Tumblr media
-him being super duper protective of you, but in a way that made you feel safe and comfortable
-he never EVER does anything that could hurt you
-he reassures you all the time when you’re anxious or worried
-he lets you squeeze his hand as hard as you want when you’re nervous
-he supports you when you need it
-but he HATES your longtime friendship with Steve ‘The Hair’ Harrington
-he finds it cute that you have such an amazing bond with the party
-considering you’re Dustin’s sister— he was actually really surprised
-when you met, he was SURE you were his age
-even though you have curls like your bro (let’s assume), you don’t look alike that much
-Dustin being like ‘wHAT. Not hIM anyone but HIm. why don’t you DATE STEVE INSTEAD.’ when he finds out
-even though he’s all bad boy ‘I dont care about the consequences’ at school, he freaking melts and becomes a lil cinnamon bun around you which you pride yourself on cuz you won’t see him going soft for someone like Carol :)
-you’re complete opposites in personality though
-it’s why he calls you angel
-and why he’s so protective
-“Don’t toUCh MY angel!” He would bark at anyone who comes too close
-A real Slytherpuff relationship, who’s who?
-When he first comes to school on his first day at Hawkins high
-He sees you with your friends
-and ksajdbsksn you had about a gazillion things in your arms (like you always do)
(-sometimes your friends jokingly makes fun of you for it-
-and Billy would go in protective mode even if they’re your friends
-“Whadjusay ‘bout Angel?”
-“They’re just kidding, baby”
-He glares at them but makes an effort to show them that he’s a good boyfriend to you always)
-You were making your way to math with your friends when he bumped into you, when you were trying to avoid the figure that was moving way to harshly with Tommy H. and Carol.
-you hadn’t really payed attention to him or seen his face yet
-But you could freaking tell that he would cause some trouble in this town
-and your first instinct was to stay away from him
-and even though it was his fault you now had a gash on your right forearm and dropped more than half of your things on the floor, you apologized. Because that’s what ya do
-But Billy—
-oh, Billy Boy—
-he freaked the heck out
-not only because he hurt you, but because he knew— just knew— that you were going to be someone meaningful to him.
-“I’m so sorry! Let me help you with that!” Billy rushes out, helping you pick up your things. (Tommy being like shutt up Billy)
-“oh, shi—“ you start saying, before a teacher comes and is starting to lead you too the nurse’s, despite your many protests if you saying you were fine and that you’d survive a cut and that you could rince it off in the bathroom
-Billy followed right behind
-apologizing profusely
-but not so loud that others could hear
-more out of habit
-because kjdjsdkbfddx the boy had a reputation to hold up
-and little did he know that later on—after getting to know you— he wouldn’t even care if he cried in front of everyone for you
-because the minute you started telling him about yourself or what your passions are or literally anything related to you
-he’d start falling
-he’d fall in love so darn hard
-that he was amazed that you fell just as hard as he did

that’s what friends do
kim hanbin x female! reader
college! au (non idol) || 7.7k
mostly fluff, quite a bit of swearing, some suggestive themes, pretty much just friends to lovers nonsense because I’m a sucker for that
summary: you’re drunk and locked out of your apartment so what do you do? call your best friend hanbin, who you just happen to be in love with, and stay the night at his place, what could go wrong?
“I’m not drunk.”
“You definitely are.”
You roll your eyes. You’re in your best friend’s apartment, with her partner and some of your other friends. It’s a Friday night, and you wanted to celebrate the end of the week. However, your best friend doesn’t drink, so she’s mostly been watching you and laughing at all the dumb things you say.
“Are you ready to go home?” She asks. “I can drive you. I don’t want you wandering around in the dark.”
“Are you trying to get rid of me?”
“You know I’m going home for the weekend, I don’t want to get there in the middle of the night.” You can’t argue with that. You know she’s been missing her family recently, and you don’t want to take away from her time with them.
“Okay,” you grab your bag, pulling out your phone. “Let’s go.” She smiles and goes to get her stuff.
When she’s ready, she leads you out to her car. You sit in the back, since her S.O. always gets to ride shotgun. Your single ass can’t relate.
It’s a short drive, so you just hang out in the back while the two of them talk. You’re thinking about what to do when you get home. You texted Hanbin earlier, asking if you two could study tomorrow. He hasn’t replied yet, so maybe you’ll bother him. You hate being drunk and alone. When your friend pulls into your driveway, you reach into your bag for your keys.
“It was lovely seeing you again, y/n.”
“Yeah, you too,” you reply. You can’t feel them anywhere. You turn on your phone flashlight to get a better look.
“What’s wrong?” Your friend asks. You shake your head.
“I can’t find my keys.”
“You’re joking,” she says.
“I wish I was.” She reaches out her hand so you give her your bag. She pokes around in there for a little while before coming to the same conclusion.
“You’re so dumb.” She’s not wrong. “Call your roommate, she’ll let you in.”
“She’s at her boyfriend’s tonight...” You’re getting anxious now. You don’t know what to do.
“Oh my god,” your friend hits the steering wheel. “What do we do with you?”
“Can’t she stay with your roommates?” Her partner asks. The two of you shake your heads.
“I don’t trust them to take care of her,” your friend says. “They’re good people, but y/n can be way too flirty when she’s drunk. I don’t want her sleeping with one of them.” That’s a valid point.
“I don’t have any other friends-” you start to say when it hits you. “HANBIN.”
“Who?” Your friend asks.
“You know him!” You unlock your phone so you can call him.
“Is that the guy you’re always studying with?”
“Yes!” You scroll to Hanbin’s contact icon and click it. “I’ve slept at his place before, he won’t mind.”
“Is this a good idea?” Your friend asks. “Having you sleep at a boy’s house while drunk?” You don’t answer her because Hanbin picks up right at that moment.
“y/n,” he says. “What’s up?”
“Okay, this is going to sound weird,” you reply. Your friend laughs. “I’m a little drunk and I got locked out of my apartment and I need somewhere to stay so could I maybe sleep at yours?” You’re slurring your words a little bit, but you’re hoping he won’t notice.
“Of course,” he says right away. You hear a door open. “Where are you? I’ll pick you up.”
“No, it’s okay,” you tell him. “I’m with my friend, she can drop me off.”
“Can I talk to him?” Your friend says from the front seat.
“Hold on, she wants to talk to you,” you say to Hanbin. “She needs to make sure you aren’t gonna murder me.” You can hear him nervously laughing as you give your friend the phone.
You look out the window while she asks him a gazillion and one questions. She sounds concerned when she finds out he has 2 other roommates, both guys. You’re good friends with them too, thankfully. You can’t hear Hanbin, but whatever he says must be convincing. He’s the best person you know. But then again you’re drunk, and maybe a little in love with him.
“And you’ll take her home tomorrow morning?” She asks. You turn your head and try to focus on their conversation.
“He’s not my father,” you say from the backseat. You’re tempted to make a joke about him being your daddy but you hold it in.
“Make sure she calls me tomorrow as well, so I know she’s alive.”
“For god’s sake,” you mutter to yourself.
You’ve known him since you started university, but your friend has only met him once or twice. You and Hanbin are in the same program and the same year, so you have tons of classes together. In first year, you were thrown together for a group project. While working on that, the two of you quickly became friends. You started studying for all your joint classes together, alternating hanging out at each other’s apartments. Your study sessions usually turn into the two of you watching TV or ordering take out and just talking for hours on end. Sometimes Hanbin will share lyrics or songs with you and ask for your opinion. There have been a few times where you’ve been so deep in discussion, you don’t even realize it’s midnight. On those days, you crash at his place.
Your roommate is convinced the two of you are dating, but you constantly reassure her you’re not. Every time he comes over, you lock yourselves in your room, so she probably assumes you’re making out. You wish you were, but you’re happy being his best friend too.
“If y/n gets hurt, I’m going to murder you, I hope you know that.” There goes any chance you had with him anyway. “Okay, I’ll give the phone back to her.”
You grab it right away. “I’m sorry, I know she can be scary.” You say. Hanbin just laughs.
“She cares about you, it’s a good thing.”
“So I’ll see you in like 5 minutes then?” You ask.
“Yeah, are you hungry? Yunhyeong made some food earlier, I think there’s some left.” You smile at that, he’s so sweet. Total boyfriend material.
“That sounds lovely.” You glance at your friend, who’s turning the engine on again. “I’ll be there soon.”
“Okay, bye.”
“Love you,” you reply. “Bye.”
After you hang up, your friend just stares at you in the rearview mirror. “Did you just say love you?”
“Yes,” you say awkwardly. “That’s what friends do.”
“You never tell me you love me.” She puts the car into reverse and pulls out of your driveway.
“I love you.”
“It doesn’t have the same effect now,” she says. “Are you sure he’s not your boyfriend?”
“He’s not.”
“Friends with benefits?” Her partner asks.
“No!”
“He’s cute though,” your friend points out. “Definitely your type.”
“Yeah, I know.” You stare out the window again.
“Wait, do you have a crush on him?” She glances at you in the rearview again.
“I think it’s a little more than a crush,” you say, avoiding eye contact. “I might be in love with him, it’s fine though.”
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
“He’s not interested.”
“How do you know that?” She says right away. “He’s going to take care of you right now, while you’re drunk, what boy would do that if he didn’t have feelings for you?”
“A nice one?”
“Shut up,” she replies, turning right onto his street. “You’re drunk, you’re flirty, go get your man.”
“Should we give her some condoms or something?” You and your friend both laugh at that.
“No sex,” she says. “Not while you’re drunk.”
“Hanbin would never,” you reassure her. “He always asks before touching me.”
“He touches you?” She pulls onto his driveway.
“In a platonic way!” You’re blushing now. You’ve been crushing on him for ages, but talking about it out loud makes it so much more real. You’re almost scared to see Hanbin now. You’ll wind up saying something dumb and ruining your friendship.
“We’re here, so you can go touch him all you want.”
“Stop it!” You take your seatbelt off and open the door. “I hate you.”
