Shadybug/ClawNoir supporting character Headcanons
Jagged Stone? More like Jared Smith. He wanted to be a rockin musician, but his type of music is banned by the Supreme so his career never took off. Instead, he ended up marrying his girlfriend, Nannette Couffaine, after accidentally knocking her up with twins, released his pet crocodile into the Seine, got an apartment, and works a regular job that he HATES. But, he secretly still tries to record music and sells it on the black market where it has become somewhat popular in the indie underground, but if he were caught he would go to prison for sure. It’s not a happy marriage but he does what he has to. His kids last names are hyphenated Couffaine-Smith.
No houseboat, and without Royalties from music labels, neither Juleka or Luka could afford to go to Francois Dupont
Penny works as an assistant for Bob Roth and HATES IT. The man is a sexist slave driver, but this business is brutal.
Nadja Chamack is not a news anchor. You can’t be a single mother AND have a career that takes up so much of your time. As a result, Marinette has never had to babysit Manon.
Lila wants to challenge Chloe’s position as queen of the school, but there are no lies about charity work, only lies of what powerful and famous connections she has.
Adrien is not interested in being friendly with Lila, and definitely not going to help her with schoolwork. But he is still the ultimate trophy and key to winning popularity in Lila’s eyes, so she is determined to “win him over”, even though he finds her almost as annoying as Chloe, but Chloe he is stuck with due to her mom’s working relationship with his dad.
Gabriel doesn’t trust Lila one bit.
The sad and negative emotions he is forced to sense due to the power of the Butterfly brooch cause him distress, and he often has to excuse himself due to “headaches” from overworking, as a creative’s work is never done… But he is always listening for the emotions of people crying out for justice, for help, for people who wish they had the power to help.
Andre Glacier is still the Sweetheart’s ice-cream maker, but Sweetheart’s ice-cream is just a special menu item that you can request. Otherwise he has a scheduled route and serves the ice-cream that customers ask for.
Alya’s dad wishes the zoo could focus more on animal enrichment and larger enclosures but they don’t have the budget for such “unnecessary extravagences”.
Mr. Haprel hopes to make it as a famous Mime one day so he can be rich enough to afford to send his daughter, Mylene, to the school he works at as a janitor.
Everyone avoids Ivan.
Thomas Astruc never made it as a famous director, rather, the Supreme favored his University Rival, Andre Bourgeois, who also owns the Le Grande Paris Hotel.
Gina and Roland Dupain are not divorced/separated per say… Gina was sent to prison for civil disobedience. That’s why Tom is a doormat and just goes along with whatever discipline Sabine decides on because he doesn’t want his precious little girl to end up a criminal like her grandmother.
Sabine does not teach an inkpainting class on the weekend or practice tai chi or feng shui.
The walls of Marinette’s home are not pink, they are a boring beige that she hates.
The Agreste Manor is not a sterile, black and white modern decor dungeon. It is a prism of color, function, form, beauty and nature with nods to antiquity and the whimsical. Adrien HATES it. All color and light left this world when his mother died. The art in his house mocks his pain.
There is no school blog for Nathaniel to post his art on… But Marc ended up in that class instead of Marinette. (So did Mireille) He’s still too shy to admit he’s a writer. And even more shy to admit he has a crush on Nathaniel, so all he can do is watch the boy quietly. Rose thinks it’s a romantic tragedy and wants to play matchmaker. Alex thinks it’d be a disaster waiting to happen.
There is no Prince Ali who gives toys to sick kids in hospitals.
There is nothing as frivolous as videogame tournaments, so Max devotes all his spare time to his hobby of robotics and developing an AI… but developing an artificial intelligence is frowned upon. Luckily, Alya can keep a secret… that is, if Max is willing to spare some of his time to helping her havkninto the dark web to research conspiracy theories.
Wayhem is obseesed with Adrien, who can’t stand crazy fanatics and won’t lose any sleep if the Gorilla tackles the scrawny boy to the ground.
