I used Pearl’s Compact Traveler kit at a festival this weekend. It all fits in one bag that’s the size of a cymbal bag and I was able to put it in the overhead compartment of my flight. I flew with a drumset and didn’t have to check a bag!! I had to move around between stages all weekend and I can carry the whole kit with one hand. I got a ton of comments and compliments from the artists and the audience, and the sound guys were blown away and so surprised with how great it sounded out front! There’s definitely more than meets the eye here, and if work with it a little bit there’s so much you can do with it, from normal kit sounds to hand drum-like sounds, to really interesting processed sounds. I’m looking forward to putting some triggers on it in the studio too.
