I wonder if you could do anything with a drag racing AU 🤔 it’s been awhile since I’ve watched a professional race (I don’t know anything about street drag), but I used to watch it with my dad and we went to a race once in Jersey together which was fun, so now I want to extract a solid story idea from it

#hetalia au #if there were ever a type of machine I would be tempted to draw #in fanart #it would be top fuel dragsters #anything else I would put the bare minimum into and probably get wrong #meanwhile I painstakingly design dragsters for hetalia characters #I will learn car facts for this #i will interview my father for his mechanical expertise #perhaps even call up my grandfather and grill him too #this is an odd tangent to end up on but the nostalgia is strong with this one #anyway I actually wanted to figure out how I could shoehorn this into a fanfic idea but #head empty #sadly #i really need more non historical aus tbh #fic ideas #actually it’s also kind of interesting to me how unwritable drag racing feels as an idea #the tension of a drag race is over in seconds #by it’s nature #how do you find an engaging long form story in that?#is it even possible to do?#at least nascar gets multiple laps #mechanical failures crashes and the rare tie #and then between races time #that’s what you get to work with #(I still don’t know anything about street racing)#hmmmmmmm #this is almost a personal challenge now #perhaps if I did draw fanart #the story would solidify around that #hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
