Astrological Perspective on Adani Share Loss: Planetary Factors Behind the Plunge
Tumblr media
The Adani Group's incredible market capitalization condensation of roughly Rs 2.60 lakh crore worth of shares has caused much loss and dramatically affected the economy. The share depreciation can be attributed mainly to the legal troubles that afflict the firm, advertisement interference, and bribery charges that have been labelled against Gautam Adani and a few other executives. Still, one can also view the effects of these events from an astrological perspective and try to point out the planets, if any, that have to do with such financial happenings. This begs the query: Was the ongoing slump of Adani Group shares in 2024 one of the adverse consequences that astrological transits, in some way, brought about?
How Astrological Transits Affected Adani Shares
Adani Group's share price backlash can partly be attributed to several astrological transits of several planets, which have had an impact on a global scale and currencies, thus various countries and their economies. When transiting with certain signs or positions in the sky, several planets tend to influence the actions that occur here on Earth, including the movement of money. Concerning the recent fall of shares for Adani Group, several planetary transits could have lent credence to the fall of the shares. In share market astrology, all twelve houses participate and contribute to this remarkable growth, and here are just a few of them.
Saturn's Transit: Everyone knows Saturn is associated with delays, obstacles, tough lessons, and karma. The planet has an aggressive quality and forces one to always face the battle.the worst days come during a Saturn transit, which gives Sadesati and Dhaiya. Adani Group's acquisition of assets, legal troubles around a $250 million bribery scheme, and, more recently, Gautam Adani's indictment can all be viewed as a period aligned under a certain energy force. The trends powered by many Jupiterian energies come alright with a huge amount of capital returned. Certainly, for a country able and willing to capitalize on Saturn while having a corporation conglomerate like Adani that could not quite fit within Saturn transit, the timelines brought about by the transits were not in favourable positions over their most recent expansion.
Martian energy is another significant player in periods of sharper market movements. Mars is the planet that is most aligned with aggression, war, and anything over-action-related. Such market aggression seen lately, such as the recent huge selloff round, must have a Mars touch. Another possibility that worsened the volatility in the Adani Group stocks was the energies around Mars, which psychologically affected investors in space. Mars brings rapid market movements, and when it was in a stronger position when the news was released, its energies may have assisted with the market freefall. As panic set in, marketers were already looking at unloading their positions, pushing the stock depreciations more.

Mercury Retrograde
Mercury retrograde is a known time when negotiations, agreements and court practices are prone to hitches. Most of the time, deal-making when Mercury is retrograde tends to be characterized by distortion, sluggishness, or ambiguity, especially in contracts or other legal entities. The period surrounding the legal imbroglio surrounding the Adani Group and the fact that Mercury was in retrograde motion may have added to some level of chaos and uncertainty, particularly with the presence of US prosecutors. The market misread or reacted in a knee-jerk manner to some of the interpretations, and as a result, adverse consequences on the stocks were witnessed. Besides, there always seem to be hitches in business transactions during this time, such as a moratorium or withdrawal of announcements like bond premium offering, for instance, in the case of Adani Group, in which a 600 million dollar bond was called off.

Rahu and Ketu
The two shadow planets are constantly accountable for sudden and drastic changes. In particular, Rahu is the planet of controversies, unmasking destructed words of concealed reasons. The bribery scandals of Adani executives who kept some US investors in the dark could generally be a case of Rahu's direction. This cosmic force tends to surprise in the form of shocks and even chaos, which may suffice for a short-term change in the investment mood or valuation of stocks. In this case, Adani's international publicity of litigations may have been caused by Rahu's influence in all astrology houses, changing fortunes and prices of stocks sharply in the downward direction.
Astrological Reasons for the Unraveling of Adani Shares in 2024
Several astrological factors have contributed to the downfall of Adani Group stocks in 2024. The lawsuits that acted as the immediate trigger to the stock drop could also have been created by the astrological situation back then. The following factors likely contributed to the downfall
The Restrictive Power Of Saturn: Saturn's aspect may have revealed problems and impediments that strained the Adani Group, experiencing a phase of endurance, including legal issues. Leos are often made to carry the burdens of the past, and Saturn's interference may be due to Sankara's maleficent influence on an organization. This makes the images in particular. Regarding astrological science, this may be why Saturn, in relation to the charts of the Adani Group, was in this situation of petty financial losses and struggle.
The Communication Crisis Affecting During Mercury Retrograde
Certain legal, bribery or bond dealings might have been lost or misconstrued within the Mercury retrograde. However, these periods are notorious rifts within business dealings, and the market reacts so chaotically due to communication barriers typical concerning this period phase. The interruption of the bond offering considered 600 million, and its potential destruction of investors' confidence might have had to do with mercury retrograding.
Rahu's Influence on Issues Within a Blackout
The schemed bribery charges, the bribery allegation, and the loss of esteem in the firm from both shareholders and regulators can be put in the context of Rahu. Financial and economic destruction, adding to earlier losses, must also result in enhancement in quick and fickle markets, like when Adani Group lost its voice in the market.