After much convincing, bullsh**ing, and bribes, Gabriel is able to host his derby hat design competition at Francois Dupont, (and hopefully, modelling his classmate’s creations will be a bonding point for Adrien to make a new friend) Rose sees it as an opportunity to tries to get Marc and Nathaniel to work with her to create a hat, hoping sparks will fly between them.
Even if Marinette WANTED to enter a stupid contest involving that spoiled, stuck-up Agreste boy, which she DOESN’T, her mother won’t allow it because sewing and doodling outfits is a distraction from her schoolwork.
Chloe still cheats.
But Shadybug discreetly sabotages the fashion show the winning hat is supposed to feature in.
Nathalie never became Gabriel’s assistant or even acquaintance. Instead, she is in charge of the department of the Louvre that archives and locks away all “banned” art and artifacts (aka anything related to Miraculous holders)
Alex thinks she’s creepy and hates how she coldly bosses around her dad.
Audrey is the same as ever, with the exception that she recognizes that her younger daughter Zoe has some talent, and wants Andre to find a movie part for her to play, and ignores Chloe’s bitter jealousy which causes her to lash out at others even nastier than in Ladybug and Cat Noir’s universe.
Nino is treated rudely and ignored by Adrien. Adrien would never agree to play a role in Nino’s movie and even accuses Nino of trying to use Adrien’s celebrity status to give himself an unfair advantage in the student movie competition.
Adrien doesn’t have time for stupid group projects or after school activities. But not because he has a full schedule since this Universe’s Gabriel is a decent father who does not demand perfection and give a 14 year old a burdensome schedule… It’s because outside of fencing and modeling, Adrien plans to spend his time planning out which sections of the city he’s going to take his anger out on that night.
Gabriel never forgot his roots as the son of a fry-cook, and occasionally tries to cook comfort food (NOT PANCAKES) for Adrien, who insists he’s not hungry or that junk is bad for his skin/weight, which has Gavriel worried about Adrien developing body dysphoria and eating disorders… These worries are put to rest when he finds out Adrien has suddenly developed a sweet tooth for baked goods. Therefore he has no qualms about his son frequenting the local bakery so often because a growing boy needs to eat and a treat is good for the spirit.
He wishes he could be more honest with Adrien, but he knows that it would destroy his son if he ever found out that the sickness that took his mother’s life was caused by his creation… He’s also not sure what kind of trauma Adrien would have to the fact he’s not human.
Gabriel also doesn’t want Adrien in danger. Gabriel wants to create a better world for his son to live in, a world where he and everyone else can be free! Where people can throve without stepping over others, and the poor don’t have to suffer. Where people have rights to love freely and express opinions without fear. A world where people help one another.
Gabriel would never use the rings to control Adrien, instead, he keeps them locked away in a safe, and plans to give them to Adrien someday when he is an adult and less likrly to misplace them because if they were to fall into the wrong hands, Gabriel shudders to think of what would become of Adrien.
Audrey still has a low key crush on Gabriel which makes him cringe but he still acts polite to keep up working relations, and he also pities his friend Andre, trapped in a one-sided marriage and bullied by his daughter and his wife.

Pencil/2D Animation Resources Masterpost
5/10/24:
Hello, I broke into my old account so I could make a little masterpost of resources I come across for learning pencil/2D animation. (Free or affordable classes, places to get tools, videos to give insider insight, etc.) I may not be able to get everything included, so if you think of something, you can reach out and suggest things to add! I will be updating this over time, with notes on when it was last recently updated. And maybe I'll end up giving the old blog a refresh too. I likely won't be making new masterposts outside of this one any time soon, nor updating any old ones. It's been SEVERAL years, and the internet is a different place. I would assume most of the old links are out of date by now, unfortunately. I hope that this list is helpful to you as well, and if I'm incorrect in anything I list, I'm learning too! So please be patient with me and feel free to reach out with a correction. It's not finished yet, but Tumblr deletes my posts before I finish them, so I'm starting with posting the skeleton and slowly updating this)
Find a Community to Learn From!
(recommended groups to lurk/join/make connections and ask questions)
What Tools Do I Need?
