!Cap Abby who barks orders on the field and is a shy sweetheart at home
And for the good parts: I feel like the story with reader can go two ways.
Bucky!reader who is her best friend, pining after each other for 100 years (literally)
Bucky!reader who falls from the train and becomes the Winter Soldier, forgetting Abby
"it's hard to find someone with shared life experience" Thank you cap!Abby for confirming your type is "frozen for 70 years, didn't know were on the wrong side, nazi victim"
"(Y/n)?" "Who the hell is (y/n)?"'
"You're my mission!" "Then finish it, because I'm with you till the end of the line"
I swear these stupid movies are so gay and so angsty I remember those lines by heart
And obviously hurt/comfort, Cap!Abby helping Winter Soldier!Reader get memories back so ws!reader can fall in love with cap!abby all over again
MORE PINING
And then they finally break and kiss and the peace is restored and the greatest love story of the century is all over the news
OR
Modern!reader who just can't catch a break and somehow always in Avengers' way when shit hits the fan
"Are you okay ma'am?" "Do you need help ma'am?" "Go back to safety ma'am"
Just cap!abby calling you "ma'am" with her old-fashioned politeness and that serious look because she's working and she is concentrated on her operation
Cap!abby putting her shield in front of you to save you and then carrying you to safety
Cap!abby who starts to lowkey flirt with you but it's so polite you don't notice at first (the classic "we need to stop meeting like this")
cap!Abby who comes to your work and apologises for it because it's literally the only time she had between fighting assholes and bickering with Ellie so she could ask you on a date (she gives you flowers! her dad raised a lady)
cap!Abby who takes you on a date on her harley
she so respectful! so polite! she doesn't kiss you until the end of the second date!
cap!Abby who is very well aware of marvels she could find in the modern sex shops (does she have any shame? no)
cap!abby completely obliterating you and being all shy about it later, a little polite puppy
just fuckin.. abby in that cap costume from the ca:tws that has straps and pockets and the gloves?? don't get me started on the gloves
abby putting the shield on her back
just captain america!abby yk
#abby anderson x reader#abby anderson x you#ellie williams x reader#abby tlou#tlou 2#i needed to get it out of my head im sorry#can you tell i rewatch captain america regularly since winter soldier came out#sorry but cap movies are the gayest thing in mcu#ohhhh but what about cap!abby x black widow!reader....