FARMERS PROTEST 🌾
My people laugh at tyrants.
Punjabis today say, “When Alexander the Great attempted to invade, Punjab sent him packing. What’s a Modi to an Alexander the Great?”
For Sikhs, dissent against oppression is nothing new. We resisted the Mughals for 300 years. We birthed a global resistance against colonial British rule, including one that stretched from the fields of Northern California to the villages of Punjab, called the Ghadar Movement. My parents’ generation survived the 1984 Sikh genocide and the decade of state-sponsored violence and extrajudicial killings that followed.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi now joins the long historical list of tyrants Punjab has taken on.
In September, Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) hastily passed three farm bills, with the stated intent of liberalizing the country’s agrarian sector. Farmers see these bills as a ploy to hand over the sector to Modi’s billionaire supporters, such as Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani. On Nov. 25, tens of thousands of Punjabi farmers and farmworkers began marching towards the country’s capital, New Delhi. As they peacefully crossed into neighboring Haryana, they were met with tear gas, water cannons, police batons and road barriers. Now, as winter sets in, not even a bitter, bone-chewing cold has stopped a million protesters from planting their feet at Delhi’s borders.
My aunt, like most members of my family in Punjab, is a small-scale farmer. More than half of India’s workforce is in farming, with 85 percent of farmers owning less than five acres. They can try to take everything we have, they’ve tried before,” my aunt told us over the phone weeks ago; She had just returned from a protest in her village, “But our spirit will never extinguish.”
Punjab’s tradition of resilient defiance is on full display, and it is a sight to behold.
Protesters have traveled hundreds of miles by bicycle and tractor, many saying they’re prepared to stay for at least six months if they have to. The resistance is intersectional; Mazdoors, landless farm laborers, and members of the Dalit community who have long faced systemic caste-based discrimination are present. Women are leading the way. Farmers from neighboring states such as Haryana, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh have joined. Protesters from ages 7 to 90 rise from their makeshift beds as the morning cold continues to bite; some protesters are dying of the cold. Those marching are singing spiritual kirtan. Menstrual products are being freely distributed, and efforts to feed the poor in surrounding areas are currently underway.People gather to cut vegetables for langar (the Sikh practice of making and serving free meals). The community has set up blood donation clinics, gyms and book distributions. Through music and poetic verse, protesters call out the Modi government and India’s corporate billionaires.
This protest is beginning to look more and more like a revolution. It has the Indian government shaking. But many of us watching the protests know the ugly reality for minorities in Modi’s India and what happens when they speak up against mistreatment.
Human rights violations have followed Modi his entire political career. He is a lifelong member of the RSS, a right-wing paramilitary Hindu nationalist organization that seeks to turn India into a Hindutva state. In 2005, Modi was banned from entering the United States and Europe for his involvement in the mass murders of 2,000 people, mostly Muslims, during the 2002 Gujarat pogroms, during which he served as the state’s chief minister.
When Kashmiris speak up about their struggles, the government and its propagandist media labels them “terrorists.” When Muslims speak up, they’re labeled “terrorists.” When Sikhs speak up, we’re labeled “terrorists.” Minorities, intellectuals, student leaders and journalists are labeled “anti-nationals” and can be jailed under false allegations for not toeing the state’s line.
The Punjabi diaspora has come out in full force, supporting the current protests with packed rallies throughout the world to amplify farmer’s voices. On Dec. 5, I went to a car rally that spanned 18 miles in Toronto. In San Francisco, thousands of cars took over the Bay Bridge and caravanned towards the Indian Consulate.
As friends and relatives of those currently protesting in Delhi, we are worried about the potential for retribution the farmers will face. Sikhs are venerated when we die for others but are demonized when we stand up for ourselves. Since the farmers started marching to New Delhi, pro-Modi segments of the Indian media have gone into overdrive, labeling peaceful protesters as terrorists and anti-nationals. Thus, it becomes imperative that the international press shows the world what is happening to peaceful protesters and makes an effort to amplify their voices.
Dissent is on its last leg in India. Any hope to restore it is tied to the fate of this farmers’ protest. Their resistance acts as a last line of defense against a government-backed corporate takeover. An elderly protester recently said, “We have faced bigger tyrants than Modi. As long as there is breath in our lungs, we will keep fighting.”
The ultimatum is clear.
Peace and justice for all minorities, or division and polarization?
Democracy or majoritarianism?
Farmers or Modi?
Pick your side.
I’ve chosen mine.

so among the whole, NSW and QLD being literally on fire thing, the Adani coal mine continues to be worse and worse
In a shocking new low, Adrian Burragubba and his son, our cultural heritage protector, Coedie McAvoy, have been specifically targeted by Adani. They are, along with all other members of the family council, now subjected to Supreme Court orders brought on by Adani. These orders allow the company to bring in the police and have our people arrested and jailed if we 'trespass' on 'Adani's land' to conduct ceremony at our cultural sovereignty camp and corroboree ground.
We are not just on the frontline… we are the frontline
Please donate if you can. If you look back at history and think how horrible it was that colonists came, forced indigenous people off their land, stole everything they could, and wish you could have done something then know IT IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW and YOU CAN DO SOMETHING

