I can’t wait for Leti to get some magic. Somebody take her to a bokor or teach her some Voodoo/hoodoo stat. Seeing that I’m assuming Christina and her father weren’t blood descendants, I’m assuming anyone can learn their type of magic as well. I’m also sure that Tic’s ancestor took the book of names and that she might actually know how to get in the garden. Maybe Leti and Tic are suppose to be Adam and Eve. The picture in her room and the glamour of Tic is making me suspicious.

Saiben Dotes, a Life Defined by Change

“And that brings us to the 70’s, and the various werewolf supermodels who promoted your clothing,” I say. “Tell me, which of them were you closest to?”

“The same one everyone loved...” he sighs. “Islande Louissaint. Even then, even before I knew how big her career would get, before she got married and became Queen Islande Dubois of the Roogarou, I knew the Haitian werewolf who walked into the casting session on that rainy day in 1972 was something special.

“It was the beginning of the ‘black is beautiful’ movement. Werewolves of color were adamant that their unique looks were something to be loved. I agreed, but I also wanted to cash in on all of that. I created a collection of outfits inspired by the traditional garb of the werewolves of the Serer people of Senegal, the wolves of ancient Egypt, and the wolves of Islande’s own Haiti. Islande insisted on having creative input on the outfits, and I acquiesced, figuring a Mendalian like me might not be able to fully understand the style of the werewolves of Africa and their diaspora.

“For the Egypt outfit, we created a modernized version of the traditional Anubis look, inspired by the Afro-futurism movement. The idea was to make Islande look like she was the queen of a new Egypt in the stars. The ancient design was recreated with space age materials.

“The Serer outfit was a take on the traditional Serer wrestling uniform, inspired by the garb of the women of the Black Power movement. It was slightly modified for the practicalities of mauling on behalf of the werewolf women on the tough streets of the ’70s Bronx. They actually used it in a blacksplotation/weresploitation combo movie about a precognitive Serer immigrant werewolf, played by Islande of course, trying to save her brother from the mob. Apparently Serer werewolves have a predisposition for precognitive abilities, to the point it is part of the Serer people’s traditional religion.”

“I understand that far from waiting for your blessing, Islande made the Haitian-inspired outfit without your help.” “Yes, she made it as a tribute to her mother, who had been a mambo in the service of the loa protector of werewolves in Haitian Voodoo, Marianette of the Dry Arms. Despite what that bokor that Sigi hired said in your book, she is not a demon – merely a little cruel. But I digress. The outfit she designed was sort of a ‘proto-Afrogoth meets Black Power’ look, with dark sunglasses, a turtleneck and black leather jacket, with earrings and buttons shaped like owls – another one of Marinette’s symbols.”

Dotes lights a cigarette.

“I remember one time in 1978, Islande went missing from an event we were having in New York. We searched everywhere, and were about to file a missing persons report, when my assistant Carlos found her howling to the music and dancing with Grandmaster Flash at a Bronx block party. She refused to come back to the show, and nearly mauled Carlos when he tried to force her to return.” Dotes laughs a wheezing, coughing laugh. “You should have seen the scar she left on him. I got there soon afterwards. At that point she was crying because I, in my infinite stupidity, had scheduled the event for the anniversary of mother’s execution by Papa Doc. You know he had put out a bounty on all the black-furred canines in Haiti, including werewolves.”

“Shit,” is all I can say to that.

“I sat by her as she cried for the rest of the night,” Dotes sighs. “I sent her back to Savannah on the first flight out. When I saw her next, she had taken all that pain and anger and created a look we now know as the Rừng Sác War Poodle. Shaved midriff, big afro with the fur on the hands and paws styled into big old bracelet and leg warmer shapes, you know the look.”

“Why was it called the Rừng Sác War Poodle?” I ask.

