The 2021 movie adaptation sucked ass though. I don't remember it very well but it took the most "shocking" moments (or well. The scenes that devoid of context could be interpreted as lesbophobic/sexualization of lesbians) and executed them poorly. Like when chiyomi has sex with the taxi driver, in the movie she just does this because ?? In the manga it's clear she feels pressured and explicitly says she only does it bc she has to do what is expected of her (I'm paraphrasing) it links back to her internalized homophobia and also having been groomed into her only relationship.

WAIT going through my old blog's likes reminded me of that one Yuri manga I read last summer called gunjō by ching Nakamura!! Most insane toxic yuri ever it was so good. For the toxic gay stories website people don't talk about it here enough!!!
