OH BOY OK
so, Izbeth Weaver, one of the primary protagonists of the Adasia Sequence
An accomplished gentlewoman thief, known to the public at large as the Camellia Thief after the calling card she left at the scenes of her impossible jewel heists.
The flowers were actually her way of taunting/flirting with Senior Investigator Cenn Morest, the Caril City Watch officer assigned to her case. The two of them had a very romantically charged cat and mouse game going on for a while (including a dance at a masquerade ball)
But then Izbeth fucked up, and one of her heists spiraled out of control, and a kid died.
She walked up to Cenn at the funeral and immediately turned herself in. She was extradited from Caril to her home city of Tassinium, where she got off with a slap on the wrist, but completely abandoned her criminal career in favor of working as a security consultant, taking a lot of cases pro bono as a way of attempting to make amends.
The actual story starts twelve years later, after Izbeth has moved back to Caril, and witnesses something horrifying that implies corruption in the Watch. This leads her to come back to Cenn, the one person she trusts implicitly, to work together and have a second chance at love unravel the mystery.
Here's Cenn and Izbeth, drawn as a gift for me by @swamp-spirit !

Sometimes I just smash together some random latin/Greek roots in my head and a magic system falls out.
Adasia Sequence has teleasthesia (a sort of unconscious, muscle memory remote viewing), and I've got some untitled snippets in my idea pile with teratoliths (magic stones that grant useful mutations when embedded under the skin) and abhemists (mages who can burn away blood)
It's fun! I might make a generator at some point.
