Some people will be out here writing shit like a Brit getting an overnight train (extremely rare) leaving at 11:30pm (most trains from major stations stop running between ~11pm and ~4am) on Christmas eve (trains don't run after 6pm on Christmas Eve/NYE and don't run at all on Xmas/NYD) between two UK cities that are a 3 hour trip at most and that's if you're hitting every tiny country station along the way
Meanwhile I'm checking that my character's brief distracted geological ramblings are factually accurate by checking a research paper on quartz inclusions and asking a geologist to proofread them
We are not the same
#am i insufficiently kinglike?#London to Cardiff has a direct line#which takes on average 2-2.5 hours#Manchester to Glasgow is 3.5 direct at the longest but usually shorter with a transfer#Glasgow to Edinburgh and vice versa is usually 45-1.5 depending if you get the express or the local#there is a regular lner service between London and Aberdeen which takes about 9 hours and that is the longest one I can think of#Edinburgh to York is usually 4#Edinburgh to London is usually 5#it takes less than 2 hours to get from Edinburgh to Newcastle#and NONE OF THEM RUN ON CHRISTMAS#you know what you can get? a bus. and it will cost you through the nose#actually you can get a bus between any of these locations because intercity buses are a pretty regular thing#and if it's not a holiday they're usually pretty affordable#the buses between Edinburgh and Glasgow are almost comparable to the train you're looking at a difference of maybe half an hour#they've got that shit down to a fine art#she did fix them for me too lol

Jaipur-Ajmer (One Day Trip) in Just 3600/-
Hi, Hope you subscribed to this blog and if not yet then do subscribe this blog with your email in the right sidebar and get information about how can you travel the world in minimum budget. So, let’s move on to the blog. This blog will tell you how I decide to go Ajmer-Jaipur trip. Basically, this all happens in minutes. I have no planning to go anywhere at this time but unfortunately, I went on this trip.
This all starts with a Coffee Shop (Cafe Coffee Day) when I am taking a cup of hot coffee. I’m browsing the internet and doing my work. (Business Related Work). Suddenly I got a click in my mind that I have two days holiday because my classes have a break because of some issues in Teachers. Then I think why not to go to “Ajmer”. I wanted to go here for more than a month just for visiting “Ajmer Sharif Dargah”.
After this, I’m started exploring how to go there. I found that there are lots of air-conditioned buses go there and the ticket fare is also in my budget. I quickly book a ticket for a bus for today evening or I say night because the time of departure is 11:05 PM. After that, I go to back to my home and take a nap of 4 hours After that I have taken dinner and leave my home at 8:00 PM for going to the bus pickup point. The pickup point is “Hanuman Murti, Karol Bagh”. If you are from Delhi then you know where it is. But after arriving there I realized that I arrived here too early. I have two hours to spend so I decided to go to the Connaught Place because the distance between Karol Bag is approx. 4-5 KMS. I take the metro and go to Rajiv Chowk or Connaught Place. Connaught Place is at Rajiv Chowk or Rajiv Chowk is at Connaught Place. Whatever you say
I spend approx 1 hour here by just walking and really the Connaught Place in the night is the best place for pass your time because at this time there is very less crowd and also the Air is cool so you can explore better. Also, the lights are making this place more beautiful. After spinning some time here I go back to the pickup point and start waiting for my bus. Also not only me was there. There are more than fifteen peoples waiting for there bus as I remember.
After waiting for a while the bus arrived. Actually, I surprised when the bus arrives at sharp 11:05 PM at the pickup point because I never hope for punctuality of transportations in India. But now the bus has arrived and I step onto the bus. I also want to say one thing here that this is going to be my first solo bus travel in my life. I was actually not scared because “Darr Ke Aage Jeet Hai”. And here the journey begins. I have taken the sleeper seat. So I go and try to sleep but I can’t because I already slept for more than 4 hours at home and I am not interested in taking another nap now So I just put my earphones on and listen to some music and watching outside from window. This is my favorite work while traveling. As I remember I slept for two hours in the bus 2:00 AM to 4:00 AM and at 4:00 AM I woke up and realize that the bus is stopped at a restaurant or I say at a “Dhaba”. I take a cup of Coffee and some chips. At 5:00 AM I realize that the bus has arrived at Jaipur and its raining heavily here bus currently I not have to go here because firstly I have to go to Ajmer and my ticket is also for Ajmer. At 7:00 AM I arrived at Ajmer and go to the hotel by taking a local Auto Rickshaw. And here is an interesting thing to say. What you think that how much I pay for a Hotel. Any Guesses? Actually, I get a hotel at just RS 1/- yes just a single rupee.
I booked this hotel for making my trip. I also not believe when I book but when I Check-in then I realize that yeah! this is real. So, here’s a tip that never takes quick decisions in booking hotels. Firstly search for hotels and keep searching till you not get a perfect one for you. This hotel is very close to the Dargah and good enough. The problem is that there are four people in one room, but that does not matter for me because I just have to get fresh here. So, I get fresh and go ours for the Dargah. I went to the Dargah before three years with my father so I remember somethings that what to do there. And for location, I always use Google Maps. I also recommend you to use this. You can go anywhere in this world without any problem with the help of Google Maps. After visiting Dargah I decided to go to the Station and check out if any train going to Jaipur this time. The distance between Dargah and Ajmer Railway Station is about 1 KM. You can walk to the station or you can take a rickshaw but they charge you about 60-70 rupee. I walked into the station and also buy some Bananas because I was hungry.
