Top 5 Teachers In The World
Andria Zafirakou has been working on three hours' rest a night for quite a long time, yet looks brilliant. "It's adrenaline, it's fervor, it's beginning and end." Nominated by present and previous associates for the Varkey Foundation's yearly Global Teacher prize, named the Nobel for instructing, a month ago Zafirakou took in she had been shortlisted from a field of in excess of 30,000 passages. She flew out to Dubai a week ago to join nine different finalists from everywhere throughout the world for a ritzy honors service facilitated by Trevor Noah, and arrived home on Wednesday the champ of the $1m prize. The chosen people were made a decision on, in addition to other things, the advancement made by students, accomplishments outside the classroom and in helping kids progress toward becoming "worldwide residents".

Government officials and dignitaries, the media and 100 of her schoolchildren were holding up to welcome her at Heathrow, from where she was whisked directly to parliament to meet Theresa May. The head administrator and education secretary's acclaim for expressions of the human experience and materials teacher couldn't have been more sumptuous; she is, pronounced Damian Hinds, "genuinely moving".
Zafirakou still hasn't made it home to Brent, north-west London, when we meet soon thereafter. The 39-year-old has the entranced demeanor of a lady who scarcely perceives herself as she gazes at her photograph on the front of London's Evening Standard. "My entire life has been changed," she snickers energetically. In the midst of all the wonderment of her tall tale week, be that as it may, there is one evident incongruity. Had Zafirakou organized the objectives the administration sets for her calling, and concentrated every one of her energies on its official execution measures, she could never have been considered for the honor. She won, rather, by being the sort of teacher our education framework effectively disheartens.
Zafirakou has spent her 12-year profession at Alperton Community auxiliary school in Brent, training the absolute most impeded, ethnically different kids in the nation. She associates most with us proved unable "have an idea" about the profundity of hardship she finds in her classroom consistently. "This is the thing that hardship resembles. Hardship is the point at which you have six or seven separate families living in one house, dozing one family to a room, sharing one restroom and pivoting the utilization of the kitchen. I had a young lady who was truanting in my class, so I explored and discovered it was on the grounds that she needed to go home amid the center of my exercise and cook for her family since that was their opening on the rota." Children routinely touch base at school ravenous and messy – "I've placed garments in the clothes washer for the children, and we give a free breakfast to each kid" – while group viciousness frequents the school doors.
These are the simple conditions that put such huge numbers of individuals off educating, yet when I inquire as to whether she wouldn't rather show precise, roused understudies, she looks delighted. "Bor-ing! No, I adore attempting to make sense of: how might I get in to that tyke? How might I motivate them to confide in me and how might I encourage them? Endeavoring to make sense of, right, OK, that didn't work, what do I have to attempt now? I adore that."

Keeping that in mind, Zafirakou encouraged herself expresses in a large number of the 35 dialects talked by her understudies. She set up a female cricket club for young ladies from preservationist confidence foundations, and rescheduled after-school clubs, so kids troubled with local obligations all week could go to at ends of the week. She utilizes craftsmanship to open students' inventiveness and certainty, visits their homes to comprehend their family lives, and actually escorts them off the school premises on to transports by the day's end, to shield them from brutality. Her school shows care, offers yoga classes, runs a boxing club, and is positioned in the best 1 to 5% of all schools in the UK for enhancing youngsters' accomplishment.
This methodology is the inverse of the predominant educational astuteness, broadly spearheaded by Mossbourne Academy in Hackney, east London, that what kids like those in Zafirakou's class require isn't senseless thoughts regarding opportunity and inventiveness, however antiquated structure, order and scholastic meticulousness. When clergymen saw Mossbourne's extreme administration get youngsters from committee bequests into Oxbridge, lawmakers in all gatherings concluded that the genuine issue wasn't neediness, yet "destitution of desires". This consenus permitted Michael Gove to rework the national educational modules in his own youth's world class tuition based school picture, discarding subjects, for example, show for Latin and language structure, all for the sake of libertarianism. On the off chance that the Mossbourne display works, for what reason does Zafirakou adopt such a profoundly extraordinary strategy?
"In what capacity will those youngsters manage the psychological wellness issues that they will get from that framework? It resembles a transport line of pressure," she challenges. "How are those kids going to have the capacity to feed themselves, and discover methods for giving their tensions a chance to out, or simply being cheerful, being imaginative – mingling and building aptitudes of flexibility or diligence?" Brent has schools demonstrated on Mossbourne, she says, "and guardians are pulling back their kids and placing them into our school".
To organize extracurricular clubs and peaceful consideration would strike a few educationalists as a well-implied however misinformed damage to kids consummately fit for scholarly brilliance, if just they were pushed rather than disparaged.