PDF Guide to Animation Desks, as written by David Nethry
(next line)
Where Do I Get Tools?
(Places where you can buy art supplies, software, etc)
Cartoon Supplies
(Online seller who carries Ingram Bond paper, lightboxes, storyboard pads, blank cels, etc. See also: Lightfoot LTD, which is identical in every way to Cartoon Supplies and for the life of me I'm not sure the difference, though both are equally recommended along side each other.)
Jet Pens
(Ah... I love window-shopping this site. If you love stationary like I do, you'll be on this site for hours adding things to your cart... and inevitably removing them because it's not feasible to spend hundreds on pens and sticky-note pads.)
Dickblick
(I've found they have good prices on name brands, but I haven't purchased from them yet. Often, I'm too overwhelmed by all the choices.)
Improve Your Art/Learn the Basics!
(anatomy classes, starter tools, etc)
Aaron Blaise (Co-Director of Brother Bear)'s Online Classes
He runs very good deals on the classes occasional, but you can also do a year's access to all classes and keep what you download, which is very useful! They're short, quick lessons, and tend to veer into more "helpful tips" than teaching, from what I've personally noticed, but it's well worth the price if you get them at a good deal!
Inside Look at the Industry -- aka: the Special Features:
(behind the scenes stuff, etc)
Books are more useful than you might think!
(Richard Williams Animator's Survival Toolkit, etc) (check out gently used copies of these books on Thriftbooks for a good deal!)
Nifty Free Resources
(Things like height charts, references, color wheels, blog posts, videos, etc)
What Artists Can Learn From Aladdin's Incredible Color by J. Holt [VIDEO]
(spacing for formatting)
The Art of Color Theory: Guide for Animators, Designers, and Artists (Animator Artist Life)
(space for formatting)
Free software!
GIMP
(A classic, GIMP is an old friend of mine. The first software I downloaded for art, I used to use it almost entirely to create animated GIFs for the Warrior Cat forums. Ah, how time has passed. Nowadays I can't even remember how to animate a GIF on there, but such is life. I still use it to this day for digital art, even having Corel Painter. Before GIMP, I animated the old fashioned way -- MS paint and Windows Movie Maker. With determination, I scripted and animated a handful of Warrior Cat characters frame by frame. Each frame of Hollyleaf or whoever it was blinking was the likely source of death for our old computer, may she rest in peace.)
Storyboarder
(Storyboarder is a free software with which you can use to create professional and clean storyboards. It also provides printable storyboard templates so you can do you work traditionally and re-upload it easily into the software! It also works with Wacom tablets. Check it out! It's actually super cool.)
Pencil 2D
(A free, open source software. Simplistic design, switch between raster and vector, and best of all, again, it's free. I haven't used this one much yet, but I've seen it positively talked about by many! I'll update with more research when I have the chance.)
Krita
(I haven't used this one yet, so I can't speak on it either! But it's going on the list so I can come back and research it later. My poor laptop is not going to handle this many downloads lol.)
OpenToonz
(I also haven't tried this, but see above, haha.)
Blender - Grease Pencil
(Blender is well known for 3D animation, but they added a 2D feature called Grease Pencil as well.)
WriterDuet
(Free for up to 3 projects, very simple, but upgrades to a $10 a month plan, which is... eh, I'll keep my Scrivener for now. I used to write scripts in Microsoft Word or the Notepad on PC back in the day, I don't think I personally need the fancy features.)
Trelby
(A free screenwriting software, very basic and simple, good for beginners.)
Keep an eye out for
(Humblebundle occasionally does software deals -- a good art bundle at a discount can give you an easy start!)

From Sci-Fi to Reality: The Potential for Real-Life Mecha Inspired by Gundam!
I've watched mecha anime, the seriesVoltes V,Robotech, Video Senshi Laserion. In fact the great experience is watching Gundam anime.