Corrupt Fascist Regime of World’s Largest Hypocrisy Under Narendra Modi
No Progress on the Panama Papers in Which Over 1800 Indian Names Had Been Disclosed
Those using Panama as tax heavens would not only be liable to pay more income tax if they honestly declared true wealth but also open them to charges of corporate fraud that could earn them jail terms
— By Mohan Guruswamy | 5 Apr 2020 | National Herald India
Tumblr media
The Panama Papers illuminate a key aspect of why the system isn’t working – because globalization has allowed the capital and assets of the 1 % (be they individuals or corporations) to travel freely, while those of the 99 % cannot.
Globalization is supposed to be about the free movement of people, goods, and capital. But in fact, the system is set up to enable that mobility mainly for the rich (or for large corporations).
The result is global tax evasion, the offshoring of labor, and an elite that flies 35,000 feet over the problems of nation states and the tax payers within them.
Meanwhile Amitabh Bachchan, who is mentioned as owner of several shell companies, goes from strength to strength as the brand ambassador for Gujarat and many government agencies. He was even reckoned by some to be fit as President of the Republic along with other worthies such as Mohan Bhagwat.
The ways of India’s rich and famous are increasingly becoming public knowledge. The disclosure that as many as five hundred prominent Indian’s, including Incredible India’s latest brand ambassador - Amitabh Bachchan - owned offshore companies in Panama is just the latest of the unravelling. All one can say is that he is in the good company of the likes of Vladimir Putin, David Cameron and Nawaz Sharif among others.
Panama is a small sliver of a country in Central America joining North and South America. Its immediate geographical neighbours are Costa Rica in the north and Colombia in the south. It is the narrow isthmus that separates the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans. A 77 kilometers long manmade canal capable of accommodating large ships joins the two oceans. The revenues from this were for long the nation’s biggest source of income since the canal opened in 1914.
Panama soon found that becoming a tax haven that assured investors of their privacy provided a more lucrative income. The proximity to the Americas, and the balmy Caribbean islands, and countries like Colombia with its huge cocaine production and export business, and Latin America’s many kleptomaniac tin pot dictators made Panama even more attractive. Till not long ago the Canal Zone was under the protection of US troops and that too served as an incentive for Americans seeking an offshore tax haven.
Panama is a tax heaven, which means it is a country that offers foreign individuals and businesses little or no tax liability in a fairly politically and economically stable environment. Tax heavens also provide little or no financial information to foreign tax authorities. This in short is the reason Panama is so important to our moneyed people who have good reason to hide their real wealth.
Why do the rich then want to hide their wealth? This is simply because officially they are not as wealthy as they really are. And if they honestly declared their true wealth they would not only be liable to pay more income tax but could also open many of them to various charges of corporate fraud and malfeasances that could earn them hefty prison terms.
To comprehend this one must understand how most of our “captains of industry”, many of whom sit on the Prime Ministers Council of Trade and Industry, became rich and powerful?
When an “industrialist” launches a new project, the project costs are usually hugely overstated. The suppliers of plant and machinery then pay the promoter kickbacks, which become the promoter capital. Thus, the more the number of projects an individual promotes, the wealthier he or she becomes. But it is not income you can declare. So it gets hidden in a tax haven. This is how the big bucks are made and salted away.
A good part of this money is round tripped back to India via nearby tax heavens like Mauritius or Singapore. Not surprisingly in 2015 the top FDI investing countries were Mauritius (27%) and Singapore (21%). Both are now the home of hundreds of corporate entities that act as a pass through for funds being held overseas for Indians or Indian entities. These countries are little more than cut-outs for monies held in other more distant tax heavens like Panama, Cayman Islands, Bermuda and Lichtenstein. The smaller the country, the more pliable the officials.
The fourteen PSU banks control almost 80% of the commercial credit advanced in India. In addition the government also owns the two big project finance institutions, IDBI and IFCI, and large institutional investors like LIC and general insurance companies like Oriental and GIC. The state ownership of these, with powers vested with the powers that be in New Delhi, political and bureaucratic, ensures that the projects are suitably “gold plated” without any rigorous scrutiny. And why scrutinize when projects seldom fold up and in a system where restructuring means lending more money to evergreen the loans?
The list of NPAs includes almost the entire roster of top Indian companies. As of June 2016, the total amount of Gross Non-Performing Assets (NPAs) for public and private sector banks was around Rs. 6 lakh crore. The NPA figures along with total debt for each of the 49 public and private sector banks were shared by the Ministry of Finance in response to a Parliament question.
According to RBI estimates, the top 30 loan defaulters currently account for one-third of the total gross NPAs of PSU banks. The country’s top five PSU banks had outstandings of Rs 4.87 lakh crore to just 44 borrowers, if borrowers were to be categorized in terms of those having outstandings of over Rs 5,000 crore. These businesses include Essar, Reliance ADAG, Jaiprakash Associates, Adani's, GVK, GMR and Lanco. This stress problem is fairly endemic.
Of the big companies or groups only Tatas, Reliance Industries and AV Birla can be considered free of financial stress. Most, if not all, the money earned by gold plating plant and machinery, under invoicing of exports and over invoicing of imports is retained abroad. Has anyone wondered why the UAE is the second largest destination of India’s merchandise exports ($33 billion in 2015) and third largest source of merchandise imports ($26.2 billion in 2015)?
The UAE is also the largest source of legal and illicitly imported gold. Last year India officially imported over 900 tons of gold worth $35 billion. The mysteriously-owned corporations incorporated in tax heavens like Panama mostly finance these exports. And a good part of the illicitly exported gold also.
According to Global Financial Integrity, aWashington DC based think-tank, Indians were estimated to have illicitly sent out $83 billion in 2017. Where does this money go? Countries like Switzerland that offer banking secrecy usually do not pay any interest on such deposits. So money goes to corporations in tax heavens from where they are invested in businesses world over. Have you ever wondered how many of our top businessmen have managed to become so big overseas so soon?
This is where the Panamas of the world come in. There was a time when Panama in India was synonymous with a cheap brand of cigarettes manufactured by the Dalmia Golden Tobacco Company. In the West, Panama was a man's wide-brimmed straw hat made from the leaves of the Toquilla tropical palm tree. That Panama too is now forgotten.
Now Panama is synonymous with offshore corporations and assured secrecy. The Modi regime also doesn't talk about rampant corruption anymore.