"I have no issue with expecting the equivalent from these children as we do of children from Eton. Don't sweat it. Be that as it may, did these children have a breakfast toward the beginning of the day? Did these children watch their mum and father whipping one another? So for me, a win for a portion of our kids is: 'He came into school, goodness my God, he came into school.' It's incredible to state each tyke ought to have a similar potential, yet you have to know the individual foundation and the lives of your kids, and how unique and complex they are."
Zafirakou takes awesome exemption to the famous view that multiculturalism is, best case scenario a major issue, even from a pessimistic standpoint, a hazardously fizzled examination, and that outsider kids will never coordinate if schools suit their diverse social characters. "When they come into this gigantic, scaring building, in the event that you say to them 'namaste' or 'vanakkam', you see their faces illuminate. It implies that you get them, that you're occupied with them, that you are inviting them, and that you value their character, their experience – and they shine. At that point what occurs there, you have finish and articulate commitment from the guardians. They will come in at whatever point you need them. We have a 95% least turnout for guardians' nights."
She applies a similar standard to her exercises, acquainting worker students with the colossal craft of their introduction to the world nation, instead of to the white European works of art Gove needed each tyke to examine. "Children won't draw in with that," she says essentially. "So most importantly, interface them with their personality, their very own history, their very own way of life. Demonstrate to them what it's about and how you can praise it. At that point you have a feeling of pride. When you have that pride, at that point you can state: 'This is the thing that occurred in the Renaissance'; 'This is impressionism'."
As the administration needs schools to perform best in Stem subjects (science, innovation, designing and maths), and has avoided a few expressions subjects from the class tables, a considerable measure of schools have surrendered showing human expressions inside and out. At the point when spending plans are being cut, to burn through cash showing GCSE dramatization, say, could be viewed as a superfluous excess. Zarifakou's exhausted grin recommends this isn't the first run through this has been put to her.

"Is it accurate to say that it isn't amusing that in the event that you go to a non-public school, the guardians won't endure their kids not doing a craftsmanship, not taking up a melodic instrument, since they see that it is so vital to be a youngster that has numerous aptitudes and these subjects fabricate fundamental abilities? They enable youngsters to convey. They enable them to build up their very own characters. They help to truly move them and remove them from their usual ranges of familiarity, since they must tackle issues with these subjects. So the social abilities you develop with them, having the capacity to discuss your work certainly, having the capacity to assess a bit of work, having the capacity to discuss a pretend and totally separate a pretend – they are fundamental abilities. They are completely fundamental abilities that each tyke needs."
Zarifakou dependably knew she would be a craftsmanship teacher. "It wasn't even a decision. Indeed, even from when I was at grade school my folks used to get objections from my teachers saying: 'She's simply so bossy, she instructs us.' It was a business. I just knew." Born in north-west London to Greek-Cypriot guardians, and state-instructed in Brent and Camden, she was elevated to appointee head of workmanship inside a year at Alperton, and is presently relate agent school head. Hitched to a health specialist, with two girls matured 7 and 9, she is grinding away every morning by 7.30am, leaves at 5.30pm if fortunate, frequently significantly later, and begins work again at home once the children are sleeping. "I don't stare at the TV. I absolutely never even go into my front room. Indeed, even in my lunch, I'm working. The main time I break is the point at which I'm in my bed."
I disclose to her that while she was away in Dubai, a write about teachers' compensation was distributed. The normal teacher acquires ÂŁ17.70 60 minutes. "It's just plain obvious, that is sickening," she says with feeling. When I ask what she would change on the off chance that she

Who is this training for?
Anyone with an interest in sharing yoga with children and teens within an educational, social, healthcare or home environment. We appreciate that our teacher trainees have a range of valuable experiences, whether you’re an educational professional, health coach, yoga teacher, child psychologist, therapist, health care professional, social worker, parent or a curious yogi, we want YOU to join our trainings to share your insights and learn how to use your prior experiences to share the principles and practices of yoga with children across the Globe
The full 95-hour Yoga Alliance Registered Children’s Yoga Teacher Training Program is created for those teachers who want to enhance children’s lives through the practice of Yoga. This training is designed to fit all schedules and professions, whether you are a school teacher looking for ways to activate learning opportunities in the classroom, a Yoga teacher who wants to expand your expertise or a caregiver with a commitment to your craft. All that is needed is a passion for Yoga with a minimum of one years dedicated practice and a desire to make a positive difference in the lives of our children (and have a lot of fun!).
Is this class only for current yoga instructors?
It is not required that you are an RYT200, but if you are, at the completion of the requirements, you can add the Yoga Alliance RCYT designation to your credentials.
Am I suitable for this training?