In recent years, advances in robotics, artificial intelligence, and engineering have brought the idea of real-life mecha closer to reality. Inspired by iconic series like Gundam, researchers and engineers are exploring the possibilities of creating large, human-piloted robots. While we may not have fully functional Gundams yet, the progress made so far is promising. Let's delve into the current developments and the potential future of real mecha.
It happened during 2018
In Japan, engineer Masaaki Nagumo always dreamed of climbing into his very own Mobile Suit Gundam mecha. As an adult, he finally made that dream a reality.
Photos below:Sakakibara Kikai
Tumblr media
He created the 28-foot-tall, 7-tonne-heavy LW-Mononofu robot as a project for his employer, industrial machinery maker Sakakibara Kikai, in Japan’s  Gunma Prefecture. The metal colossus took six years to finish, and is probably the world’s largest anime-inspired robot that you can actually ride in and control. It can move its arms and fingers, turn its upper body, and walk forward and backward at a snail-like speed of 1km/hour. As any respectable mecha, it also has a weapon – a metal gun that fires sponge balls at a speed of 87 mph.T
The LW Mononofu can be powered by both a 200-volt AC electricity source and a 24-volt DC battery. Its cockpit features levers, pedals and buttons that the rider can use to control the movements of the robot, as well as monitors showing live footage shot by  cameras installed at five points on its gigantic body.
its only con is that it can't leave the hangar it was built in, because it is higher than the large door. It has to be dismantled to be taken out…
Despit this the enthuthiasts are determined to make the Giant mecha a real.
Well, thanks to the japanese company called Tsubame Industry, that dream is nearly becoming reality. Well, if we can afford paying it, of course. The small Japanese startup recently showcased its newest product, dubbed ‘ARCHAX’, a pilotable robot inspired by Japanese mecha culture. Standing a whopping 4.5 meters tall and weighing around 3.5 tons, this real-life mecha is powered by a 300V battery and can switch from a standing mode to drivable mode, attaining a top speed of 10 kilometers per hour.
Nonetheless,if someone desires to undergo the thrilling journey with the ARCHAX, he has to pay an estimated 400 million yen ($2.75 million) for one.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's name is inspired by that of the flying dinosaur Archeopteryx – was recently showcased in a series of videos posted by Tsubame Industry, and the Japanese startup announced that a working version will be presented at the Japan Mobility Show 2023 (formerly the  Tokyo Motor Show) in November. As for when the mecha will hit the market, a Tsubame spokesperson said that it is expected to be available in about a year. However, considering the high price tag, the company is targeting wealthy foreign billionaires as potential clients.
Being made of iron and aluminum alloy, while the outer shell consists mainly of FRP (fiber-reinforced plastic). Although the head appears to feature a large  camera, it is only for show. In reality, the pilot maneuvering the ARCHAX will have footage captured by 26 different  cameras mounted all over the mecha fed into a number of monitors inside the cockpit. The control panel is reportedly similar to that of construction machinery, consisting of two joysticks, a number of pedals, and a touchscreen. Interestingly, the ARCHAX can also be remote-operated.
This mecha can move at a speed of 2 km/h, and in drive mode that speed is increased to 10 km/h. It’s not exactly soaring through the air like in video games, but it’s better than just standing still. It can tilt forward a maximum of 20 degrees in stand-up mode and 30 degrees in drive mode, to ensure that it doesn’t fall over. If these values are exceeded, the system shuts down to prevent serious accidents. The mecha is subject to risk assessment in accordance with the safety regulations of construction machinery and robots. His mechanical arms have 5 movable fingers, and it can grab a variety of things, still the weight of them is limited to 15 kilograms, for safety reasons. Trying to lift something heavy could cause the mecha to topple, putting the pilot at risk and damaging it.
Conclusion
The journey from science fiction to reality is a challenging but exciting path. While we may not see fully operational Gundams patrolling our cities in the immediate future, the advancements in robotics, AI, and engineering are bringing us closer to realizing the dream of real-life mecha. The fusion of technology and imagination continues to push the boundaries of what is possible, making the future of mecha an exhilarating topic to watch.

