Tahu tak apa beza Klopp dengan Pep?
Tumblr media
Ben Davies pulak belum ready untuk first team. Pep? Baru Rodri sorang cedera dah mati akal. Senang cakap Pep tak boleh buat apa tanpa kuasa wang. Man City kalau tanpa 115 charges mereka mungkin hanya sebuah pasukan biasa biasa sahaja. Experience the awe-inspiring marvel of India's first and maiden underwater metro rail in Kolkata, a groundbreaking addition to the city's transportation network. Spanning 32 kilometers from Teghoria (Haldiram) to Howrah Maidan and comprising 17 stations, the East-West Metro Line or Kolkata Metro Line 2 seamlessly connects Kolkata and Howrah, and hosts the underwater section where the metro train will traverse beneath the Hooghly River. This metro route also connects Sealdah and Howrah, two of Kolkata's busiest railway stations, playing a crucial role in ensuring efficient transportation within the city. Serving as vital hubs for commuters traveling within Kolkata and beyond, Sealdah and Howrah stations witness a constant influx of passengers daily. The crown jewel of this metro line is the Howrah Maidan-Esplanade section, aptly named the East-West Tunnel. Stretching across 10.8 kilometers, a significant portion of this stretch traverses a staggering 520 meters beneath the Hooghly River, marking the presence of the largest underwater river tunnel in India. Specifically designed for metro rail service, this tunnel boasts dimensions of 5.5 meters in width and descends to a depth of 30 meters below ground level. Completed with precision in 2021, it stands as a vital artery of the East West Metro Line, meticulously engineered by the Kolkata Metro Rail Corporation and constructed by Afcons Infrastructure.

AFCON: Iwobi Pulls Down Instagram Pictures Amid Online Troll
Tumblr media
Super Eagles midfielder, Alex Iwobi, has deleted all pictures on his Instagram page.
This comes after Nigeria’s loss to Ivory Coast in the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), on Sunday.
The Nigerian team was defeated 2-1 by the host country, ending the team’s dream of a fourth continental trophy.
Hours after the encounter, Iwobi, who has been a subject of criticism from fans, deleted all photos on his Instagram page.
This was after fans abused him in the comment section of the pictures.
The Fulham midfielder featured for 79 minutes in the final as the Super Eagles failed to add to their three AFCON titles.
Iwobi left only one video post on his account.
Further checks revealed that he also disabled the comment section of the post for fear of being bullied.
Iwobi began his career at Arsenal, making 149 appearances and scoring fifteen goals.
He won the FA Cup in 2017, and scored in the 2019 UEFA Europa League final as well.
In August 2019, he transferred to Everton for an initial £28 million fee.
Iwobi represented England up to under-18 level.
He made his senior international debut for Nigeria in October 2015, and was part of their squads at the FIFA World Cup in 2018 and the Africa Cup of Nations in 2019, 2021 and 2023, finishing third at the 2019 tournament.

for the mo/robbo plot… hear me out
so imagine that when robbo first came to liverpool- he has feelings for mo but he backs off because it seems that mo has feelings for dejan- which they do, but they never make it official. like they were VERY close but never got together.
when dejan left- mo was very sad. inconsolable. robbos there for him every step of the way and helps Mo get out of the depressive shell he became. especially after the afcon 2021 final.
mo develops feelings for robbo but he doesn’t want robbo to think that he’s falling for him as a rebound, and robbo doesn’t wanna take advantage of mos vulnerability- so their feelings slowly rise over the years until one night, they’re playing against dejan and his new club lyon in a cl night. mos left in tears after a interaction with dejan- it made mo realize it was time to move on.
and so he does- letting the feelings for robbo spill out during the celebrations of egypts 8th afcon 2025 win! i’ll let you take that as you wish to interpret
ok yeah, let’s do this!

based on my research (see below) harry kane will never win a major trophy unless he somewhat manages to win one with bayern this season, which at this point seems unlikely. statistics show that the most recent players who have won at least one major trophy after leaving tottenham, have done so the year or the year after they left the club:
serge aurier (2017-2021): afcon trophy in 2024 juan foyth (2017-2021): europa league trophy in 2021 christian eriksen (2013-2020): serie a trophy in 2021

BOOK FREVIEW: THE AFRICA CUP OF NATIONS by Ben Jackson (2024)
An "underappreciated tournament" that's happening right now, with selected Africa Cup Of Nations (AFCON for short) matches being shown live on BBC 3 (and elsewhere).
Ben Jackson's colourful book on AFCON is a more than helpful guide to the competitions history, featuring teams like Cameroon (winners in 2021) who really came to prominence at World Cups in the 1990s. Roger Milla, anyone?
First held in 1957 in Sudan (also the winners), 2023 hosts, Ivory Coast, are overdue an outright win, 1984 being their first as AFCON champs.
AFCON is every 2 years, with 2025's tournament being held in Morocco. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) being the organising body. Egypt, seven-times-winners seem the team to beat, but have in fact just been knocked out in 'Round Of 16' after a draw and pens.
So, out 1 January, 2024; a new paperback from PITCH, a first for Ben Jackson, his wife, Sophie, his greatest supporter! This publication should also bring him plenty of new fans!!
Rating: 8/10

