Uzodinma drops deputy, picks female running mate

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo on Saturday unveiled Chinyere Ekomaru as his running mate for the 11 November governorship election in the state. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the unveiling took place at an APC stakeholders’ meeting in Owerri. The governor also presented his scorecard under his 3R Government of Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Recovery from 15 January 2020 to date. In a speech, he said his administration had laid the foundation for growth in all sectors of the economy and would consolidate on them to deliver an industrial, prosperous and safe Imo in the coming years. “We have so much to campaign with. Mr Uzodimma also said that similar efforts were being replicated in the health sector, where his administration recovered the Imo State University Teaching Hospital (IMSUTH), Orlu from decay. He said that his government ensured that medical students graduated from the institution after eight years of stagnation. “IMSUTH remains a truly tertiary health institution with the requisite experts and consultants. “Through our collaboration with the Federal Government, the Federal Medical Center, Owerri has been converted to Federal University of Technology Teaching Hospital, Owerri,” he said. He further disclosed that three new well-equipped general hospitals would be commissioned soon. The governor said he had ensured the recovery of Adapalm Nigeria Limited and was in the process of doing the same at Imo Shoe Industry, the Rubber Company, Avutu Poultry and Nsu Ceramic Industry, among others. “Through a friendly tax regime and creation of new business opportunities, we have also created the enabling environment for investors to establish industries and create employment opportunities in the state,” he said. The governor also said that the ongoing dredging of the Oguta-Orashi-Degema River to the Atlantic Ocean project would help to rejuvenate the state economy and that of the entire South-East, when completed. Earlier, the state APC Chairman, Macdonald Ebere, acknowledged the good work done by Mr Uzodimma’s administration and expressed the need for continuity. Mr Ebere said, “We are not unmindful that the increasing strength, popularity and visibility of our party in the state as reflected in the just-concluded election, the litany of defections from major political parties are attributable to your pacesetting infrastructure development and economic re-engineering of our state.” He said that the party was firmly positioned to take advantage of the achievements of the “shared prosperity administration” to secure once again the mandate of the people by 11 November. “We are very optimistic that our people will once again speak through their votes, to revalidate their implicit vote of confidence in our party and the shared prosperity administration of our governor,” he said. In an acceptance speech, Mrs Ekomaru, accompanied by her husband, thanked the governor for choosing her as his running mate and promised not to betray the confidence he reposed in her. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says it is confident of winning the 11 November governorship elections in Bayelsa, Imo and Bayelsa States, going by the level of its acceptability by the people. Two SSS Operatives, ’21’ IPOB Members Killed In Enugu Violent Clash.(video)

At least two operatives of the State Security Service (SSS) were killed, on Sunday, allegedly by members of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The secessionist group in a statement also said 21 of its members were killed by security operatives and 47 arrested.

The incident caused tension in the area for a greater part of the day as armed police officers and soldiers were deployed.

As a result, the area witnessed vehicular and human traffic as the police combed the area in search of IPOB members.

We were Attacked – SSS In a statement by its spokesperson, Peter Afunanya, the SSS said its patrol team was “attacked in Emene, Enugu State by members of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).”

“The Service lost two personnel in what was clearly an unprovoked violent attack launched by IPOB on the team,” Mr Afunanya said.

The agency condoled with families of the departed officers and also prayed for the repose of their souls.

“However, all measures have been put in place to ensure that their killers and everyone involved in this dastardly act are promptly apprehended and brought to justice. Consequently, a full-scale investigation will be carried out with regard to the incident.

“Once again, the Service reaffirms its commitment to assiduously work with other security agencies to maintain public safety and order. It, therefore, urges law abiding citizens and residents to go about their normal businesses without fear,” the spokesperson said.

IPOB: “We lost 21 members” In a statement by its spokesperson, Emma Powerful, IPOB said 21 of its members were killed in the clash.

Mr Powerful said 47 IPOB members were also arrested.

Premium Times could not independently verify the claims on casualty by the IPOB spokesman.

“The Nigerian government and her security agencies have once again exhibited another crude round of killing and massacre against the peaceful and unarmed IPOB family members in Enugu State today 23rd of August, 2020″

“We are surprised how Nigerian security agencies in their respective formations like army, police and DSS will be slaughtering our people without any provocation.

“This rampant killing of innocent members of IPOB will be reciprocated in due cause. IPOB members have been slaughtered and arrested in their numbers across different locations in Enugu State today Sunday 23rd August 2020”

“Today, the Nigerian security personnel stormed IPOB meeting ground in Enugu and started shooting sporadically which consumed lives of 21 members and 47 arrested for just no cause or provocation,” Mr Powerful said.

He alleged that the security operatives took the bodies of the slain IPOB members away.

