This is a performance and monologue by Jean Katambayi for the summer exhibition 'A Temporary Futures Institute' at the Museum of Contemporary Art Antwerp (April-September 2017).

The Congolese artist touches on many themes that are relevant to imagining futures. He explains what ‘Inertia’ is and what the effect of ‘work’ is and also how much ‘transformation' is needed. He finishes by presenting ‘the formula of life’ which according to him must be an ‘open’ formula that should not be closed. He believes the idea is applicable to the whole world but he also points out the specificity of the state of affairs in his own country. He states: ‘We all have the same problems, but they can be expressed in many different ways.’