DR Congo see off Egypt in nervy AFCON round of 16 game
Tumblr media
Goalkeeper Lionel Mpasi scored the 18th penalty of a nerve-shredding shoot-out as DR Congo produced the latest shock at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations by knocking seven-time champions Egypt out to reach the quarter-finals following a 1-1 draw after extra time. DR Congo went ahead for the first time at the finals when Meschack Elia nodded in Yoane Wissa's cross to put the team ranked 67th in the world on course for the latest surprise result at a tournament which has been illuminated by underdog success in Ivory Coast. Their lead lasted nine minutes before Mostafa Mohamed converted a penalty on the stroke of half-time after Ahmed Hegazi was caught by a flailing arm from Dylan Batubinsika. Egypt finished with 10 men after left-back Mohamed Hamdy was shown a second yellow card seven minutes into extra time for a mistimed lunge on Simon Banza. And, after Pharaohs keeper Gabaski had clipped the top of the crossbar in the ninth round of the shoot-out, Mpasi stepped up to win it 8-7 on penalties. In the absence of injured captain Mohamed Salah, Rui Vitoria's team ended the tournament winless and suffered the same fate as they did in the 2021 final, when they were beaten on penalties by Senegal. An unmarked Hegazi headed an early first-half chance over from seven yards out and substitute Mahmoud Hamada lost his footing from a presentable opportunity late in normal time, but the Leopards were worthy winners and could have gone ahead sooner had the lively Elia not lashed an effort over in the third minute. The shoot-out saw both sides miss from their second attempts, with Mohamed side-footing wide of the right-hand upright and Arthur Masuaku immediately scooping the ball over the crossbar for the Central Africans. But Mpasi kept his composure to slot into the top right-hand corner against Gabaski, who had been a penalty-saving specialist in Egypt's run to the final in Cameroon two years ago. DR Congo will play Guinea in the quarter-finals at Abidjan's Alassane Ouattara Stadium on Friday (20:00 GMT) after the Syli National beat Equatorial Guinea 1-0 earlier on Sunday. THE HISTORY AND EVOLUTION OF THE AFRICA CUP OF NATIONS
Tumblr media
By: Engr. Nego   Unleashing the passion and talent of Africa on the world stage - The Africa Cup of Nations, also known as AFCON, is the most prestigious international football tournament in Africa. It is organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and features the top national teams from the continent. The tournament has a rich history dating back to 1957 and is held every two years, with the exception of 2021 when it was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Africa Cup of Nations is a highly anticipated event that showcases the best of African football and brings together nations in a spirit of competition and unity. The history of the Africa Cup of Nations dates back to 1956 when the CAF was formed. The first edition of the tournament was held in Sudan in 1957, with only three teams participating – Egypt, Sudan, and Ethiopia. Egypt emerged as the first champions, defeating Sudan 4-0 in the final. The tournament was initially known as the African Cup of Nations, but it was later changed to the Africa Cup of Nations in 1968.   In the early years, the Africa Cup of Nations was not as popular as it is today. The tournament faced several challenges, including political instability and lack of funding. As a result, it was not held regularly, with some editions being canceled or postponed. However, in the 1970s, the tournament gained more recognition and started to attract more teams. By 1980, the number of participating teams had increased to eight, and the tournament was held every two years.   The 1990s marked a significant turning point for the Africa Cup of Nations. The tournament was expanded to include 12 teams, and it was held every two years in odd-numbered years to avoid clashing with the FIFA World Cup. This change brought more attention to the tournament, and it started to gain a global audience. The 1994 edition, held in Tunisia, was the first to be broadcasted live on television, further increasing its popularity.   In 1996, the Africa Cup of Nations underwent another major change. The tournament was expanded to include 16 teams, and it was held every two years in even-numbered years. This change was made to align with the UEFA European Championship, which is also held in even-numbered years. The expansion of the tournament also meant that more countries could participate, giving smaller nations a chance to showcase their football talent on a bigger stage.   The Africa Cup of Nations continued to grow in popularity and prestige in the 2000s. The tournament was now being broadcasted to a global audience, and it attracted top African players who were playing in top European leagues. This led to an increase in the quality of football being played, making the tournament more competitive and exciting for fans. The 2010 edition, held in Angola, was the first to be hosted by a country outside of the CAF's traditional regions of North and West Africa.   In 2013, the Africa Cup of Nations underwent another significant change. The tournament was moved from odd-numbered years to even-numbered years to avoid clashing with the FIFA World Cup and UEFA European Championship. This change also meant that the tournament would be held every four years, similar to the World Cup and European Championship. The 2019 edition, held in Egypt, was the first to be held in the summer instead of the traditional January/February period.   In conclusion, the Africa Cup of Nations has come a long way since its inception in 1957. From only three teams participating in the first edition to 24 teams in the 2019 edition, the tournament has evolved into a highly anticipated event that showcases the best of African football. With its rich history and continuous evolution, the Africa Cup of Nations will continue to be a significant event in the world of football for years to come. Read the full article

Bitch come to Africa and see if you can walk in the streets without passing out let alone run for 90+ min in June/July.
They really think they're the main character and we have to do everything like them as if they're the norm
i remember back in 2021 some people were calling for afcon to be cancelled because to them it wasn't as important as the european leagues 😭 like for some african national teams this is the only major tournament their country qualifies for or is able to win so let them have this one thing at least damn
i get not caring about a tournament because your country doesn't play in it, same way idc about copa america or the asian cup, but going as far as being ignorant and calling the tournament unimportant or complaining about it is crazy, because if it was that unimportant im sure the star players would choose to stay at their clubs