Solicitor Barry Taylor's Former Business Mate Gets Two And A Half Years In The Jug
Labor influencer Wayne Myers getting jail time for his role in the Ipswich corruption scandal must be embarrassing for Big Bazza Taylor, the worlds most touchy solicitor when it comes to his business dealings. Mind you, Taylor did no wrong when he teamed up briefly with Myers in Townsville more than a decade ago, but unfair perceptions of guilt by association may be about to get worse for our much loved legal foghorn. Our receding floodwaters have revealed some home truths about the cupidity of our council, and the fallacy of the Bulletins tub-thumping agenda. Do you reckon that her call for a Qantas boycott was our mayors finest hour? Well, now the she who would be the Battlers Boedicia has gone one better threatening insurance companies with a big stick, which may well end with a more damaging push back than the Qantas call. But spite of all our tribulations, love was in the air during the week, when we endured that annual dork fest of bad poetry and unrequited lust known as Valentines Day and this year, animals got in on the act no no, you grubby lot, not like that, they just played it for laughs. But first Getting Even Since Indias gift to the desecration of Australian native bird life is the unpleasant Indian Mynah, somehow it seems only fair it is a native Aussie bird that is now taking its revenge on an unpleasant Indian miner.
Tumblr media
The row over the state governments somewhat clunky internal factional power play about the protection of the Black Throated Finch habitat which is apparently threatened by the Adani Carmichael mine project is a right old knicker twister. The Astonisher iditor Jenna Cairneys dainties have taken a hell of a contortion, forcing her yet again into unintended humour. First we had two News Corpse journos in the same edition of the paper making exactly opposing claims about the birds. One, The Astonishers John Andersen, who knows about these things being a straight down the line bushie, quoted some of his widespread old timer country contacts that the bloody bird was everywhere, always had been, not just near the mine site. In the very same edition, the Astonisher had lifted a piece by tired old Courier Mail click-baiter Des Houghton trying it on that the bird would become extinct, killed off by feral animals (cats and pigs apparently) if the Adani land set aside for its protection area DID NOT PROCEED. Ando is the far more believable in this face-off, rather than the Alan Jones-Lite Houghton, who didnt explain how the dreaded cats and pigs would be kept out of the protection area signage perhaps?. The finch has become our own native Scarlet Pimpernel: They seek him here, they seek him there, Those pollies seek him everywhere, Journos seek him near, they seek him far, Under sun and under star, They try so hard, but they try in vain, For he eludes them yet again. But Bentley was there to record a meeting between avian cousins to solve the mystery.
Tumblr media
Then enter the obviously discombobulated Astonisher iditor Jenna Cairney, the very same Jenna who gave a good laugh in a recent iditorial when she insisted the Bulletin only did fair and balanced reporting. Deputy Premier The Treacherous Trad came to town to talk about flood recovery measures during the week, asking what could be best done for the victims, but the Astonisher wanted to talk about the Black Throated Finch. Trad swatted away a few weak attempts to engage on the matter, somehow judging that the governments flood recovery measures were surely the overriding topic of the moment. Boy, didnt that make Jenna stampn her feet in rage, she saw red, and fired off a blistering iditorial, suggesting, (topically if unfortunately), that we were being sold down the river which is where a fair amount of Townsville ended just a few days ago. But then, right in the middle of this foot stamping tantrum, this little thigh slapper popped up from nowhere.
Tumblr media
A moment, please (gasp, wheeze, splutter ahem, sorry.) Leaving aside the absurdity of this virtue-signaling boast, this twaddle comes from an iditor who wagged a finger at those who have had the temerity to raise questions about the handling of the flood emergency.
Tumblr media
Even your southern betters arent buying that one they can apparently walk and chew gum at the same time, handling more than one story at once heres just one instance from the Courier.
Tumblr media
Heres a newsflash, dearie the days of outfits like the Bulletin being the gatekeepers of information are long gone, and you no longer set the news agenda. Some Say The Council Over The Years Has Had A Lack Of Vision Any inquiry into the handling of the flood is should not be restricted to just recent events themselves, but should surely delve back into council building policy and approvals over many years, to see why so many inappropriately designed structures, both private and commercial, were allowed to be built on clearly identified flood plains. A Nest read sent is a photo that might help explain the problem he believes this is the TCC building where these decisions were made.
Tumblr media
Mayor Mullet Jumps On The Boycott Bandwagon Again Ms Cairney, under your newly announced tough question policy, any chance of asking Mayor Mullet about her bogan bluster that if insurance companies use southern tradies to do repair work in Townsville, she will name and shame them.
Tumblr media
Even your own reporter, Clare Armstrong (the soon to join the Sydney Telegraph), described this piece of electoral grandstanding as extraordinary. Embarrassing empty threat might have been just as apt. Talk about Qantas boycott redux this implicitly means that your paper, Jenna, will have to be the mayors bully pulpit in this naming and shaming exercise of companies that are major News advertisers, going about their legal business funded by shareholders, and who couldnt give a fig about Mayor Mullet and her barroom style bluster. You OK with that? Or is there the odd tough question you might like to ask your pal the mayor? Naming and shaming? The bottom line, if it is followed logically, is that Mayor Jenny Hill is on the boycott bandwagon again, threatening to call for a boycott of companies who legally, if not morally, use outside tradies for whatever reason (like legally binding existing contractual arrangements). Given her shoot from the lip bravado over several issues recently, Mayor Mullets big stick is in reality a squizzle stick: she must have quite a supply of used lying about. And You Can Add Casual Racism To Her CV, Too Another shoot from the lip, when talking about the two blokes who drowned while ruinning from the police.
Tumblr media
You cant pick your family members? What the hell does that mean? Judge Jenny at her best. Sorry, what was that? Oh, yeah, right, forgot, Palm Islanders dont have a vote in Townsville local elections Well, remember, all you other folks, you can choose your mayor soon, up to you. Ghosts Of Mates Past Coming Back To Haunt Bazza Taylor
Tumblr media
Big Bazza Taylor As reported here recently, solicitor Barry Taylor was once briefly in business in Townsville with convicted briber Wayne Myers. During the week, Chief Judge Kerry OBrien gave Myers two and a half years in chokey, to be suspended after six months, for greasing the wheels of corruption with council and contractor officials in Ipswich.
Tumblr media
As reported here recently, back in the early 2000s, Myers and Taylor tried to start a local teleco company with the council, with Barry charged with roping in local bizoids to pony up $20k each for the venture. The then Mayor Tony Mooney saw the scheme was a financial rip-off, and knocked it on the head. While hes living down that little episode, Bazza now waits to see how big will be the embarrassment of another of his erstwhile clients, Craig Gore. The question here is which will be the biggest embarrassment , Gore refusing to keep his promise to return from Sweden to face trial on multiple fraud charges, (how he was allowed to go only God and a Brisbane judge know), or if he does show up (ring Tab Extreme Bets for the odds on that), is found guilty and cops an expected dozen or more years for his grubby rip-offs. Gore was squired around town by Bazza also in the 2000s, while the shyster was spruiking the completely impossible canal estate scheme in front of the casino. To the best of The Pies knowledge, Taylor had no stake in the venture Gore was only here for a short visit but if Bazza had any sense of shame, he wouldve been red faced when all that turned to highly questionable shit. Probably not, since he only hosted the grub to brown-nose his Labor pals in Brisbane. Wonder if Baz will lead the defence in the unlikely event that Gore does return. Probably not, not at Bazs prices. Puppy Love It was Valentines Day during the week, and public mawkishness was all around, it was unavoidable. But then The Pie discovered that zoos around the world they all regularly stay in touch to talk shop had decided that their animals had been left out of the annual love fest long enough. From San Diego to Sydney, to London and all points around the globe, this was the very punny result.