“Do you want us to take you inside?”
“I’m sure I can make it to the front door,” you say. “I’m not that drunk.”
“If you say so,” your friend replies. “I’m gonna stay here and watch you go in.” Your roll your eyes, but you’re grateful for her. “Text me when you wake up tomorrow. I told Hanbin too, so you better not forget.”
“I won’t.” You grab your bag. “Thanks.” She smiles.
“You’re welcome,” you close the door, but she rolls down her window. “I love you.”
“Oh my god,” you groan and run towards the house. You’re dying to get away from her so she’ll stop clowning you.
When you get to the front door, it opens right away. Yunhyeong is there, smiling. He must’ve been expecting you.
“Hey,” he says. He notices your friend’s car in the driveway and waves. She waves back before reversing out and leaving.
“Thank god,” you mutter, kicking your shoes off. You almost lose your balance, but he grabs your arm to steady you.
“Hanbin said you’re staying over tonight.”
“Yeah, and I’m drunk,” you tell him. He’s about to say something else but Hanbin comes walking down the hallway. You immediately run over and wrap your arms around his neck.
He’s caught off guard, but he hugs you back. “Hi.” His arms are tight around you.
“I missed you,” you say, before burying your face in his neck. “So much.”
“Are you okay?” He asks, smiling. You nod and look up at him. You’re glad he’s amused.
“You smell really good.”
“You smell like vodka.” That makes you laugh. “You said you’re hungry, right?” You nod.
He untangles himself from you and walks towards the kitchen. You grab his hand without second thought. Since the two of you are usually pretty affectionate, he doesn’t think anything of it. You’re extremely grateful for that right now. You don’t want to act suspicious.
Yunhyeong joins you at the kitchen table while you have some left over french fries from their dinner. Hanbin makes sure you drink some water too, even though you tell him you’re not thirsty. You ask where Chanwoo is. When they say he’s locked in his room gaming, you’re not surprised. You make a mental note to say hi to him in the morning.
They ask about your night, and you explain how you forgot your keys and have nowhere else to stay. When they ask how much you had to drink, you genuinely can’t remember.
“You better go to sleep soon,” Hanbin says. “I don’t want you to be hungover tomorrow.”
“I don’t get hungover,” you tell him, yawning. “I’m not old.” He rolls his eyes at that.
“You can sleep in Hanbin’s room,” Yunhyeong says. “He can sleep on my floor.”
“Why can’t he sleep with me?” You two have never slept in the same bed before, but you don’t see why it would be a problem. Falling asleep in his arms would be amazing, especially since he smells so damn good. And waking up next to him in the morning? That thought alone makes you blush.
“y/n,” Hanbin says, smiling. “What did you just say?”
“I said you should sleep with me.” The two of them burst out laughing as you suddenly realize why. “Wait no, that’s not what I meant.”
“Are you sure?” Hanbin asks, making eye contact with you. You know he’s joking but it makes you flustered.
“Yes,” you mutter under your breath. You’d be lying if you said you hadn’t thought about Hanbin like that. You know he’s got some tattoos hiding under there somewhere. You’ve definitely thought about them before, particularly while imagining yourself underneath him.
“Are you finished?” Yunhyeong breaks your thoughts, pointing to your plate. You nod and he picks it up, heading to the sink.
“Thank you,” you call out after him. You might be drunk, but you’re never impolite.
Hanbin stands up and holds out his hand. “Let’s get you into bed.”
“I bet you’d like to,” you say, trying to give him a seductive look. That’s probably not even grammatically correct, but he laughs and pulls you towards his room.
“You’re ridiculous.” You sit down on his bed as he cleans up his nightstand for you. You glance at your phone quickly, no messages.
“Go take off your makeup,” Hanbin says to you, “you don’t want to look like a raccoon in the morning.”
“Raccoons are cute though,” you point out.
“That’s true.” He heads over to his closet. “But you’ll complain if I don’t make you do it now.”
“Fine,” you groan, getting up and heading to his en-suite.
You grab the micellar water and cotton pads from under the sink and use them to wipe your eye makeup off. The last time you slept over, he gave you your own toothbrush, so you grab that off the bathroom counter and brush your teeth. When you’re done, you walk back into the room, pulling the scrunchie out of your hair.
“Do you want a sweater or a t-shirt?” Hanbin asks, holding out both to you.
“T-shirt, I guess,” you reply, pulling off your own and throwing it on the floor without second thought.
“Whoa.” He rushes to cover his eyes, which makes you smile.
“You’re allowed to look,” you tell him, grabbing the shirt. “I was hoping you would see me shirtless in a totally different context, but this works too.”
“What?” He’s smirking.
“Nothing,” you say. “I probably won’t even remember this in the morning.” Hanbin doesn’t say anything to that.
“Are you still half naked?” He asks a minute or two later, with his eyes still closed. The t-shirt he gave you is a free one from one of your university’s events. He got the biggest size, which you’re grateful for right now. You decide to take your jeans off so you’ll be more comfortable while you sleep.
“Hold on.” You take them off and attempt to fold them, but in your drunken state, it’s kind of difficult. “Okay,” you say, placing them on his desk.
When he opens his eyes, he glances you up and down. You act like you don’t notice, but you’re pretty sure his gaze lingers on your legs for a moment. You haven’t shaved in a couple days, maybe he’s frightened. He clears his throat, snapping you out of your thoughts.
“I’m gonna get you a glass of water,” he says awkwardly, turning around and walking out of the room. You don’t know what to make of that.
While he’s gone, you crawl into bed and grab Hanbin’s phone charger. He’ll have to steal someone else’s if he needs it. He comes back, placing the water and a bottle of Advil on his nightstand for you.
“Do you need anything else?” He asks. You shake your head. “I’m gonna put the garbage bin closer just in case you do feel sick.” He grabs it from under his desk and puts it next to you.
“Thank you,” you say. “Seriously.”
“That’s what friends do.” He smiles at you and you groan.
“I don’t wanna be your friend,” you tell him, yawning. You knew you were tired, but you feel like you’re going to fall asleep any second, now that you’re lying down and comfortable.
“What do you want to be then?” He asks, heading over to his dresser.
“Your girlfriend.” He freezes for a second. “I’m sure you’ve thought about it too.”
“Maybe,” is all he says in return. He grabs the rest of his stuff as your eyes slowly close. “I’ll see you in the morning y/n, sleep tight.”
“Goodnight,” you mumble, rolling over.
You fall asleep soon after that, dreaming of god knows what. But you wake up when you hear a shuffling noise. You sit up and open your eyes. It seems like there’s a figure wandering around in the dark.
“Hanbin,” you say. “What the fuck are you doing?”
“Sorry, I thought you were asleep.” You turn his nightstand lamp on and both of you flinch at the sudden brightness. “Are you okay?”
You nod. “Come here,” you tell him.
“Are you sick?” He’s holding his toothbrush and a notebook. He was probably coming to grab some stuff before heading to Yunhyeong’s room.
“No,” you reply, you’re still half asleep and you’re sure he can tell. “I just want you to come sit for a second.” He puts his things down, so you scoot over a little bit so there’s room for him.
“Do you need something?” You shake your head. “Why are you up then?”
“You woke me up, dumbass.” He blushes at that.
“I’m sorry.” You smile and take his hand.
“It’s okay.” He interlocks his fingers with yours. “Stay with me till I fall asleep again and I’ll accept your apology.”
“Fine.” He glances at the time on your phone. “That might take forever though.”
“Nope,” you tell him. “I have a trick.”
“A trick?”
“Yeah,” you say. “When I’m at home and I can’t sleep, there’s one thing I always think of and then I fall asleep no problem.”
“What is it?”
“You.”
“What?” He looks confused and it’s the cutest thing you’ve ever seen.
“Remember when I said you should sleep with me?”
“How could I forget?” You laugh, and he does too.
“You should.” His eyes go wide. “Not like that, but also like that, I guess...” You lose your train of thought for a second because you’re thinking about him shirtless.
“y/n?” You glance at him.
“Sorry,” you smile. “When I can’t sleep, I think of you, and falling asleep with your arms around me, and it helps.”
“That’s the most adorable thing I’ve ever heard.” He takes your other hand in his.
“But,” you say. “When that doesn’t work, I just think about kissing you.”
“You do?” He asks. He sounds genuinely curious. Surely he’s thought about kissing you too. Otherwise you’re just making a fool of yourself right now. Although it doesn’t really matter, since you won’t remember any of it tomorrow morning.
“I think about kissing you a lot,” you admit.
“Oh really?” You brain suddenly realizes there’s not that much space between the two of you, and it would be really easy to just do it now but you hold back.
“You should kiss me,” you tell him. “To help me sleep, I mean.”
“Drunk you is so entertaining.” He reaches up to brush some hair out of your face, which makes your heart beat a little faster.
“You’re not saying no,” you point out. He moves his hand down, pulling you in by the neck.
“I’m not.”
You blink. He’s looking at you like he does actually want to kiss you, but you might just be imagining it because you’re drunk. But you also really want to kiss him and now seems like a really good opportunity if you would just-
Your thoughts get cut off because suddenly Hanbin’s lips are on yours. He gives you a quick kiss, but you shake your head, wrapping your arms around his neck.
“What?”
“Kiss me properly.”
“You’re ridiculous y/n,” he laughs.
You quickly shut him up by placing your lips on his again. He kisses you deeper this time, taking your comment to heart. You get lost in the kiss, leaning back onto the bed and pulling him down with you. You expect him to stop before this gets out of hand, but he doesn’t. There’s a small part of you that’s scared of what this means for your friendship, but god, it feels so good to finally kiss him that you don’t even care.
When he pulls away, it takes you a few seconds to open your eyes. Looking up at him feels so surreal. You think you might be dreaming. You run your fingers through his hair and it’s as soft as you remember. Maybe not.
“Better now?” Hanbin asks quietly, never taking his eyes off your lips.