“The security in the whole world must understand that keeping quiet and following the rule of law should not be construed as weakness on the part of IPOB.”

He said the group is a peaceful organisation and will remain peaceful despite the provocations.

“IPOB is a well rooted movement committed fully on the pursuit for Biafra freedom and independence from Nigeria. We are not a violent group and there is nothing they can do to change our resolve to maintain peace and order in our land.

“The efforts of the Nigeria government and her partners in crime in trying to push IPOB to change their tactics will amount to vanity”.

“We are warning and asking Nigeria government and her security operatives to stop this atrocity immediately. Why have they refused to confront Fulani terrorists herdsmen, Boko Haram terrorists, Ansaru group, Fulani bandits, ISIS and other groups ravaging the country and busy killing innocent and unarmed citizens of IPOB?”

Mr Poweful said “those responsible for this barbaric killing in Enugu today must pay for their actions against IPOB at the appropriate time.”

“It is laughable for DSS to be claiming that they lost five personnel in the hands of unarmed and Peaceful people. It is clear to all that IPOB doesn’t indulge or carry arm or involve with any object. IPOB is a peaceful movement and we must remain so till Biafra is totally achieved”, he added.

IPOB seeks a sovereign Biafran country made up of Igbo-speaking parts of Nigeria. Its activities have been outlawed by the Nigerian government although it repeatedly says its movement is a peaceful one.

IPOB’s leader, Nnamdi Kanu, fled Nigeria after he was granted bail following his trial for treason.

Fazer um banheiro pequeno planejado pode até parecer simples, mas exige um projeto arquitetônico bem preparado e um profissional qualificado para que a obra saia de acordo com as premissas e atenda todas as necessidades do consumidor final. Por isso, entender todas as etapas de reforma de banheiro de em um  empreendimento comercial ou residencial é fundamental para o sucesso da obra, além de estar atento a três pontos principais: planejamento; projeto e custos da obra.

De acordo com Lizete Queiroz, designer de interiores da construtora Queiroz Silveira, quando é feito um projeto de banheiro, o arquiteto ou projetista desenha e valida esse documento, antes de passa-lo para o projetista hidráulico, “ele já vai com os espaços onde serão os vãos e onde ficarão os ralos, por exemplo, e isso influencia no valor do projeto, entre outros detalhes”, destaca.

  O que pode acarretar erros graves e deve ser verificado na hora de fazer um banheiro pequeno planejado:

– Cuidado com o posicionamento dos itens, principalmente, do vaso sanitário: o ideal é colocá-lo em uma posição que esteja 20 cm a 23 cm de folga para a parede e que tenha conforto.

– O posicionamento do ralo também é importante. Se o arquiteto não tem o cuidado de posicioná-lo da maneira correta, corre o risco de colocá-lo no local onde o morador deve pisar. “O modelo ideal, em minha opinião, é o ralo seca piso que fica na lateral, no canto da parede com uma inclinação no piso para que a água escorra para ele”, aconselha Lizete.

– Cuidado com as dimensões: é preciso se atentar ao tamanho e a localização dos espelhos, garantindo que será proporcional ao restante dos elementos.

– Iluminação para valorizar o ambiente: quando temos um espaço pequeno, cada detalhe conta na hora de deixá-lo mais harmonioso e confortável. Por isto, invista em uma iluminação que favoreça os elementos e que forneça uma sensação de espaço no local.

– No caso de banheiros que vão receber crianças ou idosos, é preciso redobrar a atenção para o coeficiente de atrito, que determina a resistência ao escorregamento.

– Evite degraus: a inserção de degraus em um espaço que já é pequeno pode diminuir a acessibilidade do ambiente e, até mesmo, ser responsável por causar alguns acidentes.

– Se utilizar no banheiro algum elemento em madeira, é preciso dar atenção para a impermeabilização e ter cuidados extras na manutenção após a obra.

  Cuidados para evitar patologias em banheiros

Alguns danos muito comuns em banheiros ou espaços úmidos são a formação de bolor, decorrente da umidade excessiva, ou de problemas no sistema hidráulico ou sanitário da construção. Essas questões podem estar relacionadas a aplicações executadas de maneira incorreta, por isto, o cuidado na contratação de mão de obra adequada é imprescindível.

As orientações sobre os tipos de materiais que serão utilizados no ambiente, também partem do projeto arquitetônico que deve estar adequado ao empreendimento.  “O luminotécnico do banheiro é muito importante, principalmente no lavabo, pois faz toda a diferença no design, valorizando o ambiente”, destaca a representante da Queiroz Silveira.

Segundo Lizete, o banheiro é uma área úmida que costuma ser lavada constantemente, então, os revestimentos para banheiro precisam ser resistentes ao atrito e aos materiais químicos utilizados na limpeza desse ambiente.