“It was a reference to the Rừng Sác Special Zone of the Vietnam War, also known as the Forest of Assassins. It was basically a big salty marsh, not unlike the bayous and swamps the Roogarou call home. Islande once told me that the Rừng Sác poodle look was based on the odd haircuts the Roogarou soldiers wore to help keep their joints warm as they moved through the water. Any Roogarou who got drafted always got sent to Rừng Sác, so the horrors of that place became a major influence on Roogarou culture of the ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s. It was then that the Rừng Sác War Poodle look became popular with white werewolves, particularly those who weren’t members of one of the ethnic routs.”

“You mean the WASP werewolves who didn’t have a rout that they could join, thanks to the Marrok family making anglophile asses of themselves,” I sigh.

“Yes, Islande hated the way they appropriated something she had made for the Roogarou, who you must remember, took her and the other Haitian Refugee werewolves in when no one else would. But in the end, the Rừng Sác War Poodle became the cliche fur style of the ’80s.”

ERA UMA VEZ . . .

Parece que virar sapo junto com alguém pode realmente aproximar as pessoas… Quem diria que essa poderia ser uma atividade tão romântica? De qualquer maneira, não estava nos planos de Tiana se apaixonar, ainda mais por alguém irresponsável e chamativo como Naveen. Mas o destino raramente quer saber o que você tem a dizer; ele está feliz em te dar algumas rasteiras, apenas para testar se consegue levantar novamente com seu próprio esforço. Infelizmente para ele, Tiana nunca teve medo do trabalho duro e do esforço.

Se acostumar com a corte não foi tão fácil para uma garota simples de New Orleans, mas o marido e os sogros foram essenciais para fazê-la se sentir acolhida. Imediatamente após se sentir em casa em Maldonia, começou a investir, empreender e trabalhar. Mais do que isso, seu ritmo frenético também estimulou Naveen a buscar uma vocação, que ele já conhecia há muito tempo. Quando encontrou algumas composições do marido no lixo do quarto, Tiana o encorajou a iniciar uma carreira, e ela mesma se candidatou para agenciá-lo.

Com uma produtora musical e uma rede de tabernas e restaurantes que abria uma sede em um novo reino a cada seis meses, Tiana tinha muito em seu prato e praticamente não tinha tempo de se sentar. Quando ficou grávida do primeiro filho, foi uma surpresa não ter acabado explodindo. De maneira surpreendente, Naveen se revelou um ótimo pai, apaixonado pelo filho e sempre disposto a lidar com as piores fraldas para deixar Tiana descansar um bocado. Ele sempre sabia uma boa canção para acalmar os pequenos.

Eles ficaram conhecidos como o casal empreendedor. Enquanto Naveen era talentoso, Tiana cuidava dos negócios. Todo homem precisa de uma grande mulher por trás, certo? Nesse caso, porém, Tiana estava por trás, pela frente, pelos lados, por cima e por baixo, em todo canto, não deixando Naveen esquecer de seus compromissos. No final do dia, você poderia ficar cansado apenas em observá-la… Azar dos filhos, que teriam de lidar com os altos padrões da mãe.

Apesar de desejarem grandes coisas para o futuro, eles ainda possuíam uma moral intacta e não hesitavam em auxiliar os mais necessitados no caminho, o que os tornou imediatamente amigos. Juntar Naveen e Aladdin talvez não tenha sido uma boa ideia para suas esposas, que sofrem com os planos de jericó bolados pela dupla.

FAMÍLIA FACILIER — Facilier nunca modificou sua natureza de enganador, o que voltou a causar problemas para Naveen e Tiana. Antes de ir para as Terras Distantes, o bokor se disfarçou como outra pessoa por alguns anos, conseguindo chegar ao posto de conselheiro do lorde Naveen. Foi Tiana quem desmascarou sua farsa mais uma vez, e desde então ele jurou vingança contra os Dimaldonia. O casal Dimaldonia teme pela saúde de seus filhos, sabendo o quão perigoso e poderoso Facilier é, e estão preocupados em vê-los durante a Seleção.

