I have my own gripes with the devil gene retcon in t8 but i genuinely do like what it says about jin as a character
#like. if it was him. ALWAYS him all along. well it means that all the destruction. all the violence. all the pleasure in all that-#well its smth that jin COULD be. and the more he rejects himself. the more hes like “no thats not me. that cant be me”-#well dj in turns mirrors that. im not you. i cannot be you. i will be all that youre not.#but when jin moves from “thats not me” to “that COULD be me. I wont do all that. but thats still me” well dj reflects that as well#bc dj IS jin after all.#and idk. i just like the thought of jin being more honest with himself and acting just a tiny bit similar to dj#not in an “EEEVIL” way but in the expressions and the morally greyness if you know what i mean#after all. dj is the proof that jin is- after all- his father's son#so yeah. after mulling it over. im quite fine with this retcon. makes jin more interesting than he was#(and similar to his dad which is a bonus. to meee)#tagging later
