There's this weird stigma around black headcanons for characters where you're discoraged from actually giving them black culture in the name of 'not perpetuating stereotypes' and as a black mixed person who didn't grow up with their heritage minus the antiblackness i faced,it feels like such brownie points reaching tbh.Like why're you slapping black roots onto them if you're not making them afrocentric too?Then they're not even a black character in the same way irl 'black mixed' who treat other black people like shit over their blackness and insult/exploit blackness aren't black either.Black culture is a culture,not the caricatures you see in media and if you can research details for your ship fics,you can research black culture too.Black cultured characters are only seen as bad due to antiblackness framing our culture as inherently bad based on the inherent blackness.'Black characters listening to rap/wearing black hairstyles and black fashion/eating african food/etc is offensive' is about as true as 'tomboys and amab people connected to girlhood dosen't equal butch lesbian or trans women and it's a baseless and harmful assumption to say it could mean that'-Read:It's just hating minorities.Don't be afraid turn your black hc'd faves into hood niggas and baddies and blerds and dolls and earthy black people and studs as long as it's 1.properly researched with black sources,2.fits the specific character and 3.amplifies the canon black cast,not replaces them.Be free bluds

do you have any favorite food headcanons for characters you like? if so id love to hear them, i absolutely adore looking at a character and going “yeah i think you like this food eat up lil blub”

Percy's comfort meal is blue double cheeseburgers with blue stuffed cookies and cotton candy bang.Her,Nico and Hazel used to go to Mcdonalds regularly until the boycott and now they diy the recipes at home and the packaging too and vandalize the buildings(for anybody new to my posts,i headcanon Percy as trans and afrolatina)

Miles and Gwen are super into funfetti and strawberry foods but Miles also likes fruity pebbles stuff better while Gwen likes cotton candy stuff better.As a Percy variant,Hobie is a blue food addict and Margo goes crazy for cookies and cream anything and Miles G digs flan and Peni gives me nutella kid vibes

Stephanie loves bubble waffles because she's jamaican-korean and grew up eating them most consistently than anything else in her diet so it's a comfort food,Cass is a boba and burgers kinda guy(lesbian),Jason's dominican but his favorite latino cuisine is actually mexican and Duke believes in cherry blossom flavoured things supremacy(when he was Robin in Rhato,Jason always ordered him some)

Momo taught Dabi how to make s'mores when he first started radicalizing her,intially just to get at Shouto but he caught dilf-coded older brother feelings for her so he ended up redeeming himself thanks to her,and Dabi convinced Momo to start dipping her burgers in her milkshakes at the same timeframe so now they do both a lot as bonding rituals.Shouto and her perfer cat cafe foods over all other kinds as they find out on their dates to them

Aang loves edible glitter and Katara loves gummy sharks and kit kats and chili dogs(Sonic The Hedgehog kinnie),i think that goes without saying?And modern au Aang and Zuko often go together to Jollibee and mau!Zuko is obsessed with Pushpops.All three of them eat dorayaki together too!!