FAMÍLIA BEAUMONT — Existe algo que se encarregou de unir Naveen e Tiana muito mais do que a situação dos sapos: fofoca! Apesar de não admitir, o casal gosta de uma boa, e a família problema de Galvadon está sempre dando o que falar. O último escândalo dos Beaumont acaba sempre caindo na boca do povo e, por consequência, na boca de Naveen e Tiana também. Sabendo disso, Adam os acusou de espalhar alguns rumores — ninguém sabe se verdadeiros ou falsos — sobre sua família, mas os Dimaldonia nunca confirmaram ou negaram nada, apenas se mostraram ofendidos (e então ignoraram, pois possuem coisa melhor para fazer do que alimentar pequenas brigas familiares). Isso não deixou Adam feliz, que nutre um pequeno desprezo pela família mesmo nos dias atuais.

The Cambodian Jungle Resort Built to Fend Off Poachers

Architect Bill Bensley is on a quest to build sustainable luxury hotels that give back to their country’s ecosystem

Bill Bensley’s publicist has warned that “he can be hard to pin down”; it may be the biggest understatement of the century. Bensley “currently has 40 projects on the go,” the publicist explains (forty!), all of which have one thing in common: their desire to eradicate the eco-footprint of tourists without compromising their experiences.

Bill Bensley has made his mark combining his life’s passion for sustainability and conservation with his natural ability to design outstanding, daring, and innovative hotels like nothing else on Earth. The designer, who hails from the States but lives in Thailand, has built radical, eco-friendly hotels within disused turn-of-the-century university buildings in Vietnam, and on the grounds of a former Malaysian Sultan’s palace.

His next project, Shinta Mani Wild, due to open in November 2018, is set on a remote, unprotected, and unchartered wildlife corridor between two Cambodian national parks. The corridor is one of the last places in Cambodia where you can see wild bears, elephants, gibbons and tigers, roaming free. It is, in a word, spectacular.

This remoteness doesn’t sound like it’d lend itself to the build of a luxury hotel. However, “luxury is no more!” according to Bensley.

“Each residence has been designed to evoke the feeling of being on a 1967 safari in the jungle with Jackie Kennedy”

“For me, torture is a posh Michelin-starred restaurant,” he carries on. “Give me street food and lighthearted locals any day. I am on a valiant pursuit of worldliness. The new indulgence is understanding the true meaning of experiential travel. Truly seeing the world has absolutely nothing to do with thread count.”

Bensley’s rambunctious manner cloaks the architect’s very serious desire to bridge the gap between high design and conservation. Bensley’s hotels provide experiences which are luxurious, but are also designed to sustain local communities in radical ways.

It all began in 2004, when the architect became involved with the Shinta Mani Foundation in order to provide workplace opportunities in the Southeast Asia region he lives and works in. The Foundation teaches locals how to cultivate their environment with sustainability at heart, and has gone from strength to strength, with hundreds of graduate success stories already to their name.

Many of the students of the Shinta Mani School of Hospitality go on to work in the flourishing regional tourism industry around Siem Reap, should they want to. Once the camp is up and running, priority access to the school will be given to underprivileged locals from the Kirirom, Kardamon, and Bokor national parks of Cambodia, where work is harder to come by. Over 100 homes and 1,000 water wells have been constructed since the Foundation began.

The Shinta brand (there are three Shinta hotels in Siem Reap, although none nearly as bold or as remote as his latest offering) boasts an interesting public-private partnership model, which in practice means that tourists pay big money to stay at Shinta Mani Wild, while the not-for-profit Shinta Foundation provides teaching and, thanks to Shinta Mani Wild, a base for scientific research.

Researchers will stay at the camp and document animal migration patterns and flora and fauna, exploiting the camp’s remarkable position in the midst of the jungle – this research is bankrolled by the revenue generated by the luxury hotel.

