AdJMA Hosts 'Tanglaw ng Marketista 2024': Illuminating Path in Affiliate Marketing

The Adamson Junior Marketing Association (AdJMA) formed an event, "Tanglaw ng Marketista 2024: Navigating the Path towards the Light of Affiliate Marketing,” on May 2, 2024 at the Adamson University Theater. 

In opening the event,  Dr. Maria Christina P. Concepcion, Adviser of AdJMA, warmly welcomed the Marketistas.

“As the Adviser of Adamson Junior Marketing Association, it is my great pleasure and privilege today, as we gather not only to celebrate collective achievements but also to embark on a journey of discovery, enlightenment, and empowerment through the course of this event,” she stated. 

The Dean of the College of Business Administration, Dr. Ruben Nayve Jr., was also present and stated in his key message a congratulatory message to AdJMA for coming up with an Academic Event despite the heat index the students have been dealing with. 

On the other hand, for a more insightful event, the AdJMA invited different speakers to inspire our Adamsonian Marketistas. Including the CEO and Founder of Transform Media, Mr. Jordan Willy Patente, who emphasized the pivotal role of content marketing and affiliate strategies in achieving success, and Mr. Jeric Arboleda, who is a Wealth Coach and Real Estate Proprietor, delivered in his speech the importance of integrating different aspects of business operations to achieve long-term success. 

With the clear success of the event, messages from Korina Rocas,  Vice President for External Affairs, and Cristhel Jane Solomon, Vice President for Internal Affairs, expressed their gratitude to those who devoted their time and effort to their organized academic event.

The AdJMA Executive President, Mx. Mel Bertsan Mendoza, ended his speech, stating, "It is a testament to the strength of us being one marketing community, the depth of our relationship, and the power of our laban marketista is indeed in our hearts.” from AdJMA, ending his speech beautifully with their powerful message to their fellow Marketista, inspiring them to be united. 

“As ‘Tanglaw’ signifies light to illuminate one’s path, I trust that we, AdJMA, have illuminated the brilliance of marketing and highlighted your potential as future marketers” a closing remarks from their Directress for Academic Affairs, Ms. Rheendiel Abad. With the help of this academic event, it will inspire them to thrive and be one in their community they belong to, helping each other in the path they will take.

This Pokémon Powerbank is so cute 😄 Arguably the most coveted prize, won this cutie earlier in the raffle in #EntrepCaravan by JMA ✨ I'm just glad that my *little test* worked 😁 I love how the Universe, Law of Attraction, and the Power of the Mind works. Perhaps there's Synchronicity at play too - not just a mere coincidence. Before I went to the seminar, I told myself that the day wouldn't pass without me winning a prize (anything). I even jokingly asked my mom to perform sorcery to make me win any item lol 😂 ('cause almost everything she say happens). Nothing serious, just for fun; to try my simple *test*. DexxeD: raps his way through

Dexter Simon B. Ramos, a former Adamsonian makes waves through a streaming platform.

You may not know him as a student; Being a local artist, maybe. 

From his birth name, saying it’s from him — Dex-said when asked about how his screen name is pronounced.

It started when he was in grade 2 or 3 when his cousin was listening to Eminem. At first, he was amazed how his cousin could speak words fast; that’s when he started to like rap music. He sometimes attends events, to feed his passion for music. 

His influences made him think on perspective and differently. He mentioned Kendrick Lamar, Nas, Eminem, 2PAC, and Mac Miller as his international idols; Loonie, Apoc, and Kjap for the local scene. 

“Kapag hindi ko pa tinuloy ‘tong gusto ko, only goal lang naman siguro sa perspective ko: sumaya ka,” He believes that having a proper education is the foundation of building things, but he chose to switch paths to pursue his dream. The goal is to reach the people who need to be reached, who needs your art.

DexxeD chose music as a form of art; by releasing music videos, his perception is reflected to share his passion for the world. 

“Naglalakad lakad lang ako, nagcocommute ako, may naisip akong ‘uy okay ‘to a!’ o may nabasa ako ‘okay ‘tong gawaan ng kanta, ganyan a’. Mostly kasi gumagawa ako medyo personal na sa tingin ko, hindi ka naman maglalabas ng kanta na para sa’yo lang,” as he shares how songwriting takes place. 