The whole paying for resources or making resources free is giving spoiled. If you don't want to pay then just rp without a gif. People are forgetting that this is people's time and money spent making these gifs and they are free to do with it what they want. Most gif makers are paying for photoshop and paying for all kinds of things to actually obtain downloads. There are many free resources teaching people how to gif, where to download "free" versions of photoshop, etc. Learn just like all the other gif makers if you think there is a gap for underused fcs. Like rping, gifing is a hobby not a jobby.
gif making and rping are very different types hobbies in my opinion, anon. i view gif making like crafting in a way, which people have made money as a hobby by selling things through like etsy and other little shops. rping is not really crafting in that same sense in that we don't expect (as much as i wish i could) getting paid to write replies.
but i see where you're coming from. photoshop and adobe aren't exactly cheap (i have it myself for my own job) and i don't know much else about the gif making and downloading videos process other than i'm sure it costs a few more dollars for some programs. there's also the assumption that everyone has time and access to make gifs themselves. even the "free" versions of photoshop are limited in what it can do and i'm not sure how much editing one can do with animations or videos in those versions compared to having the full package.
as i've said, i don't mind if gif makers want to charge for their gif packs and i don't mind paying for them. i've bought a couple of private commissions from gif makers. i like supporting content creators because i know it takes a lot of time and effort to create those gifs and edit them with recoloring and sharpening and whatnot. and doing that for 100-200+ gifs is a lot of hours.
and yeah, there's also the option of not using gifs if a character has an underused fc. i have underused fcs with barely any recent resources so i've gone that route too.
i'm not bashing or judging gif makers for charging for gifs that they've put time, effort, and money into creating to get some back. although i do think that it is worth a conversation in the rpc about gif makers charging hefty prices specifically for gif packs of underused fcoc. it's not a matter of spoiled, it's recognizing that it makes improving diversity through characters in the rpc very difficult by putting those underused resources behind a paywall that not everyone can afford to get through.

honestly, i wanted to avoid the topic of AI art on my blog, mostly because most of the time if you show any hint of negativity towards it people immediately assume you've never had a thought in your life (unsurprising considering the average tumblr user, but im not your average tumblr user), but when it comes to vocaloid, a subculture i love very much, i honestly cannot remain silent. the relationship between producers, sound engineers, lyrics writers, video makers to artists and animators cannot be understated. its what has kept the scene alive and constantly evolving for so long.
what happens when you break the chain even a little and encourage grifters to come and spam low effort generations (and it cannot be disputed that its low effort if the guy is shitting out an impossible amount every day)? that thoroughline between creatives breaks.
i think its fine if people make AI art for their videos. i don't care. i care actually but i know full well most people just want a visual for their music and probably can't afford it or don't have the time to scour piapro for something.... though it'd be dishonest if i didn't just say "why would you tho when getting art from piapro and generating art reaches the same result". im against it BECAUSE things like piapro exist, where you have hundreds of thousands of free images you can use specifically for your music video!!!! why ignore that? and these people are not generating it themselves anyway. theyre getting it from a slop salesman.
in its current state, i think the technology is more abusive than its worth.

How can teachers access affordable STEAM education resources?
Tumblr media
In today’s rapidly evolving world, the need for innovative educational approaches has never been more important. As schools, educators, and parents continue to emphasize the importance of preparing students for the future, hands-on learning in the realm of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) has emerged as a crucial method. It allows students to engage actively, experiment, and apply their knowledge in real-world contexts. However, selecting the right STEAM education resources to foster this type of learning can be a challenge. So, what are the most effective STEAM education resources for hands-on learning?
1. STEAM Kits and Project-Based Learning Tools
Hands-on kits designed for STEAM education resources can be invaluable for both students and teachers. These kits often include all the necessary materials and instructions to help students explore complex concepts in a tangible way. For example, robotics kits, such as those offered by LEGO Mindstorms or VEX Robotics, allow students to build and program robots, helping them understand coding, engineering, and problem-solving.
Other popular kits include:
LittleBits: These electronic building blocks make it easy to create circuits, gadgets, and interactive projects.
