Life cycle of zombie disease:
miasma colony (juvenile form) floats harmlessly in air
miasma colony enters waterlogged flesh to transform from juvenile to adult colony
adult colony enters water
part of adult colony infects human, clones itself into full colony, causes zombie symptoms
adult colony spreads through saliva, either through the infected person biting someone or otherwise spreading their saliva or through water infected by their saliva.
adult colony reproduces inside zombie's waterlogged mouth sores, expels new miasma via zombie's breath
Mob has permanent open wounds in his mouth. and POST 😭
#my zombie au#tw blood#tw disease#...? not sure how to tag this further but it might be distressing#so let me know if you want me to use another tag#oh and by the way:#Miasma colonies move as one entity; a miasma colony that senses available flesh will migrate completely into it#leaving no germs behind in the air#adult colonies are unbothered by losing parts of themselves though#they just clone more until they're at full capacity for their current environment (water or human)#and then of course in a human the colony starts trying to reproduce by creating permanent sores in the human's mouth#and breeding new miasma in there