“Yeah,” you whisper. He glances into your eyes for a second, before leaning down for another kiss. This one’s softer, more gentle.
“Good,” he says, sitting up. You miss him as soon as he moves away. “Go to sleep.”
“I’ll try, but no promises.” He smirks at that.
“Sorry.” You shake your head.
“Don’t be.”
He smiles and kisses your cheek. “Goodnight y/n.”
“Goodnight,” you say back, closing your eyes and drifting off to sleep again.
The next morning when you wake up, you feel much better. You must’ve slept pretty well. When you grab your phone off the nightstand you almost knock over the glass of water Hanbin left there for you.
Right, Hanbin.
The last thing you remember is him leaving the garbage bin by your bed and saying goodnight. You vaguely remember making some suggestive jokes, but nothing too terrible. You didn’t totally ruin your friendship, as far as you know.
When you check your phone, you see a text from your best friend. Instead of replying, you call her. She’s glad you’re still alive. She asks about Hanbin and whether anything happened overnight. She sounds kind of disappointed when you tell her you just ate and went to sleep. She’s got plans for the day so you can’t talk for long, but she promises to text you later.
You stay in bed for a little while longer, scrolling through your socials. Hanbin knocks on the door about half an hour later. He asks how you’re feeling and tells you to take whatever you want from his closet. You decide to take a shower so he grabs you a towel. He tells you to come join them when you’re done.
Once you’re finished, you quickly pack up your things. Then, you grab your phone and head towards the kitchen. You’re walking down the hall, when you hear Chanwoo say your name.
“I’m so sad I didn’t get to see drunk y/n, she sounds like a lot of fun.”
“She’s very entertaining.” That’s Hanbin’s voice.
“She was flirting with you too,” Yunhyeong says. You creep a little bit closer, staying close to the wall, so they don’t notice you eavesdropping.
“Maybe.” Hanbin pauses for a second. “She said something in my room later on.”
“She was in your room?” Chanwoo asks.
“What did she say?” Yunhyeong asks, ignoring him.
“After r I got her some water and Advil, she said thanks and I was like ‘that’s what friends do,’” you hear someone groan at that. Probably Chanwoo. “She said she doesn’t want to be my friend.”
Your heart starts to beat a little bit faster. You’re praying you didn’t say anything too dumb. And if you did, you hope Hanbin will just write it off as you being drunk.
“She said she wants to be my girlfriend.” You cringe. It’s not terrible, but you’re still embarrassed.
“I knew it,” Yunhyeong says. “You’re soulmates.”
“Shut up,” Hanbin replies. “She was drunk, she probably didn’t even mean it.”
“I think she did.”
“We’ve seen the way y/n looks at you.” You cringe at that too. Have you really been that obvious?
“That’s not it though,” Hanbin says. You wish he would just shut up. You don’t want to know what other dumb shit you said. “I kissed her.”
“You what?” Yunhyeong says exactly what you’re thinking. You and Hanbin finally kissed and you don’t even remember it? You’re never drinking again.
“It wasn’t planned,” Hanbin sounds worried now. “I didn’t mean to, she was just talking about how much she likes me and I couldn’t help myself, and now I’ve ruined our friendship.”
“What did she say about liking you?”
“She said that when she can’t sleep, she thinks about falling asleep in my arms, and if that doesn’t work, she thinks about kissing me.” You roll your eyes. All of that is true, but you don’t know why your drunk self felt the need to share it with him.
“She’s practically in love with you,” Chanwoo says. He’s not wrong. You are in love with Hanbin, maybe he’ll finally realize now.
“What are you going to do?” Yunhyeong asks.
“I don’t know.” Hanbin sighs. “She doesn’t even remember it happened, when I said hi to her this morning, she acted like everything was normal.” You don’t know if you’re grateful for that. Maybe if you did remember, you could actually address it and somehow get him to date you already.
“Maybe that’s what she wants,” Chanwoo says.
“But is it what you want?” Yunhyeong asks.
There’s a moment of silence before Hanbin responds.
“No.”
“I knew it.” Chanwoo sounds so smug.
“What do I do?”
“How do you feel about y/n?” Yunhyeong asks. This is what you’ve been waiting for. You take a small step closer to the kitchen.
“What kind of question is that?” Hanbin responds. “When she said she wanted to fall asleep with me, I really wanted to get into bed next to her.” That makes you blush.
“Simp.”
“She’s adorable to begin with, but she’s like a thousand times cuter when she’s half asleep,” he says. You smile to yourself.
“Tell us more,” Yunhyeong says.
“Does he have to?” Chanwoo groans.
“I mean, y/n’s my best friend. She makes me laugh, she makes studying for the worst courses bearable somehow, I love spending time with her, I love it when she falls asleep with her head on my shoulder and I hate it when she cries,” he says. You’re shocked at how quickly he answers. “But I also love it when I can make her stop crying. I don’t know, I just really like her and I have no idea what to do about it.”
“You’re in love with her, we been knew.” Chanwoo sounds 100% sure. He’s not wrong, that is what it sounds like. “And we all know your lyrics are about her too.”
“What?”
“It does sound like you love her,” Yunhyeong says.
“Shit,” Hanbin mutters under his breath. Your heart’s racing, waiting to hear what he says next. “Yeah, I think I do.”
You lose your focus, ignoring whatever Yunhyeong and Chanwoo say next because you can’t believe it. Your best friend, the boy you love with all your heart, loves you too. You don’t know what to do next, but that’s a pretty good start.
“I should go see if she’s done,” you hear someone say, which snaps you back to reality.
You rush back to Hanbin’s room and sit down at his desk, trying to act casual. There’s a bunch of notebooks piled against the wall, so you grab one, pretending to read it. Until something catches your eye.
If feelings could be controlled, I would’ve thrown mine away a long time ago. I’m talking bout you and me, when I try to take a step forward, you take his hand and become distant.
You’ve seen some of Hanbin’s lyrics before, but only the ones he’s shared with you. It feels like an invasion of his privacy, but you can’t help but wonder if these are about you, especially after what Chanwoo said in the kitchen.
I’ve got feelings for you and you’re embarrassing me. Why are you so pretty if you’re not mine?
Your eyes jump to the top of the page, looking for a date. He wrote this a year and a half ago. You try to go back in your memory to figure out what was happening around that time, when it hits you.
You dated this guy in your English class that October. You remember he came up to you after one of your lectures and asked if you and Hanbin were dating, since you always seemed to be together. You laughed and rolled your eyes. He said he was glad he had the chance to finally talk to you, since that was one of the few classes you had without Hanbin. He asked if he could take you out for dinner that weekend and you said yes. When you told Hanbin, he didn’t seem disappointed, but he must have been if he wrote this. Your ex wound up leaving you after three months. He didn’t explicitly say it, but you suspect he was jealous because you spent more time with Hanbin than him. It was true, but that didn’t make it hurt any less.
You never mentioned anything about your breakup to Hanbin, but he knows you too well. You wound up telling him about it when you were up late one night talking. He held you while you cried, but he never said a bad word about your ex. Later on, you realized you were crying more about how you’d never have Hanbin than the actual breakup.
While thinking about that, you realize Hanbin hasn’t dated anyone in the time you’ve been friends. You know he has tons of other friends, and you know some of them also have crushes on him, but he never seemed interested. Now you know why.
Yunhyeong appears in the doorway at that exact moment, smiling at you. You put the notebook down, trying to act natural.
“Hey,” he says. “Have a nice shower?”
“Yeah, it was great,” you reply, awkwardly.
“You called your roommate, right?” You nod. “Are you going to head home soon?”
“You trying to get rid of me?” You ask, jokingly. Yunhyeong immediately shakes his head.
“Hanbin said you have some midterms and papers due this week that you seemed pretty stressed about. We just assumed you’d want to head home and work on those.”
“That’s kind of both of you,” you say. “Perhaps you have a point.”
“Do you want me to walk you home?”
“Where’s Hanbin?” You’re scared to see him, but you’re also excited. You’re curious as to how he’s going to act around you now. You didn’t really have a proper conversation earlier.
“I’m right here,” he suddenly appears next to Yunhyeong in the doorframe. You can’t stop yourself from smiling when you see him. He smiles back, which makes you a little flustered. “Have a nice shower?”
You roll your eyes. “I smell like you now.” Hanbin raises his eyebrows at that, and Yunhyeong smirks.
“I’m gonna go find Chanwoo,” he says. “I’ll leave you two alone.”
“Are you gonna stay for a little while?” Hanbin asks. You can’t tell if he wants you to, so you shake your head.
“I should probably work on my philosophy paper.”
“I should do that too.” You want to stay, and work on it together, but he doesn’t suggest it. You’re too scared to.
“Text me when you’re done,” you say. “You can send it to me and I’ll edit it for you.” He smiles at that.
“Thank you in advance.” You smile back. “I can drive you home as a token of my gratitude.”
“Can we walk?” It’s only 5 minutes, surely the two of you can act normal for that long.
“Sure,” he replies. “Have you got all your stuff?” You nod, grabbing your bag from the bed. Yunhyeong offered you one of his tote bags to put last night’s clothes in, so you pick that up as well.
You follow Hanbin into the kitchen, where Yunhyeong and Chanwoo are still eating their breakfast. You say bye to both of them, and promise to see them again soon. Chanwoo laughs at that. Normally you wouldn’t think anything of it, but now it makes you feel slightly anxious. You ignore that feeling and go to put on your shoes.
Once you’re outside, you feel so much better. Hanbin must notice, cause he’s looking at you with a weird expression on his face.
“What?”
“Nothing,” he says, walking down his driveway to the sidewalk. “They say fresh air is good for hangovers.”
The second you get over to him, you give him a smack. “I’m not hungover.”
“Sure you aren’t.” He gestures to the tote bag in your hand. “I can take that.”
“Thanks,” you hand it to him. “And thanks for putting up with drunk me.”
“It’s fine,” is all he says.
“Sorry if I said anything dumb.”
