Review #1: 3 Inches of Blood - "Advance and Vanquish". Out of all the bands in my collection, 3 Inches of Blood is one of the most fun lyrically and instrumentally. Advance and Vanquish is the album that got me into 3 Inches of Blood. After seeing them in concert, back when Jamie Hooper was in the band, I was hooked. I immediately purchased Advance and Vanquish and was surprised how much I enjoyed it. I heard the song "Deadly Sinners" a bunch of times, but never listened to the album in its entirety. After listening to the album, I realized how much fun it really was. Cam Pipes has one of the most talented voices in metal. His voice is something different and has a true heavy metal vibe to it. Everyone does a great job on the album. The bass is fantastic and the guitar work is outstanding. Plus, how about that awesome old school artwork? Advance and Vanquish is a great sophomore album from 3 Inches of Blood. I highly suggest this record if you want a super fun heavy metal experience in your collection.