The biggest issue that the luxury resort faces is poachers. The remote Tmor Rung area, which houses Shinta Mani Wild, is increasingly a target for poachers, but Bensley believes he can deter them with the work of the resort. The architect is working in collaboration with local experts to overcome the poachers, partly by providing more knowledge to local people about the ways they can profit from their environment, rather than abuse it. Now, after 14 years, the Foundation has sustained enough local interest to warrant building this daring new hotel, which will provide more jobs for graduates and fuel further research.

“It was the Shinta Mani School of Hospitality that first created a need for a hotel,” says Shinta’s director Brad Akins. “Through extensive community development programs targeting rural families identified as being most in need, we are able to make meaningful progress.”

Bensley’s public-private partnership model also sees him work in a not-for-profit capacity with the Wildlife Alliance, Fauna & Flora International, The Royal University of Phnom Penh, and the Cambodian Government, to assure that the luxury retreat is as respectful to the local natural environment as possible.

Visitors, on the other hand, are set to have a blast. Guests will stay in 100-sqm tents built over natural flowing waterfalls and waterways, which Bensley says provide natural air conditioning through the tent’s rattan floorboards. Tent designs “bring the outside in” with hand-designed, printed sofas, while outdoors, large iron baths perch by the water’s edge for an evening’s relaxation.

A “mess tent” will serve locally foraged foods at meal times, and each residence has been designed to evoke the feeling of being on, in Bensley’s words, a “1967 safari in the jungle with Jackie Kennedy.” Their spa will use only natural products, and their ‘Landing Zone Bar’ will be open for guests to sip G&Ts from the edge of the sanctuary’s biggest waterfall. This will be radical luxury, without compare.

Visitors can hike to waterfalls, go reservoir swimming, bungee jumping, kayaking, dirt biking, mud wrestling, and even support a local raid for illegal poachers (if justice is what you look for on a safari break). Bensley has curated the activities with the knowledge of two local conservation experts, Mr. Munny and Mr. Det, who Bensley hired to bridge his vision with their homeland.

“They are well acquainted with the locals, the community and the associated problems,” Bensley tells me. “Munny and Det are our on-site community reps, and have regular meetings with the village heads about the illegal logging, the access bridge, the garbage dump and the illegal poaching of wildlife.”

Bensley says the true ‘secret’ to this brand of sustainable tourism is actually rather simple: reducing the size and scope of projects.

“What I try to promote on my projects across the world is a low-volume, high-yield type of tourism,” says Bensley. “In places of environmental sensitivity, I would champion a smaller number of rooms with twice or three times the price-tag. This works: smaller is better. And I am standing by this philosophy with Shinta Mani Wild. On our land, which is the size of Central Park, we could build 315 keys, easily, but we are building 15 keys instead – which is the best way to save energy that I can think of!”

The downside to this strategy is that, beyond the sustainable business model, only the “extremely wealthy” will be able to afford a pair of those 15 sets of keys, Bensley admits.

Those wealthy tourists, however, are pawns in Bensley’s strategy to “give back” to Cambodia. “We want to ‘give back’ an intact forest environment of big trees and an abundance of the native wild animals,” Bensley says. “And ‘give back’ a good example of why conservation is much more profitable than extraction. We are determined.”

DOSARUL COLECTIV | Continuă audierile la Tribunalul București

Tribunalul Bucureşti continuă joi audierile în dosarul “Colectiv”, în care sunt judecaţi patronii clubului şi fostul primar Cristian Popescu-Piedone.

La termenul trecut, două femei care au reuşit să scape nevătămate din incendiul de la clubul Colectiv au fost audiate de judecători.

O tânără pe nume Andrea Bokor a declarat, în faţa judecătorului, că a ieşit din sala unde se ţinea concertul trupei “Goodbye to Gravity” cu doar câteva minute înainte de izbucnirea incendiului, deoarece i se făcuse rău, notează Agerpres.