“You’re always saying dumb things, y/n, last night was no different.” You roll your eyes at that.
“I didn’t do anything stupid, did I?” You ask quietly. It’s the perfect opportunity to bring up the kiss.
“Of course not,” he says quickly, smiling at you. “You were actually kind of boring.”
“Shut up,” you mutter. He bumps his shoulder against yours as you turn off his street. While you walk, you send your roommate a text to let her know you’re on your way home. She says she’ll leave the door unlocked.
You and Hanbin talk about your midterms for the rest of the way. You’re slightly disappointed he doesn’t mention anything about last night, but you understand if he doesn’t want to ruin your friendship. You don’t want to bring it up because you don’t want to admit you were eavesdropping.
When you get to your front door, he makes sure you get in safely before saying bye.
“Thanks again,” you say, as the two of you stand in your doorway awkwardly.
“That’s what friends do.” You groan at that, which makes Hanbin blush. You must’ve had the same reaction last night when you said you wanted to be his girlfriend. You wish you could remember.
“I’ll see you tomorrow, right?” He nods.
“Of course.”
You give him a quick hug and say thanks again before he leaves. Once you close the front door, your roommate pops out from her room.
“So?” She asks, running over to you.
“What?” You put your things down in the hallway and follow her into the living room.
“Something’s up,” she glances you up and down as you sit down in the armchair. “You spent the night at his place, you’re wearing his clothes, your hair is wet - that only means one thing.”
“It’s not what you think,” you tell her, pulling Hanbin’s sweater tighter around you. It smells so freaking good, you’re never giving it back. Even though you have like 5 other hoodies from him.
“What is it then?” She raises an eyebrow.
“How much time do you have?”
“More than enough,” she smiles. “Let me put the kettle on.”
============
Things with Hanbin stay the same during the week. You edit each other’s essays and study for your midterms over FaceTime. He invites you over on Friday night to celebrate being halfway done with the semester. Apparently Chanwoo lost some bet between the three of them and he’s buying dinner. How could you say no?
The day of, you’re about to leave when your roommate catches you in the kitchen.
“Please tell me you’re not wearing that.” You glance down. You’re wearing one of Hanbin’s t-shirts and a pair of sweats.
“What’s wrong with this?” You ask. “We’re not going clubbing.”
“Yeah, but you want him to sleep with you, don’t you?” That makes you blush. “You should at least wear some makeup.”
She grabs your hand and pulls you into your room. While she goes through your closet, you shoot Hanbin a quick text saying you’re running late. This better be worth it.
In the end, your roommate lets you keep his shirt on. She says it makes you look more “fuckable,” whatever that means. You wind up changing into jeans and throwing a plaid shirt on top (which is also Hanbin’s, but you don’t tell her that). She brushes some brown eyeshadow on for you and picks out a nice shade of lipstick, which also happens to be smudge proof (“since you’ll be making out”). After you swipe it on, she finally lets you put your shoes on to leave. You’re unlocking the front door when she stops you again.
“What now?” She drops a couple of condoms into your hand. “Oh my god.”
“You and Hanbin would have adorable babies, but I don’t think now is the right time for either of you-”
“Why does everyone think I need condoms?” You say, mostly to yourself. You stuff them into your bag anyway.
“I just want you to be prepared.”
“I appreciate that.” She smiles and opens the door for you.
“You have your keys, right?” You roll your eyes but hold them up. “Good, now go get laid!”
You feel bad about running late, so you speedwalk to Hanbin’s. You get there in less than 3 minutes, which you’re quite proud of. When he opens the door, he smiles at you.
“Is that my shirt?” You blush.
“Yes.” You push past him so you don’t have to look at him any longer. It wasn’t so bad in class, because the two of you had something else to focus on. But now that you’re back in his house, you’re feeling anxious again. He still thinks you don’t know about the kiss.
“y/n!” Chanwoo appears in the hallway. “Pizza got here like 10 minutes ago, come have it while it’s hot.”
You follow him into the kitchen, where he grabs you a plate. While he does that, you open the fridge to grab a drink. The second you pick up a can, Hanbin magically shows up and takes it from you.
“I don’t think so.”
“Don’t tell me what to do.” You go to take it back, but he holds it above his head so you can’t reach.
“Kim Hanbin,” you say, trying to use your serious voice. “Give me back my drink or else I’ll never proofread your essays again.”
“I can easily find someone else to do that.” He keeps the can raised. You rolls your eyes but reach for it anyway. That makes Hanbin laugh as he tries to keep it away from you.
“Can you two stop flirting?” You almost forgot Chanwoo was there. Whoops. You glance at Hanbin and he seems as caught off guard as you, which makes you feel better. You snatch the drink out of his hand while he’s distracted.
The three of you sit down and eat, talking about your classes and your plans for the weekend. Yunhyeong shows up about 15 minutes later. He walks through the door holding way too many grocery bags, so you immediately run over to help.
“Thanks, y/n,” he says, handing you some of them. “I’m glad someone cares about me.”
“Of course I do,” you tell him. Hanbin comes over to help you put them away while Yunhyeong has some pizza.
When you’re done, you jump onto the counter. Hanbin gets a glass of water and sits next to you.
“Have this.” He holds it out.
“Excuse me?”
“It’s important to stay hydrated while you’re drinking.”
“Shut up,” you tell him. “I’ll be fine.”
“Fine as you won’t remember anything?” You freeze. It’s about time he said something, you just didn’t expect it to be like this.
“Is that really such a bad thing?” You tease, but he doesn’t smile.
“Yeah y/n,” he says, running a hand through his hair.
“Fine,” you take the water from him and have a sip. “I don’t want to forget anything that happens today.”
“Good,” he says.
“You better make it memorable then.”
“Oh, I will.” You don’t know what to make of that.
“What did I tell you about flirting?” Chanwoo says suddenly, getting your attention. You roll your eyes, but Yunhyeong changes the subject.
“Who was that girl I dated in first year? I can’t remember her name.”
“Alex?” He shakes his head. “I have no idea then, sorry.”
Yunhyeong runs through some other names, none of which you recognize. To be fair, you only became friends with Yunhyeong and Chanwoo last year. Sure, you spent time in their apartment, but they mostly left you and Hanbin alone to do whatever.
“Wait!” You say suddenly, remembering a story Hanbin told you a while back. Everyone stops and looks at you. “Is she the one who said you were a bad kisser?”
“Yeah,” Yunhyeong replies. “That’s the worst insult I’ve ever gotten.”
“Can’t relate.” Chanwoo looks smug.
“Have you even kissed anyone?” You ask him. “You’re like 12.” That makes Hanbin laugh.
“Shut up,” He says. “I’m only 2 years younger than you.”
“Hanbin’s probably the best kisser out of all of us then,” Yunhyeong points out. You bump your shoulder against Hanbin’s and he smiles.
“Says who?” Chanwoo asks. “We should run a survey.” You roll your eyes.
“What are you going to do?” You reply. “Make out with every girl on campus and ask who they liked best?”
“Well you and Hanbin have already kissed so-” Yunhyeong doesn’t finish his sentence. All of you are staring at him.
“I’m sorry, what?” You ask. You could just tell them you already know, but you decide not to. You want to see how this plays out.
“When you were drunk,” Hanbin jumps in, turning to face you. “It was just a dumb kiss, it didn’t mean anything.”
“It didn’t?” You ask.
“Do you even remember it?”
“No,” you shake your head, “but that doesn’t mean I don’t have feelings for you.” You hear Yunhyeong gasp. Hanbin just looks surprised.
“Did I say anything?” You ask him.
“You said-”
“Shut up Chanwoo,” Hanbin looks at you. “You said you wanted to be my girlfriend.” You could take a second and weigh your options, but you also know if you don’t say something now you probably never will.
“Well, I do.” Your voice shakes a little, but you’re confident in your answer.
“You do?” You might be imagining things, but Hanbin looks happy.
“Yeah.” He thinks for a second, then jumps off the counter.
“Come on.” He holds out his hand, so you take it. Neither of you say anything to Yunhyeong and Chanwoo as you walk right past them, down the hall to Hanbin’s room.
He follows you in and closes door behind you. Now that you’re alone, you don’t know what to do. You glance at Hanbin and he looks just as nervous as you. He’s leaning against the door. You wish he would come hold your hand or sit next to you or anything.
“y/n,” he starts to say, but you cut him off.
“I’m scared.”
“What?” He looks so concerned. You love him for it. “What’s wrong?”
“Come here,” you say without thinking. Hanbin sits next to you and takes your hand as you lean against him. It feels so natural.
“What is it?” He asks quietly, rubbing his thumb over the back of your hand.
“What if we fuck this up?”
“We won’t,” he says right away.
“Listen,” you reply. “You’re my best friend, and I absolutely adore you, but if we do this, and we fall in love and date and whatever and it doesn’t work out, where does that leave us?”
Hanbin turns to look at you. “Haven’t we already fallen in love?”
You answer him by leaning in and giving him a small kiss. You’re surprised at your boldness, but it feels right. When you pull away, the two of you smile at each other. You really do love him.
“Is that what our first kiss was like?” You ask, breaking the silence. “I’m so sad I don’t remember it.”
“It wasn’t like that, no,” he tells you.
“Oh god,” you groan. “Was it like messy and weird? I wasn’t that drunk, was I?”
“No,” he shakes his head. “It was actually really nice.”
“Can we do a reenactment?” Hanbin blushes. “Oh my god, was it like something out of a R-rated movie?”
He shakes his head again. “Maybe like 14A?” You gasp.
“You’ll have to show me.”
“Not today,” he says, “I have things to do.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” You frown.
“Just, uh,” he looks down. “If I kiss you like that again, I’m pretty sure I know what’ll happen next.”
That makes you blush. “Okay cool,” you say awkwardly. “We’ll save that for another time.”
“Good plan,” he smiles at you. “Should we go back out there?” He gestures to the door.
“What do we say?”
“What do you mean?” He asks.
