Once upon a time this was the hunting ground of a Native American man called Indian George. Now all I know about him is his headstone is in the Lone Pine Cemetery right across the street from this stream named for him. The wishing tree might just be the single best part of my neighborhood. When I moved in the wishes were the only leaves on the tree, but now spring has sprung. From the street it looks like any old tree, but from the sidewalk you can see the wishes. Off in the distance across the river you'll see a photo of OHSU. Take a good look now, because I won't be back for a whole month!!! The back is pretty well healed, and I've done well enough with my physical therapy that a) I only have to come once a month now, and b) I get to start on the return to run program a whole month early!!!! Friday night, after dragon boat practice, the city looked stunning. The water may look calm, but Friday's practice was the scariest time I've spent on the river so far because of the wind. The wind nearly pushed us into the Tillikum Crossing at one point.