Moneypulated – The title speaks for itself. It doesn’t talk about one thing. It is about what happens to society, boils to that. e.g., game fixing, vote-buying, and politics. It’s because of money. 

Espasyo – His first song that he ever wrote. It is a variety that speaks about comfort zone and about people that don’t maximize the liberty that is given to them — a lot of questions.

Grounded 

“He gives you time to gather your thoughts; hinihintay ka niya kung kailan ka ready, para maayos yung record. Open siya sa input ko. very chill,” Aminah Badawy shares her experience upon working on their collaboration — ‘Espasyo’ 

Jesse Rey Baban, a former college professor of his, tells how DexxeD as a student: “Malaki ang potential. Magaling siya, nakikita ko naman dun sa paper na pinapasa niya. Very inquisitive sa mga nangyayari sa mundo, na bukas ang isip niya na matuto sa mga bagay pero at the same time may sarili din siyang prinsipyo,”

A friend of his, Jayson Villafuerte sees him as: “Radical thinker, medyo malalim din yung perspective pagdating sa life in general but has wisdom. Akala mo walang masyadong pake, walang masyadong say sa mga tao around him pero kapag nakita niya yung tropa nya need ng help, di niya tinitigilan hanggang makatulong sya ng sobra,”

DexxeD claims that it’s been hard being a rising artist and he is still in the process of discovering, molding, and pursuing. He is willing to do things to find the different flavors that would possibly fit him. What motivates him upon pushing is his dream — the reason why he’s still kicking.

U-Pink at UAAP Game Day

Elections and the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) season are now in progress.  De La Salle University (DLSU) and the University of Santo Tomas (UST) urge fans of their current sides to wear pink on match days.

Adamson University (ADU) has been outspoken about its Presidential Candidate and support for Vice President Leni Robredo. On April 18, ADU announced on their official Facebook page (Adamson University) that every Adamson community member is encouraged to wear pink to every Soaring Falcons game day. #KulayRosasAngBukas and #AbanteBabae were used as hashtags. In the comment sections, Kakampinks expresses their love and support.

Adamson University expressed its support for their team by donning PINK shirts and masks on Game Day for ADU and NU's match.

“Behind the scene with Diwara Production’s Hacienda Marilao”

 “Hacienda Marilao '' is one of the three musical plays that will be presented on the ComMusical 2024: Tanghali Ay Nagniningning sa Tinig ng Sining.” on May 20, 2024, commencing from 10 a.m to 5 p.m  at the Adamson Theater. 

The musical play “Hacienda Marilao” by Diwara Productions deals with workers' call to be given fair attention to those in positions who continue to oppress workers, no matter how hard they work everyday. 

Cydee Cabato, director of the said play encourages Adamsonians especially Communication students to watch their anticipated musical play. “Maliban sa kaabang-abang na istorya ng mga manggagawa sa Hacienda Marilao, the people must anticipate the various emotions they’re about to feel ‘pag sinalubong na sila ng mga tauhan ng Hacienda Marilao.” she stated. 

“Constant rehearsal lang talaga, marami kasing kailangang maging pulido: blockings, acting, vocals, and choreography.” added by director Cabato. For them, rehearsing for their upcoming play is really important and at the same time their eagerness to improve and the determination that their production has, really expresses the confidence that they have in order to give the best performance the audience deserves.

Aside from rehearsing, the mental and physical health of the cast and their production team is really their number one priority. “Kailangan laging galingan but at the same time, ginagalingan din sa pagpahinga, syempre importante din yung health ng talents kaya dapat mindful din sa pagkakaroon ng sufficient rest amidst the very hectic and exhausting schedule.” stated by  director Cydee Cabato. 

 “Halo-halong emosyon ang maaring maramdaman ng mga magiging manunood nito.” Director Cabato said.  Diware production wants to give their full out best performance and showcase their talent to the Adamsonian Community.

Falcons off to a great flying start as enrolment commence

Adamson University (AdU) continue to render a marked increase of enrollees for academic year 2019-2020 after they had opened doors for incoming freshmen students last April 22, 2019.

Within its first week, a 38% inflate with AdU’s enrollment rate has been recorded comparative to last year’s statistics. And as the month of May came forth, slots were being filled in by hundreds of new Adamsonians.

