I’M LOSING MY MIND. I’ve come full circle. The story has long since grown out of the name I originally gave it many many years ago, but through a twist of fate it has just about ended up fitting again. And I do not know how to feel about that. Because on one hand, the name has emotional value for me, but on the other hand, I was VERY over it for a VERY long time, and had very much moved on from it. Hm. There is decisions to be made

When Charles and Erik were recruiting mutants to stop Shaw.

First impressions, the way it used to be before it became romantic

Curiosity, of course. And wariness. Strangers waltzing in with a proposition to be a part of their little band.Were they serious? Apparently, the answer was yes. And you accepted. Right from the start, Charles and Erik displayed their mutations and quite frankly, it was alarming. But fear should not dictate your life, so you stepped over it and joined them. Seeing Darwin, the only recruit who grew on you die, increased your desire to stop the old German mutant on his way to Mutant's supremacy. Impressed by Charles' immense home, you thanked him more than once, even months after your arrival. It amused him but acknowledged the gratitude and told you that is was alright and to stop bringing it up. Talking to him was uplifting, for he was encouraging and positive. But also interesting, even challenging since he was a witty dreamer and not lacking brilliance. He was comforting, refreshing. Someone who could keep up with you, yet proposed another way to see the world. His philosophy danced with your passion. He didn't tell you to calm down, but knew how to make you use this heat productively or from time to time sooth your bad emotions. The wildest conversations occurred, not that any of you would care to share with the others. They were solely yours. Something you didn't want to share. Cute and well-meaning didn't stop him from being cocky and flirty, though, which is why you liked to playfully counter his words with a well placed line, showing that you wouldn't fall for his charm like a fly. It was an innocent game, going back and forth. Until feelings came out of the blue. Well, it was not shocking, but none expected to fancy someone seriously this year.

Who took the first step

You. As entertaining as flirting was, going slow was crucial. Being around a telepath wasn't a piece of cake, and you had to accept that. Or at least be more at ease. It wasn't until you trusted Charles' sincerity and respect of boundaries that you allowed yourself to feel and eventually, make your intentions clear.

Who approves, who disapproves

Most people are fine with the prospect of yours and Charles' happiness.

The best friend and the one you get along with the least

Erik, he is like your alter ego but with a different background. You wanted to punch him hard when he accidentally shot Charles and would have done so if it wasn't for your companions restraining you.

Raven. Both have passion, determination and the desire to protect those dear to you in common. She is spontaneous and blunt whereas you are more calculating and manipulative. Opposites attracts, right? You got along but your ways ultimately clashed. When she decided to leave with Erik that day on the beach, you couldn't help but resent her. How could she abandon her best friend, someone she grew up with, just like that? He was injured and she didn't stay. If leaving to fight for Mutants' rights was her true purpose, she could have gone later. After making sure Charles would live. But she didn't and it earned your disgust.

Who is the sun, who is the moon

Ahhhh. Thanks to his calm demeanor and let's be honest, his face, Charles could be compared to the moon. Same for you: “her beauty in the moonlight overthrew ya” or “mysterious as the dark side of the moon!' are accurate lyrics. You are more than what you seem to be; less innocent and more loving than some would expect. But Charles is a leader, a pole star to mutants. That could make him the sun, in the end.

Endgame or not

You visited him and Hank more often than not after Cuba, but didn’t give up on your ambitions. Remaining supportive didn’t stop the ‘break up’ though.I can imagine it as endgame to be honest, but life might not let it happen for whatever reason.
