(talking abt ffx) yknow for a game that uses dreams as very significant plot points, you would think that dreams would be featured more heavily in its story than just as the final few plot reveals, but instead it was used very lightly which is a bit.... eh..?
like tidus Did dream very often in the beginning, like he dreamt when entering spira, dreamt twice in besaid.... and iirc he doesnt dream again until zanarkand. not just him but no other characters are seen dreaming i dont think. like i might be wrong and there may hv been dreams im not remembering but yeah the lack of dreams kinda makes the story feel a bit.. funny, for a lack of a better word. 10's pacing is a bit disjointed to me and i REALLY wish i wasnt spoiled for this game so i would know whether or not i wouldve worked out that tidus was a dream myself or if it wouldve felt like it came out of nowhere instead ๐
#also this is an invitation for any oomfs reading this to tell me whether they had figured out 10's plot reveal before it happened or not#adding onto this. honestly 10s pacing and storytelling style was extremely solid in the beginning#(seems like a nojima writing trademark.. 8 also had a very solid interesting and grounded beginning)#but overarching themes failed to really click#too many plot reveals at once that didnt feel like they had sufficient buildup.. it begins to fall apart at its end#luckily for 10 it had framework that it could still pull off an emotional masterpiece.... 8 on the other hand. LOL