According to Mr. Benjamin Felix A. Urdano, Head of Admissions & Students Recruitment office, this has been a good start for the university and its performance which is greater than last year.

The university offers a wide range of undergraduate courses and educational programs with the lowest tuition fee among Catholic Universities in Metro Manila.

As of Day 12, College of Engineering has the most number of enrollees followed by College of Business Administration, College of Science, College of Pharmacy, College of Architecture, and College of Education and Liberal Arts respectively. Statistics are still suspected to increase given that the enrollment period is until the month of July.

Adamsonian Experience

Right after junior high, I've had a hard time deciding on what school should I attend that would be fit to my chosen strand which is STEM ENGINEERING. My parents wanted me to take an entrance exam on different schools like letran, feu, spum and so, I did. Later on, as I was having a research about schools that majors engineering, Adamson was on the list, so I checked all the informations & requirements that I need to have for enrollment. And finally, I have accepted in AdU being in my chosen strand. I was in a co- institutional school before which means i have make some adjustments since Adu is a co- educational school. My first day was not so good because i'm bad at introducing myself infront of the class. And so the days, weeks, months goes by, I have made a lot of friends. They were so nice and fun to be with. I’m just so happy being here in AdU. Others says I made a good choice to study here in Adu and some others says the opposite. They would never know what is it feels like to study here in AdU because sadly, they’re not studying here. The teachers are so good in teaching and handling their students. My "klasmeyts" are so approachable and kind. The facilities can makes me feel as if I'm in the old times and that's amazing. The learnings are non stop, not only in acadamemics but also learnings in life. Our school os both active in academics & sports. Adamson is not just a school to me, It’s my second home because it has help me to mold into the person that I am right now. And with all of that, I can proudly say that I am Adamsonian.

FIRST YEAR IN ADAMSON UNIVERSITY AS SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL

Students, Teachers, Canteen, Buildings, River, Foods are things first thing I saw in the morning. June 14,2017, my first day as an Adamsonian, as a senior high school. Adamson was my dream school back when I was in junior high school, many people told me that their is nothing special with this school but I still tried and enrolled here. As day pass, I learned things that I never knew about my first year in Adamson University.

    Lets first focus about the negative things I had experience. First one is the first mass I back in June, their is a lot of students who are there in the parish but the parish to small to handle a lot of sections and students, other students are at the SV building roaming around, others are participating at the mass and some are just talking with each other outside the church, my suggestion is that if the place is small just limit the people who would attend it. Second one is the Barrio Fiesta in the Filipino week, our teacher told us that the only people who will eat at the school activity are only the judges and us the students who prepared it so we just cooked foods that are only good for 60 persons including the judges and our sections, but when the activity starts were shocked that even the college students are invited and lot more people in short we didn't eat at all, we never tasted the food that are for us. In my case, their is no problem if they invited the college students and other staff but they should have told us that we should prepare a lot of food for us and for them, so everyone can eat and enjoy the activity but at the end its still fun. Third one is the “Paskuhan” only college students are allowed, when we all know its for the adamson students, they should have allowed us to come because we are also part of the school same goes to the Falcon fete last February 14. Lastly is their Facilities they should renovate some things and make them more look usable.

      Lets now move on to the Positive and Happy experiences that I had encounter. First on is the big campus and teachers that welcomed us on our first year, they are all my inspiration because they always teach us to be the best and don’ t settle for less. Second one is the Falcon run, I enjoyed it even if its too early to wake up but alteast it was all worth it. Even the Intrams week, what I loved the most their is when I was the one who will represent our cluster as their muse, it was the best experience to be their and to be part of the program. Intrams week was the best week for all of us, during the try out and even the games everyone is enjoying what they are watching. One more thing that I love the most in Adamson is the UAAP, I always watch the games of mens basketball and I always take a picture with the players and I think that is the best because you are watching your school athletes representing our school, Adamson University. And lastly is when Adamson Chee rdance won as CHAMPION, that is the best experience I had because Adamson never won as champion before in the said competation and in my first year here, they won as Champion, the beast feeling is when other university always tells Adamson as losers and nothing atleast we once stood up and became champions in this season.

   I know many things will still happen in my journey here in Adamson even if its negative or positive I will always be proud to my dear university, UNAWAKANAHIMO!