“We’ve been in here, alone, for how long? That’s not what friends do. They’re going to have questions.”
“We’re not friends,” Hanbin says.
“No?” You ask, trying to ignore the fact that your heart rate’s gone up. “What are we then?”
Before he can answer, you hear Chanwoo’s voice outside. “If you two are fucking in there, let us know so we can leave.”
“We’re not!” You and Hanbin yell back in unison.
“Okay good,” Chanwoo responds. You both wait until you hear him walk away.
“Let’s go, so they stop speculating about what we’re doing in here.” You get up. Hanbin doesn’t. “What?”
“I love you.”
“I know.”
“Oh my god,” he groans. “Did you really have to quote Star Wars right now?” You smile, as he stands up.
“Sorry,” you tell him.
Hanbin kisses your forehead, taking your hand. You give him what’s mean to be a quick kiss on the lips, but he wraps his arms around you, holding you close.
“I love you too,” you whisper once he pulls away.
“Thank god for that.” You roll your eyes. “Come on.”
You’re not ready for the constant teasing you’re going to get from Yunhyeong and Chanwoo, but you don’t mind. Hanbin’s yours now, so at least you’ll suffer together. That’s what friends do, right?

______________________________________________________________________
The silence of the nurse’s office was a great contrast to your loud, bustling high school outside. You were glad you got this moment of respite for 2 hours everyday, away from gossiping teenagers and the general chaos of high school.
The nurse was out for a quick break, so you were left to your own accord for a short period of time. You were her assistant of sorts for a few days of the week, selected out of many, so she trusted you in the office. You hummed to yourself as you stocked the cabinets above the sink, a little tune you heard on the radio. You put the antiseptic there, the cotton buds in a jar, and so on. Your thoughts drifted to the never-ending stress as you did your menial task; you had a biology paper due in a few days that you haven’t even started despite being assigned weeks ago, a Calc test coming up, and an anatomy extra credit assignment due that would really boost your grade. It seemed all your time was being claimed by school, school and more school, to be honest. You sighed and wiped a few stray hairs that came loose from your ponytail. All this to become a doctor.
The door creaking and loud chatter from outside broke your anxious thoughts. You told whomever that had entered you would be would with them in a minute as you quickly put back all the stuff and washed your hands. The person hummed in acknowledgement and sat down on own of the beds of the office. You turned around with a smile, only for it to be replaced with a frown.
Park Jisung.
Rebellious Skater Boy extraordinaire.
His dyed blonde hair created a messy halo above his face as he looked up at you with a sheepish smile. His eyes were sparkling and he toyed with the metal chain hanging on his neck.
“Hey Y/N, how’s it going?”
“You’re here again?”
Jisung put on a mock hurt expression and grasped his chest like you had stabbed him.
“Oof! You don’t want to see my handsome face anymore?” he grinned.
You sighed and put your hands on your hips. “What kind of injury have you afflicted upon yourself this time, Jisung?”
Jisung sheepishly held up his bleeding hand and you gasped.
“Jesus Christ! Have I not told you to be more careful?” you nagged as you got out your recently stockpiled antiseptic and swabs.
He leaned back and shrugged. “No pain, no gain, I guess.”
“Gain? Landing that front flip thingy?” you scoffed, taking out the gauze from the closet.
“It’s called a frontside Y/N,” Jisung said, exasperated.
“Front flip, front side, whatever; same thing. Either way, you come into my office looking like you just lost a fight with the concrete!” you shook your head as you bent down beside him to soak the cotton in the antiseptic. So focused were you in this task, you didn’t notice Jisung look at your visage admiringly, appreciating your beautiful features and liking the way your hair fell in front of your eyes.
“Lowkey kinda did— ah, fuck! What was that for!” Jisung exclaimed as he snatched his injured hand away from yours.
You rolled yours eyes and grabbed back his hand. His hands were warm and slightly calloused, however, marred by the many scars he had gotten from skateboarding. You ignored the little spark you got from touching his hand and went back to what you were doing.
“You big baby. A little antiseptic never hurt.”
“Well yeah of course it doesn’t, but when you just press it on my hand without warning, it stings like hell!” the teen whined as your dotted the cotton swab around the wound, cleaning the blood up and the cut.
Your rolled your eyes for the nth time and a comfortable silence fell between the two of you. When you finished cleaning his hand, you reached for the gauze and Jisung broke the silence.
“Did you finish that bio assignment Mr. Allen assigned yet?” he muttered, blushing from the prolonged contact (not that you could see).
Despite fully fitting the rebellious skater kid stereotype, Jisung was actually pretty decent at school. He took some of the same honors classes as you, and mostly got B’s while you strived for A+’s. He was always unfocused in class, unfortunately, and when he got randomly called on by the teacher and he didn’t know the answer, you shook your head disappointedly at your front seat.
“Um… kinda?” you fibbed while you carefully placed the gauze on his hand.
Jisung scoffed. “You haven’t even started it, have you?”
“Well you haven’t either!” you defended.
“Y/N, Miss A+, the greatest and most examplenary student in this school,—” he exaggerated, while you pouted, “—procrastinating? Wow, the world must be ending!”
You hit him playfully on his shoulder, momentarily letting his hand go. He laughed.
“Shut up!” you said, unable to respond to him wittily while you both blushed.
______________________________________________________________________
“You, sir, are whipped as hell,” Jeno squinted at Jisung, pointing a ketchup-covered fry in his direction.
Jisung was shaken out of his thoughts by his best friend and looked away from some point in the distant he was staring at.
“Huh?”
“This proves my point, idiot.” Jeno said, as he took a sip of his coke.
“No really, what?” Jisung asked confusedly.
“We were just stating some facts. I like EXO, Haerim is totally cheating on Yoonsung, and you have the biggest crush in the world on Y/N, you love-struck fool,” Haechan jumped into the conversation savagely, all in a matter-a-fact tone.
“Holy shit, Haerim is cheating on Yoonsung? With who?” Jaemin put his bag down at the table and sat down.
“Whom, Jaemin. Not who. With Eunhyung, actually, but that’s not the point,” Haechan narrowed his eyes at Jaemin, who rolled his eyes and dug into his pizza.
“Shut up Haechan.” Jisung pouted, while discreetly checking you out.
“I mean look at you! Everytime we go to lunch, you have to sit at this spot so you can gawk at Y/N for a solid 30 minutes. You look like a fucking creep,” Jeno exclaimed.
“I-I just can’t help but notice! Y/N’s really pretty and nice and smart and—”
“The reason you purposely slam yourself into an extension when we’re at the skatepark?” Chenle slyly added as he looked up from his book.
The whole group laughed uproariously, drawing many gazes to the notorious Skater Boys’ table. Jisung covered his red face with his hands, his embarrassment keeping him from making his usual savage comebacks. When it came to Y/N, Jisung turned into mochi mush.
“T-That’s because my wheel popped out!”
“Oh? What happened when you couldn’t stick the landing after the flatrail?” Haechan crossed his arms and raised his pierced eyebrow.
“I—”
“You’re one of the best people on the flatrail I know, bro. The one time my skateboard came out from under me you kicked me while I was down, so don’t give us that bullshit.” Renjun accused.
“Well, it’s not like it’s purposeful or anything, but, uh, like—”
“Shut up Jisung. Work up your courage to confess to her, it’s not that hard!” Jaemin offered, while sending a wink to the group of girls passing by their table.
“Says the boy who gets, like, a gazillion confessions a day. Bro, she’s out of my league! Ugh.” Jisung exclaimed and slumped dejectedly to the lunch table.
______________________________________________________________________
“What is it now?” you asked, not even looking up from your desk.
“Uh, my leg?”
You sighed and swiveled around on your comfy office chair, one of the perks of being a nurse assistant.
Jisung was wearing a neon yellow track jacket and some black skinny jeans today, some blue checkered vans adorning his feet. Your eyes zoomed in on one of the rips of the jean, placed on the knee, and it was bloody and bruised.
“Christ,” you muttered.
Again, you took out the cotton swabs and the antiseptic and the gauze while he sat down on one of the medical beds. You put the materials on the bedside table and he lifted his knee up to his attention.
Luckily was the wound was superficial and not that deep, so it would be easy to heal, but it sure as hell would probably hurt for a long time.
“So… how’s the, uh, campaign trail going?” he asked awkwardly after a moment of silence.
“You know about it? Ah, well, it’s going pretty okay, actually. We’ve drummed up alot support from the arts kids, but not as much with the athletes,” you murmured, surprised he knew that you were running for student body president. You wiped the antiseptic over his knee and his leg gave an involuntary jerk, and he gave a sheepish smile.
“Yeah, your posters all over the school.”
“Oh yeah, that,” you blushed, slightly embarrassed you didn’t notice that glaring fact in front of your slight crush. He looked so handsome today, unlike your usual clean-guy type. He looked wild and rebellious and fun all wrapped up into an attractive package.
“Well, I’m really busy nowadays. I never have time to do anything that’s mildly entertaining, like reading a good book or drawing,” you lamented.
“You call that fun?” Jisung snorted. You pouted and slapped him on his shoulder.
“Hey!”
“No no no I don’t mean it like that! It’s pretty admirable that your straightedge and everything. But… is that, like, all you do?” he frowned shifting closer to your scent.
You nervously put ointment over the wound, unnerved by his proximity.
“Well… yeah?”
“That sounds… yeah. Hey, erm, do you wanna go out with our group, one time?” he nervously twiddled his thumb as you momentarily paused.
“Why? Because I’m so boring?” it was said aggressively, but the twinkle in your eye and the slight smile gave away your mischievous intentions.
Because Jisung was Jisung and he became the living embodiment of mush around you, he didn’t notice your signs and inwardly panicked.
“No! Uh, I just thought you’d like to try something different I guess,” Jisung stuttered, flailing for some grounding around his crush.
You stared at him, hard and direct. Jisung didn’t look like he had ulterior motives. He looked back at you in the eyes, a blush still on his cheeks because of his embarrassment.
