Casual PA

I today am on a busy catch-up day, and I truly just felt like throwing on whatever and getting my shit done! So, first of all, let me say that if you’re here too, you’re valid and still a stunning, intelligent queen. You’re allowed days off. But my goal is to reach the point in my aesthetics where even on days off, I still feel my best self, so here’s advice for you guys and also for myself! Making jeans and a t-shirt cute

tuck the t-shirt in, be it fully, the french tuck, or to one side, anything to givr a bit of an interesting shape.

Wear a crop top, or crop your existing t-shirt yourself.

Tie it in the front for a different silhouette

Roll up the sleeves to make it look a little bit more intentional.

^ on that note, cuff your jeans!

Accesorise- match the colour of your scrunchie to your t-shirt, pick earrings that match the colour of the graphic on your shirt, wear a hip/wallet chain that evokes a pattern in your top, use the colour of hardare as a throughline in a monochromatic fit eg black outfit, gold earrings, gold belt buckle, gold bag chain.

Work your shoes, bag, and overlayers into the mix too- a red top and red shoes, white jeans and a white backpack, black jacket with black jeans

Hoodies and Sweatshirts

You can experiment with shapes here too- cropped, those K-Pop style ones that are essentially just the hood with sleeves.

Colour is your friend- pick a hoodie that’s bright and colourful so you still feel happy and fabulous. I used to slounge in exclusively dark hoodies and it wasn’t helping.

University sweatshirts!! A Harvard one is so very on my wishlist. You can also do clubs and societies hoodies, sweatshirts, t-shirts. I still have one from school, and I super regret not getting my university cheerleading one!

You don’t have to default to leggings either (but you’re so valid if you do!). Kaiti Yoo on YouTube has such good examples of how to do sloungey-chic. There are also K-Fashion influences to look at. Speaking of, K-Pop Dance Videos

Being a Blink is my main K-Pop enthusiasm, so that’s my inspo!

Jennie: Her Adidas and shorts combo in Shut Down is a simple black top with a racing stripe, or just an actual Adidas moment, and a black denim skirt or shorts.

Rosé: In Pink Venom, she’s wearing what honestly looks like a strappy sports bra and cargo trousers. If that’s not your comfort zone, swap for a tank top or tee. Both are black.

Jisoo: For Kill this Love, Jisoo is black wearing shorts and thigh socks and a crop top

Lisa: Lisa’s outfit in Lalisa is just pair of grey sweatpants tied at the waist for a bit of a snatch and a powder blue crop top.

All of these outfits are dance-appropriate, and mostly black, but have elements that make them a bit more fashion such as the monochrome that looks styled, Lisa’s tied sweatpants, or Jisoo’s socks.

The Bratz honestly serve casual fashion, because the COLLECTION they have of tank tops in different colours, graphics, and bedazzled slogans are to die for.

I don't usually do this kind of thing....however....

normally I don't post any IRL pics of myself on any of my blogs for personal reasons but I wanted to post a few photos today because lately I've been trying to get a feel of what different Lorre characters (or even Peter himself) might wear in the modern day and I rummaged through my phone gallery to find some photos I'd take to get an idea of what that might look like. [I'll be blocking my face out of the photos, please be nice...i know the room is a little cluttered...]

starting off with what I was wearing earlier today, most of the stuff I wear is either black or some other dark color. I don't often wear lighter colors because I work as a salon assistant and lighter colors are more prone to stains which is easy to do when you work around a lot of dyes and chemicals that could bleach your clothing. Anyway....both the black parachute pants and striped shirt are from uniqlo and were paired with black Adidas. The necklace (better seen in the picture on the left) is a hand-me-down from an old friend of my grandmother's. I honestly could see someone like Polo or even Peter himself wearing this because it's kinda understated and casual. It's a far cry from Peter's usual suits but I feel like he'd like it just to switch things up (plus I feel like the necklace would look cute on him)

This next one was taken a few months ago shortly before I went to a nightclub. I had to tweak the photo because there's too many shadows in my room but I'm wearing black cargo pants and a black knit turtleneck with a pair of black slip-on vans and lots. Of. Necklaces. For some reason to me this outfit screams Abbott.

Finally there's this one. Yes, that's Peter lorre on the t-shirt (I had this custom made) but let's say for the sake of it being worn by a PL character there'd be something else on it. Again I'm wearing black pants and the necklace from the first photo but the oversized flannel was from the lost and found bin at work and the leather cuff was bought at a convention. Honestly this might be the kind of outfit a character like Baron Taggart would wear in his down time. Or heck, maybe even Abbott again because of the sort of grungy mall goth vibes but I dunno🤷‍♀️ (shoes would be included of course)

Anyway...these were just some ideas clunking around in my head...that's all😓

contemporary designer at the forefront of Deconstruction processes.