“În seara aceea, m-am dus cu câţiva prieteni în clubul Colectiv pentru a asista la concert. Erau foarte multe persoane, de ordinul sutelor. Lumea era înghesuită ca sardelele. Ca la oricare alt concert, lumea nu părea deranjată de înghesuială. La un moment dat, mi s-a făcut rău. Am ameţit şi l-am rugat pe prietenul meu să mă scoată afară. Din momentul în care mi s-a făcut rău până la ieşire am făcut cam o jumătate de minut. Nu începuse spectacolul de artificii. Am ieşit şi după un minut am observat că vine lumea afară. În primele secunde, am crezut că doar e o pauză de concert, însă după o vreme am văzut panică şi fum. Eram la trei metri de uşa de la intrare. Am apucat să văd flăcări în partea de sus şi fum. Ne-am îndepărtat să lăsăm oamenii să iasă. La un moment dat, ne-am apropiat de intrare pentru a-i căuta pe prietenii noştri. Se vedea la propriu o grămadă de oameni în fum negru. Erau persoane care nu mai puteau să iasă singure şi se blocaseră. Erau mulţi care ajutau din afară, îi prindeau şi îi trăgeau, la propriu, din grămadă. Ba chiar au fost unii care au intrat înăuntru după prietenii lor. Am auzit din interior ţipete ale oamenilor care nu puteau să iasă”, a povestit Andrea Bokor.

Ea a precizat că nu a văzut ca în clubul Colectiv să fi existat extinctoare şi nici uşi pentru evacuare în caz de incendiu.

Tot la acest termen al procesului “Colectiv”, a fost audiată o altă supravieţuitoare, Ana Maria Adam, care a reuşit să iasă din club imediat după izbucnirea incendiului, nefiind rănită.

“În seara incidentului de la clubul Colectiv era destul de multă lume, dar nu era înghesuială. Cred că erau 100 de persoane. La prima rundă de artificii de lângă schela metalică, m-am speriat. Am zis: ‘Artificii? Nu e bine’. M-am tras în spate. Era ceva, un simţ. Am simţit că ceva nu e în regulă. I-am zis prietenei mele: ‘Hai la toaletă şi apoi mergem afară la o ţigară’. Când am ieşit de la toaletă, care era lângă bar, am văzut că tavanul arde şi flăcările înaintau spre bar. Venea vâlvătaia. Am văzut că focul înainta bizar de repede. Mi-am ţinut respiraţia şi am luat-o spre ieşire, profitând că era culoar liber lângă bar. Unii oameni nu se speriaseră, erau calmi. Probabil aşteptau să vină cineva cu un extinctor. La ieşire era deja înghesuială şi am fost ajutată să ies de prietena mea. Îmi pierdusem rucsacul şi nu m-am mai aplecat după el. (…) După ce am ieşit din club, am luat-o la stânga ca să facem loc şi am dat de o uşă legată cu un lanţ. Un băiat mai masiv a rupt lanţul, însă uşa era blocată de un zid. Am sunat la 112 şi am văzut că se spărsese geamul de la uşa de la intrare, dar nu se mai vedea nimic. Era totul negru. Între timp, au venit cei de la SMURD şi scoteau oamenii spre ambulanţe”, a relatat Ana Maria Adam.

În dosarul “Colectiv” au fost trimişi în judecată: patronii clubului – Alin George Anastasescu, Paul Gancea şi Costin Mincu; Daniela Niţă – patroana firmei de artificii SC Golden Ideas Fireworks Artists SRL, Cristian Niţă (director) şi Viorel Zaharia (pirotehnist), precum şi persoanele juridice SC Colectiv Club SRL şi SC Golden Ideas Fireworks Artists SRL.

De asemenea, au fost trimişi în judecată fostul primar al sectorului 4 Cristian Popescu-Piedone, trei angajaţi din cadrul primăriei, Aurelia Iofciu – şef al Serviciului autorizări comerciale, Larisa Luminiţa Ganea – consilier superior, Ramona Sandra Moţoc – referent superior, ambele în cadrul aceluiaşi serviciu, dar şi pompierii Antonina Radu şi George Petrică Matei.

