Jaylah’s outfit is very grunge-street with a leather rock aesthetic. She probably would be content shopping online or at hot topic if her sister Tamryn would let her. Hardly never will you see her wearing a dress or skirt unless it’s a fancy occasion, mostly because she’s always ready to fight and finds those sort of things distracting. Though she loves to wear makeup and will often wear a heel to not look so short next to her taller sibling… her clothes reads that she is anything but a girly-girl. If the outfit makes her comfortable with her loose tanks and flannels or appear hard with her accessories and ripped jeans, then she will wear it. The colors in her closet are 75% black as Jaylah likes to have her red hair/lips stand out, any other color is in the warmer earthy tones.

Seeing @blairimani all over social media for her excellent Star Trek cosplay is reminding me how much I love Star Trek myself. Here is the cosplay that forced me to learn how to block out my massive eyebrows and to consider the aesthetic of fitting dreads under a hijab. I’ve been looking at aesthetic photos and thinking back on various moodboards that I’ve made and seen and it got me wondering about what people associate with each one. Like, Jim is fairly the same across the board but Scotty is a bit across the board in terms of colors