Finally The Pie normally likes to leave you laughing with a parting joke, but lets break from that rule this week, and ask you to think about this emotive tweets rarely penetrate the Magpie necessary cynicism , but, perhaps because he the father of a daughter, this one hit home for the old bird. Simply but shatteringly highlights the horror of being a school kid America, and the damage being done to an entire generation. It also shows why we are a far saner and safer society, natural disasters and all, here in Australia. A mother in Delaware tweeted this during the week. So my kids school had a genuine lockdown today. Some whack job called in a bomb threat Police came and everything was fine, Thank God! My guys seemed fine when they got home and they talked about it with me, and told me their versions of what happened and then went right into their homework and normal after school stuff, and all seemed fine. It wasnt until later when Vanessa was changing out of her school uniform that I saw this on her arm.
Tumblr media
I say to her, why did you write that on your arm?She says, in case the bad guy got to us and I got killed, you and daddy would know that I love you, and she started to cry (as did I as I watched a little piece of her innocence get stolen away) To know that my 7yo was put in a position to think that thought is absolutely gut wrenching and its killing me inside. Its now been a couple hours, and I cant seem to shake this awful feeling, feeling of sadness, fear, and plain disgusts for this new normal our kids have to deal with on any given day..its a very scary and disturbing society we now live in, and its heartbreaking It certainly is. What have they wrought? Its unfathomable. .. A tumultuous week gone, and all The Magpies thoughts to those getting their life back together. Israel, Sacklers, ‘Black Woodstock’: Your Thursday Evening Briefing
(Want to get this briefing by email? Here’s the sign-up.)
Good evening. Here’s the latest.
1. “Sadly, this is not a surprise …”
That was Representative Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, pictured above today in the Minneapolis City Council chambers. She was speaking after Israel denied entry to her and Representative Rashida Tlaib of Michigan because of their support of the boycott-Israel movement.
They had planned to visit the Israeli-occupied West Bank. Israel’s decision was widely criticized, including by prominent supporters of the country.
But Mr. Trump, who had urged Israel to bar the two lawmakers, welcomed the move, writing on Twitter: “Representatives Omar and Tlaib are the face of the Democrat Party, and they HATE Israel!”
2. Financial markets remain unsteady.
U.S. stocks gained today after Wednesday’s punishing descent, but analysts said the roller-coaster ride was far from over.
Markets around the world are being whipsawed by mixed messages on the state of the trade war between the U.S. and China, as well as by contradictory indicators about the U.S. economy.
Bond markets are increasingly pessimistic. The yield on the 30-year Treasury bond fell below 2 percent for the first time on record. Our explainer on the closely watched but wonky “yield curve,” represented above, likens it to betting on football games.
3. John Hickenlooper is out, but not over.
The former Colorado governor said he was ending his presidential campaign but would give “serious thought” to running for a Republican-held Senate seat coming open in 2020.
Beto O’Rourke, by contrast, continued to rebuff entreaties to challenge John Cornyn, the senior Republican senator from Texas. In a speech in El Paso, Mr. O’Rourke said a Senate campaign would not be “good enough” for this political moment.
He also set a new direction for his presidential run, saying he planned to do more to confront President Trump directly.
4. Tanker maneuvering.
Gibraltar released the Iranian tanker pictured above after Iran promised that its destination “would not be an entity that is subject to European Union sanctions.”
The decision came just hours after the U.S. applied to seize the ship itself.
Gibraltar impounded the ship six weeks ago, saying it was carrying oil to Syria in violation of the embargo.
Iran gave no immediate signal about whether it would in turn release the British tanker it seized in retaliation, but Iranian officials had previously hinted at the possibility of a trade that would de-escalate a confrontation with the U.S. and Britain.
_____
5. Jeffrey Epstein had broken neck bones, a person familiar with his preliminary autopsy report told our reporters.
A statement from the New York City medical examiner’s office cautioned against jumping to conclusions, and outside experts concurred, but the finding feeds the conspiracy theories ricocheting across the ideological spectrum.
Forensic experts said that the injury could occur in a suicide by hanging, as the medical examiner’s office appeared to have concluded in Mr. Epstein’s case. However, they acknowledged that it could also be found in cases of strangulation.
Several investigations are underway into why such a high-profile inmate was removed from suicide watch and left unchecked for hours before he was found dead in his jail cell on Saturday.
_____
6. Subpoenas in Sackler opioid case.
The New York state attorney general, Letitia James, began issuing subpoenas to 33 financial institutions and investment advisers with ties to members of the Sackler family, who are owners of Purdue Pharma.
The move is part of an aggressive effort to track billions of dollars that prosecutors claim the family siphoned out of the Purdue Pharma to hide profits gained from OxyContin, the company’s opioid painkiller.
The company is accused of misleading doctors about OxyContin’s addictive properties and playing down evidence that the drug was being abused, contributing to an opioid crisis that has killed more than 200,000 Americans over two decades.