Carnaval Activity Week, Eindhoven

Még novemberben kezdtem el nézegetni a lehetséges event-eket, amikor megakadt a szemem a Carnaval-on. Bevallom, főleg az agendában lévő sörös korsók száma fogott meg először. “Végre valami, ami nem robotokról szól” felkiáltással írtam rá Beára, hogy mi is ez, meg tényleg annyi a sör mint ami az agendán van? (még több is volt)

Mondanám, hogy kicsit félve indultam meg első külföldi eventemre, egyedüli magyarként, de a hajnal 3-as indulás miatt eléggé álmosan indultam és inkább azon törtem magam az út során mindenhol, hogy hol tudnám lehajtani a fejem.

Megérkezve Eindhoven-be felpattantam a buszra és egyből megcsapott a nyugat szele, mert ingyen wifi és usb portok voltak rajta. Éreztem, hogy ezek után már nagy baj nem lehet.

A busz pályaudvaron már várt a hostom és türelmesen megvárta, míg mint egy jó túrista lefotóztam a leparkolt biciklik hihetetlen számát.

Ezután volt szerencsém a hét során először megtapasztalni azt a 30-50 perces bicikli utat, amit minden reggel és éjjel meg kellett utána tennem. Meglepő módon minél józanabb voltam, annál lassabb voltam. Arra a következtetésre jutottam, hogy ez annak köszönhető, hogy pár sör után már nagyon leszartam és csak mentem egyenesen. Voltak szerencsésebbek, akik fele ilyen távolságban se laktak, de én legalább kijózanodhattam mire hazaértem minden este és nyugisan átaludtam az estéket.

Az event bulis jellegét jellemzi, hogy rövid kártyázás és név tanulás után rögtön első este egy koli pincéjében International Night-tal nyitottunk. Mindenki nagyon imádta a zsíros, kolbászos, hagymás, paprikás kenyeret, nem riadtak vissza attól, hogy se késem se villám, így téptem a zsemlét és mártogattam a zsírba, amikor a szeletelt kenyerem már elfogyott. A pálinkát viszont elkeresztelték a pokol italának, orvosi szesznek és még hasonlóan szép dolgoknak. Egyedül egy török srác volt róla pozitív/ semleges véleménnyel: “heh..tastes like alcohol”, mit ne mondjak egyből egyik kedvencem lett :)

Miután elfogytak a nemzeti kaják és piák biciklire szálltunk és elindultunk a belvárosba. Eindhoven fő utcája, Stratumseind, arról híres, hogy 250 méteren kb. 50 kocsma/club van. Na mi általában csak egy kocsmába mentünk, a Tipsy Duckba, amivel a helyi LG-nek szerződése van és minden tag olcsóbban kapja ott a sört.

Mivel a Carnaval előtt voltunk egy nappal már elpakolták az asztalok, székek nagy részét és letakarták a biliárd asztalt is, hogy minél nagyobb felületen lehessen táncolni. Ki is használtuk minden este.

Mielőtt áttérnék a kövi napra, ahol már jobban megküldtük, tartanunk kell egy perc néma csendet a sör méreteknek és áraknak. Egyrészt mást nem isznak csak sört, másrészt 2-3 dl-es poharakban adják és a diák kedvezmény nélkül 2,5€ -ért. Diákként pedig 1,5€ volt egy pohárka sörike :(

A második napnak már jelmezben vágtam neki és alváson kívül a haza útig nem is vettem le.

De igazán jól jött a plusz réteg, mert -6 fokban lefagyott ülésű biciklivel, folyton eltévedve betekerni fagyos élmény lett volna. Így viszont bármennyire is szétfolyt a szemem és az orrom, nagyban élveztem a napsütéses reggelt.