“Sure. When and where?” you smiled brightly at him, and he sighed in relief.
“I’ll text you.”
______________________________________________________________________
Honestly, you never expected you find yourself in this situation.
It was 10 at night, you weren’t studying, and you were somewhere, in the city, in a near deserted skatepark.
Your parents were going to kill you.
Well, if they found out.
“FUCK YOU, YOU THOT!” you heard a voice shouting.
You look over to see Haechan yelling at Mark, who was laughing and speeding away on his neon green skateboard. Haechan quickly sets down his orange skateboard and runs after Mark, arms and limbs flapping wildly.
On the other hand, Renjun and Chenle were playing tag around the skatepark, completely ignoring the skateboards they had brought with them. Their skateboards seemed to lie pitifully on the ground, unused while Chenle was screaming loudly. Someone was going to trip over that shit.
Jeno and Jaemin, however, were leant up against a streetlight and drinking… capri-suns? You did a double-take and looked closer. Yes, indeed they were drinking silver Capri-Sun juice packets; Jeno holding a grape-flavored one while Jaemin was slurping on a strawberry kiwi one.
Update: Someone did trip over the skateboard. RIP Haechan.
Haechan starts screaming at Renjun and Chenle, who start laughing at his disheveled appearance. Not gonna lie, you jumped a little when Haechan suddenly put them in a headlock, and the Chinese boys were looking like they were about to choke.
You hear a big sigh to your left and you turn to see Jisung facepalming in the fluorescent lamplight. He held a neon blue skateboard with green glow-in-the-dark lines etched onto the deck, still vibrant and colorful despite it’s wear-and-tear.
“Why are they like this?” Jisung sighs again.
Jaemin hears Jisung’s complaint and raises an eyebrow.
“Why do you have to be so emo, Jisung?” Jaemin taunts, the silver of his juice packet flashing as he takes a long sip.
Jeno snorts and in turn spits out some of his grape juice. The rest of the group notice the flying liquid out of Jeno’s face and start laughing at him.
Jisung, after chuckling at Jeno’s mishap, turns back towards you.
“Welp, these idiots happen to be my friends, and they’re fun... I guess.”
You chuckle softly and hug your cardigan closer to you. It was getting chillier as the night progressed, and you were admittedly, totally unprepared. You had come straight here after school clubs instead of going home, so you had nothing but your light brown cardigan to keep you warm.
Jisung sees you slightly shivering, and frowns.
“Hey, are you alright?”
You smile slightly at him.
“Yeah, don’t worry about it.”
Jisung tilted his head and pursed his lips. “No you’re not.”
Before you could do anything, Jisung sets his skateboard down roughly and shakes off his windbreaker. You opened your mouth to protest, but the blond-haired youth just threw it at your head
“Just take it, Y/N,” he huffs.
Because of your blocked line of vision, you don’t see Jisung blush heavily and then pout cutely. You carefully take it off your head and clutch the fabric in your hand, confused why he was doing this.
“Just… just think of this as payback for all the times you treated me at the clinic, o-okay?” Jisung stuttered, raising his now-bare arms and scratching the back of his head. His head was turned slightly away from you, so only some parts of his face you could see.
“I… thank you, Jisung.” You grin widely up at the tall boy and slip on his neon windbreaker. It was, of course, quite large and hit you mid thigh, and the sleeves gave you very extended sweater-paws. However, you could smell his deodorant faintly from the fabric and you wanted to die in a hole.
The neon yellow of the jacket reflecting in the lamplights attracted the attention of the other boys, and they start jeering loudly.
“Damn, Jisung, it’s only the first date and you’re already giving her clothes to wear?” Mark shouts at the two of you, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
“FUCK OFF!” Jisung took off running towards Mark while you covered your red face in your hands.
______________________________________________________________________
It was currently… 12 AM right now and you were confused as fuck.
The group were still energetic and high even after 2 hrs at the park, frequently exchanging high fives while passing each other on their skateboards. They all performed dazzling tricks in the artificial light and it had turned into some competition on who could impress you more. Chenle did a cool grabby thing with his board, while Jeno did a stellar flip on his and they all looked to you to see who you were impressed by.
Except, you eyes were captivated by one.
You were staring dumbfounded at the blond-haired boy who seemed like he was flying on his skateboard. JIsung looked like some character in a 90’s teenage movie, rebellious and unrestrained fun written all over his neon clothes and his gleeful face. He seemed much more in his element here, at the skateboard park, unlike school where the walls couldn’t contain his thirst for life; Jisung was so much more free.
However, you couldn’t ignore the glaring fact that Jisung was much better at skateboarding than you thought.
Okay, so you knew he wasn’t bad, but he wasn’t very good either. He comes into your office like… what, 2-3 times a week? By those statistics, Jisung should’ve been tripping over his board and currently in the hospital by now, but no, Jisung was nimbly doing tricks and runs on his skateboard. He slid down the flatrail with ease and landed perfectly before rolling to the bowl, in which he jumped and flipped his skateboard. This, clearly, was not the skating of a untrained and clumsy newbie; this was the skating of someone experienced and who doesn’t get hurt all the time.
You looked at the time on the dim screen of your phone, of which was at 19%. Despite it being the weekend, you wanted to get home quickly.
“Jisung!”
The boy’s head snapped towards you and he quickly halted his lap around the park.
“Y/N are you alright?” Jisung asked concernedly while the other boys in the group paused in their tricks.
“Yeah I’m all good! It’s just it’s getting a bit late now, I’m gonna go home!” you shouted, still clutching his windbreaker around your body.
“Wait, let me accompany you!” Jisung picked up his board and walked towards the bench you were occupying.
“Hey, morons! I’m gonna get Y/N back home, okay?” Jisung turned back to the rest of the boys.
“OOOoooOOOooOOhhHHHh sPicY!” Haechan laughed at Jisung.
“Yeah yeah we’ll follow you up as soon… as soon as we get Chenle out of this bush,” Jaemin stared, desperately trying to contain his laughter at Renjun and Jeno trying and failing to get the poor Chinese student out of the bush after his board had slipped out from under him.
“BYE THOT!” Jisung put the skateboard under his arm.
“BYE, ROMEO!”
The pair of you walked in a semi-awkward silence back to your house, the usual noises of a suburban neighborhood surrounding you.
“Uh… you got through the primaries for pres position?” Jisung asked, breaking the silence.
“Yup… after completely crushing those underclassman,” you grinned up at him, the streetlights casting shadows upon his face.
“Eyyyy nice.”
You two easily lapsed into light-hearted conversation, discussing the teachers that you hated and the gossip around the school.
There was a pause in conversation, and you took that opportunity to ask Jisung something that had been on your mind all night.
“Hey, uh, if you don’t mind me asking… how are you so good at skateboarding?”
A momentary flash of panic struck across his face, which quickly settled itself into to feigned confusion.
“Huh?”
“Like… erm, you know how you always go to my office a lot for your injuries? I just thought…” you floundered, trying to get information without somehow insulting the skater boy.
“Oh, I’m usually much worse than today,” he waved it off.
“I guess today was my lucky day, probably. I think I just perform, uh, much better in front of company?” Jisung eyes roved, searching everywhere but you.
“Ah.” It fell silent before you broke it.
“Jisung… I had a really fun time tonight. And I wanted to thank you for that,” you said, lucky that your blushing cheeks were covered by the darkness of nights.
“No problemo Y/N! I think everyone had a bit more fun with you here… you can always go out with us, if you want, you know… yeah.”
“Sure, I’ll hit you up,” you fingered with the buttons of your cardigan in nervous because of Jisung’s close proximity to you.
Pretty soon the two of you stopped near your house and you looked at each other awkwardly.
“Yeah… again, thank you for taking me out,” you stuttered, wondering whether you should hug him or not.
“Yeah, yeah, it’s all good.”
Fuck it. Let’s carpe diem this shit.
You extended your arms to the boy and a brief look of shock and panic crossed his face before he, too, extended his arms to your waist and pulled you closer. He had to bend down a little to your height, and you too held each other for a few seconds. In this brief few seconds or so, you buried your face into the crook of his neck, while he settled his head on your shoulder. Jisung was warm and comfy, and while you were initially tense, you relaxed in his hold.
You released each other and you ran to your doorstep.
“Bye Jisung! I’ll see you Monday!”
“Yeah, uh, bye!”
You entered your house quietly, before tip-toeing to your room. As soon as you sat down on your chair, you realized you had forgotten to give back Jisung’s jacket.
Shit.
______________________________________________________________________
Jisung stared at your door for a few seconds, trying to figure out whether the last few minutes was a dream or not. His body still felt warm from the time you had touched him. He must of looked like a straight idiot or a stalker, staying and staring in one position for an extended amount of time.
However, he was in a daze of confusion and happiness. Holy shit, had he just hugged his crush of the past 2 years? And… she initiated it? Holy fucking shit. Alsfskfhaslfdjsjfs.
Jisung turned to walk back to his crew and it was only a few steps until he suddenly fist pumped and jumped in the air in joy. He was getting closer.
______________________________________________________________________
“Thank you!” you had thanked the bus driver, a old sweet lady, and she smiled a red-cheeked smile at you in return. You stepped off the bus and made your way to your classroom, kind of nervous of what you were about to do. You were going to give back Jisung’s jacket.
Many people greeted you in the hallway with hello’s or good morning’s because of your popularity as soon-to-be class president, and you waved back or acknowledged them. You entered your classroom to set down your bookbag, the early morning light nearly blinding you from the windows.
“Hey Y/N!” your classmate Soora greeted you from her perch atop her desk, in the midst of talking to her friends.
“Hi Soora! How are you?” you smiled at her as you pulled the neon windbreaker from your bag.
“I’m fine! You?”
“All good!” you sent her a thumbs up.
“Say, whaddya got there?” she jumped off her desk and leaned closer to the neon object hanging of your arm.
“Oh, yeah, um, it’s someone’s jacket. I need to give it back to him,” you waved off, knowing Soora was nosy as hell.
