New Moon Dreams - Fanfiction by Lunaden on Quotev.com

So I know I posted that one Ladrien one shot, but you guys have never seen any other pieces of my writing because I don’t mainly post them on here. SO here’s my first fic, something I published about 2 months ago on a website called Quotev.com (a really awesome site), a OC x Chat story I call New Moon Dreams.

Chapter 1:

~~~The Lone Wolf~~~

Alexia Darner was just a plain and ordinary teenage girl from Knoxville Tennessee - that is, until her grandmother shows up for a visit, bringing a surprise Alexia won't soon forget. Now, 3 months after her grandmother's death, life changes dramatically again for the now double life teen. Fate sends her on an adventure, her family moves to Paris, a dream turned reality, but will it be everything she wanted?

Third Person POV

~ Alexia ~

Alexia Darner turned to look at her adopted sister Claire Prexly. They had just boarded the plane and found their seats but Claire had wasted no time in pulling out her MP3 player to listen to her favorite tunes.

Claire was adopted, but for awhile, she never thought she would be. Kids were most often adopted young, or not at all, but this teen had been lucky when she landed on her 6th foster family's doorstep. The Darners had fallen in love with Claire, especially their daughter Alexia who had been super excited to no longer be an only child, and she was soon adopted. Unknown to her though, Alexia had a huge crush on her. She loved everything about Claire, her pixie cut brown hair, the hazel eyes that hid behind her glasses, her cool and caring personality, everything.

Alexia turned away from Claire and retreated into her mind. Everything that happened in the last month seemed like a dream, it had definitely been something.

The past month had been a rollercoaster for the two girls:

- Claire found out she was going to be adopted

- Alexia discovered her crush on Claire

- Claire was rejected by her own crush

Now you may think that's not very much compared to others, well, you would almost be positively, for certain, 100%, wrong (now I don't know your lives so I can't judge XD). When you had a life like Alexia, then things were sure to be incredibly ...unique.

*2 Weeks Ago*

"I don't know Skai, how do I tell her?" Alexia asked her kwami.

"Soon you'll be sisters, it might be easier then." the blue-grey and white wolf kwami replied.

"It might be even harder then," Alexia sighed, trying to smash her face under her pillow. "It would be so awkward, like, 'I'm your sister but I also have a crush on you.' That's not weird at all." She glared at Skai.

The kwami seemed to regret her words a bit, "Ok, you're right that would be worse. But come on, you need to tell her!"

Alexia removed the pillow from her face and sat up, she fiddled with the blue bow at the end of her long braid of brown hair. The bow was her miraculous, the wolf miraculous to be specific, but in camouflage mode. "I don't know.... I don't think I can do it..." she mumbled.

"Lexi you're brave! You've stood up to bad people and way worse than simply telling someone you have a crush on them!" Skai insisted. Alexia still looked disbelieving so Skai decided to change the subject. "Remember when your grandmother came for a visit from Paris a year ago?" she asked the girl.

Alexia brightened up a bit, "How could I forget? That was when she gave me the miraculous, said it was passed secretly through our family for generations!"

Skai put her paw on her chin in a confused way, "It's strange that she never told her daughter about it though..."

"Yeah," Alexia replied, "Grandma was going to tell mom about it but felt she wasn't the right person for the job. She was right though when Mom ran away from Paris around my age and came here."

"So your mother doesn't know you're Lunaden?" the kwami concluded.

"I doubt I would have told mom even if she knew about the miraculous, she probably wouldn't want me being a superhero anyway. But yep, you're the only one who knows. Grandma knew that I am Lunaden too, that is, until three months ago..." Alexia's smiled faded into a frown, "I miss her..." The girl cried internally for a second in memory of her fallen grandparent, then she reverted back to the earlier conversation. "Do you think there will ever be a right time to tell Claire? I mean with everything that's going on, with my cowardice in the question..."

"There will be a right time Lexi," Skai said, hugging the side of Alexia's face, "You'll know when."

Footsteps sounded in the hall outside of Alexia's room, Skai dived for a place to hide.

"Alexia?" her mom knocked on the door, "It's time to go pick up Claire from art club."

"Coming mom!" she answered, throwing the strap to her bag over her head, Skai diving into the bag. Alexia quickly placed a small package of candied fruit, Skai's favorite snack, into her bag. She could almost hear the cheers of the kwami. Something today told her that she would need it, she didn't know why, but it did.

~ Claire ~

She was going to do it. Claire was finally going to tell Hayden that she had a crush on her.

Hayden Brent was extremely popular, but never seemed like that had gone to her head. She was nice and caring to everybody, everyone liked her. Hayden took the same after school art class that Claire did.

Claire Prexly - almost - Darner sat in the class, watching the clock, 30 minutes to go... 12 minutes to go... 7 minutes to go... In the last few minutes, she thought about how she would approach Hayden, absentmindedly pushing the bridge of her glasses further up her nose as she did so. Tightly clasped in her hand, Claire held a necklace with a silver chain and heart pendant, she was going to give it to Hayden.

The bell rang, signally the end of the class. Everyone grabbed their backpacks and headed out the door, heading for the parking lot to their cars or their rides.

"Hey, Hayden?" Claire said, making it out of the doorway of the classroom after the popular girl. Amazingly, Hayden was walking alone, not happily chatting in a huddle.

"Yes?" she replied sweetly. Claire could feel a blush rising in her face.

"I-I I ha-ave," she stuttered on her first two words, then she said the rest in a rush, "acrushonyou."

Hayden playfully smiled, as though she didn't hear what Claire just said, "What was that?"

Claire's face flushed scarlet as she said it more slowly, "I have a crush on you." She closed her eyes, unable to witness Hayden's reaction.

At first, Hayden just blinked slowly, processing the sentence. In the silence, Claire carefully opened her eyes. Then, Hayden laughed.

"I always knew you were messed in the head you FREAK," the girl snickered. Claire paled, she was like a deer caught in headlights, not doing anything to stop this. "You may be "cool"," Hayden used her fingers to emphasize the sarcasm, "in your own little world, but you will never be someone like me. The trainwreck that is your brain clearly proves that, especially when you think the same gender can be together like that." Hayden threw one more evil smirk of satisfaction over her shoulder before sauntering down the hall.

Claire fell to her knees, her face darkened and tears flowed silently down her face. The last few students made their way around her, as if she didn't exist. It wasn't long before she was alone in the hall.

"How can Hayden be like that?" she thought angrily, her sadness replaced by anger and hatred. "Be all nice and sweet in front of everybody, but be a liar, a colossal jerk inside?!" Her empty fist raised as if to punch someone, her teeth clenched. The hand she held the necklace with was open, the jewelry glittering in her palm.

Out of the corner of her eye, Claire saw a dark butterfly approach her, landing on the necklace in her hand before fading, turning the entire thing dark. Claire's negative thoughts and emotions swirled in her head, writhing with power. She tried to fight them, but it was futile. Claire raised her head.

"Heartbreaker," a voice rang inside her mind, "I am Hawk Moth. I'm giving you the power to get revenge, to break the hearts of those who have broken yours. The whole world has shunned you, they didn't want you, but soon they won't be able to do anything but worship you. All I ask is that you bring me Ladybug and Chat Noir's miraculous' in return, surely they won't be able to hide when the whole world depends on them."

"I won't fail you Hawk Moth," Claire promised, placing the necklace around her own neck.