Nem vagyok egy nagy reggelizős szóval én vagy vajas zsemlét ettem vagy magában falatoztam egy mazsolás zsemlét, ami egyébként rohadt finom és a hét végére a kedvencemmé vált. Egyedül az rontott rajta picit, hogy ugyan ezeket ettük ebédre is, mert magunknak csomagoltunk. Én úgy voltam vele, hogy legalább kevesebbet kell sörre költenem este, de a török és spanyol srácok morogtak egy picit.

Említésre nem méltó játékok után elérkezett a nap fénypontja a Pûlluh Rijk (ejtsd Pülle Rájk), ami egy mini BME feszthez hasonlítható leginkább, csak ők csütörtök délután 4-től este 7-ig jobban berúgnak és nagyobbat buliznak, mint mi itthon 3 nap alatt

Itt találkoztam először egy hagyományos zenéjükkel (veretős-mulatós), ami ha megszólal egy buliban, akkor leülnek egymás mögé sorokba az emberek és elkezdenek evezni. Ez mind oké lett volna, ha nem egy széttáncolt saras talajra huppantak volna le úgy, mintha patyolat tiszta padlószönyeg lenne.

Itt találkoztam azzal a szokásukkal is először, hogy golf és ping pong labdákat visznek magukkal bulikba és ezeket próbálják belejuttatni másnak a korsójába, akinek büntetésül le kell húznia a piáját. Én látva egy srác arcát miután eleget tett a szabályoknak inkább a gyáva megoldást választottam, lefotóztam és instára postoltam az egészet. De egy nagy taps Robertnek, egy csodás szervezőnek, hogy lehúzta a sörét nem is egyszer, amilyen figyelmetlen volt :D

Miután fáradtra táncoltuk magunkat, tartottunk egy kis közös kajás pihenőt, majd közösön indultunk el megint csak a Tipsy Duck-ba még egy-két sörre és táncolásra.

Itt találtam meg a Farkas jelmezem mellé az első Piroskámat is, akinek sajnálatos módon töke volt. De alakult ez még máshogy is a hét folyamán… Volt szerencsém a szebbik nem Piroskáival is összetalálkozni pár kocsmában a későbbi napok folyamán.

Következő nap, péntek reggel a szervezők is kicsit megőrültek, reggelihez egy rekesz sört hoztak. Kezdeti megrökönyödés után mindenki eliszogatta a zsemle mellé.

Első programunk talán az eddigi legjobb city tour volt amin eddig résztvettem. Eindhoven Bucket List-re keresztelt játék során különféle feladatokat kellett 4 fős csapatokban teljesíteni. Büszkén állíthatom, hogy 1-2 kivételével mindegyiket teljesítettük így az első helyet is elvihettük.

Kedvenc momentumom talán az volt, amikor a portói Pedro odament két anyukához, akik épp babakocsijukat tolták és megkérdezte tőlük teljesen ártatlanul, hogy: “Can I kidnap your child?” Természetesen kapott egy nagy WTF-t majd elküldték a francba. Lelkesedésünk nem lankadt és tanulva hibánkból ezek után olyan gyerekekhez mentünk oda, akiknek nem volt a közelben egy szülője sem :)

Miután fölényes győzelmet arattunk a többi csapat felett, benéztünk egy diákszövetkezet saját kocsmájába, ahol megtanulhattuk a holland csapolási technikákat, illetve egy rövid DJ Workshop-on is részt vehettünk.

DJ-s részt gyorsan otthagytam mert hallásom nincs sok és a sör meg egyébként is jobban érdekel.

A 2 dl-es sörméret miatt elég gyakran kéne a pulthoz menni, ezért minimum 4 sört szoktak kikérni egyszerre a hollandok. Emiatt mi is azt tanultunk meg, hogy hogyan kell egymás után 10-20-80 poharat megtölteni úgy, hogy egy csepp sör se menjen mellé.

Ezután jöhetett a Walking Dinner nevű program, ahol a csapat 3 felé oszlott és 3 tag albérletében lettünk megvendégelve három különböző fogással.

