Additionally, advance care planning can relieve stress and anxiety for individuals and their loved ones during difficult times.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗻 𝗢𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: An online course and certification in advance care planning can provide healthcare professionals and individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively engage in advance care planning. Participants can learn about the legal and ethical considerations of advance care planning, communication strategies, and documentation requirements. They can also learn how to identify and address common barriers to advance care planning, such as cultural and religious beliefs.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Upon completion of the online course, participants can receive a certification in advance care planning. September 8, 2022, will go down in history as the day that Britain's longest-reigning monarch died. On March 17 2017, the Guardian posted an article by Sam Knight entitled, "'London Bridge is down': the secret plan for the days after the Queen's death." At the time, it grabbed huge attention as it seemed odd that there was an intricate plan for when the Queen died. It was like the plot of a movie - with huge amounts of detail on the various steps that would need to happen and specific roles certain people would have to play on the death of the monarch. Watching the live coverage yesterday, I was not surprised by the outpowering of love, sadness and grief for this incredible woman's passing; it felt like she was the nation's grandmother. However, as someone who works in palliative care, I wasn't surprised to hear members of the public saying things like they "thought she was going to live forever" or "I can't believe she's gone." These phrases are very common when someone dies. It confirms for me that we all don't talk about death enough. We know logically, in the cold light of day, that we don't live forever, but we don't live and breathe the reality of it in a way that makes us plan for our own inevitable exit; talk to our loved ones, plan for what we want and more importantly, what we don't want. For those in the field of palliative care, we know how important it is for patients and those important them that, just like the Queen/Country/Government, there is a plan (Advanced Care Planning). We know it takes a lot of stress and distress from an already emotionally charged situation. We also know that situations, where there isn't a plan or lack of communication can lead to unfulfilled patients' wishes and family members with many regrets. The Queen's last public engagement was on July 15, when she officially opened a new hospice. I hope the Queen's passing gets people talking about death, their own death, and dying positively and take inspiration from the article that outlined (over 6 years ago) what should happen in the event of the Queen's death and plan for what we know will eventually happen and to speak with the people in our lives and find out what they want or would like. Engineering affects virtually every aspect of our society and engages a substantial set of the population in carrying out engineers' plans and designs. But what is the nature of that activity? What is the role of engineering in responding to society's needs as well as in shaping them? How well does engineering carry out that role? These questions are being asked with increasing urgency by a society that has benefited from great advances in technology, and at the same time, seen dislocations and experienced fears associated with technology—a society that has become increasingly dependent on technology, but also increasingly ambivalent about it. Like all professionals, engineers must possess a well-developed ability to synthesize issues and communicate effectively to diverse audiences. Practical solutions. Exceptional results. Keeping this in mind JEC has developed it's infrastructure to meet every needs of students. Ironical to state that more than 1200+ latest configured computers with internet facility are dedicatedly available for students, where they utilize their spare time in learning by doing, making projects, value additions learnings, going through MOOC, NPTEL or edX lectures. This is truly learning the practical value of knowledge exercise happens in JEC. JEC's thinking is "Think beyond practical boundaries. Do right." Isn't WOW moment?