Yohji Yamamoto is a master of the deconstructed style that has revolutionized fashion in the last 30 years. A style capable of deconstructing classic fashion with lines of pure poetry. Now it is he himself who has traced the way to revolutionize style, alter stereotypes, destabilize our concepts of clothing.

In 1972, a revolution stirred as Yohji Yamamoto began making menswear-inspired clothes for women in his hometown of Tokyo. Having spent a couple of years wandering around Europe, where he was awarded a scholarship to study couture dressmaking in Paris, he began to unpick every seam he had been taught to hand-stitch. Channelling the beauty of darkness and poetic destitution, he created enveloping silhouettes in purposefully aged fabrics in only the deepest, darkest shades of black, worn with pallid bare faces, flat shoes, and jauntily uneven hems and finishings.

A young Yamamoto-san had visited Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McClaren’s epicentre of punk, Sex, a couple of years prior in London with his then-girlfriend Rei Kawakubo. It sparked a desire to destroy everything he was ever taught in order to sow the seeds for something new. “You will only be able to oppose something and to find something of your own after travelling the long road of tradition,” he explained in his own words.

The Yohji is always recognizable: large pockets clearly visible, revisited collars, oversized volumes, cuffs with doubled volumes, kimono sleeves, long coats open as if they were imperial capes and military prints that gain softness.

Since the establishment of Y's Company Ltd. in 1972, Yohji Yamamoto continues to spread his revolutionary, ever-widening sphere of influence in fashion, driven by his rebellious spirit. Ever since the first presentation of his brand YOHJI YAMAMOTO in 1981 during Paris fashion week, each collection is greeted by the world with great uproar and applause. The designer entered into collaboration with adidas as Creative Director of Y-3 in 2002. He has also designed costumes in various fields, including films of directors Wim Wenders and Takeshi Kitano, opera by Wagner, and the performed by Tanztheater Wuppertal and choreographed by Pina Bausch.

The two hiking shoes that saved me from the East to the West and North to the South!

Angel’s Landing, National Park Utah, Hellroaring Trail, Yellowstone Montana, Grand Teton Wyoming, Texas Hill Country and even Florida Everglades. All owned pairs of Adidas shoes were torn after a couple of days in Lost Maples– and so were my weak ankles. R.I.P. 

The views were worth the huge drop-offs and narrow ledges, for the fearless souls not afraid of heights. The cardio you put in is a grind your feet will resent you for if you don’t wear the right gear. Thinking about the terrain: it was narrow, there were cliff walls (might’ve slipped eight times…i’m not counting) and rocky dirt terrain. I get asked multiple times by non-experienced hikers for the best hiking shoes recommendations and my answer is always the same, “Not cloth Adidas.” Having pleasant and suitable hiking shoes that can double as fashion in downtown is a literal game changer.

I’ve been an Avid hiker since 2017 when I took a spontaneous road trip across the northern states and hiked around 20 miles altogether If you want to learn the hard way with blisters on your feet after a couple of hours go right ahead, but I have researched and experienced some fantastic alternatives for shoes that could take you over 1,000 miles. Mind you I emphasized “Water-Resistant” as these are not waterproof. Tailoring your hiking shoes to the type of terrain and climate is important but the Hoka’s are perfect for the following:

Inclined and Narrow hikes

Off-trail cross-country hiking

Luckily, I've realized my Floridian blood would take over sooner than expected. After being homesick I decided to head back home to Florida and bought suited shoes for the next challenge: The Everglades National Park. Hiking shoes for water activities definitely means Water-Proof shoes. Florida is known for its hot and rainy days and if a certain hike requires water encounter, walking up streams, and a possible mud pit, then I would recommend some On Women's Cloudrock Waterproof Hiking Boots. They are lightweight, quick drying, water-proof, and windproof hiking shoes.  

These Cloudrock shoes have a unique build with two types of mesh in the mid and forefoot of the shoe that helped with my rolling ankles. The high collar wasn’t tight like other shoes that cut off your circulation but quite snug, and the cuff held my breathable socks up while my clumsiness took over near the Hammock Trail (yep, I rolled my ankles on my own foot too. How embarassing.)

Altogether, these are my personal recommendations from a 25 year-old clumsy intermediate hiker. Yet, when looking for hiking shoes remember they come in all forms, shapes, colors, and styles that best suit your price range, level of experience, gender, and performance speed. Even two for one kind of weathering shoes. Heck, if you want some sandal-like hiking shoes for the more liberal hikers there are many options to fit your needs! Let those toes breathe.