Snap Circuits: A fun way to explore electronics through snap-together parts that help students create simple electrical circuits.
Makey Makey: A kit that turns everyday objects into touchpads, allowing students to experiment with circuits and interactive projects.
These kits are designed to offer experiential learning, making them an effective way for students to understand abstract concepts in a practical, memorable manner.
2. Online Platforms and Interactive Tools
Digital STEAM education resources are equally important for hands-on learning, particularly in today’s technology-driven world. Platforms like Scratch and Tynker introduce coding through interactive and game-like environments, where students can design their own animations, stories, and even games. This fosters creativity while teaching valuable skills in coding and problem-solving.
Scratch: A visual programming language designed for younger learners that makes learning coding fun and intuitive.
Tynker: Offers coding challenges and projects, allowing students to create interactive games, apps, and websites.
For older students or those with more advanced interests, platforms like Arduino and Raspberry Pi provide the tools needed to create their own computers, sensors, and even robots. These platforms promote real-world application of computer science, programming, and engineering principles.
3. STEAM Apps for Mobile Devices
In the age of smartphones and tablets, apps can be an engaging and interactive way to enhance hands-on STEAM learning. There are a multitude of apps designed to foster creativity, problem-solving, and engineering skills.
Tinkercad: A 3D design and printing tool that allows students to create 3D models, perfect for teaching engineering and design principles.
Bloxels: An app that lets students design, build, and play their own video games, combining both arts and technology in one platform.
Osmo: An interactive platform that bridges physical and digital learning with hands-on activities in math, coding, and creative arts.
These apps are designed to offer interactive, engaging experiences that bring STEAM subjects to life, making them accessible anywhere and anytime.
4. STEAM Workshops and Camps
While individual tools and resources are essential, structured learning environments such as workshops and camps provide students with the opportunity to engage with peers and mentors, deepening their understanding through collaborative projects. Makers’ Muse STEAM education resources, such as workshops, bring students together for hands-on, live projects that encourage critical thinking and problem-solving. These environments promote teamwork, leadership, and creativity, offering a well-rounded approach to STEAM education.
Codeacademy Workshops: Coding-focused camps and workshops offer students practical experience and expert guidance, helping them bring their programming skills to life.
Summer STEM Camps: These camps focus on engaging activities that cover all aspects of STEAM, from coding to engineering challenges.
5. Digital Fabrication Tools
Modern fabrication technologies have transformed the way students approach hands-on learning in STEAM education resources. 3D printing and laser cutting technologies, for example, provide a platform for students to design and create real-world objects. Using 3D printers, students can visualize their engineering ideas and prototypes, which helps them learn about design thinking and iteration.
MakerBot and Ultimaker are leading 3D printer brands often used in educational settings.
Laser cutters can turn digital designs into physical models, helping students learn about precision, material properties, and product prototyping.
These tools allow students to take their ideas from the digital realm to tangible, real-world products, bridging the gap between theory and practice.
6. Books and Educational Resources
Books that encourage hands-on STEAM education resources can be a great tool for independent or classroom learning. Titles such as “The Art of Tinkering” and “STEAM Kids” provide a variety of fun and educational projects that allow students to dive into the creative and scientific aspects of STEAM. Additionally, many of these books come with detailed instructions, fostering a deeper understanding of the subject matter.
7. Collaborative Platforms for STEAM Learning
Finally, collaboration is key in today’s learning environment. Platforms like Google Classroom, Edmodo, and Flipgrid enable students to share their projects, collaborate on ideas, and receive feedback from peers and teachers. These platforms foster communication, critical thinking, and creativity, all of which are essential to STEAM education.
Get started with hands-on STEAM learning today!
STEAM education is all about fostering creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving. The best STEAM education resources for hands-on learning are those that actively engage students in creating, building, and experimenting. From kits and platforms to workshops and apps, there are countless ways to incorporate hands-on STEAM learning into the classroom. By using these resources, educators and parents can ensure that students are not just passive recipients of knowledge, but active participants in shaping their own learning experiences.
