I screamed at the most recent chapter(129 for reference).

not only is Zeku my favorite and it HURT me that it really brought homethe body horror of being aware that you could get your past lifes memories as he watched his friends around him deal with that. How he desperately avoided it til it was too late and he got his memories...only to turn out to be prince Eugene. husband of princess veronica/our main character who was responsile for the attack on the fort and exploading everyone so his friends balk around him to some degree despite knowing its unfair to Zeke.

but FINALLY we get to see Zeke tell our main character Eugene’s motives and thoughts.....but god....up til now he had been under the impression that Eugene hadn’t valued and had betrayed Princess Veronica to the highest order...but while the betrayal still stands...we find out his motives were basically to stop the use of a magic nuke in war...and then it turned out...he WASN’T indifferent to Veronica. Eugene had commited to what he was going to do...but he is still human...and he thought...even  if it was selfish on him...that he wabnted the person he cared for to live and find happyness even with someone else for the short time she has before death.

logic wise he knows that veronica wouldn’t bite..she is loyal and a good princess who cares about the people in her fort.

but god....minami finding out that in fact Eugene actually did care about Veronica......

like...guy I SHIP minami with his girlfriend/female knight from the past. they are adorableeven as it can feel challeged and unfair when someone who fell for the ptincess in the past life who was encouraged by the lady knight to confess ended up falling for  the princess/miniami in the second life as well and was two late on getting closure.

but DAMN. the chemistry and WEIGHT when it comes to Eugene and Veronica have affected Zeke and Minami’s dynamic...that here in this chapter....screamed and almost cried....I shouldnt want them bakc together. it doesnt change it was a betrayal that cost people lives and had a lack of communication that especially hurt miniami and princess veronica due to her having the memories the longest. and Minami already has a girlfriend and seems happy and moving on is probably the best way....

but DAMN I actually wished for a moment that Minami and Zeke could get together even though I know I’m not going to get that. like that confession was a lifetime too late. like...does it help that eugene actually loved Veronica or give more complicated emotions for our minami to shift through?