After reaching Station, I found that there are Ticketing Kiosks available at the station and also a person was there for help you. I tell him that what the time of next train going to Jaipur. He said me that Jaipur Intercity Express is arriving in ten minutes. I ask him about fare in Non-AC coach. He said to me “75”. So I take a ticket and then go to the platform from which the train is coming. I also surprised here that this train is on time. Yes! this train is also on time and not even a minute late. Also, this is going to be my first experience in a non-ac train. And believe me, it’s more interesting than the AC coach.
In this, you can feel the nature and fresh air. I love it . I have arrived in Jaipur at 112:00 PM.I booked a hotel online iat459 near Station. Again I use Google Maps to go to the hotel. My hotel is also about 1 KM far from the station. The hotel experience is very good. The hotel is clean and the staffs of the hotel are also awesome. After getting fresh I take the lunch at the same hotel and then book a cab for Jaipur SightSeen. This will cost me 1000/- RS (including Parking and Fuel). The taxi condition is Good and Air Conditioned. The Driver is so polite and experienced. He takes me to all the famous places in Jaipur. LLike: Birla Mandir, Jaipur central museum, Jaipur zoo, Ramnivas bagh, City Palace, Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mahal, Jal Mahal, Kanak garden, Amer Fort, Mountain Lake, On the Way Places Statue Circle, Raj Mandir, Pink city. Especially The Amer Fort,This is the most beautiful place to visit in Jaipur. The Fort is so big and has a number of rooms. I also get confused that where to go inside the fort. But I able to find all the places.
The good thing is that the Fort is maintained and you can go almost every were in the fort. The fort is more than 426 years old. This is really a great experience. I love this place and spend more than two hours here in exploring the fort. You can also find a video of this fort on my YouTube Channel. So do check it out .
After that, the drive drops me near the Narayana Circle Bus Stand. I booked a bus again for going to Delhi back from Jaipur. I have to go the same day because tomorrow is my class. The bus timing si 11:50 PM. There is still 2 hours remaining. So I walk around and found McDonald’s, So I went there and take a Chicken Maharaja Mac Meal and sit there and write the Introduction Blog which is already published on 27th of July on this site. After that, I take a cup of Cold Coffee and get back to the Bus Station. The bus arrives at 12:00 AM. This time again I take the sleeper berth so I step into the bus and just slept. I arrived at 4:20 AM in Delhi. The bus drops me at “Dhaula Kuan” at 4:20 AM and it’s raining a little bit. I have to go to Dwarka So I asked an Auto and he said me that he will charge me 300 RS. I check OLA and found that it will drop me in just 190 RS in OLA Share. So, I booked it and It arrived in just two minutes. The is also another person in the car who is also going to Dwarka but he is going to Dwarka Sector 7 and I have to go to the Dwarka Sector 16. Firstly we dropped that person and after that, I go to my place. After dropping him, the rain is started and raining like Cats-And-Dogs. Waterlogging is started on roads. But the driver dropped me at my place and I reached my home in Dry condition .

HOW TO TRAVEL AROUND IN VIETNAM?
TRAVEL GALLERY VIDEOS BLOG CONTACT
Traveling around Vietnam is a fantastic adventure that I recommend to anyone planning to visit this fascinating country. Yes, scooters are usually the most popular among locals and tourists, but in the long run they feel uncomfortable and quite slow, which is why I would not limit oneself only to them. Despite the fact that neither buses nor trains reach high speeds on Vietnamese roads or rails, they offer greater comfort and peace of mind on further journeys. During our trip to Vietnam, we tried most of the available ways of transport: we drove four different rented scooters with different degrees of wear; a comfortable inter-city coach that allows you to sleep on half-seated, half-lying seat; dirty and stuffed city bus in Ho Chi Minh; a train with excessively turned air conditioning; a taxi with a crazy driver ramming everything he encountered on his way; and we also sailed by a ferry resembling a party cruise on Zakynthos ... in Asian style. Are you curious about the details? Let's go…
MOTORCYCLE / SCOOTER
The top way of transport for any backpacker! Apparently you can buy a used Honda or Yamaha for as little as $ 400, drive through whole Vietnam and at the end of the journey sell it to another willing traveler - at least you get refund for fuel! I’ve read about such stories before I left and heard about them on the spot from people who actually did it. The most popular route is Ho Chi Minh - Hanoi, so I recommend you start in Hanoi, on the contrary, and buy a motorcycle there, because it will definitely be cheaper. Will you need documents and skills? Well ... not necessarily ... you can learn how to drive in practice, and driving license is just a piece of paper with a photo on ... But remember to always put a helmet on - it's an obligation!