“Hold the phone; HIM? As in the singular pronoun of the male gender? XY chromosomes? H-I-M?” she gasped loudly and as a result, several people turned their heads towards the disturbance.
“Shhhhh! Soora!” you softly scolded, looking suspiciously around and smiling at everybody so they could get their attention off of you.
“Well who is it?” Soora crossed her arms across her chest, a small pout on her tinted lips.
“No one you know,” you replied, walking out of the classroom. Unfortunately, the gossipy brunette followed you out, cutting herself out of her group’s conversation.
You took a quick pace, sneakers tapping across the floor loudly, in hope you could lose her or she would give up. No good; Soora just upped her pace to keep in line with you.
“Y/N! Tell me something!” she whined to you.
You rolled your eyes.
“You’ll find out soon anyway,” you replied as you turned a corner to Class 5275; Jisung’s Lit classroom.
The door was open, thankfully, and you quietly went in, however, people saw you as soon as you entered.
A chorus of hey’s and hello’s were given to you and you acknowledged them. You looked around the classroom to see a mop of blonde hair; aha! You could see Jisung by the window talking to a few friends, his face contorted in a laugh as Jeno cracked a joke. The sun was shining on his face and reflecting off his hair, so he looked hella handsome today.
“Jisung!” you called out. Jisung’s head snapped to you, as did many other’s.
“Y/N?” Jisung said confusedly as he got out of his seat.
“Hey Jeno! Hi Chenle!” you waved to the group of boys near him.
“Hey Y/N!” they called out and snickered as Jisung neared you. Jisung turned to glare at them.
“Uh, hi?” he greeted you as he stood in front of you.
“Jisung! I’m so sorry I totally forgot it on Saturday; here’s your jacket!” you smile as you hand him the neon windbreaker on your hand.
His eyes widened in recognition as he took it out of your hands.
“Ah! So you’re the reason I was freezing all weekend!” he smirked at you.
“Shut up! You offered!”
“And you forgot.” You slapped his bicep in retaliation, a mock-hurt expression on your face and you both laughed.
“Well anyway, thanks. I’ll see you later, I guess?” Jisung looked down at you.
“Yeah, yeah. Bye!” you patted his forearm and turned towards the doorway.
“Oh wait; don’t forget to vote for me!” you looked back at him.
“I will!” he waved back at you.
As you stepped through the doorway, you realized how semi-quiet the classroom had gotten. Most conversations had died down and all of Class 5275’s attention were on you and Jisung, eyes wide at the unexpected interaction.
Soora was waiting for you at the doorway, her mouth open in shock.
“Park Jisung? You were giving a jacket back to Park Jisung, the low-key emo skater kid who happens to be hella hot????” Soora loudly said.
“Uh, yeah? I forgot to give it back to him,” you leaned away from the eager girl.
“Wait wait wait, hold up, I’m so shook right now. First, how did you get the jacket? Where did you get the jacket? Second, how do you know Park Jisung? And his group of friends? Do you know how many people are crushing on him—”
“Calm down Soora! I was hanging out with them and I was cold so Jisung gave me his jacket, that’s all-”
“PARK JISUNG GAVE YOU HIS JACKET?!” Soora burst out in the middle of the hallway. Suprised faces turned to you, growing even more shocked when recognizing who you were. Loud whispers and conversations started up as you facepalmed at the girl’s idioticness.
______________________________________________________________________
For the next few weeks, you were bombarded in questions about your friendship with Jisung. It was a bit unexpected, you supposed; the skater kid is friends with a preppy smartass. However, the gossip surrounding you and him made you more popular, so it was beneficial to your campaign at least.
You, Jisung, and the rest of the kids hung out more as time progressed. You got together during the weekends at the skatepark, you sat next to each other in class, and shared inside jokes and memes on the groupchat you were added into. You got closer to all of them, but you were just naturally more attached to Jisung.
As the two of you hung out more, Jisung and you had become very close. He was now not some annoying skater kid who went your office nearly every other day to get his injuries treated; Jisung was a friend who you could confide in one moment, and roast in another. He was amazing and scarily, you found him more and more attractive.
Park Jisung was giving you feelings you’d never experienced before. You got butterflies in your stomach when you spoke to him, you sometimes stuttered when you were close to him, and your face was always red when you hugged him. He was funny, he was charming, and really, really fun. You couldn’t believe you never noticed him before when you were in his chem class a few years ago.
Jisung still visited your office with suspiciously less injuries since you got closer. You would chat with him while helping other patients. You asked him if he was skipping class, but he always denied it and said it was his free period so “he might as well hang out with someone he could tolerate”.
Because of your close friendship, many people asked both you if you were dating, which made it worse. You both always denied it, unaware of the longing gazes you two would send each other.
It all came to a point a few days later, when the presidential elections were announced. You had won (by a landslide it was rumoured) the position of student council president for the next school year and were in the midst of a flurry of congratulations when you felt a hand on your shoulder.
“Y/N?” Jisung’s voice rang out.
You turned towards him and an immediate smile crept up your face.
“Jisung! It’s nice to see you!” you greeted, turning your attention away from your other classmates.
“Congratulations on your election!” he held his arms out, and you stepped into them so you could hug each other.
“Thank you!”
Jisung suddenly grew a bit nervous, and he scratched the back of his head.
“Uh, could you come with me for a moment? In private?” he asked.
Needless to say, you were a bit confused.
“Sure!” you waved goodbye to your friends and walked with him.
His long-legged gait led you both to the courtyard. It was sunny today, and as a result, Jisung just wore some skinny jeans and a Supreme t-shirt while you were in a floral sundress.
During the walk there, you had an inward debate with yourself. These feelings had been going on for quite sometime, and since it was nearing the end of the school year, you might as well let it out. You decided, uncharacteristically impulsively, that you were going to to confess to Jisung.
He took you under a tree and paused there.
“I have something to say,” he intoned seriously.
You took a deep breath.
“I do to.”
“Huh?” Jisung frowned.
You could do this. It was the perfect time to do it, anyway.
“Park Jisung… I like you. Like, as in more than a friend kind of like,” you let out, looking down.
It was silent for a few seconds, the only sound was the leaves rustling in the breeze.
“Well shit. Holy shit.” he breathed out in amazement.
“What?” you asked, your heart pumping from the nervousness of your confession.
“I… I like you alot too. In fact, I was going to confess to you before you said it. Wow, this is great, like, holy fuck I can’t believe this is happening.” he ran his hands through his hair.
“Really?” You jumped up and circled your arms around his neck and giggled. He hugged you back tightly.
“If we’re on the subject of confessions, I have something else to confess.” Jisung whispered in your ear.
You leaned back from him for a moment, high off the joy that your crush liked you back.
“Y/N, I have liked you since our chem class 2 years ago”— your eyes widened—” and… um…” he mumbled the last part.
“Sorry, what?”
“I may have... went to the nurse office alot so I could see you.”
Your brows came together, until your mind worked out what he was implying.
“Wait a fucking minute! Did you deliberately get injured so you could… so you could…” you sputtered, bewildered from this new information.
“Yeah?”
“Your confession is rejected, you little shit! Do you know how much supplies you took up? Also, did you keep in mind what you could’ve to your body?!” you nagged and slapped his chest and he laughed.
You two settled into comfortable silence, luxuriating in each other’s presence.
You reached up and pecked his cheek.
“Just kidding, I like you a lot, you idiot,” you smiled up at him.
Your blissful moments were interrupted by loud cheering from the bushes. You both turned to see the squad cheering, Chenle fake-sobbing into Renjun’s arm dramatically as Jeno and Jaemin spun each other around, giggling.
“My son… my son has grown up from a skateboarding little shit into a skateboarding little shit who has a girlfriend!” Haechan wiped a fake tear as he stood in front of you.
“EVERYONE! PARK JISUNG AND Y/N ARE DATING NOW!” Mark shouted to the rest of the school.
“MARK!” Jisung shouted.
Many people shouted their congratlations and cheered, while you buried your face into Jisung’s chest.
In the midst of Jisung threatening to break Mark’s board in half, he hugged you tighter.

this is going to be like a very long, detailed, and mostly my personal observations and notes. as it was my first time seeing neymar and the brazil nt in person, i want to remember everything i can while its still fresh. it was a very exciting and at the same time surreal experience because i see those people all the time on tv games and now there they were few feet away from me...
i took the photos and videos. i am usually pretty good at that but i guess the excitement got the better of me because they did not come out fabulous. tumblr is being stupid with not letting me upload more then one video in a post, and i wanted everything together, so i ended up putting them up on youtube.
the hotel 9/3/2018.
so first i went to the hotel (very close to where i live) on monday 9/3. as it was labor day, i was off work and at a bbq/pool party abt 10 miles from home for the day. brazil nt was scheduled to leave the hotel for their first training at 4pm so i left the party early and, after some traffic drama, made it to the hotel little after 3.40pm. there were not too many people so i had a decent view but i also moved around a bit. some of the support staff was coming out already. a few minutes later, firmino was the first i saw, he waved and went straight to the bus.
Tumblr media
then a group of marquinhos, douglas costa, fabinho etc came out together. only marquinhos paid any attention to the fans, waving and smiling but didnt stop.
Tumblr media
then another group, including casemiro.
Tumblr media
then alisson came out. he was really sweet, smiled, stopped with the fans, signed stuff. interacted the most of anyone else with the fans.
Tumblr media
then another group - i think richarlison (idk him really), filipe luis, thiago silva. thiago was just as nice as alisson, stopped with the fans, signed stuff. he looked to me a bit shorter irl then on tv...
Tumblr media
willian came out alone next.