7. A lasting commitment to coal.
Burning coal, a major source of greenhouse gases, is in steep decline in wealthier countries. But demand is growing in Asia, where it’s plentiful, the appetite for energy is huge and alternatives are fewer.
A new mining project in Australia shows how government support is also crucial. The Adani Group, based in India, will extract coal from a vast reserve and send it back home, to the huge power plant, above, that it’s constructing with New Delhi’s support.
Some of the resulting electricity will be sold to Bangladesh, meaning the project will help ensure that coal remains part of the economies of all three countries — home to a quarter of the planet’s population — for years to come.

8. A chest scar, blackened lungs, a bulging neck tumor.
Graphic images of these consequences of smoking could appear on cigarette packs and in ads next year, the most significant change to the labels in 35 years.
As disturbing as they are, the 13 images are meant to be tamer than the ones that the F.D.A. first proposed in 2011. Tobacco companies successfully persuaded a court that the previous images, which included a corpse, violated their free-speech protections.
It was unclear whether the companies would accept the latest suggestions. Although the rate of smoking in the U.S. has declined to 13.8 percent, there are still nearly 38 million Americans who smoke, and it remains the nation’s leading preventable cause of death.

9. Overstock.com pays a price for romance.
Patrick Byrne, the C.E.O. of the online furniture retailer, pictured above right, has a reputation for speaking his mind with financial analysts. But the company’s news release this week was particularly colorful.
It discussed his relationship with Maria Butina, above left, a Russian accused of being a covert agent for her government, who is now serving 18 months in prison. Mr. Byrne said in an interview he wanted to draw attention to what he considered problems with the government’s case against her.
The release, titled “Overstock.com C.E.O. Comments on Deep State,” sent the company’s shares plummeting more than 30 percent over two days.

10. And finally, a look back at the “Black Woodstock.”
The Harlem Cultural Festival of 1969 had little in common with the messy upstate New York music festival held the same year. It was an urban affair in a park, a series of six concerts rather than a single event, and already in its third year.
But the spirit conjured was not dissimilar, writes Daphne Brooks, professor of African-American studies at Yale University: peace and love, a respite despite the era’s grief and rage.
Our photographic journey back captures the reverential crowds who listened to superstar performers including B.B. King, the Fifth Dimension, Gladys Knights and the Pips, Nina Simone and a youthful Stevie Wonder.
Have a soulful night.