Én a szerencsések közé tartoztam és húslevessel kezdtem majd fagylalt és végül palacsinta fogadott a harmadik házban. Valószínűleg jobban jártam mint azok akik húslevessel még a hasukban indultak el bulizni a gyönyörűen feldíszített kocsmákba.

Szombat reggeliről csak távolba bambuló másnapos fejekről tudnék fotót ideilleszteni, szóval azt átugorva egyből a vonatállomásra jutunk. Ugyanis elkerülve az Eindhoven-i tömeget, a parádét egy 20 perc vonatútra lévő kisvárosban, Marheezeben nézzük meg.

Itt készült a rohadt menő csoportképünk is.

Csodálatos nap volt, gyönyörű napsütés, tálca számra bolti árban sörök. A felvonulás pedig egyszerűen elképesztő volt.

Az egész megkoronázása egy igazi falusi buli volt a helyi művelődési házban, ahol 10 éves kisgyerektől a 70 éves bácsikáig mindenki együtt ropta az őrült zenére.

Az este végén még megtanultam egy újabb helyi szokást… Ha valaki elordítja magát, hogy “Schrücke Brücke” , vagy valami hasonlót, akkor mindenki elkezd rohanni a legközelebbi bokor felé és beleveti magát. Alábbi képen épp az látszik, ahogy másznak ki a bokrokból a bolondok.

Ezzel sajnos végéhez is ért az esténk Marheezeben, mert el kellett érni az utolsó vonatot. De annál nagyobb ESTIEM Spirit-et azóta se tapasztaltam, ahogy a 20 perc sétát végigénekeltük a sötétben, ahogy elkezdett esni a hó. ~ Varázslatos volt ~

Az este folyamán még közösen meglátogattunk egy Kávéboltot, ahol legnagyobb meglepetésemre még kártyával is lehetett fizetni. Alig mertem hinni a szememnek :O

Ahogy az várható volt mindenki el is álmosodott utána és aránylag korán, éjfél környékén nyugovóra is tértünk. A szokásos 30-40 perc hazabiciklizés után természetesen.

Így a vasárnapot, az utolsó teljes napunkat, frissen és üdén kezdhettük.

Szükség is volt az erőre, ugyanis a Tie Drinking, vagy Nyakkendős ivás annyit takart, hogy kapsz egy papírnyakkendőt, amin 15 kocsma van és mindenhol kapsz egy pohár sört.

Úgy kell elképzelni az egészet, hogy 20-an megyünk egyik kocsmáról a másikra, mindenhol kikértük a sörünket és 15-30 percig táncoltunk a tánc parketten vagy ahol csak akadt rá hely.

Ki kellett használni a nyugis délelőtti-délkörüli időt, mert délután 3-tól már olyan nagy tömeg kerekedett, hogy egy embernek adtunk 10 nyakkendőt, hogy hozza ki nekünk is a söröket ha már sorba áll :D

És akkor jöjjön egy kis montázs a kocsmákról amiket végiglátogattunk, hadd beszéljenek a képek helyettem.

Útközben valahol elvesztetem a fonalat, meg számolást, de a végére rájöttem, hogy az összes kocsma neve ki lett húzva, szóval több sört nem adnak nekem és ez csak azt jelentheti, hogy mindegyiket végigjártuk.

Szóval még egyszer utoljára betértünk a Tipsy Duckba, hogy végigbulizzuk az éjszakát.

A szerencsésebbek, mint a képen látható kalapos Adam, hazaugrott a bőröndjéért és még részegen mászott fel a repülőjére haza Svédországba, a kevésbé szerencsések mint én pedig még hazamentünk egyet aludni és másnap reggel egy közös reggelivel zárhattuk a hetet és szomorkodhattunk még közösen pár órát, amíg a repülőnkre vártunk.

Legjobb hetem volt talán az életemben, olyan szoros barátságok kötődtek olyan rövid idő alatt… leírhatatlan. Én csak ajánlani tudom és ha tehetem jövőre is mindenképp elmegyek!