Tumblr media
at this point, it was almost 4pm, my excitement had totally built up and i was so anxious to see my boy ney. i started thinking that maybe he will get there separately cuz i hadnt seen coutinho and tite either. but there he was! coming out last with barely a minute to spare before 4pm (the timestamp on my photo is 3:58:59pm lol). he was the very last one to come out, chewing on something, with his typical swagger. he waved but didnt stop and the bus left as soon as he got on. he looked just as hot in person as on tv, the cameras dont lie lol. really handsome and very very sexy! i mean, i expected it, i have seen his photos lol but omg he looks so damn good you cant help those dirty thoughts! i felt like an absolute fangirl! this is neither here or there, but he looked to me a little bigger then i expected. just kinda...fuller?
Tumblr media
i only took one photo of him cuz i wanted to look at him with my own eyes rather than thru the camera ;)
it was such an incredible experience seeing neymar and the rest of the guys in person so close that i was shaking after! like for real my hands were shaking, my legs were shaking. and i couldnt stop grinning for a good half an hour after. i went to the boardwalk to calm down a bit and just absorb the experience. people passing by probably thought im crazy or reading love letters on my phone or something cuz i just couldnt stop grinning but i didnt give a flying fuck what they were thinking - i had just seen neymar!
my notes and impressions:
1. OMFG I SAW NEYMAR FROM FEW FEET AWAY. just that, my brain was really way too frazzled to process any other impressions lol
the game 9/7/2018
so after some c. drama, despite my initial hopes, i had accepted that i am not going to go to the game. and then the day before i find out I AM GOING!!! i was so freaked out with excitement lol!!!
getting there was so frustrating! first i had forgot to charge my phone before leaving work so i only had like 30% which was nowhere near good enough for my plans of copious pics and vids. so i had to run into a bodega to buy a charger for the car. then for some complicated reason we had to leave from the ues and fucking DRIVE. crosstown. on a friday. at 6pm. straight thru freakin time square with its gazillion tourists. on top of rush hour. even though the schedule said 8pm, the tickets said the event starts at 7.30 and i wanted to be there early to see the warmups and at 7.02 we were still not even inside lincoln tunnel ffs! i was FUMING and ready to jump outta the car and start yelling at the other cars to get a goddamn fucking move on i got places to be people to see! just ugh. so frustrating. the only upside of taking so long to get to the stadium was that by the time we got there my phone was almost 100%...
anyway, finally at 7.25pm we got there and thru all the checks etc (my joke of a miniature purse was shown as an example to another girl with a slightly bigger purse and praised by security for being perfect size which pissed me off because of their dumbass rules it had is smaller then my regular WALLET ffs and it barely even fits my phone so in no way is it a ‘perfect size’ except maybe for dolls or tiny aliens. but they had the stupid clear bag / tiny purse rule in effect and all i cared at that point was getting in so whatever. still, fucking terrorists. obviously also for more important reasons than just being the cause of my having to have a tiny purse but yeah fucking terrorists).
the stadium was buzzing already. apparently the 7.30 start was for the warmups so perfect for me. this was the view from our seats.
Tumblr media
when we got to our seats, the usa team was out already. and the canarinho was interacting with fans. and then brazil came out.
youtube
ney was warming up with coutinho
Tumblr media Tumblr media
after stretches, he did some practice shooting. this one didnt go in.
Tumblr media
after that the team went back inside and the canarinho came behind the barriers to interact with the fans (photo below especially taken for a.)
Tumblr media
time for the teams to come out. for some reason the tunnel was on my side of the stadium but the benches were on the other side and they lined up there for the anthems. (again, for a.)
youtube
youtube
then the us anthem and, since we dont do things here on a small scale, the flag rolled out was the size of the whole stadium lol
Tumblr media
in the first half neymar was playing in front of me. in the beginning of the game i took a few photos and then i stopped because i wanted to watch the game and see with my own eyes not concentrate on the phone... still, here they are
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
here is the penalty. i didnt catch it go in because i was looking at it happening rather then my phone. i also removed the sound cuz there was screaming when it went in lol. it was a VERY soft penalty btw...
youtube
my notes and impressions:
1. it was a friendly so not surprisingly, it was not an edge-of-your-seat game. still brazil dominated the crap out of the usa team. the difference in class and quality was glaringly obvious.
2. it was strange not supporting my country’s team. but only when i thought about it. otherwise my soccering heart belongs to brazil 100%, without a doubt.
3. watching a game live vs tv: both have pros and cons. again, after watching every week on tv, seeing these guys live in person is simply incredible. just absolutely surreal. like, they are moving, running, kicking right in front of you. you can hear the ball being kicked. feel the tension. see what they are doing without the ball. watch their interactions away from the camera. feel the power of the crowd. its just so much more immersive. at the same time, watching at home the curated game content is... convenient. you get closeups. you get facts from the commentators. your bathroom is nearby (i did carefully time my liquid intake that day to avoid venturing into stadium bathrooms and thank god it worked lol). so imo, watching a game on tv is not really that much worse then watching it live. i always felt like i am getting a completely filtered version on tv and it is filtered but it is not horrible. yes, you are missing out on stuff but its not a total loss.
4. the stadium was about 40% full, 32k of 82k capacity. but it felt more like 2/3, probably because on the other side many sections were not even open so most everyone attending was spread out in one long side and the two goal sides.
5. brazil fans were out strong! i’d say about 70% of the people were brazil fans, and of those about 90% had on brazil jerseys. yellow galore lol. the usa fans were constantly chanting but when the brazil fans decided to make the effort they drowned them out easily and completely!
6. the usa fans were in the section behind one of the goals. throughout most of the game i thought oh cute they are constantly singing their hearts out supporting their clearly outplayed loosing team. then they did iceland’s viking chant. yes, it is a cool chant but its iceland’s. idk why so many have been plagiarizing it! first portugal did it in the wc, then i saw another, and now the american outlaws (the usa ultras)... let iceland have its thing people. i did not appreciate it but no big deal. BUT then they did something that pissed me off - few minutes before neymar was substituted in the 80 min they chanted fuck neymar. i was not best pleased to say the least! lick sweaty balls jealous motherfuckers!
7. we did a wave that went around the stadium like 4 times!
8. there was a small group of 13-14yo girls right behind us that whenever ney touched the ball or looked our way screamed ‘neymaaaarrr, neymaaaaarrrrrrrr, vaiiiiiii, vai neymaaaaaaarrrrrrrr’. one girl in particular was especially shrill and vociferous in her dedication to ney. no sense of decorum whatsoever lol. my bf was smirking at me and was like why dont you go sit with them. i on the other hand was thinking that while i wouldnt go sit with them, if some of my tumblr girls were here.... well those girls wouldnt even know what hit them!
9. i would definitely go to a game again!
10. while the seats we had were really good, i wish there was an option to be even closer and still see the whole pitch. then again, for me it would probably only qualify as ‘close enough’ if im allowed to run along the sidelines lol. but then i wont really be able to watch the game. (hey maybe i can hang from the skycam hahaaaa!). yes, i am a neymar fan but i am also a fan of the game so i want both. i did not have any input in the choice of these seats but i think it was a good trade off - the closest where you can both see the guys and actual game. if i have to pick the tickets for the next game (hopefully i will go again some time!), i would be tempted by the lower levels but the barriers are pretty high so... i would probably go for the same - second level first row.
11. there was a guy sitting next to me with his date and he was trying to be all knowledgeable and impress the girl but half the stuff he was telling her was wrong lol! he kept pointing to douglas costa and telling her its firmino. i was cracking myself up listening to him talk complete bullshit but with such grand authority about technical game stuff.
12. at some point a loose ball ended up into the stands, some guy caught it, and 2 min later security came to take it away from him :/ why not let the guy just keep the ball?!? stupid. if it was me, i’d have made a fuss, maybe pretended that it hit me in the face and threatened to sue the stadium cuz they have not ensured the spectators’ safety or some such crap lol. see if they dont let me keep it to avoid a lawsuit.
13. the canarinho (for a.) - he was really great! interacting with the fans, dancing, hugging fans. really a fantastic mascot and absolute joy to watch! during the halftime he was out on the pitch, doing keepie uppies (in those shoes too!!! showing his brazilianness lol), and kicking balls into the stands
14. i was totally impressed by neymar. it was just so obvious how good he is and no, not because i am biased, which i admittedly am. i expected him to be good, duh, but to see it so clearly was amazing. he is not a fluke, he is the real deal. he stands out among even such quality peers as the rest of brazil nt! just something in the way he interacts with the ball, the way he moves, ‘sees’ his teammates without looking, turns on a dime, does the unexpected. i dont think he ‘thinks’ or ‘calculates’ at all his moves or that it is just a lot of practice, i think it is pure instinct in the moment, i.e. phenomenal natural talent. even though this was not one of his greatest games for sure, he just looked... special and different from the rest. most of the brazil players were displaying their clearly high quality but there is just something unique in the way neymar plays. even if you dont know who he is, what teams are playing, anything at all, you’d still pick him out and know that there is something extraordinary about this guy. if you unfocus your eyes so you see just all same yellow shirt figures, you would still be able to pick out which one is neymar. he did a bit of his skills and tricks and of course i wished he had done more. what i took away from watching him play live was that, in this average game, he looked as good playing live as he has in the past when i have watched his great games on tv. i dont know why. but watching neymar play live was an experience of its own. it felt like his average ‘live’ performance is as good as his great ‘tv’. i cant even imagine what it would be like watching one of his great performances live. while i dont feel im loosing so much watching games on tv vs live as mentioned above, i definitely feel that watching neymar in particular play live is on another level and im missing out when i watch him on tv instead of live. he is absolutely worth the price of admission. i was so disappointed in him for his wc antics but thats in the past now, and i have been reminded how right it feels to be his fan, not just for the nice things he does for kids/charity, his fun personality (and lets not forget the good looks, and oh boy they are SO GOOD lol) but his undeniably outstanding talent on the pitch. his game is just incredible. i hope he keeps healthy. i hope he gets his temper under control not just for a few games but for good. and i pray he always has the freedom to shine like he rightfully can. i am rooting for him to get the appreciation and acknowledgement he deserves, unadulterated by behavioral issues or personal drama.
ok, imma stop now. this post is huge, even by my standards.