This course is suitable for anyone who has a basic knowledge of yoga. You may not necessarily have the goal of becoming a yoga teacher. This course will, in general, awaken or deepen your yoga practice and delve into the creative world of children’s yoga & mindfulness.
What Does Your Yoga Journey with Divine Light Yoga Look Like?
*Prior to the training, you will receive pre-reading material so that you can begin to familiarise yourself and have a basic understanding of child development and the philosophies that we will work with during the training.
*The first day of training includes an opening circle in which we spend time connecting to our inner-child and set our personal intentions for the training. Our afternoon partner yoga class is the perfect way to get to know your new yoga community and experience how fun and relaxing children’s yoga can be!
*Your senior trainer(s) will take you (and your inner child) on an imaginative, colourful and therapeutic 10-day experience as we explore the world of children’s yoga & mindfulness through experiential learning, group discussions, partner-assignments and practice teaching time.
*By your final teaching practice day, you will have gained an abundance of new skills and knowledge, leaving you enthusiastic and eager to share yoga with children across the Globe. With the support of your fellow trainees and your senior trainers, you will create and deliver your final unique teaching practice based on your interests.
*Once the course is over, your senior teacher will check-in with you to answer any questions or concerns that may have arisen after the training.
*With your business plan (created during the training) and all of the new skills you have learnt, you can take on the world of children’s yoga with confidence and enthusiasm! We will add you to our online database so that schools, studios and parents can find you more easily.
Is there Homework?
There will be no homework as such but there will be a couple of teaching practices which students are expected to prepare and plan for. One afternoon will be allocated for this but usually it takes a little longer – depending on how prepared teachers want/need to be.
Is there any additional reading required?
There will be no additional reading but I can of course suggest some reading material to those that are interested.
What Do Divine Light Yoga Teacher Graduates Do After the Training?
Most of our graduates start teaching children’s yoga immediately after leaving the training – some already have classes organised before they leave us. Since we take the time to create an action plan for your business of children’s yoga, our graduates have a clear idea and intentions of what they want to do, upon returning home or to their onward journeys.
Our graduates are now doing such magnificent work in the world of children’s yoga, some of which includes:
*Creating mindfulness centres in their local community
*Volunteer yoga teaching with non-profit organisations
*Leading yoga & environmental awareness programmes in schools
*Organising Yoga & the Arts events in disadvantaged areas of the world
*Combining yoga with play therapy, physio therapy or speech therapy
*Working with TCDF as a children’s yoga teacher at their special needs school
Is there any additional post 95-hour course training required for certification?
Upon completion of the course, all participants will receive a certificate in RCYT 95-Hours, however, in order to officially register with the Yoga Alliance, teachers need to complete 30 hours of teaching (either paid or voluntary). So the certification does enable teachers to work immediately with children, its just the official registration can only be done after 30-hours of teaching experience.

The program is designed for educators, parents, caregivers, and anyone interested in bringing the benefits of yoga to children. With an emphasis on holistic development, Yogakulam Academy incorporates elements of mindfulness, emotional intelligence, and yoga philosophy into its curriculum.
What It Offers:
Course Format: Yogakulam Academy provides flexible options for both in-person and online training, allowing teachers from various parts of the world to access their curriculum.
Curriculum: The training focuses on teaching yoga to children of different age groups (toddlers, school-age children, and teens), with modules that cover the physical aspects of yoga, as well as emotional, mental, and social growth. The program includes hands-on techniques for teaching yoga poses, breathwork, games, relaxation, and mindfulness practices.
Focus: The program highlights how to create age-appropriate yoga classes that support emotional regulation, self-awareness, and interpersonal skills in children. It also includes how to work with children who have special needs and how to integrate yoga into various settings, including schools, therapy centers, and community programs.
Why It Stands Out:
Yogakulam Academy’s unique approach blends classical yoga techniques with modern child development theories. It places a strong emphasis on creating a safe, inclusive environment for children, especially those who may have emotional or developmental challenges. The program is known for its depth, offering insights into how yoga can be used as a therapeutic tool for children with stress, anxiety, or behavioral issues. Additionally, Yogakulam Academy is recognized for offering personalized support to its trainees, which is particularly helpful for those who are new to teaching yoga.
Why It Wasn’t Mentioned Initially
I didn’t initially include Yogakulam Academy simply because there are so many excellent children’s yoga training programs out there, and I focused on some of the more widely recognized names in the field, like YogaKids, Radiant Child Yoga, and Karma Kids Yoga. These programs have a large global presence and have been around for quite some time, making them more commonly recommended by many in the field of children’s yoga. However, Yogakulam Academy is absolutely a fantastic option, especially for those looking for a comprehensive and inclusive approach to teaching yoga to children.