who is leftist? those who always want survive by ASKING others food shelter jobs and bed there are many contradictory things in human life
who is leftist? those who always want survive by ASKING others food shelter jobs and bed there are many contradictory things in human life, like leftist and rightist and other people are sometimes right or left. A leftist person will ask many questions only he will not create any new industry or will not do his work properly when it is given. example even one person is given good convent education and master degree in engineering he will not go to job. he will have twenty reasons for not doing work. whereas a poor man without education or money will set up tea shop hotel and be successful in life every society is formed on the basis of mutual accommodation and adjustments, every society should take care of individuals when he faces difficulties in life. But there is a new class of leftist politicians who are misusing these noble intentions to create a Political persons leftist ideology – which basically means asking hundred questions and stopping all decision making. Only those who are extra smart will benefit, not those who do their business or work and manufacture some goods or provide good service In politics some people say farmers are poor they should be given much money by government, but government already gives money to poor people through mneraga and also nearly free ration to all poverty people. Business man and farmer : The name of Hitlers party was nationali SOCIALIST party,  what hitler and stalin did was basically imposing the will of majority and killing the desenters. A person opening company to manufacture goods or provide services, can say he is opening company to manufacture this — product or provide this service — and say he will get so much profit, then he can allow public to purchase share of the company. if company make profit the shareholder will benefit. a company owner if he takes loan in name of company and the company fails then the comapny owner does not lose his personal money / all share holding public loses money. Simiilarly a farmer can also take loan like a company owner, and public can invest in crop and if crop of farmer fails then only public will lose. farming will be like business, farmer will not loose every thing Some ladies say they are victim but many poor women dont get maintainence on divorce only karishmakapoor gets twenty crores on divorce though she is rich. Ladies threaten men with police case now and man lives in fear. but ladies leave husband and lives with other men getting divorce payment from husband. Thus the WHOLE FAMILY consisting of the mother in law, girls mother and both parents, small children all loose. The pleasure of the aggressive women only wins. Christianpeoole open church and aided school in every village and government permission is not required, they get foreign money. they get job as teacher and marry hindu girls by showing good jobs, They have festival in every church where they convert hindus and say they are fresh harvests Muslim say all hindus are kafir and like ISIS they hate all non believers, ISIS wll kill all kafirisis killed yazdis because they where not muslims they raped even ten year old girls and sold yazdi girls as slave in iraq Many politicians say low caste people are not taken care, but they will oppose economic criteria in reservation. so only some people from low caste will get benefit,, the people of same family of low caste people wil become doctor IAS etc but these rich people who benefit will unnecessarily create hate against other caste. so that their children will also get benefit whereas children of poor low caste people will not get jobs education. The number of people benefiting from admission in MBBS or number of people getting government jobs will be limited to some families, whereas the needy people from lower castes who are poor will not get benefit our leftist and congress politicians keep asking questions like this religion is victim, that caste is victim. women are victim. but in reality poor people do not get any benefit, they get just pitance . but politicians make huge money and buy all the land of farmers with corrupt money. after some time farmers will lose land to corrupt politicians. People like former jharkand chief miniter looted three thousand crores and send to Indonesia, he is now in jail. Others invest huge amount in buying house at London and opening refinery in srilanka for Rs.25000 crores lefitst people will only ask questions and confuse people they will not allow progress betterment, by solving issues. because of confusion anyover-smart rowdy type person can take otherinnnocent person to court. only lawyers and police benefit out of ladies favourable laws which are brought in by left and congress politicians. Actual poor women or poor people do not benefit only high society ladies go to court and torture poor men and also poor people low caste people do not actually benefit. Majority of women who care for family will not file false cases, only those women who don’t bother about family or children will file false case and try to get huge money from innocent men and men family. There are a lot of family loving women whose life has been spoiled by such rowdy women trapping men in consensual relationship and booking false case The leftist family based and congress politicians use this tactics of victims and create hatred and every body is asked questions, but corrupt politicians make money. by always asking questions and allowing law to be broken like road encroachment eri lake encroachment etc everybody will suffer. all should ask balanced questions and think about common welfare If our indian business man makes money every poor indian is made to feel jelous. but if foreign company like nestle procter gamble makes money everybody is happy? even big port owned by foreign company . If many Indian private company opened in defence corridor then a lot of jobs will be created. If more ports are opened more people can easily do business and manufacturing By having clear good tax law, those traders who know how to cheat government of tax and those who give bribe benefit. a young engineer or MBA trying to do new business will not know to cheat tax, so he cannot sell goods at the rate which a tax cheating business man sells and make profit only lawyers police some feminist and corrupt family based politicians benefit by only asking questions and doing noshing for fifty years Job left : Give mnrega and small jobs to every body, poor will get fifty rupess daily, but they will always remain poor. thefamiily based parties will loot and buy all the land of poor farmers Right : Given opportunity to all people to do job, allow manufacturing unit to come up easily, allow young people to start new companies easily. theygiven good price for farmer produce, but will not waive loan of rich farmer. Corrupt and lazy government employees should be sent out, only those who are sincere and have capacity to work should be allowed to work in government offices. Otherwise the PUBLIC IS THE SUFFERER. Even in paramilitary and police many very weak persons are there, they will not be able to catch thief or challenge enemy soldiers. High Salary given to government employees should be accountable and useful to public Industry left : 30.01.2015 jayanthinatarajan congress union minister wrote a public letter to shrirahul Gandhi. She explained how no industry was allowed to be opened by rahul Gandhi, the party wants commission from industry. Seventeen points of jayanthinatarajan, report in India Today financial express rught: Priority to bringing in Easy uniform, tax law which youngsters can follow. There were difficulties because two tax one central and one state sales tax was merged. Now all going smooth. Ease of doing business is a priority for rightist government Economy Left : India can grow if there is a) foreign investment b) if the people in India who have money have a favourable business climate . Both foreign and locaninvestment need government where they get land, bank loan, quality labour with reasonable labour laws. Left and regional parties will give land and helpful labour law adjustment only if they are given money, mostly Multinational companies with local politican agents or underworld guys like Dawood terrorist lined shahidbalwa of 2G fame will get the favourable climate for setting up of business. Other new business men small or big will find it difficult to start company, without given money to political families Right : There should be fair price MSP for farmers, there should be favourable claimate for industry like land, electricity , reasonable labour. This will ensure jobs for new engineers and MBA. There should be no crony capitalism, but let Reliance ,Adani, Sun TV, GMR invest in crucial infrastructure like cellphone, port, petrochemical, why should multinationals make money in India? Caste left : They will make all caste fight each other. they will make state fight each other, they will made north fight against south. they will encourage kashmir and bangladeshi to freely operate terror right : They want liberal acceptance of all caste, not much special favours to any caste. But reservation and protection given Secular left : They will encourage all extremist of all religion, they will allow foreign funds for conversion and extremism in India. They are so inhuman towards women of minorities, if the men of majority community are punished for domestic violence and not giving maintanence, why can’t men from minority community do same. The left says men of minority community will be arrested, why this fear? Because they know that these men are very verypatriarchial and will not adopt liberal values of present society implemented world over Right : They are liberal but will not allow anti national extremist. They are fair to women of minority and to genuine minority like parsee, jain, sikh, Buddhist , who do not want to change the demography of India. No misuse of right to open education institutions, for example, if there are already ten medical colleges of the minority out of the total of fifteen medical colleges, why should they be allowed to open more professional medical colleges and loot money. Let there be no education based on religion in any country, all the countries in the world should ensure that the children of all societies are taught same liberal lessons, where every faith of the world is treated with respect, not tolerated and also women are treated equally on par with men, they are not kept restricted to kitchen and always asked to remain at home. Then there won’t be any cultural issues on immigration to any country nationalism left : they will question army and every body they will not believe our army they will believe enemy army and press to sum up : The leftist intellectuals will try to encourage aggressive women to question the all members of the family and after raising many questions / conflicts, the aggressive women will be helped by lawyers will walk away with heavy alimony by selling family property. The poor people will get benefits and be lazy for ever so that government will collect tax and feed them, some aggressive/ conflict loving farmers, labourers etc will stop working and will only question / demand everything from government, while other law abiding people with self respect and sense of karma will work hard and pay taxes The minorities will keep on claiming discrimination and will want to follow in-human medival personal laws, convert people using foreign money, increase the population and change the demography of the society and get all the freedom to reduce the majority to minority, but all their questions / conflicts have to be tolerated by the majority and all the medical colleges and schools should be allowed to be opened freely by minority All regional leaders will raise caste, religion and language difference and say this region requires special status, that language is discriminated etc. they will keep asking many questions and create conflicts, so that their families can rule the district or state. The people from lower caste who are enjoying reservation for four generations as doctors and IAS officers will ask lot of questions and create conflicts, so that people do not ask them why they should get reservations when their four generations are already well settled doctors or IAS The left government will allow encroachments / given title deeds, on all busy roads which are used by lakhs of people daily, this benefits onlyfew thousand people, but lakhs have to suffer. The government also allows few thousand people to encroach water bodies to and crores of public will lose water permanently The left will encourage giving high salary to Air India Staff and HAL, and allow import of arms / defence equipment from foreign countries through brokers and commission. They will question all big indian business owners and ABUSE them as GUJARATIS MARWADI etc., but they will allow foreign companies to own like Nestle to Dubai Port authority The leftist will allow crony capitalist to furnish by creating lot of procedures and complex tax laws / land ownership law. Only crony capitalist will evade duty and given money to corrupt politicians. The new engineers and technically qualified youth will find impossible to open new manufacturing or service company Socialism is necessary, but it should be done by RESPONSIBLE people, like the communist party of china, which has helped millions of people come out of poverty . But political party based left will create hundreds of conflicts, but will never adjust solve problems and move forward. They will make all beggars and dependent on politicians for alms, only some smart without manufacturing or service providing talent will be ruling others . Our country will become like Venuzuela and African countries without any law and order and full of naxalites  https://www.indiatoday.in/india/north/story/jayanthi-natarajan-letter-shocking-revelations-rahul-sonia-gandhi-congress-237975-2015-01-30

Anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare alleged that the NDA government was more concerned about industrialists rather than farmers.  He also claimed that nearly 12 lakh farmers have committed suicide in the last 70 years in the country. “The government is more concerned about the industrialists like Ambani, Adani, rather than farmers,” he said while addressing a public meeting in Madhya Pradehs’s Satna. “I had written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in which I categorically stated that farmers were not getting adequate price for their produce and the government is directly responsible for this,” he added. The veteran social activist said that after coming to power, Modi had said that efforts would be initiated to rid the country of corruption, but it has not happened. “Rather, only a lot of publicity was done on this. The government lacks the will power (to make the country corruption-free),” he said. Hazare recalled that whenever they held protests against the governments, they were put into jail. He claimed that the Congress could not win the last elections due to their protest (over the Lokpal issue). He said that for the protest he is going to launch from March 23 in New Delhi for a stringent Lokpal law and over farmers’ issues, he has been touring the country since the last two months. “We only want that common people get their dues and farmers get satisfactory price for their produce,” he said.  The Rediff.com : 7th.

Have your say about anything on the blog comments, they run 24/7. http://www.townsvillemagpie.com.au/solicitor-barry-taylors-former-business-mate-gets-two-and-a-half-years-in-the-jug/

A Nest read sent is a photo that might help explain the problem he believes this is the TCC building where these decisions were made. Ghosts Of Mates Past Coming Back To Haunt Bazza Taylor Big Bazza Taylor As reported here recently, solicitor Barry Taylor was once briefly in business in Townsville with convicted briber Wayne Myers. During the week, Chief Judge Kerry OBrien gave Myers two and a half years in chokey, to be suspended after six months, for greasing the wheels of corruption with council and contractor officials in Ipswich. Lets get straight to the point anyone want a shag? Stop! Youre making me tawny! Talk birdy to me. So glad we could support each other on this day, because as they say love is a cattlefield. Of course I mean it! Id love you to the baboon and back. Alpaca my bags. May our love never tapir off. Seal-iously, we think youre all keepers. A Warning Sign In These Trouble Financial Times And our gallery of the week from Trumpistan Finally The Pie normally likes to leave you laughing with a parting joke, but lets break from that rule this week, and ask you to think about this emotive tweets rarely penetrate the Magpie necessary cynicism , but, perhaps because he the father of a daughter, this one hit home for the old bird. Have your say about anything on the blog comments, they run 24/7. http://www.townsvillemagpie.com.au/solicitor-barry-taylors-former-business-mate-gets-two-and-a-half-years-in-the-jug/