You do not have to buy a scooter right away - you can rent it. Prices per day vary significantly and depend on the owner's mood. One thing is certain - haggle as much as you can - in the end you will overpay a bit, but it will not cost you a fortune. For one day of renting a motorcycle, we paid about USD 8-12 on average.
HO CHI MINH CITY BUS
It's not easy to get on with the timetable, or find the right bus stop, so it's best to use the help of Google Maps, which will tell you which bus and where you should get on. Regardless of how many stops you go, the price is one: 10,000 VND (= 0.45 EUR). There is no cheaper way to travel around Saigon, and the distance between destination points can be large. City buses are not the newest, they do not have air conditioning, nor comfortable seats, but you will not meet tourists there, so you will certainly feel a Vietnamese atmosphere. How do you know where to get off? The easiest way is to count down the stops - at most, you will mistake for one or two - do not count on a chat with the driver, unless you know Vietnamese, although he will not understand you anyway, because you probably have a bad accent.
INTERCITY COACH
This is definitely the best way to travel around in Vietnam! Coaches are comfortable, air-conditioned and punctual! If they can, they move fast, although on worse roads it can rock in them hard...but don't worry! These buses are equipped with special single stacked seats with a place to stretch your legs - a real luxury! In addition, you can not enter with you shoes on inside - you have to leave them in front of the door and get the passengers' slippers, which I would rather avoid because you can simply walk in your socks or barefoot. While traveling, you can use free Wi-Fi and recharge your phone. Every three hours, there are stops at special parking lots, where you can use the toilet in a hangar, or buy something to eat and drink. In the evening, the driver dims the light and plays calm music, so that you can relax or have a nap - and the lamps placed above the seats allow for example to read a book. You can find coach timetable f. ex. from Ho Chi Minh HERE.
TRAIN
Trains in Vietnam are not a popular means of transport. At least such an impression was made on us when we entered the deserted main station in the six-millionth Ho Chi Minh, which was situated somewhere in the suburbs of this vast agglomeration, in a rather sordid district. Even a taxi driver, taking us early in the morning to the train station, did not know exactly where it was and on the way he asked passers-by for directions ... Make sure you get your train tickets the day before the departure. You can do it at the train station or online (f. ex. HERE) because, as it turned out, during the holiday season they can be sold out. Wagons on trains do not divide into classes, only on types of seats, and the carrier offers various types of them: hard seat, soft seat and a bed in a four- or six-passenger sleeping car. The prices depend on the distance and type of seating, f. ex. a transfer from Ho Chi Minh to Mui Ne on a soft seat costs 16 USD, and to Hanoi 64 USD, which is not so cheap, so I recommend checking domestic flights before the journey (f. ex. HERE) too. There is a restaurant car on the train where you can buy several dishes such as chow mein; and snacks, like: sliced aw mango with salt and chili. On the train, the air conditioning is turned up to the max, so take a warm sweatshirt and covered shoes with you, because it can get really cold! The only places where you can get a little warm are the toilet, restaurant car and the last vestibule between the cars, where smoking is allowed.
FERRY
It's an easy and cheap way to reach the Vietnamese islands of Phu Quoc or Con Dao. Travel guides usually advise against traveling with this mode of transport, because ferries often sail overloaded (they do not have a luggage limit) and do not pay attention to the sudden changes in the weather. Despite the threats, there is no shortage of people willing to cross the waters to the islands, so it is necessary to book tickets at least a few days before departure. Travel to the island of Phu Quoc from Rach Gia, which can be reached directly by bus from Ho Chi Minh, is very popular. Even in the off-season it is difficult to get vacancies, as we have experienced ourselves. However, ferries on Phu Quoc also depart from the town of Ha Tien, located near the border with Cambodia and usually they are not so full, so check both options. Tickets for the ferry can be bought HERE (though it's not easy to figure out how to get them), and the price for a ticket f. ex. from Rach Gia to Phu Quoc is USD 20. Traveling by ferry is an attraction in itself. After boarding, the crew takes passangers' luggage and places it on the blades or, when there's no more room, in the aisle. Fortunately, they hand out bottled water and hand towels to moisturize to all the passengers. There is one bathroom on the ferry, which is better not to use. Passengers sit below deck in a room resembling a cinema room. All seats are directed towards the black wall, which have two screens the size of old televisions. Throughout the trip, the crew is playing video performances of Vietnamese pop stars, that look like a poor quality talent shows. Cat's music, rumbling from the loudspeakers, does not let you collect your thoughts, let alone trying to talk to the fellow travelers. Nobody, however, feels overwhelmed, apart from these few lost tourists ...
TAXI
The first rule is: discuss the price before the ride, otherwise you overpay a lot. The second rule is: always try to bargain. The third rule is: pay once you get to your destination. By following these guidelines, traveling by taxi will not cost you a fortune. I recommend hiring a taxi only in exceptional situations and for short distances, because the price for tourists will always be higher. The prices vary greatly, depending on the distance, the place where you catch a ride and of course your bargaining skills. For example: we paid about 10 USD for the transfer from the airport in Ho Chi Minh to the hostel (about 9 km).
Which of the above ways of traveling do you like most? Or maybe you have tried Vietnamese airlines and would like to share your experience? Please let me know in the comments :)