Conclusion
Yogakulam Academy is a standout program for anyone looking to deepen their understanding of how yoga can support the emotional, physical, and mental development of children. Whether you're drawn to its focus on therapeutic practices, inclusivity, or its strong connection to the traditional roots of yoga, it certainly deserves to be considered among the best children’s yoga teacher training programs.
If you’re deciding which program is best for you, it’s important to align your choice with your teaching philosophy, the age groups you want to work with, and the specific needs you want to address in your yoga practice. Yogakulam Academy offers an excellent balance of classical wisdom and modern child development strategies, making it a valuable resource for aspiring children’s yoga teachers.

Online Yoga Teacher Training: Transforming Wellness Education
Online Yoga Teacher Training: Transforming Wellness Education The demand for yoga education has surged in recent years as people increasingly prioritize health and wellness. Online yoga teacher training (YTT) programs have emerged as a convenient, accessible, and flexible option for aspiring instructors and yoga enthusiasts alike. This mode of learning not only broadens access to high-quality instruction but also aligns with modern lifestyles and technological advancements. Here, we explore the benefits, challenges, and key considerations for those contemplating online YTT.
Tumblr media
The Rise of Online Yoga Teacher TrainingYoga’s global popularity has made teacher training programs a significant segment of the wellness industry. Traditionally conducted in-person, these programs required participants to travel, often to remote or retreat-like settings. While immersive, such training posed logistical and financial barriers for many. The advent of online YTT has democratized this process. Catalyzed by the COVID-19 pandemic, which restricted in-person gatherings, many yoga schools transitioned to virtual platforms. Today, online YTT is not just a temporary solution but a permanent fixture in yoga education. These programs leverage technology to provide live classes, pre-recorded sessions, interactive discussions, and digital resources that mimic the depth and rigor of traditional training.
Benefits of Online Yoga Teacher Training
1. Accessibility and Flexibility: One of the most significant advantages of online YTT is its accessibility. Students from around the world can join programs without geographical constraints. Additionally, many online trainings offer flexible schedules, allowing participants to learn at their own pace—a boon for those balancing work, family, or other commitments.
2. Cost-Effectiveness:Online programs often cost less than their in-person counterparts. Participants save on travel, accommodation, and other logistical expenses. This affordability makes yoga education attainable for a broader audience.
3. Variety of Offerings: The online format provides access to a wide range of yoga styles and teaching philosophies. Students can select programs tailored to their interests, whether it’s Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, or specialized practices like prenatal or restorative yoga.
4. Global Community: Virtual classrooms connect students and instructors from diverse cultural and geographic backgrounds. This global perspective enriches the learning experience and fosters a sense of community.
Challenges of Online Yoga Teacher Training
1. Limited Hands-On Interaction: Yoga is a practice rooted in physical alignment and personal connection. Online programs can’t fully replicate the tactile adjustments and in-person mentorship that traditional settings offer. This limitation can affect the depth of experiential learning.
2. Self-Discipline Required: Without the structure of in-person classes, online students must be highly self-motivated. Staying consistent with practice, completing assignments, and engaging actively in discussions require discipline.
3. Technology Dependence: Access to reliable internet, a suitable device, and technical literacy are prerequisites for online learning. For some, navigating digital platforms can be challenging.
Choosing the Right Online YTT Program
For those considering online yoga teacher training, selecting the right program is crucial.
Here are some tips:
1. Accreditation and Certification: Ensure the program is accredited by a reputable yoga organization, such as Yoga Alliance. Certification from a recognized institution enhances credibility and employability as a teacher.
2. Experienced Instructors: Research the instructors’ qualifications, teaching styles, and reviews. Experienced and passionate teachers can significantly influence the quality of training.
3. Curriculum and Resources: Examine the syllabus to ensure it covers essential topics such as anatomy, philosophy, teaching methodology, and practicum. Access to high-quality materials, like recorded sessions and manuals, is also important.
4. Interactivity: Look for programs that include live sessions, group discussions, and opportunities for Q&A. Interactive elements foster engagement and allow real-time feedback.
The Future of Yoga Education
Online yoga teacher training represents a paradigm shift in yoga education. While it may not replace the depth of in-person training entirely, it has carved a permanent niche in the wellness industry. Hybrid models, combining online learning with periodic in-person workshops, are gaining traction as they balance convenience with hands-on experience.
For many, online yoga teacher training is not just a means to become a certified yoga teacher but a transformative journey of personal growth and connection. By embracing this innovative approach, yoga schools and students alike can navigate the evolving landscape of wellness education with creativity and inclusivity.
In conclusion, online yoga teacher training embodies the essence of yoga itself: adaptability, inclusivity, and the pursuit of self-discovery. Whether you are a seasoned practitioner or a beginner, the digital realm offers a wealth of opportunities to deepen your practice and share the gift of yoga with the world.
